Just be careful if you plan on displaying it above your sewer lair.

This is actually from before the holidays, so some of the stuff in this POL is for my /toy/ Secret Santa assignment.

I'm building a new pile of loot right this minute but nothing I can't wait on for another 4-6 week.

And speaking of BBTS - do they do a Memorial Day or any other sales before/besides Labor Day (do they do LD or am I remember EE and not BBTS) and Black Friday/Winter Clearance? I mean they still have a lot of their Winter Clearance stuff up but if I didn't get some of this crap in December, not sure if even the current price make it desirable - but it might at dirt cheap. It's stuff I want for the head or other fodder parts.

>>11729619
>>11729624
Yep, that's a lot.
I spend that kind of money but not at one spot and not really on one thing. I mean, I probably spent about $200 in miscellaneous fodder heads, weapons, hands, bodies, etc. at eBay, but that was like 8 different shipments between $18 and $40-$50 each once you had to add the postage and other fees.
>>
Probably the lightest order I've had in some time.
>>
>>11729653
Wouldn't dream of it, anon. The foam might bow.
>>
>>11729753
I'm buying three cases but they are all discounted and all small figures, so it's not more 'things' in that sense and not more money than yours. And probably won't weight too much more, given they are all sub 4" figures.

But I'm still going to add 1-3 things before I ship. I have credit there and I doubt I have the patience to hold on to store credit till the summer movies and pre-holiday stuff comes out.

Normally my BBTS orders these days are very G.I. Joe heavy, but somehow this one came out as almost all fantasy figures.

>>11729650
It's a nice display piece, but it really needs some 3rd party accessories to shine. I'd suggest keeping an eye on Abisai3dForge's store, he makes some 3d printed stuff that work well with the street scene. I got the door and street light bits and they're very nice, also found some boards and blinds on ebay from someone else that fit over the windows. Still need to find some internal support beams though, the top shelf of that thing can barely hold itself up, let alone hold figures. Might even try to add some internal lighting so I can display figures inside the building and you'd actually be able to see em.

Just pose and display on shelves.

I may do that eventually, they're clusterfucks right now, I gotta get another shelf.

>I usually buy like one thing every month, so I don't overdo it because space.
I don't buy too much per month; these shipments are combinations of preorders going back almost a year in some situations. I usually don't ship until an item is going to be shipped automatically, because it's 90 days in pile of loot are up.

And I wait because I would like to get as much as possible in one shipment, like if there's a figure or whatever about to be released, I'd rather wait for it to go to pol over shipping what I have, and then new item appears in pol after I shipped.

OP here. I have a closet with all this displayed nicely on shelves. I pose, play, photograph, and review. I can fully admit to having "too much" but all the dudes I bought are things I've been looking forward to for a long while and aren't just an impulse purchase. I also have not placed an order like this in some time.

Well, of my order here >>11730177:
>Budo, Donner Party, Deepsea Manhunter and Upgrade kit are still in boxes waiting to be opened
>Grimsword and Kier were stored with my misc fantasy figure collection
>Skeleton Rat is binned the rest of my growing skeleton horde
>Spawn Blood Axe figure and Witcher were stripped for parts and dumped in junk figure storage
>Spawn Blood Axe Horse is on my Mythic Legion's mounted shelf being ridden by Gorgo Arethyrblade
>Valgard 2 was used to create two figures, currently on play desk waiting to be moved to storage.
>Shuma Gorath is currently hanging off the side of TV, watching me creepily

I admittedly have WAY too many figures, so a lot of em get stored away until I decide to bust em out. Right now I've been on a huge Mythic Legions kick, so my entire desk has been covered by them for the better part of six months. It's only over the past week have I started to disarm and store them away to make room for the next collection I'll play with (most likely Classified, still have a lot of new ones to open).

One day I'll be able to renovate my basement and have WAY more room for displays. But as of right now, I have a half a wall and a single detolf to work with, so most stuff has to wait their turn.

>>11730321
I love when BBTS just starts dumping things for cheap, I remember getting an entire heard of Jurrassic World Dinos for like $3-6 a pop, the box they were shipped in roared for like five minutes when I brought it in my house.

>>11730354
Are you me? I have all of those figures except the SWB figure. Liya is really fun, but her tail is huge and can be difficult to deal with. Also be careful with her smaller tools, they fall out of her belt ALL the time. I saw someone suggest sticky tack at the bottom of the slots so I might try that at some point.
>>
>>11730425
Someone got me one of the Cosmic Legions figure the last Secret Santa we had here, and I liked it enough to pick up another one. Lots of nice accessories and detail, but I wish they had better articulation.

Lado toys figures are pretty nice, and the definition of "I'm not a furry, buuuuut..." I haven't opened Liya yet, but she's cute and I already POed her Chinese dress version.

And never can have enough Joes. The Night Vipers and Sci-Fi turned out really good. I even picked up a third Night Viper since I came across a bunch of the new wave at Walmart a day or two ago.

>Neca street scene diorama
I was planning on building a Fortress of Solitude from bit of the Spin Master Yeti and other parts, and a spare of the McFarlane that only cost me $5.99 at Ross. Someone did some with foam and other crap on line and it looked simple and doable. But once I get that done and it looks decent enough, I plan to take those lessons and try to make a street diorama like the NECA - MOSTLY so that it doesn't look like everyone else's fucking backdrop.

>try to add some internal lighting so I can display figures inside the building and you'd actually be able to see em.
I've been saving some of the really pristine clam shell display boxes, one even already has the shape of a Victorian window box and I just need to add some painted balsa wood to make it look like window panels.

You could probably install some of those cabinet shelves IKEA lights inside which was my thought.

From early last year.
I have 2 things sitting my pile of loot that arrived after multiple delays and I have 4 things on pre-order that have also had multiple delays
>>
>>11730524
Yea, Legions figures can be a bit stiff compared to most modern lines, but I feel they get enough range for what I need. Newer figures will start to feature double joints and butterfly shoulders and all that, but I think I honestly prefer how they are now as I was never a fan of how those types of joints look.

And lucky you finding Night Vipers in an actual store. Only thing I see at my local shops are the Steeler/Short Fuse two pack and *maybe* a Law and Order set. I get all of my Joes online these days, no stress about missing the good figures that way.

>>11730592
Man, I wish I had space to set up more Dios, even my Street Scene barely fits in the spot I have it and I can't even get figures on the top shelf as my TV overhangs it. But your ideas sound cool, hopefully they turn out well and you share some pics when you're done.

As for lights, I could easily just use some cheap LED strips or something since you won't really see em inside the building. But I was hoping to find some actual warehouse styled drop lights or something. I remember seeing em all over a few years back but for the life of me I can't find anything now. All the scaled lights are all doll house victorian style stuff and not what I'm after. But that's really not a pressing project for me, as I have plenty of other shelves that could use better lighting I'd rather work on first.

>And I wait because I would like to get as much as possible in one shipment - I'd rather wait for it to go to pol over shipping what I have

I think this is most people.
Except some people here can't understand patience OR this kind of budgeting.
I hate paying for postage or shipping above anything else.

>>11730194
>Post pictures of your collection if you dont mind?
No one wants to post pictures of their stuff and if they do, it tends to be in a contained thread where the entirety of the thread is quite ready to bounce on and beat back asshole trolls and shit posters. Sadly, even in a thread like this, or any of the GENs, people have been burned over it.
They don't mind.
They've learned to regret doing it, in some circumstances.

Also, why does anyone need to prove anything to some rando on-line. Aren't these screen caps of actual purchases sufficient?
Yes, people have unopened boxes, some of them sitting in closets or other storage. And yes people have unopened boxes, some of them sitting with other unopened boxes inside even bigger boxes.
I'm one of those people but I don't think I have a problem, there are no stacks of unopened toys that I am working my way through to get to the bathroom or the front door.
No one is going to find my dead body, eaten by rats because even the rats couldn't eat through painted ABS plastic.

Thanks for the ideas on ways to customize that Street scene.
My only complaint with it is that everybody uses it. It's why I want to try to come up with my own.
We really should have a diorama general at least once in a blue moon.
>>
>>11730624
>Man, I wish I had space to set up more Dios
I don't really have the space. I plan to get rid of a lot of my collection I'm not displaying and focus it down. I also just plan on making scenes, which means making dioramas, and photographing them and keeping them up. I have the tops of three cabinets for dioramas so 1 or 2 would be fairly permanent or rotate, and and another could change more frequently. Yes, it is as crowded as it sounds and I might put one cabinet in the living room and just display statutes on it and nothing on the top.

I might also make stuff with the idea that I would photograph it and maybe display it for a bit but eventually sell it.

I want to try to remember what was fun about this hobby and doing things like a dios will actually use skills I study for at school but never used in work. I still have shit like brushes, paint and x-acto knives from college that never see the light of day other than the random one-off thing.

I hear more negative stuff about BBTS, Ali Express and then about the other import sellers - although a lot of that is shipping, tariff and similar drama.

But no one ever talks about other toy sellers. Where the love or hate for say Entertainment Earth?

I'll give you 10 cents per dollar of BBTS store credit you were given for cancelling your pre-orders that you totally did not make this morning, to cancel this afternoon.

You don't get charged at bbts until your pre-order ships. No store credit involved.
>>
>>11739743
So then how exactly were you scammed, sister?
These non-existent pre-orders you made non-existently took your payment that BBTS did not charge you on your non-existent pre-orders?
They refused to issue you the store credit on the payment they did not take out of your credit card?
Where's the scam, sister?

Does anyone order from BBTS year round to remember if they do a sale around Prime Day like so many other e-commerce sites?
I think I only remember Labor Day and Black Friday/Holiday sales?

>>11740516
Apologies then
I haven't ordered an import from BBTS (well - let me clarify, I have bought imports like Kotos/Hexa-Gear, etc., but those were IN STOCK).
But I haven't done an import pre-order with them.
But i know people who have who were charged a cancellation fee before the toy shipped UNLESS they took it in store credit in which case they do get a full refund. But this was months after the fact.
This was a Mafex, in both cases, if that matters.

I myself have cancelled something off a pile of loot because I decided to buy the case elsewhere.
So I took it in full store credit to not pay the "restock fees."
But I am totally fine with store credit because I'll use it up. The last two things I added to my POL were actually paid by store credit and I probably won't eat it up before I have to ship in the next 15 or so days and let it sit.
>>

I appreciate the cheap shipping and the pile of loot also makes sense to me
when I am forced to buy from people off ebay, I try to find someone who had a few things I want and ask for combined shipping - BBTS pile of loot is conceptually the same thing

I deeply dislike the bald billionaire and think Crapazom and Walmart are hell holes that ruined this country but I still will take advantage of free shipping, promo codes and whatever else I can get from 'em to get the crap I want.

It doesn't I'm going to waste any time or energy hating or loving a fucking store.
