>>11729546Yeah, I've been railing on Diaclone for their puke colored TM sets for a while now. These sets look sharp. But it kinda just annoys me even more, being reminded that TT can still make good looking color schemes
>>11729546So tempted to get Legioss Alpha, but already have the blue one preordered and starting to run out of space
>>11729998Love the drone cockpit. But kinda wish that Delta came with the heavy guns and Alpha came with the disc shield.
vaguely on topic bump, Tsukushi Akihito, mangaka for Made In Abyss, revealed that he is a Diaclone enjoyer on a recent live stream. I just thought that was interesting
>>11734392
>>11729546THAT OLD LULLABY!
>>11729546Any chances Takara will do Invid/Inbit mecha for Toyrise Mospeada? I know Jap companies tend avoid doing villains but Takara has already done several Waruder mecha for the Diaclone Reboot, so there's a chance, right?
>>11735575Do they have a core design they can make 30 variations from?
>>11735802Still a bit crazy that a Bomberman spinoff marble shooter succeeded Braves' TV slot and toys back then.
>>11735802
Why is Diaclone kill? Did Dia-Battles X-1 flop that badly?
>>11738002Don't know, maybe they're just shifting focus to other T-SPARK lines.Going to 30MM, the Acerby Type-X is getting its pre-orders opened just today in non-Japanese countries, so if anyone's interested, go for it.
>>11738031Transformers Overgear is the new Diaclone(kinda) line
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INZ4lAzuKMU
>>11738002I remember seeing some X-1 prototypes that seemed to be inspired by the V2 variants from a decade ago. Hopefully those get made soon.
>>11738002If I'm being synical, I'd say that they really just wanted to do a GRB, and now that its finished, they don't really care about the rest of the line. But realistically i think price hikes killed a lot of the hype. Feels like TT jacked the prices up in everything by on everything by like 20% for the same amount of toy. They're trying to disguise that by making all their sets bigger. I'm not sure if there's a word for it, but it's like the opposite of shrinkflation. "Yeah, it costs more, but just look at how much stuff is in this box." But realistically, all they are doing is inflating the price twice, and that's before importing fees and scalper markup. That shit's just not going to fly in the current global economy. People just don't have an extra $200 laying around to drop on a single tiny robot
>>11738002My theory is that they stopped investing in Battles/Buffalo-type sets once they realized they can profit more by catering to army/base builders. That’s why they keep releasing boring vehicles and the same Versaulter with alternate accessories and colors—their core market will by 3+ copies of every variant.
>>11738761if they want to sell army builders then why don't they fucking color match but instead sell everything in a different shade of grey every time and where are my fucking cosmo marines REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Might as well ask hereHow is 30mm compatibility with Gundam Markers? I've never painted anything before but really want to customize mine without the complication of paints. Would I still need a primer?
>>11739055Should work fine. I've seen plenty of store listings that use panel liner markers to make the details show better. Not sure what brand of panel liners they are using, but it's all bandai plastic, so I assume it will be fine
>>11739055Works for panel-lining and small pea-sized areas but not full recoloring of pieces. You need primer if painting light colors over dark plastic, else the base color will bleed through. i.e. yellow on dark blue plastic = green
Zoids, but also Evangelion. Fun lore on the back - according to the little story, a pair of Zoids cores somehow crashed into the Antarctic, where they were discovered by NERV; the cores resonated with some spare parts intended to be used for maintenance on the Evangelion units and built themselves new bodies, and now NERV is deploying them alongside the actual units to fight Angels. These guys get their own versions of the Eva's Palette Rifles and Progressive Knives that they can hold in their little T-Rex hands, plus shoulder pylon weapon racks.Haven't started building them yet, but these boxes are surprisingly heavy despite not being very big.
>>11739118>but not full recoloring of pieces.Taking your advice, but any particular reason why?
>>11739199The marker paint is too thick to level out so you'll get brush strokes, hence pea-sized areas where you can cover in 1~3 strokes.
>>11739230yeah, they're basically good for eyes, panel lines, small metallic bits and areas with (small) stickers.anything else is just too big and you will see the lines
>>11739055>>11739112Yeah I've had no issues using them for panel lining. I want to learn the intricacies of painting more some day when I have a better workspace for it but panel lining is an excellent starter point and what i'd recommend is either pour type markers or the really fine ones. Pour type is easiest to manage - you can wipe off most mistakes and it's almost self-applying to a point. It's a simple detail but it makes a world of difference. So far I've got a handle on panel lining and water app decals but I think I'll need to figure painting out eventually.

wow they are finally releasing the 3rd Beastdrive shark and it's 3 colorways at oncehttps://weibo.com/5736342019/QwVjX43pz
>>11739469But the frame is sold separately this time.
Gai is out, and he's looking a little short.
>>11739469https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1dWwjzZEgm/They come with a suckerfish buddy, those fishes that hang around whales and sharks.
>>11739469>>11739579So it's a whale shark with a bonus remora? That's neat, but...why the hell would they sell the frame separately? Or does the frame come with the default color, and the two coloraways are just armor bundles like the BotCon raptor one was?
>>11739737All separate armor. I don't mind this release pattern, it allows them to release multiple colorways for each mold at once instead of waiting years for repaints. Hope this means the bat mobiles (multiple) is on the way too.
>>11739538Had no idea they would be the same height as the sisters. I had assumed 30MF height.
>>1173999530Minute brand is completely fucked in terms of scale. I don't even know why they have all these different lines under the same name, when they are so incompatible with different scales and joint design
>>11739995The girl is on the taller end, but yeah Gai is surprisingly short.>>11739996They're under the same line because they're all designed with ease of building in mind and use of 3mm joints.
Got a couple of these guys headed my way soon, will post pics when they arrive
>>11740432hope they're good, I'm not gonna go through the hassle of importing them but I'm very tempted to grab some when they make it stateside
>>11740523I got my set a few days ago and yeah, they are excellent. I tend to prefer the simpler Xenostrike design and I would have liked other weapons rather than gun 1, gun 2 gun 3 and gun 3 but slightly more squared but like the Xenostrike they are so fun to pose and build that these are small nitpicks. I've only built the Tan and Blue ones so far and will probably wait a bit before building the rest.
>>11740579do they have cockpit interiors like the other 3minute sets? I can't really tell from listings I've seen
>>11740663No, like with the Xenostrike, I'm pretty sure these are intended as 1/18-ish robots, not mechs, so no cockpit or compatibility with their pilots . LEGO minifigure for scale.
>>11740663>>11740671The joints are compatible with Fortishield, right? Have you tried switching the torso cockpit over?
>>11740876The regular mechs from 3MIN Project is like the only thing in Sheik Mainland I'm not interested in, so I can't tell you, sadly.

>>11740903>>11740876Check the instruction sheet if you havn't tossed it already. it might have a diagram for compatible ball joints
>>11744052I checked and there are no information on the instructions. I would imagine that the wrists and neck are 4mm as well and the rest of the balljoints are 6mm but I can't confirm. Also, it's funny that the mech on the right has pretty much the same exact head design as the Fenrir.

>>11746619>Watching unboxings of this>One of the unboxing is literally trash talking another unboxer who is trash talking over this toyWhat a strange circumstances.
>>11747490That applies to the whole Toyrise doesn't it? There's like a whole segment of reviewers that don't "get it" and compare Toyrise to SOCs, MPs , Yamato/Arcadia, etc complaining about show accuracy and the lack of diecast. Then there's a whole other side with the likes of Wotafa who are filled with such joy when reviewing them.
>>11747672I've seen plenty of people say they like them, but their main complaint is how expensive they are, specially compared to the "premium lines".
>>11745981Looking back at the original armor designs, they seem to only need like one minor parts swap if converted to the 30MF style, which is enough to make me stick to the brand. Anyone agree with me when I say I want the originals in the 30MF line? I mean, every single one of them showed up in the finale, which is enough drive to warrant kits, to the point where even the new Seiji VA (who also happened to voice Zero in Mega Man X, and also an avid model kit builder, by the way) wanted the same as I do.
I honestly don't get Takara Tomy leaning into Microman, it has far more niche appeal compared to Diaclone.
>>11748015>Expensive/premium linesToyrise technically speaking is takara's premium lineHaving both the two Gar and the new MPG primeI would say in term of the quality, the gars are clearly superior for the fact that they took heavy play into accountThe new MPG already have paint damages out of the box just from factory workers had to transform the figure into truck from bot just to be put into the box. Where main Toyrise figures are mostly paint free and have no such issues. I still have no idea of Japan's ocd over paint when companies can't really deliver with the price they are asking. Like all the fuss about MP shockwaves lack of paint. The next MP Megatron/MP 44 prime were a nightmare to transform because the paint can be scratchedAnd you paid like 250~300 for them?
>>11748015>>11748920I've got the genesic gaogaigar; its basically a studio series transformer with some more paint and screws, i can appreciate the idea of making actual toys instead of collectibles but yeah I think a lot of people willing to pay these prices are just not looking for that
>>11729546>Snap ShipsAre they still making sets? I have a couple of them, and am curious they're doing.
>Dia-Battles X-1 with drills, AMBAC arms and visorGee, thanks Takara Tomy.
>>11750834lol, nope. Discontinued several years ago. No more new sets. But on the bright side, you can get some sets for pretty fucking cheap off amazon. I bought 3 of the big Claymore mother ship sets a couple years ago for xmas. 2 to donate to the local toy drive, and the other was for meThey did try to pivot into a tabletop game, which does look kinda neat. But it also seems kinda stupidly expensive, and it's capped at just the smaller fighters. They never got around to making cards/expansions to fight with the bigger ships
>>11750837The asymetrical shoulders were kind throwing me off. But the more I look at it, I think it's a quad-arm design. the shoulder flips 180 to swap out the driller arms with the robot arms, and the robot arm hands flip to swap to guns/engines. The gun/engines seem to have an acrylic insert(possibly LEDs as well?). Might have some pretty cool vehicle modes. But this set still seriously disappoints me greatly. I understand the entire lore of Diaclone revolves around mining magic space metal asteroids. But the fact that they are doing a Space Type set with drills, instead of a separate Space Attack Type and a Driller Type shows that they are loosing confidence in the Diaclone line as a whole. They're not really planning 4 or 5 releases ahead anymore. This X-1 Space Type IS their next 4 releases if they think they can part it out like they did the last X-1.
30 Minutes Label stream on 5/26
>>11748878They were trying to give it the diaclone reboot treatment with project M before turning it into Altered nano. This seems like they're testing the waters with legacy soul. Too bad the QC sucks so far.>>11751600I wouldn't say losing confidence but more so losing steam. The lines been going on for a decade now with little to no expanded media. They've teased some battle plan last fall and still no word. I like it so far but I now its going to be expensive as hell

>>11753401At a glance, it almost looks like they are going to attempt their own snapships type cube builder system. The different blocks are color coded to show the different block types and how they might interconnect.>orange: 3 balls one socket>yellow: 2 and 2>green: 1 ball 3 sockets>pink: all socketsBlue one looks kinda weird tho. Not really sure what that's supposed to be. Maybe 2 sockes, 1 ball, and a peg connection?
>>11753865From the color it looks like they screwed up and had the blue and green ones clipping but idk
>>11753875Maybe. I was originally thinking the blue ones were a 2 and 2 corner piece, but it didn't really look right. Might just be a preliminary exploration of the idea, and they havn't really got it planned out very well yet, hence why some of the balls are clipping into eachother
Sometimes, I get the thought "Why did I spend so much money on a hunk of plastic" but then I look up and see how cool it looks and all is forgiven.
Tried out the new Mugenbine Musou toys, volume 02. They're fun, but a pain to keep together, especially in larger builds. I think I just need more time getting used to them, before I can get anything solid built. Here's the first one I tried, not too bad, but look at it wrong and it falls apart!
>>11755281First one collapsed. Tried again. Not the best plastic for connections.

>>11757006>under licensor approvalWell that's interesting. Could be some kind of crossover. They just did a crossover with Samurai Trooper crossover. I don't recognize it, but there a million fucking fantasy dragons that I probably wouldn't recognize.
>>11757006The samurai guy on the bandai website has the same thing.
>>11756660>30 CYenlel, that has to be the down payment. I'm actually curious to see what the final price will bee, as an indicator of just how much TT has inflated their prices over just a couple years. Also, are you sure it's actually a reissue? If it's just one shop, it could easily just be a pallet or 2 of new-old stock that someone found in a storage unit or something (possibly a scalper who over extended by buying 50 or 60 sets, expecting they could resell them at 2-3x markup). I saw something similar last year when BBTS reopened the pre-orders for TM01. But as far as I know, the only set that TT reissued for sure was Grand Dion, just before the Cloud Across release>>11756749You should have bought a POP01
>>11757058this is from bandai's global 30MF website>>11757092samurai troopers is an established IP so I get why they would need it>>11757089i doubt that's the case. it's labeled Dlrowyvern which means it is original in the 30MF line (since they live in the DLRO world)

>>11757452lol, it's really not. I recently pulled mine out of the box again to play around with it. and every time I try to flip out the back peg, the hinge pieces pop out because the tolerances are so fucked. not sure if I need to try getting a little dab of superglue in there, or if it just needs a little dry lube in there so the tab doesnt rub as much
>>11758529i like the idea of the blank figure, and the armor upgrade sets seem like a cool idea for /mrg/.
