wtf did they do to buzz and woody? they look like creepy 5 nights at freddys animatronics
They aren't allowed to male them look 1:1 because that would be breaking a law about not having toys in movies. Its why buzz and woody dolls always have weird faces or differences in their designs so they dont look exactly like the movie toys.
>>11733730That law is retarded
>>11733730Shut up retard

>>11733887Notice it still isn't 1:1 the Buzz inside is also significantly different than movie Buzz. >>11733908I was answering OP's question which is a general question which applies to anything. Another good example is the Patchy's fake SpongeBob toys. They had to use fake stuff because they aren't allowed to advertise real toys.
what "law" is this exactly? Isn't this something that just affects Card Games like Yugioh?
>>11733730>>11734064Explain? 1:1 LEGO Death Star in Spider-Man Homecoming
>>11733683SHF Buzz is best Buzz anyway
>>11734084>Pg-13 movieLaw works differently for that. It will likely not play on kids channels so they dont have to follow the fcc guidelines for kid content. If they were planing to play this on Disney channel or another kid network theyd likely not film this scene or edit it out later for the broadcast.>>11734081Yugioh cards are visually different from duel monster cards in america for that reason.
>>11733922>The world will never trust rightoights ever again*laughs in Nixon**laughs in Reagan**laughs in Bush*>>11733683The eyes are a little uncanny, the new Mario figures have the same issue I feel
Illumination Super Mario tier shit.
>>11734288Sounds Kino
>>11734228Dame i hate the fcc now
>>11733683woody looks like Norman Bates
>>11734084I can't believe they made a Lego set based on that really old movie.
>>11733683They look worse than these guys
>>11733730That's not actually a law. Otherwise how would the real toys in Toy Story be allowed to exist within the movies (Mr. Potato Head, Barbie, Slinky Dog, Speak & Spell, Etch-a-Sketch, Chatter Phone, See N' Say, green army men, magic 8 ball, barrel of monkeys, etc.)?
>>11734439>KinoUgly boring as fuck flick.
>>11735490>Potato Head, Barbie, Slinky Dog, Speak & Spell, Etch-a-Sketch, Chatter Phone, See N' Say, green army men, magic 8 ball, barrel of monkeysMost of those are generic enough to be considered safe like a basketball or modified from their real world versions look at Potato head. Its more or less a law because of fcc enforcement but youre right it isnt a traditional law. You could make a movie with real world toys in a similar manner but you would be unable to play it on most kids tv channels. Again look at the Spider-Man movie with the death star. They knew that pg 13 movie wasnt going to be on kids networks so they didnt care about putting real world toys in there.
>>11734064Wrong. That scene contains a toy of Patrick sitting on one of the purple rocks from the show that would squeak when squeezed that I distinctly owned as a kid.
>>11733730There is no such law you fucking liar
>>11736301The purple rock in the show isnt the actual toy. The toy is a toy version of that rock.>>11736311Again it's more or less a law because of the FCC. If you want your film to be shown on kids programming you have to follow their rules.
>>11733730>that would be breaking a law about not having toys in moviesthe old revoltech evas literally use the same 3d models as the ones used in the movie you fucking FAGGOT
>>11733730oh shit guys i think ive seen this TOY IRLMOOOM CALL THE COPSSSSS AUUGHHH
>>11735919>Most of those are generic enough to be considered safe like a basketball or modified from their real world versions look at Potato headBut they're not generic, outside of the green army men they're all trademarked and owned by a company that had to approve their use in Toy Story. Also Potato Head is the only one different from its real life counterpart, they made the eyes separate pieces and added eyebrows for more expressive emoting
>>11733730There is some sort of law about advertising to children on tv (can’t remember the specifics) I think you’re confusing it with that
Just when I thought modern buzz lightyears couldn't look any weirder.Modern Buzz Lightyears you'd find at Disneyland or in the official Disney stores look like weird Chinese bootlegs. The head sculpt in particular is what throws me off. It looks off and barely resembles the actual character.Which is incredibly strange because modern versions of literally every other Toy Story character look so cute and full of life. Especially woody, hes my favorite of the bunch. Did they just not care enough to pour that same amount of attention and energy for Buzz Lightyear? Damn.
>>11741012>Modern Buzz Lightyears you'd find at Disneyland or in the official Disney stores look like weird Chinese bootlegs.thisIt makes me so mad.I have two Toy Story Thinkway Toy Buzz'es but damn i would be so much more upset if i didn't.It was so perfect. It's super heavy and super smart - it can do lots of things and has tons of phrases. But out of the sudden in 2026 we have this AWFUL ugly ass head mold...here i tried to draw what i mean.PS:this robotic buzz from OP's post is...some pedo-grandpa-cursed-devil garbage...I won't even touch it.If you want Buzz just go buy Toy Story Collection Thinkway Toy Buzz that came during Toy Story 3. It's the only one that worth money (and the most expensive one but it's LITERALLY THE BEST)
>>11733730Wow that’s retarded if they make a stupid face it’s okay?
>>11733730>a law about not having toys in moviesThat's not real. If you think it is, go ahead and post the actual law you have in mind. The CTA certainly does not say that and does not apply to movies at all. They don't make 1:1 toys because it's simply more profitable not to. Each toy is designed to appeal in its own way while being cheap enough to still make money. That's it. Most of the time it's not even possible to be completely faithful, but even when it is why would they bother? No one making decisions would want a perfect replica for sale. It would be too expensive for the general public to buy en masse, and it would reduce the amount of slop fans would gobble up because once they owned that perfect version most wouldn't really need any others. Continuous releases of good enough will sustain a franchise for decades. >>11733683>they look like creepy 5 nights at freddys animatronicsBecause they kind of are in this case. The eyes are sunk back to leave room for the mechanical eyelids, the faces lack proper sculpting because they're thin flexible masks over articulated jaws that move out of sync with the voices. It's kind of impressive to pack that kind of tech into a $60 toy but in this case everyone knows the source so well that any flaws make them uncanny.
