Hail to the king
>>11726962What's wrong with the Marvel OP?
>>11726966Including a database that hasn't been updated in four years, first off.

Still waiting for my Sentinel to ship. They charged me though so hopefully tomorrow. Too bad it usually takes like a week to get stuff from Pulse.
anyone get charged for mafex rogue?
>>11727161No, I was lucky enough to cancel it before.
>>11727192hlj is lame and doesn't let you cancel after a certain date, but yeah I'm selling it as soon as I can. Haven't charged me yet though.
>>11727132>sentinel still in stockhuge mega flop
>>11727212It's really autistic how some of you repeat the same thing every thread.
>>11727132Anon that's been Sentinel posting for the last couple of weeks here. It took them longer than usual to ship mine too. Also, all the stuff that's come from Pulse via Fedex for me never required a signature on delivery, but that one did and I can only assume it's due to the price of the item in question.>>11727282I'm autistic as fuck and even I think it's weird how programmed they seem to say shit like this every time a certain subject comes up.
>>11727295Ah, that's good to know. Thanks. >I'm autistic as fuck and even I think it's weird how programmed they seem to say shit like this every time a certain subject comes up.They are really starting to come off as bots at this point. Gave Punisher Spider-Man Nior’s Jacket.

Diamond form Emma Frost is up at Target.
Got the mess toys scarlet spider, for $38 it's fantastic. Have the cel shaded figuarts coming in this week too.

>>11728034Also this
I hate target exclusives so much
>>11728045The X-Men ones have been pretty easy to get as of late once they release at least. My local Target had a ton of Storms, WeaponXs, and Mystiques. Storm and Wolverine even hit discount. I doubt Onslaught will be that tough to get when he comes out.
>>11728034>Onslaught>sells outLMAO!!!!!!!!
>>11728058Why wouldn't it? This is target
>>11728096what a stupid little bitch you are lol
>>11728110Lizard sold out. Onslaught will sell out with an even lower buy rate due to Target ordering 4 total.
>>11728153Lizard didn't sell out and Onslaught isnt the fucking LIZARD lmaoIdiots!!!
>>11728162
>>11728153Except how all the retro carded x men stuff has been hitting discount after it released. Savage Land Chuck, X Factor Jean, Weapon X, Outback Storm, all these figures have come out within the last year. All these figures have not $15.99 at one point or another on Target's website. Stop panicking. You'll get Onslaught, maybe even at a discount if you can be patient.
>>11728186X-Men should be extremely popular , how did this happen X-Bros?

>>11728246The headsculpt for masked Jean was also ugly
>>11728238Plenty of Amazon exclusives don't sell out fast either. I was obviously talking about the recent Lizard. Why would I be talking about the regular sized lizard from walmart rather than the deluxe baf re-release when Onslaught is also a deluxe baf re-release?
>>11728264NTA but I don't think you'll need to panic if you miss Onslaught's pre order. Once he actually hits stores you'll be able to get him. None of the other retro carded X-Men have sold out. Even Mystique is still floating around my local stores. They've all hit clearance, Onslaught will more than likely do the same. The Gamerverse 2 pack and Warbird weren't part of the retro X-Men assortment, they seem to flood stores with the retro carded stuff, not sure why though. Maybe because they can fit more units on a peg.
>>11728238How are you so stupid?
>>11728264>Why would I be talking about the regular sized lizard from walmart rather than the deluxe baf re-release when Onslaught is also a deluxe baf re-release?Because one was an online exclusive and the other was a store exclusive that has physical locations, like the Onslaught, you absolute stupid fucking faggot.Holy shit you loser pieces of shit scared to leave your homes disgust me. I ordered my Sentinel over a week ago now, and still no shipping yet. This is annoying. I was sick this week though so I probably wouldn't have gotten to enjoy it anyway.
I know it's not an action figure but I don't know where else to ask. This is a statue by Kotobukiya and it says 1/6 scale. Do you think an X-Men fan would like this? It's expensive but he is a good friend and I thought that it would be cool to buy him something he wouldn't normally buy himself. Do action figure collectors appreciate stautes as well? Is this a good brand?
My Sentinel shipped you guys!
>>11729578Koto is great. Their stuff either bins or moons in price. My mass effect statue is worth over 1k now. Does the person have other statues in their home? If not if may just end up being just another thing he has to dust. Most collectors like posing their collection. Is cable his favorite character?
>>11729578>Do action figure collectors appreciate stautes as well? Some do, it depends on what he already owns/displays. But typically no, since they take up a ton of space that he'd have to accommodate. If you ask me, and since you're willing to spend, I would buy import figures. But again, that depends on if that's something he doesn't typically get.
>>11729578I've been on the receiving end of this kind of scenario so I'll throw my two cents in. I originally started with DC statues but quickly made the leap to figures when I wanted to get some Marvel rep on my shelf and ML turned out to be the best offering for building an all out universe, so I made the switch but still have statues sprinkled around my collection. A few years after amassing my figure collection I did get a Spider-Man statue from my mom as w Christmas gift ome year. It was something I never would've bought myself. It was a company I don't usually buy from, a version of the character I didn't particularly care for, and wasn't in scale with anything I already had. Still though, it was a nice looking statue and I still found a way to incorporate it into my collection. I think the fact that it was a gift is what makes me hang on to it despite it not being my cup of tea. So it being a gift goes a long way imo. However if it's just some statue of a random Marvel character or something that you don't know if he likes or not also says something too. While I didn't like that particular version of Spider-Man the statue I got was based off, I still love Spider-Man as a character so I had no problem adding it to my Spidey collection. If he really likes Cable, I'd say go for it, it's a cool looking statue and if it's a character he likes, I'm sure he'd find a way to incorporate it into his collection.
>>11729578Statues can be cool but that particular statue seems like one that you wouldn't be super into unless you really like Cable. And he's far more niche than Wolverine, Gambit, or Cyclops. So it might not be as welcome in a collection unless you know they're a hardcore fan of him,
Supposedly Mafex Final Swing Spider-Man and Jubilee are in various retailer systems as 3/28 releases. Real ones know to take that with a grain of salt, as Medicom could fuck up a wet dream.
>>11729225In-store vs not in-store and X-men trash vs non. Hope this got through your b***n head :)
>>11729578>and I thought that it would be cool to buy him something he wouldn't normally buy himself. This is a good impulse. And as someone who is more of an action figure fan, I do own and like statues. But I wouldn't buy him something that expensive (although you can find new, in box Kotos for less than they retail if you look around). OTOH, I do agree with the people who talk about the space issue, and especially with this anon >>11729677 comments, particularly with only knowing he's generically an "X-Men fan" since it's a huge cast of characters there. I do think this anon >>11729629 made some good points, I have gifts that were given to me that I later sold (I was moving and some were too huge to move - not talking collectibles here, obviously) but some I have hung onto, not because I was that attached, but because it was a gift. tl;dr for the same amount of money that you are thinking of paying or less, you could order him a mini-bust by Diamond Select of the X-Men animated series, that currently range in price between $40-$70 at BBTS: https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Search?HideInStock=false&HidePreorder=false&HideSoldOut=false&InventoryStatus=i,p,so&PageSize=20&SortOrder=Relevance&Company=3&FeaturedIn=13648Bust take up far less space that a statue so that answers that issue, and here you have more options in X-Men characters, in case he's not that huge into Cable in particular.
>>11729697>>11729225Just suck each other's cocks and shut up already. None of your piddly back and ofrth even matter because the retro X-Men stuff has been consistently hitting clearance. Now kiss and shut the fuck up already. Gaylords.
>>11729697I don't buy in store as I told you. And Marvel is Marvel. X-Men figures don't suddenly mean something must pegwarm.
>>11729729Except for the fact the retro carded X-Men stuff hasn't sold out and has gone on clearance just about every time. Why do you refuse to acknowledge this you stinky fuck?
>>11729729>>11729733>>11729712
>>11729733your sample size of retro carded X-Men figures is something like 6.
>>11729765For Target exclusives that is
>>11729765>>11729766Sure. And since Onslaught is part of that same assortment, it's reasonable to assume that he will do the same. Once these guys actually hit stores, they just aren't hard to get. My local stores get like 8 or 9 each and then they sit there until Target discounts them. Same for the website. This has happened for each release so far. No reason to think it won't happen for Onslaught.
While 97 Cable is still my favorite look for the character, Zabu BAF/MvC Cable looks pretty rad.>>11729597Glad it's finally on way, hope you have a lot of fun messing with it and don't have to work too hard to find display space.
>>11729597Congrats.SHF Gamerverse figure #4 should be getting announced "soon".
>>11730038>>11730070Thanks bros. I'm pretty excited to get it and redo my entire X display.
>>117300704th one will be the charm, right?
>>11730070Oh cool! Oh wait, nobody actually gives a shit about SH Figuarts.
>>11730070Thanks for reminding me, I really should just cancel that SHF Spidey Pre order before it's too late.
>>11730391I actually have to do the same. I had it pre-ordered on Amazon. Fucking no way am I getting that mess.
I hate this less than I thought I would.
>>11730436Like almost every SHF, if it didn't have that horrid crotch articulation it would be an instant buy.
>>11730388Can any other non-SHF figure do this kind of a pelvic thrust?
>>11730436:(
>>11730865>the perfect Spider-Man doesn’t exist We were robbed by a fucking thong
>>11730865That looks so much better. Too bad SHF loves to overengineer everything and cut it up like a cheese grater.
>>11730436That looks fucking awful, holy shit.
>>11730865This would unironically be the best spiderman figure ever made if it had a soft diaper like the mafex tasm2
>>11730865As a 90s fags seeing this gives me a might need. Shf could easily make a v2 like this but they’re fucking faggots obsessed with men in thongs.
>>11730865Well now I hate the actual SHF more again. Goddamn it. Why could they just do this?
>>11730865Can someone ratio shf with this so they have no choice but to acknowledge they are living money on the table
>>11730436>>11730865So if the main thing I want is a head that IS this or looks closest to this, I am better off paying a scalper for the Retro than I am trying to get the Figure Arts, which looks more like the Peter B. Parker head than anything else:https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/product/spider-man-across-spider-verse-shfiguarts-scarlet-spider-action-figure-166665Or is the Mafex 143 that much better, because those two imports of Ben, look really drastically different from one another - unmasked head-wise.And only the Mafex comes somewhat close to the Retro ML while still looking like he's going out to a 1990s nightclub?
>>11730975>These are the esls that tell you what toys you should buyLmao
>>11730985Mafex is reissuing the 075 version of Spider-Man just get that one.
>>11730985Forgot link to the Mafex although I assume most of you know what I mean: https://www.amazon.com/MEDICOM-Spider-Man-Reilly-Original-Protective/dp/B0FK4DFKQL>>11730987I don't want any old fucking import Spider-Man. I want an unmasked head of BEN.You buy that Mafex, pal.
>>11730991You could get the CT Spider Ben if you want the just the head. But it might be undersized compared to the real deal Mafex.
>>11730966Because then a bunch of people would bitch because he only got 90 degrees of thigh rotation total, or that he could only kick out to 85 degrees, because Bandai didn't bother with drop-down hips.As much as I find you "shf thong" haters funny, I'm equally guilty of such autism with Hasbro's horrific thigh and boot cuts. *shrug*.
>>11730986>one word gets autocorrected >HUR ESL RETARD LOLOLOLHitler youth isn’t what it used to be.
>>11730994Yeah, I thought about it, but that head yells 1990s Superboy nightclub, and I prefer the more natural looking head of the retro carded. But PICREL is an older buck and sucks, supposedly?
>>11731030Sounds like you have your heart set on the retro then. I wouldn't pay too much for it. I'd actually sell you the figure as I have it and since upgraded it to the newer retro one, but I'd keep the Ben head, I use it for a kitbash unflamed Johnny Storm. So it wouldn't really do you any good lol. Still, I think the CT is your best option price wise if you're just looking for the head.
What's a hyper-specific and nitpicky figure revision you really want?Personally, I want a more accurate Doug Moench-era Moon Knight. I have the Retro-card Marvel Legends figure, and he's great - but it does make my eye twitch just a lil bit, because it feels like his costume's colors got reversed. This's better seen in the Hulk Mag stories where they had better coloring, but even in his solo series, it's clear that the main body of the costume was intended to be silver - his belt, gloves, boots, cape+cowl, and symbol were white. On the Retro figure, he entire costume is white, but those same parts I just mentioned are in a more pearly or shiny plastic. Also, we still don't have any MK figure that has his truncheon (which turned into nunchucks or a grappling hook). It was his main weapon, yet the figures only give us a long staff.(What comic did that staff come from, anyway? It wasn't any MK comics I've read, I only know it from Marvel Ultimate Alliance).
>>11731073I want a version of Mastermind and/or Jason Wyngarde that's actually accurateThe only one we got was based on a cover for a comic that he wasn't even in and has a color scheme he never wore, it was actually an illusion of him ironically enough
>>11731073I've been kinda getting mine the last few years. I was dying for a redo of the Astonishing X-Men, and according to Amazon, I'll have that team knocked out next month with that last two pack. I also wanted 2000s versions of characters like Thor and Iron Man, I got Extremis Iron Man, my favorite suit, twice, now I'm getting Maximum Thor which scratches that itch. I'd suggest a modern style Cap but really it's not that different from the 20th Cap, just swap in a pouch belt and maybe a slightly different mask. I also have gotten redos of the Dark Avengers which I thought they'd never actually get to. I'm just waiting for them to do a DnA style GotG since the last set is ancient by today's standards. Really, after Maximum Thor comes out, save for a handful of figs like the GotG and a new Yellowjacket, I'd be set for the long haul and would be reasonably happy with my Marvel Universe that I've built over the years.
>>11731073Classic Iron Fist
Mezco Thor is also a Thorlet. Just like the Mafex. Why does everyone make him so short?
>>11731122Cause he was meant to be the size of a normal dude, not a 7' giant like Hasbro makes him out to be. As for the midget proportions, that's just Mezco's style. They've been shit since the beginning.
>>11731122Classic marvel Thor is so gay
>>11731156(positive)
>>11731145Look at how big he is in the comics, then decide how big his figure should be
>>11731122i much prefer the mezco other than the fucking pleather leotard, not buying that shit ever because its a timebomb
>>11731145I dunno, even in the comics he is usually taller than Cap and Iron Man, and Mezco Thor is about the same height as Cap.
Yeah, this is way too short.
>>11731196>using a 90s comic as a reference
>>11731202You'd say the same if it were a 60s comic, don't fucking lie.
>>11731111I don't know if he counts to you, but the one in the 2-pack with Luke Cage was good enough for me. He'll probably be the last Danny figure they make for a good long while
>>11731202Ok, so he was short for a very particular time (the early to mid 60s). He's depicted as taller and pretty much every subsequent appearance since. So for the majority of his appearances he's taller. You're just looking to argue for the sake for arguing now.
>>11731000>*shrug*kys>>11731208Wanna guess which appearance the Mafex and Mezco are based on? :^)
>>11731245The Mafex is based on the 60s version you could argue but the Mezco, certainly not. Not with those proportions.
>>11731246It's literally the Kirby head LMAO!! fuckin MCU kids
>>11731198>toyline doesn't scale with other toylineno waystop trying to mix your mezco and ml they look like shit together anyway
>>11731258Kirby was still drawing Thor in the late 60s too, you know. When Thor started being drawn as taller than others. It's like if half of all Thing action figures still depicted him as a weird muddy monster like he was in the first single-digit F4 issues. "duhh but he was drawn that way for a time tho"

>>11731042>I wouldn't pay too much for it.Thanks I've got someone whose agreeing to sell it to me for $45 but that's used, same as you, and with the head. We're just talking about other crap he has for sale and not listed. One sold new for about that so I could wait as well. >kitbashThat's part of why I want the head - not for Johnny but just generally. I've been buying cheap MLs on-line and playing with the heads. But you're right, I could order the CT and also play with that head. So you think the CT is good but you also would recommend the Retro body even if you're willing to part with it? I also do want a body I can use. I just got the OTHER masked retro Scarlet Spider, and it's fun but I wouldn't mind having both to pose.
>>11731122Amazing Yamaguchi is my favorite but he's also not big enough. Thankfully it's a revoltech with a discreet stand attachment so when put in poses it's not that noticeable.

>>11731529I just saw they were doing AY Iron Man. I wonder if they'll fix the red paint issue where he got all sticky. Mine is pretty terrible now, which sucks, it's a great figure otherwise. Speaking of, does anyone know if the reissue for the AY Iron Man had the same problem?
>>11731531>fix the red paint issue where he got all sticky.i hope so. its bootleg version also suffered the same fate.
>>11731536Damn, that's a bummer. I wonder what the deal is with that red paint they're using. I Have AY Harley Quinn who has similar red paint on her outfit and it isn't sticky like Iron Man got.
>>11731531>>11731536Metallic red paint on a soft plastic will pretty much always do that after a certain point, there are many examples of it happening to figures from various lines
>>11731555I have a mcfarlane from 2004 with metallic paint on soft PVC. It isn't sticky. Companies now are just retarded or cheap out because they know all they have to do is sell the figure, they don't care what happens after. They didn't want to make a quality product in the first place.
>>11731555>>11731581Yeah, I haven't had many other figures have this issue, my Harley Quinn from the same company doesn't have the problem, and she has pretty much the same shade of metallic red paint as Iron man does.
>>11731581Metallic red or another color?
>>11731607You mean this one? Did you get the reissue? I remember the this one having issues with the paint on the crotch cracking
>>11731608Well it's red and that red is metallic. I don't know the EXACT name of the color that the factories and companies would use.
>>11731611Yeah, the crotch on mine cracked, not terribly though, you need a magnifier to really see it. But it never got sticky like Iron Man.
>>11731614Interesting, maybe they are cheaping out on something nowadays. All I know is that I've had a good handful of metallic red figures fade and get sticky over the past 10-15 years and when looking into it, I always find many other examples online of people having similar issues with metallic red figures. It's why I've pretty much stayed away from any import IM figures.
>>11731620Reminds me of how my MMPR the Movie metallic Red Ranger was the only one of my rangers to flake. I had all six too, but it was just my red that faded. I wonder if I still have it with all the other old toys from my childhood that my mom gave me after cleaning out her house. I really should go through that some day, it's just sitting in my garage right now.
it looks terrible. never ever preorder anything.I accept no excuses.

>>11731693This is why I avoid Figsharts entirely and stick with Gayfex and Revoldreck for imports.
>>11731702confirmed. Maximum gives you the most for your money... if you even care about the extra plastic in a Maximum box.the most I want from action figures are alternate heads and hands since they're more useful for displaying emotions than a web shield, for example Maximum Hulk did right by including multiples heads while the thunderclap and missiles are chilling in a jewelry box.Creel will get more mileage out of 2 heads than he would with a rock arm.
>>11731703Yeah same. I'm still on the fence about getting the SHF Spidey, just to try, but man, it's really looking rough.
>>11731614>>11731622>>11731620I notice my copy of that McFarlane does have some flaking issues in some spots, but no stickiness as noted. I wonder if Metallic red long term the choice is either it has some flaking or it has stickiness depending on the formulation of the paint?
>>11731732Oh no fading though, it still looks pretty much the color in that picture. But some parts have flaked off, not too noticeably though

>>11731990>sculpted lineslooks like something hasbro would do if they weren't planning to rerelease the Maximum buck as Black Suit Spidey. raised lines would've justified the SHF's 100 dollar price tag
>>11731990Now THATS a mcfarlane spidey
>>11727411As promisedThis thing is awesome. This photo is not edited at all, just slapped it on top of my laptop screen and took it with my phone and the figure really just looks incredible. I'd love for these guys to make a Spiderman Unlimited with this cel shading, I suppose the odds of that aren't great.
And another
>>11731992>raised linesI hate the fucking Raimi movies so much for ruining Spider-Man for generations
>>11727411>>11732041So you really think these are that much better than the CTs? Do either of those come with an unmasked head. If so, would you please pose a snap shot of that? I'm going to buy the CT of >>11727411 that suit, it's actually in my cart but I need to sort out what else I am Choice Buying. But I was going to pick up the cell shaded at some point down the line, for the unmasked head, harvest it and dump the rest of the figure on eBay with a $5 discount and sell it off since I don't like the suit or the cell shading on it.And this isn't a dig, I'm just not a fan of cell-shading. I've seen some, actually on a Spider-Man from the 1990s or 2000s, don't remember it was old, where it actually looked appropriate but the first time I saw a video, which happened to be a Mafex, I just thought it looked strange as the guy put it through it's pose. But then again, I'm someone who would pick something that looked aesthetically really good in my BFA eyes versus something that articulated to here and back again and looked (to me) strange) - a perfect example of this is here: >>11731691>>11731990umf
>>11732043this is probably the best cel shading I’ve ever seen on a figure, it’s probably the design being so simple that makes it work so well but it’s so much better than hasbro’s attempts
>>11732041This brought me back. Those fleer ultra sets were the best card sets ever made.
>>11732115Mess toys is CT. They just call their AY knock offs Mess Toys for whatever reason. I think they had to change the name or something, I don't really know. The AY stuff they're more likely to do original figures for though, as they've done with the several Spider Man variants. They haven't done that with Mafex knock offs for whatever reason.
>>11731990Damn. Reminds me of reading Spectacular in the 90s, back when Luke Ross was on art duties. Good times, man.
>>11732234AKA the last good era of Spider-man. When he was a CHAD before he started devolving into the zany manchild he is today.
>>11732238Early to mid 2000s was pretty good too. I liked the JMS era.
My experience with CT toys has been not that great. I assume most of the people glazing them online dont have much experience with authentic high-end figures because as good as they are they are still very much bootlegs. Agent Venom looks great, and you get the bonus head which makes it worth it on its own. However, after about an hour of posing, half the joints started going loose one by one. Also my copy had two mismolded sockets and I fucked one of them up badly fixing it.
My experience with CT Toys Gambit was worse. Much worse. Out of the box he had multiple floppy loose joins and a leg that fell off at the knee. Luckily I am perfectly able to fix all these types of issues. The things I can’t fix about Gambit are his poorly tailored jacket and wonky joints. I already don’t care for Mafex bucks and this figure introduces several new issues to the joint setup. He has a gap in his abs and his knees won’t straighten out fully
These Mess Toys figures on the other hand, they drastically stepped it up. They are fantastic. Im gonna go out on a limb and say I think they feel better than any real Revoltech I own
>>11728282>>11728386With the stock at ollie thinned out of at least the Black Panther shit and most of the Star Wars after reducing the prices to $1-$5, I think it's gonna big another big summer of Hasbro trash this year for Ollies. A shot ton of GI Joes, ML C and D lister figures, 2 packs, deluxe figs, all the shit you never saw at Target and WM. ROSS and DDs continue to get new stock of unsold waves. Found myself a Hulk Scaak for $10 at Ross the other day. Gonna be wild seeing those gamervers and thundebolts 2 packs stacked like the X-Men blue and gold three packs.
>be me, want Mess Toys figures >one person in all of Los Angeles is selling theirs >let’s fucking go >buy 5 figures off this tiny wetback>specifically states they are all complete >get them home, Im missing 5 parts across 3 figures>motherfucker >no big deal he’s not too far..>at first he’s apologetic and amicable, offering to bring me the parts >I will come get them right now>starts making excuses >I can come get the parts morning noon or night >starts ignoring me >left me on read for 2 days nowIm livid. In the remote change you are out there Luis you are a bitch. Who conducts business like this?
>>11730865>all these poselets who display their figures in A poses
>>11732250Re-reading it, I really didn't. Doc Ock was the ONLY returning classic villain, all the new villains were pretty dogshit (Morlun should've been a one-and-done) and the cracks were showing in Peter's life where editoral just HAD to seperate him from MJ... and that was before we even get to Sins Past and OMD.
>>11732274Doubt it’s gonna be that crazy. Not that I would complain. That set from your pic was available at Ross for one day and I haven’t seen it again since. I have been casually searching for that Kaine for like 2 weeks now with no luck. Speaking of Kaine, that motherfucker has this guy’s wrist spikes which I am really upset about
>>11732274At some point the space becomes more valuable than the figure and it makes less sense to even bother going to Ollie's to buy a figure you only kind of want due to the space it'll take up
>>11732269I feel like you might've gotten screwed on QC. I don't have the CT Toys Gambit yet, but have been considering buying one to go with my 97 figures since the Legends' articulation is fucked by the plastic coat. I watched a couple of reviews and even the ones where the reviewer has the official figure, they're usually pretty satisfied with the quality. There's also ones from different factories floating around, too, I think.

>>11732294>I don’t have it but I know better than you Yes I know I too saw the reviews saying it’s good and now I’m saying it’s not. Maybe the QC bug got me thats true but beyond that there are some inherent issues here, particularly the jacket. The sleeves look like big tubes compared to the original. Also they skimped out on some stitching the original has which is supposed to tack down the extra fabric from the lapels. It comes out exactly like the Toybiz’s jacket did. Sloppy paint is another widely reported issue. This figure is actually entirely made of white plastic thats been painted. And yes it’s CT not a 4th party bootleg. It just not that great, at all
>>11732233>Mess toys is CT.That I know. I consdiered getting that Black Spider-Man and think it's an interesting design but I just don't get why everyone is so fascinated by the concept or by Venom (or any of the variants). It's the jokerfication of Marvel, IMHO. And I know that Mess Toys is more original, I was asking if it's really that much of an improvement? The cost is not much more, so it's not that, it's just that they are harder to legit order without paying for shipping and taxes and I'd rather have that plus save the extra - what is it $5-10 per fig, to get a head sculpt I like. That's why I wanted to know if it came with one. Even if I don't pose them much unmasked, I like having the option. Just like having extra heads, hands, and other crap is a nice option.>>11732295pottery, pal, full on pottery
>>11732265>>11732269I have had pretty much the same experience as you anon. They're very VERY mid. Especially when you compare them to their authentic counterparts. I don't have any of the Mess Toys stuff, though. Closest thing I have is Agent Anti Venom but I'm pretty sure he's still considered CT. I will admit he's definitely the best out of the three I have. I've been tempted to try one of the Mess Toys ones but nothing has really excited me, their Spidey's are nice, but I'm not a fan of a lot of the asthetic choices they make.
>>11732274I doubt it anon. The only reason there was such a glutton of stuff in the first place is because Hasbro massively overproduced the stuff in the year following Covid. Compared to how they produce stuff today, I doubt you'll see anything but scraps.
>>11732314>but I'm not a fan of a lot of the asthetic choices they make.Several hideous joints are the trade-off for some truly excellent posabilty. Other than the joints, there’s nothing to hate about their aesthetic. It’s a really nice body. Total hand candy. Pic rel in the car because I took him with me like a child, first time Ive done this in ages but I was enamored with this figure when I got it lol
>>11732323It's not the joints or anything I dislike, it's just some of the stylization they've given to specific figures. For instance, I just don't like the way they did the big white spider on Black Suit Spidey. That's not to say it's bad by any means, it's just not what I like. I like the way the spider looks on the Mafex and the retro carded ML personally. So it's just stuff like that.
>>11732326
>>11732331I was just giving and example of what I meant by disliking the asthetics they choose. There's nothing wrong with you or anyone else liking them, they're just not for me. I don't buy toys because "they're an amazing figure for $35" or whatever, I buy them because I like the asthetic and look of a particular figure. I don't think that's weird or anything.
So is this why there is no Mafex gen at this time? Amiami just called them out. I've only ever gotten 1 mafex and it didnt have any problems (Spider-Gwen) but I didn't notice any issues. Is it becoming more common among the Marvel Mafexes you guys are getting? Is their factory basically just going down the drain? Maybe this is why Rogue got delayed so much
News flash: Mafex has always sucked. From day 1 they were nothing more than 3rd party Figuarts
>>11732352settle down glorp
>>11732340I haven't had any issues with any of mine, but I wouldn't be surprised if the factories aren't being particularly careful. Word is they're pretty fed up with Medicom's short-run reissues being prioritized over the larger and more profitable new release prodution. Guess I'll need to look closely at my Rogue, if she ever ships.
>>11732340>>11732352They were exceptionally shit the first few years, but they have improved. And Figuarts have gotten worse apart from their A-team efforts, so it kinda evens out
>>11732340This hasn't really been the case for a number of years now. They used to be a little rough QC wise, but I've got like two dozen or so at this point and I've only had an issue with one. Where did this even come from?

>>11732419Also, I just checked the one time I had to issue an exchange for a Mafex figure with Amiami, Spider-Verse Miles came with a broken hip. I just scrolled through the email chain and they never said anything about Mafex being lower quality. Granted this was like 5 years ago at this point, but still. Mafex quality hasn't gotten worse in that time period, so who knows.

>>11733223That's completely fair, no reason to spend money you don't need to for characters you already have. I'm pretty happy with him for 16 bucks though, I'm looking forward to messing with him more once I have the time.
People don't change, Wolverine. You were an animal then, you're an animal now.
>>11733215Good pick up. I'm waiting for a Chinese buck to graft the appropriate parts onto.
What are the chances of getting color variants with this line? A nice royal blue looks killer on him
>>11733343its not really something bandai has ever done outside of goku recolors, don't hold your breath
>>11733343Yes. Kaiju daddy already let slip multiple repaints were the plan
>>11732721>The answer is because I am an impatient man child who thrives on instant gratification.Well, now you know what happens when you're desperate for a toy.
>>11732750I know it's Green Goblin but part of me wishes it was Jack O' Lantern instead.
>>11733531Me too anon me too
I updated my Spidey display!
>>11732893Oh, not familiar with Invincible, my bad. >>11733531Wouldn't be so sure, they had some oddball picks and his trash can lid would be way cheaper to produce than a proper glider. I'd prefer Green Goblin though.
>>11733531Seeing how every ML GG is dogshit and Jack just got an excellent figure, may I ask why?
>>11733531It's actually Gray Goblin guys. We're gonna get a whole Sins Past subline to celebrate the 20th anniversary of that story one year late.
>>11733539Looks fucking great man. Jameson shaking his fist in the corner gave me a good chuckle.
>>11733597Oh man I can't wait for that Norman/Gwen two pack
>>11733539>>11733605>Jameson shaking his fist in the corner gave me a good chuckle.Yeah but he should be holding that rolled up Bugle in his hands.
>>11733597I would buy Tommy Lee Jones Norman in a heartbeat.
Well just scored Mafex comic Rogue for 50 bucks.
>>11733642Only a bit more than it is really worth
>>11733642Nice. Still waiting for mine to ship.
>>11733837Anon, we don't care what you think something is worth
*infiltrates your Alchemax facility*
>>11733942
>>11733943
>>11733950INTRUDER ALERT
>>11733952
>>11733957Good toy.
>>11733957>that poseGee, I wonder which poselet this is
>>11734095You'll have to tell us because I can't keep track of all your boogermen
>>11733868Go ahead and waste money on something that looks about a step or two up from a Marvel Legend then. Mafex has made good looking figures but that Rogue isnt one of them
>>11734143You care way too much about what complete strangers on the internet that you'll never meet do with their own money.
>>11734165They buy bad product, companies keep producing bad product, then I don't have anything to buy except bad product.
>>11734143>something that looks about a step or two up from a Marvel Legend then. It's okay to not want to pay what Mafex is charging, no need for outlandish lies.
Mafex is like Valve, I find. You just can't not love them.
>>11734143Yes anon I'm sure those grapes are sour.
>>11734209Unfortunately it's not a lie. It's an extremely plain figure besides the jacket which will collapse and break apart in a few years like all pleather.
>>11734256Mafex's worst will always necessarily be 10x better than those detached sausage thighs, no articulation, mutant freaks Hasbro loves to put out. Face and hair alone achieve that.
>>11734219huh?
>>11733556I'm fond of the Yamaguchi body cause it can strike some insane poses at the cost of looking odd, but that something I enjoy about AY in general. That being the case, from what I've seen ML Jack was a cool release.
>>11734286>looking oddThat's one way to put it
Psylocke confirmed.
>>11734403So, how are they botching this one?
>>11734407TBD.
Pretty excited tho.
>>11734407It'll be the hips and ass. Their Cammy was atrocious in that regard
>>11734411R. Mika proves they had the knowledge to do a fat ass and tiddies, at least at one time. She'll fail at some metric (like every Psylocke release), and the slap-fights over the best will continue in perpetuity.
Next SHF figure after Psylocke is gonna be a villain, per Kaiju Daddy. No renders, no name, just thst it's a villain.
>>11734520If they're not dumb it'll be Doom with a release around December.
>>11734520>>11734568Doom is the only logical choice, but it'll be some X-shit like Spiral.
My expectations have been set.
>>11734570It pains me to say it but it'll be Venom. He's the safest choice for a villain in the entire roster which means they'll pick him.
>>11734403Somehow I absolutely knew it was gonna be her. I tried to think of what character they could do that I would want the least and bam there she is!
>>11726887Its uphttps://youtu.be/wOCCF0ZtO0A?si=Pgjmrl_Qorg5caI5
>>11734411Will she get articulated boobies?
>>11734403It's gonna be a thong crotch again isn't it
>>11734665I'm not sure they've ever used the thong on a female figure. They ought to do it like R. Mika, with a hidden thigh swivel added.
This makes me want to pop my 1/6 scale cherry, bros.
>>11734712https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/product/marvel-comics-cms033-silver-surfer-1_6th-scale-collectible-figure-184465?variation=363011
>>11734712>HT fans pissed again at the sight of jointsGenuinely curious what the reaction would've been to a silicon body with a flat silver finish. Like at a certain point, there's nothing they can do with how they set up the line
>>11734712imagine the fingerprints
>>11734644more collectors need to take this view. a view that respects their own money
>>11734689You're kidding me, the one time the thong would actually belong? What a joke.
>>11734757>Stahp liking things I don't like!No
>>11734712I suddenly wonder if anyone's made their own cheapo Silver Surfer by just using silver spraypaint on an art anatomy figure.
>>11734870"Silver" spraypaint is notoriously shit. There are people who've lathered their figures with those chrome pens, but you literally can't touch it lest you ruin the reflective finish, and it's still nowhere near as reflective as vacuum metalizing
>>11734644>>11734757buy an ad
>>11734570Before Kaiju No.9 and Kumo Augment 01, I would have said no way they try Spiral. Fortunately, the first villain is male.>>11734606This, most likely. They take poll results and fan feedback seriously, supposedly, so when they do them definitely fill 'em out.
>>11734712Just wait for the mafex
>>11734884>They take poll results and fan feedback seriously, supposedly, so when they do them definitely fill 'em out.Supposedly they did a Gamerverse poll but I can’t find any evidence it ever existed much less the results
>>11734403>it won't be MagnetoI'm already disappointed. the shf gamerverse line is getting mogged by Hasbro lmao
>>11734999Heresay was the results got the release order of the line shuffled around a bit. It was intimated that Hulk was very popular with respondents.
lol. lmao even
>>11735134Found a better example. Mrlee is a fucking retard
X gon' give it to ya
Fuck waitin for you to get it on your own, X gon deliver to ya
Knock knock, open up the door, it's real
Awaken
Must not fap
Finally caved and ordered the old Professor X figure while he's on sale from BBTS, so expect the 97 release any day now. Also got Rogue, who's back in stock for a slight mark up of $32.99 for any other latefags like me. Better than ebay prices at least.
>>11735380>slight mark up of $32.99>$25 to $33>slight>mark up
>>11735409Yeah anon. $8 is a slight markup. You guys are so over dramatic about a less than $10 price increase.
>>11735415Bro these toys used to be 20 bucks for a long time. In that realm $8 is almost a 50% markup. Zoomers apparently started collecting in 2021 and don't remember what prices were like
>>11735409>>11735415>$14.99 to $19.99>"it's just 5 bucks bro">$19.99 to $21.99>"it's just 2 bucks bro, nbd">$21.99 to $24.99>"it's 3 bucks bro come on">$24.99 to $27.99>"wow 3 bucks bro, big whoop">$27.99 to $32.99>"5 more bucks, boohoo, what are you, poor?"
>>11735409Like I said, compared to the ebay prices where it's going for $45+, yeah. Would I rather have gotten it when it was $25? Of course.>>11735570I've been collecting since 09. The way import lines like SHF and Figma have shot up to 2-3 times what they used to cost doesn't leave me much energy to gripe about $8.
>>11735570And they used to be $16 before that. >In that realm $8 is almost a 50% markupBut we're not talking in the realm for $20 anymore, we're talking $25, $27 really. >>11735579Then stop collecting toys, I dunno what to tell you. Everything has gotten more expensive, exponentially really since these things were $15. Get a grip.>>11735625Just ignore these dweebs, they'll find a reason to bitch about fucking anything.
>>11735638Maybe there is a point where someone looks at what Hasbro is producing and says "this isn't worth what they're charging." Near 30 bucks for a shitty Marvel Legend is highway robbery.
>>11735380That's a good price for 97 Rogue. I've been playing catch up with the other 97 figures and I wish I could have found her for closer to retail, but Magneto and Storm ended up being such mother fuckers to acquire that I just ended up just buying an eBay lot for the first wave.Professor X's hoverchair is pretty cool too and worth it at the BBTS sale price. Maybe consider tracking down Savage Land Xavier though, because I think the Xavier that comes with it looks kind of shitty.
>>11734712I know he's just a naked silver guy so there's not cloth or likeness to bump the price up, but I'm still shocked Hot Toys managed the self-control to only charge $250 for him.
>>11735672You'd have a point if anything increased in price at the rate of inflation. Too bad everything has increased at a much higher rate.
>>11735579溫水煮蛙 (Frog in warm water). Put a frog in hot water, it will jump out immediately. But if you put it in a room temperature water and slowly boil it, it'll stay there until it dies.In three years, ML figures will cost $50 while having only a blank figure with no accessories and they'll still defend the company.
>>11735827That is by definition incorrect. Inflation rate measures the average increase in prices and so 'everything' cannot have increased in prices at a faster rate than Inflation.
>>11735911Then explain to me now Kroger brand ground beef costs $8 a pound now
>>11735912Do I need to explain averages to you? Some things increase at a slower than average rate and offset the faster than average rate items like beef and toys. So not Everything is going up faster than inflation.
>>11735916Just the vast majority of products. Plug anything into your inflation calculator and you'll see everything is more expensive than it should be. Do you actually live under a rock? This has been a nationwide issue for fucking years now.
>>11735922Thanks for proving you do not understand averages or just can't think of any products that rose at a slower rate than inflation.
>>11735925Anon, burden of proof is on you to point out all these items. When was the last time you went to the grocery store?
>>11735937poorfag crying
>>11735944I accept your concession
>>11735937Sure anon, keep denying the definition of the inflation rate. Here's an item: my phone bill. It was 30 bucks in 2017 and it's still 30 bucks now. It has not inflated at all.
>>11735975And TVs are exponentially cheaper than they were in decades prior. I'm not denying that there are exceptions to the rule, but when you look at pricing of most products, they've increased. Housing, food, necessities, all across the board have skyrocketed well beyond the inflation rate. This was kind of a huge talking point during the last election cycle that they're now brushing under the rug to fund another war for Israel.I'm sorry but it's super weird that you guys think toys increasing at a price higher than inflation exists in a total vacuum and that it isn't happening with everything.
>>11735978All I said was it wasn't "everything" increasing at a higher rate like >>11735827 said. Some things definitely increase above rate of inflation just as others are below.
>>11735978>I'm sorry but it's super weird that you guys think toys increasing at a price higher than inflation exists in a total vacuum and that it isn't happening with everything./toy is really not beating the allegations that they only buy toys while their elderly parents still buy everything else for them. You can tell who still lives at home.
>>11736005So do you think there's a conspiracy by those who calculate the inflation rate and everything including toys are skyrocketing while almost nothing is under the rate?
>>11736014It's not some big conspiracy that every company out there decided to go full mask off with their greed.
>>11736033Companies don't calculate the rate of inflation, anon. If every company decided to raise their prices to the moon, the inflation rate would reflect that.
>>11736053Stop arguing for the sake of arguing you autistic buttbaby.
>>11734712>>11734716Funnily enough I got a video of that on my youtube feedhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6T_YqKVdJ0
New Thread:>>11736173>>11736173>>11736173
>>11736070Arguing against inaccurate statements is shouted down on /toy/, I'll make a note of that.
>>11736203Nothi9ng I've said is inaccurate. Vast majority of products are well beyond the inflation rate. Toys don't exist in a vacuum, they're not the only thing going up in price.
>>11736232I don't think you looked at the pricing on the vast majority of items before making that claim
>>11737498Are you implying that prices haven't gone up exponentially? When was the last time you bought groceries anon?
>>11737608Im not implying anything other than what I said. You're making outsized, exaggerated claims for what prices you have actually sampled.
