>>11719376Last pic, I like that BLDR is growing even though I have yet to see one of their sets in stores.
>>11719376This is my most anticipated set this year, I really hope they get more mature anime licenses that L#go won't touch. Maybe we get Demon Slayer next!
>Masters of the Universe (2026) Brick Shop Skeletor Havoc Staff 1/2 Scale Replicahttps://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/359910Apparently, more “display” sets like this are coming, so it’s possible we might not get figures in this line after all. A Fright Fighter set and a Battle Cat set (similar to the old brick-built one from years ago) are also coming. Possibly a Power Sword in this style as well.
>>11719387So Mega Bloks died for nothing, I wish Mattel never bought them...
>>11719360This line has a lot of potential, and if it's successful could force LEGO to deflate their bloated prices. What it needs is BIG items with a massive number of pieces to really get people's attention. Maybe a Castle Grayskull?
Why is it perfect? Many competitors tried to reinvent the minifig but they all look like cheap imitations. I think Megabloks was close with their articulated figures, but making new sculpts and moulds must've been too expensive for them to produce.
>>11719405I personally hate the minifig, I think the kreon is peak design.
>>11719376>>11719378So these are the first human BLDR figs. I dont hate the look, but compared to the sanrio ones they did these don't have enough difference between Lego. Mega went all in on mini-action figure, kreo sacrificed some of the look for transforming figs, even McFarlane did a million paint apps to make it look distinct. They dont look bad but I fear they'll try and double down on figs that are just OK
>>11719360any possiblity MBS will make brick built versions of their fantasy castings?very likely they're be doing Twin Mills n' Bone Shakers when that happens, but I would be interested with what other options they'll pick.the Deora II especially, that design alone has touched the ceiling of what's possible with normal bricks.
>>11719387What a shame
>>11719387Some news, apparently, this is the set list for the Masters of the Universe Brick Shop series. All of them are display models and may not include figures, but that is still unknown:>Buildable Havoc Staff display model>Buildable Power Sword display model>Skeletor bust display model>Fright Fighter display model>Roton display model>Small scale Castle Grayskull display model>Small scale Snake Mountain display modelThe last four sets might include mini figures. It is currently unknown whether they do. Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain are way smaller in scale compared to the older sets. I suppose around $100 range is very likely for them. Apparently these sets were shown at NYTF in a room only for retailers, no press allowed. These sets should have listings leaked in the upcoming weeks on retail sites.
>>11720046What? I took this info from reddit, I don't get your point
>>11720058Ok. I don't understand what you want but ok.
>>11720039Sounds a lot like how Lego handles their licensed IPs now
>>11720064I'm not your autistic whatever imaginary friend, I legit don't understand what the fuck are you talking about. What glow?
>>11720069I give up, I legit don't understand your thing dude, you do you. Not wasting my time with retards.
>>11720039>Buildable Havoc Staff display model>Buildable Power Sword display modelWhy? Who asked for this?>Skeletor bust display modelBetter come with a Skeletor figure>Fright Fighter display model>Roton display model>Small scale Castle Grayskull display model>Small scale Snake Mountain display modelI hope they have mini figures, if they don't then I don't care about them, it's like Mattel is selling me half a toy.
>>11719387lmao, I fucking told you retards, don't get your hopes up.Expect the same for the Halo sets>Warthog display in the same scale as Hot Wheels>buildable Master Chief Helmet>buildable Halo logo>1/2 scale Energy Sword displayAnd none of them will have figures. Mega has officially been murdered. I hope you fuckers like cars.
>>11720263We do have the list for motu here >>11720039It's over
>>11719387>>11720039Why is Mega doing display shit now?
>>11720279They saw Lego raking in cash from retarded adults and wanted a piece of the pie.
>>11719405the Lego minifig is a convergence of many things. if somebody could unlock all the variables, they could win without "copying" it. things like size, basic posing, customizing the parts, even variables like familiarity and nostalgia (?)Lego has done it themselves, when they did girly Friends sets. those don't have regular minifigs, they might as well be knock-off company figures!I really think there's a space for anime-style figures. something like really tiny Nendoroids would have a good chance to gain ground out from under Lego's massive boot
>>11720273reading comprehension, monsieur
>>11720293>picThese are adorable. Thanks fir putting them on my radar.
>>11720039>>11720263 "Display." it's something nice for the office to go with your co-workers Pops. MEGA (as opposed to their bootlegs) sucks
Is AreaX dead? They used to make licensed spongebob and yugioh sets but when looking at their site it says their online store is closed! Apparently both licenses went to Lego!>Our store has been permanently closed as of January 19.https://areaxbricks.com/password
>>11721089There have been posts on r/buildingblocks and r/lepin from Barweer about this. The company is apparently closing up shop. Just one of the many dangers of letting your fortunes ride on licensed properties rather than developing your own.
Continuing from last thread to complete the series, for my records if nothing else.Dana(?) Fan, Demoman>Dong is an elite soldier belonging to the secret border-guarding organization "Ghost Special Forces." He possesses a lithe yet powerful physique, and his deep-set eyes always radiate determination and courage, as if he can see through the fog of war. His explosives skills have shone brightly in numerous military operations. In one raid on a key enemy facility, facing tight defenses and complex terrain, he precisely placed explosives, successfully destroying the target and clearing obstacles for the team's advance, becoming a trusted explosives expert among his comrades.
>>11722496Zhao Zhijun, the sniper>A fearsome sniper in the "Ghost Task Force." His most iconic weapon is his custom-made high-precision assault rifle, constructed from a special carbon fiber material that is not only lightweight but also boasts exceptional stability and concealment. The barrel undergoes a special process to minimize bullet error, and paired with his custom-designed scope, he can achieve precise shooting from over a kilometer away. Like a ghost lurking in the shadows, he protects the team's safety with deadly bullets, an indispensable and crucial force within the squad.
>>11722499Tang Long, cover>Tang Long is the core pillar of the "Ghost Special Forces" for suppressing fire and providing cover. Born into a military family in the border region, he grew up listening to stories of his elders' bloody battles and possessed an almost obsessive belief in protecting his country. During a high-risk border mission, his squad was ambushed by the enemy. In a life-or-death situation, he single-handedly suppressed the enemy with firepower, successfully covering his comrades' retreat, but was seriously wounded in the battle. After recovering, Tang Long was selected by the "Ghost Team" and became a member of this mysterious team, continuing to shine on the battlefield protecting the border.
>>11722500Deng Bao (Main attacker)>Xiao Yong is the lead attacker in the "Ghost Task Force," known for his bravery and skill. Born in a small southern city renowned for its martial arts culture, he trained rigorously in martial arts schools from a young age, developing solid skills and unwavering willpower. As an adult, he resolutely joined the special forces. With his extraordinary physical abilities and fighting spirit, he excelled in numerous high-intensity training sessions and combat missions, accumulating rich experience in close-quarters combat and assault operations. His fearless and always leading-the-front style in battle led to his selection by the Ghost Task Force, making him an indispensable key offensive force within the team. And that rounds out the Ghost Task Force, think they got some names mixed up but they'll go by western tough guy names anyway, like Gabriel Stone, Dirk Action, John Fist, Blake Shrapnel...
Expiring patent was a gift from God.Better prices.Better content.Although this one is probably illegal in Europe.
>>11723856Oh ya.Mustang has reciprocating piston V8 and functioning steering.
Been meaning to do this one for my desk but havent had time.Has green or pink leaf set.Sorry if crappy pic.
>>11723856This is a copy of the work of a talented Lego builder named Pawel Kmiec. Just a word to the wise: Nifeliz is a brand notorious for stealing creators' designs and other sketchy business practices.
>>11719378$5Below----- ----- -----Stupidly, didn't look for a new thread:>>02/26/26(Thu)13:22:28 No.11723838Had to return a coffee cart from 5Below, I thought I could spruce up as a meeting place for action figures on a street diorama but once I got it home, it looked too junky. They now have actual LEGO and still have the same 'brick' copy cats they always carried and then some. But this was actually a pretty big store. They even had stuff I never noticed before, like a Spy v Spy living room brick set and other weeb brick mixed stuff like that.Took a few pictures but they are all out of focus.
I've been seeing some clone sets on Aliexpress that are tempting me. I've gotten a few bootlego animals and they're good aside from some minor paint imperfections but I've never gotten a complete set. Has /pbbg/ had good experiences with Aliexpress or is it so much cheaper for a reason? I don't care about boxes or instruction booklets.
>>11724604I should just make a copypasta for this question because it gets asked every thread.Chink bootlego has become quite decent. Clutch power and colours have become consistent enough with rare outliers like some hinge pieces being a little loose. The biggest disparity in quality between Aliexpress copies and the real thing is the building experience. The set not being neatly separated into bags and the sometimes unreadable instructions being restricted to pdf downloads from shady links can hurt the experience quite a lot. Also missing pieces are common. For the dirt cheap price you pay most people would consider it worth it if you plan on using it for general MOCing or just messing around with.
My brickopinions did a 20 minute video of Mega Bloks Dragons, crazy line, I'm surprised Mattel never rebooted it!https://youtube.com/watch?v=Ql-YUss8brc
>>11724608>it gets asked every thread. My bad, anon and thanks. I suppose there's a trickle of people who get fed up with Lego's prices and practices. I have a large enough collection that I should be able to fill in the occasional missing basic part and for 1/5 to 1/3 of the price of the official thing I might have to try one of these out.
>>11724256>stealing from Lego.I have no issue with that.Lego has preyed on parents for generations.
>>11724608>>11724618Let's not forgot of course the potential risk of finding atoms in your Chinese legos
>>11724604>>11724608As the guy who just ordered two mecha and then bought one more, paying $1.80-$2.40 USD for shit that retails for $17-19.99 and that is retired in some cases and overpriced worker for me.I totally agree about the baggies build and shitty instruction book. And I am pretty sure a few bricks are missing. Once I build the other two, I'll post more pictures (next thread?) but if you check the last one. BootLego is worth what I paid and then some so far.
>find out today the local hobby shop is stocking CobiCouple bucks cheaper than Amazon too.
>>11720293>something like really tiny NendoroidsYeah Funko Pops have tiny variants like that, they're just nendos but cheaper
>>11726475the lil pops are junk, thoughthey are as soulless as the larger onesthese, for example, smaller with peg grooves on the bottom and different (non-soulless eyes) would work because they feel very solid. But being one entire piece would mean they would always be in that position, which is the problem with all of these.
>>11719414Based desu>>11722499>Using the claymore as binocularslol i used to do the same
>>11726475I was referring to anime-style figures, which is something Lego seems to be ignoring.both Nendoroid and Funko have similar aggressive license grabbing. they each make as many figures as they can, of whatever they can (Funko especially!) if somebody else did that, with the right-looking figures, with a little brick-build next to it, Lego might be in trouble
I was pleased as punch to see the Iron Man Power Rangers today.
>>11719405>Many competitors tried to reinvent the minifigNo anon, they didn't.A lot of these "competitors" shamelessly steal lego brick designs 1-to-1 and the only reason they don't do it with the minifigs is because they don't want to get sued because the lego minifig design currently is one of the last remaining copyright patents left.
I wondered into a Burlington after hitting a Hobby Lobby and Walmart, because they supposedly have a GI Joe two pack (which they didn't) but all three stores has some kind of brick assembly toys or 'hobby' build brick kit type thing for sale.I was really surprised at how much Burlington wanted to charge for Mega Brick sets when Walmart has them for less just 4 miles down the way.
I really appreciate this figure, and I want to build him. Nothing on Aliexpress says he comes with instructions. Can anyone say anything about this set having instructions?
>>11727936Funny how that works. The local liquidation centre has those terrible GI Joe brick sets for crazy prices; Dollaramas in town have the same sets for considerably less but even those are overpriced for what you get. Overall the liquidation centre is fantastic for Chinese legos at rock-bottom prices so it's a weird outlier. Similar vein, Canadian Tire has a bunch of those stupid Lego Vidiyo beatbox sets for like 10 maplebucks for some time now; don't think the pile ever reduces in size either. Compare that to the hobby store I was at the other day that had Cobi >>11726309 and they also had a bunch of those same sets, at original launch price...>>11728133Sometimes they send you a pdf by message or email after purchase, could always message the store to confirm.
>>11727814China don’t give no fucks.
>>11727814>steal lego brick designs 1-to-1Lego themselves stole the brick from some other company though. Kinda of like how Oreos are the ripoff.
On the subject of stealing designs, Sluban's take on the Chinese Harbin Z-20.
>>11728881After some unpleasantness involving tanks and students the US refused to sell any more helicopters to China, so the Chinese did what the Chinese do best. It's a nice model overall, with sliding doors and the top is designed to come off easily for access to the cockpit and interior. Sluban is increasingly decking out their minifigs with gear, even down to wristwatches with tiny stickers for the face. They're also including sprues of modular weapons similar to the Mega CoD ones, typically including two different barrels, choice of magazines and additional accessories on the sprue of NVGs.
>>11728884Oh yeah, the pilot is cute.
>>11728254>>11728133If it's a legit KO, the legit company might have either (a) instructions on line or (b) will send you the PDF with a "the dog ate my homework" email.
>>11719369Am I allowed to buy these
Your choice, manI already some wild mocs using those figs on this board before
Big day for Brick Shop bros
>>11724615fucking slime killed it lmao
>>11732414 So nothing but "desk toppers" "something nice for the display" and little for those who want cool articulated figures. MEGA is shit now. It's sad. I will love what I've got but but damn disappointing.
>>11719360do not buy any technic set from mouldking (Someone maybe saw me on lego general.) set 17065 was absolute dogshit, 2 of function malfunctioned even i assemble correctly several times. i bought Lego 8455 back hoe loader which 20+ years ago. that set was 100 times better than red crane shitjust fucking don't buy technic set from other than lego, not sure about system bricks
New MBS sets leaked
Mattel Brick Shop Masters of the Universe figure details from Castle Grayskull & Snake Mountain sets (with the Fright Fighter that has yet to have a description)With the piece count versus the figure count, I'm not sure if those 'new micro-world figures in dynamic poses' are articulated, or if their dynamic poses are called that way because they switch poses from figure-to-figure across several figures that are static. The Fright Fighter though is a helicopter which signifies the highest likelihood of the old micro action figure system since it's so small compared to Castle Grayskull & Snake Mountain which are entire fortresses. There are 3 outcomes:1.) The 'new micro-world figures' is just a re-name of the current micro action figure system. That is the best scenario. Maybe the Fright Fighter could carry that legacy if the other 2 sets don't due to it's small size.2.) It is an entirely new figure system. Whether it's larger than the micro action figure system or more or less articulated remains to be seen.3.) Worse case scenario is that they standardise the 1x1 stud static figure system. You know, the 1x1 Cortana, Roland, Vault Boy, & Squid Game's Pink Soldiers. While I'm not against that, I am hoping it won't be a cop-out against the micro action figure system. Then again, eyes on the Fright Fighter unless they decide to make that one come with a 1x1 Skeletor figure lol which would be laughable.
>>11733133
>>11733133>>11733135There's also a Halo Warthog set coming, a diecast prototype leaked for it so it will be probably in Hot Wheels sets style.
>>11733139Said prototype
>>11733133>I'm not sure if those 'new micro-world figures in dynamic poses' are articulatedLego just announced Mario minifigs, and Mattel is making statues. What a retarded fucking company.

>>11733340Classic Mattel move
Halo bros...
>>11720263>>11733719anon was right, this is fucking gay
Am I the only 1 that bought these awesome figs? They have transparent plastic. If that doesn't sell you on them, I don't know what will. They look epic.
>>11733757 steaming loads.
>>11732414I love the MK4 Supra's stock oval spoiler, but I heard the Hot Wheels that will come with it will have a tuner spoiler on it which ruins that set for me. I really wish they could've retool-el the MK4 cast with an oval spoiler finally, they have been using the same cast for 10+ years
>>11733719I miss Halo Construx like you wouldn't believe. I'm glad I snagged a bunch of MkVI Spartans when I did so I can repaint and modify the armors at my leisure.
>O'reily autoparts centers are selling bootlego sets nowit's a different world these days
>>11734783NTA but it's worth noting alot of MCX sets are in deep discount on amazon these days. Bite now while you can, god knows they'll never be back.
