Parents sold/threw away all my lego while I was at uniSo many memories gone... FUCK
>>11746064Why didn't you tell them to not do that? Wtf, your parents suck.
My parents did that so I stole the living room tv and dumped it in another neighborhood.
>>11746064meh, you can start to collect it here and there, it's fun to find stuff and rebuild the collection
>>11746064
>>11746064>So many memories gone...Make new ones. I believe in you.
>>11746080>>11746148>>11746152Dont listen to these dipshits. Do what every self respecting person your age does and stop talking to them for a decade
>>11746064They saved you now move on
>>11746064show them pictures of rare legos that go for like way too much money and rub it in their face they threw away some easy big money or whatevereven if you weren't ever planning on actually selling them or didn't actually have any valuable ones the thought should be enough to make them feel like idiots cause they don't know betterBut seriously your parents suck. Usually when your kids go to uni normal loving parents keep their rooms stuck in time waiting for you to come back...
>>11746064>>11746228Reminds me of the story of the Black Lotus.
>>11746234I haven't heard of that one. What is it about?
>>11746064I feel you bro. My parents did this to all my collections. The Lego and Mighty Max hurt the most. My mom also mocked me to my face when I tried to explain why I was upset by it. And they wonder why I don't want to be around them anymore.
this thread is making me sad I really feel bad for you people that had to deal with that sorta stuff
>>11746226I disagree. While the circumstances aren’t ideal, letting go of things physically is part of growing up. People shouldn’t purge your collections without your consent, but for OP this isn’t the end, life will go on for him and everyone else. I know we here love our toys but they’re just pieces of plastic. Even if we’re never able to get rare or discontinued sets we once had we can always get new or secondhand pieces of plastic to have fun with later. Life is too short to lament your parents throwing out your childhood toys and thus you cut off contact with them. Should he forgive them and act like everything’s sunshine and rainbows? No. But there are far worse things parents do to their adult kids that merit estrangement. At least they didn’t euthanize his pets.
Kek what a faggot, Same shit happened to The pokemon kids you aren't special. All you can do now is rebuy them no point in crying about it. Love your parents and the memories they gave you.
>>11746485>love your parents >when they don't love you enough to even ask you before throwing shit out
>>11746348I can't find the greentext, but basically, this one anon was really into Magic the Gathering, in the 90s, and had amassed this huge collection of cards, including the rare and valuable "Black Lotus". Eventually they stop playing and, I believe, went off to college or something, I can't remember. However, while the anon was away, they had left their MtG collection at their parents' house, where their mom proceeds to sell said collection for about $50. The anon returns to the house and looks for his old cards. The mom tells him what she did with them, and the anon is, naturally upset. He, then, proceeds to show his mom how much the cards were worth, and as soon as she saw what the Black Lotus was going for, she broke down and started crying. Lessons were definitely learned, that day.
>>11746064Quit exaggerating, OP. Memories don’t disappear when the subject(s) of them are physically removed. That’s like saying you have no memories of your granny now that she passed away. Cherish your memories but as >>11746152 said make new ones.
>>11746582I was talking to this one girl back in 2018, she was ranting about her shitty ex. In the end he ended up cheating on her, she got her payback. His dumbass forgot they lived together so she grabbed a couple of his things and his MTG collection which had 2 black lotuses. Sold all that for a fraction of the price Man I know he was mad af.
>>11746485>Love your parents and the memories they gave you.doesn't seem like they're giving him many good ones
>>11746582serves her right
>>11746064I’m 34 and still have my legos (at my parents house)The nieces and nephews love that shit during the holidays. We just dump out the bin in the rumpus room and they are content for the duration of their stay
>>11746080Yeah that's I'm doing. I have a good paying job so I can afford to buy lego every now and then. I'm actually buying used Lego in bulk :p
>>11746077Based. Parents are assholes.
>>11746064RIP bro. I had the same situation. My mum gave away my dragon ball statues and pokemon figurines when i went to work in another city. I was so devastated that i couldn't sleep that night.
My sister used to scalp lego on marketplace. She would snipe the abandoned collections and then sell them for four times the price.
>>11746474Given that the guy had a lotus in his collection, there was a high chance that the rest of his cards could have just paid for his entire time at college, and a nonzero chance it could be a down payment on a house.Right now the LOW for a single black lotus is $81,000
