>>11754795well it's cheaper than trying to buy an old one, and the trunk no longer has big stupid rubber ribbing in it. and I guess it comes with another weapon? I didn't quite grok what Anon said
>>11754831do you remember how much the reissue went for when it was first released?
Chances of a Earthrise Ironhide Prowl reissue?
>>1175483630%we are getting a three pack with Ironhide (likely the ss86 version) soon and prowl is getting a ss86 mtmte (target exclusive) release.if they reissue the earthrise pack to get some quick cash before they announce these releases officially then I honestly think that'll be better value but prowl could break in the long run with the clear plastic stuff the Datsun mold has
>>11754834I think like 40-50, but thems was 2011 dollars, so
IdkI am floating ideas hereDoes this work? Sunstreaker with breakdown gun and spoiler. The spoiler can at least be placed on the arm where as with breakdown mold there is no where to go.
MPG Hot Rod transformation video. As expected, it's SS86 Hot Rod with some tweaks from Kingdom Rodimus and a few extra steps.
>>11754942https://m.youtube.com/shorts/VIfa-6jGCsYAnd forgot the link, here you go.
I miss Core class. Newage figures are too fiddly and complicated to be fun pocket figures.
>transformers should have more paint! Paint means quality!>It's a painted sampleThat is a die cast part. Also, I don't think this guy get "sample" sample but factory production sample
>>11754966Try Dr Wu Targetmasters are cool
>>11754969There's nothing quality about that oversized Generations figure.
>>11754969He's provided with painted samples, the Delta Magnus he got was the same.
Basara Prime is extremely charming, very fun dude.
>local shop got some new stuff>only wave 1 of AOTP and some scraps from last year's SS>I own every single one I have even passing interest in alreadyOh well, there was an effort.
>>11754994What a shitty looking bot
>>11754994The lower knee joints are pretty floppy on mine, but other than that I'm liking it better than I expected. Going by the pics I wasn't sold on the design but it looks way cooler in person for whatever reason.
>>11754994Still crazy to me they went with Macross 7 of all things, it's like they were tragetting me.
>>11754966I miss all the smaller classes, especially scout class. I want to try out some Newage or Dr. Wu figures but I can't justify paying leader prices for something that small
>>11755131The lower knees on mine are a little looseygoosey too, must be by design. That and the knees being pretty stiff to tab in are the only issues I've really got with him construction-wise.
New road rage when
>>11755173I'd rather Loudpedal because man I love a black repaint
>*grumble grumble*>How come I'm the one that always gets stuck fixing whatever breaks down in this dump?>*grumble grumble*
>>11755173We just got her in Kingdom, so...probably not any time in the near future now.
wonder if we'll get a Man-o-War out of the new seaspray mold?
>>11755185>pipe down and get back to work Gears>I'm going fishing
>>11754827>it's better to think fast rather than LASTwhen are we getting an omnibot OverDrive?
>>11755194Who Is this a gobot repaint or something?
>>11755174I always wanted a second Battle Ravage. It was the only Alternators toy I ever owned and it broke on me. I grew up with BW so Russian panther head dude is the first thing I see when I think of ravage. I loved it since the Japanese toy is so rare and was my BW ravage.
>>11755161I bought newage grimlock and I love him so much but the price made me never buy anything else afterwards.
>>11755131These charactet styles are so different but they go together so well.
>>11755173>>11755174There’s a 3rd party MP scale of these coming out soon
>>11755145I would have appreciated some Macross Dynamite 7 / Kiss Players crossover, but
>>11755338i want more animal-vehicle transformersThis one is almost perfect aside from small head and the weird hip armor obscuring the knees. But for something like this, it's very impressive. One that worries less about having a fully detailed vehicle interior? That could be even better.
Was going through my old Siege stuff and ended up realizing I really like Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime better without the Cybertron wingpack/guns and head. Feels like a more fitting "upgrade" to Siege Optimus similar to how Siege Shockwave has his own upgrade parts. Head might be a bit small but overall I like the look of it this way especially if you give Siege Optimus's Axe to him. Siege was really fun.
>>11755308any of the Omnibot for that matter. We DID get the Powerdashers. what's the holdup?
>>11755194BuggymanReally, I don't get why we haven't gotten a Chug Cy-Kill and Leader-1 yet.
>>11755326yeah, based on an unused deco for G1 seaspray
>>11755194>>11755417we've already got seaspray and beachcomber, so with powerglide coming out in may there's a slim chance we get them in another go-bots 3 pack alongside bad boy
>>11755417id love to see more go-bots. actual go-bots like Crasher and not the minibot recolors which while cool aren't really their right color scheme. No idea why we can't get a black/grey Cosmos for Pathfinder (i know they're based on the old e-hobby release but I never got why those changed the colors in the first place) either way, more go-bots would be fun.
>>11755453Takara is afraid of doing actual Go-bot homages because Bandai owns those designs.
>>11755472>>11755453not that anon, but I'm thinking the same thing. If they can do Crasher, they can do others. They don't have to be perfect matches.
>>11755453I'm surprised no one else has done this, or maybe I just haven't seen it, but you can make legacy Treds (warpath) "more" gobot accurate by using his back as the front to streamline the chest. Transform him the way you normally would, but turn his hips around so they face his back, turn his head around also, the turret will stick out of the back, and rotate his arms at the elbows. Keep his butt flap down as well, to make it look like the body is extended as well. You do have to pop the hands off the mushrooms to swap them, but thats all. It's not super amazing, but at least it's something to switch up the warpath mold.
>>11755508That works quite well. If only there was a way to point the cannon up
>>11755496I think they can get away with Crasher because her tf version turns into a completely different car.Something like a black Cosmos would maybe be too close for comfort.
>>11755560I don't see how. The design is totally different. That would be like suing because Turbo is a red car and so is Sideswipe.
>>11754969Wait what do you mean we're getting a Rodimus
>>11755619we are getting an MPG *HOT ROD*. it's not rodimus. They call hot rod 'hot rodimus' (no prime) in japan. It's literally just a masterpiece scaled version of the ss86 mold but with a bit extra added to the backpack to cover the knee joints in vehicle mode. Like even down to the accessories (still better than the previous masterpiece hot rods)
>>11755622Previous Hot Rods were better than this.
>>11755622>SS86From the legs and spoiler it looked like the Kingdom mold, but from the front wheels I guess it's SS86I'm pretty happy as-is with my SS86 and Kingdom Rods though
>>11755369
best pre-WFC trilogy figures?
>>11755652I mean, I like a lot of what this does on paper, but in practice it's more 21st century western animation garbage. Those designs wouldn't be out of place in Ben 10 or uhhh.. let's stick with Ben 10.
>>11755659Are you implying Ben 10 designs are bad because if you are then fuck you
>>11755659Shut up
>>11755693okay I do like this car.>>11755687it's the best we can hope for in the 21st century, but
I think it's safe to say that Armada Optimus Prime is the most popular Super Mode Optimus in the franchise. But why is that? What did it do right that the others didn't? Even Powermaster/Ginrai, a G1 Optimus Super Mode, doesn't seem anywhere near as loved.
>>11755836Armada was really popular in general. Big ass fucking gimmick toy is my guess
>>11755836You sure? Pretty much any time I see a super mode homage, official or unofficial, powermaster/ginrai is the base
>>11754971It's par for the course with Takara. Don't pretend toonshittery was flawless. Even Missing Link (though good) has had paint issues.
>>11755631Not really.
>>11755658That's hard to answer. 2006-2012 was the peak of Transformers in general, in my opinion.
>>11755879Name three times.
>>11755836>Powermaster/Ginrai, a G1 Optimus Super Mode, doesn't seem anywhere near as loved.Because it's overshadowed by God Ginrai.
Speaking of super modesHere's DNA's kit they finally made for Hearts of Steel Prime>>11755658Energon Landmine
>>11755836transformation is shit, he's just a cube in the chest
>>11755836Media doesn't tend to treat Powermaster Prime or Super Ginrai as a super mode.In the west, the Marvel comic had Super Prime just as his regular look. Like Ultra Magnus, the inner cab bot didn't exist. In Japan, Ginrai's trailer was nominally a super mode but in practice it was just a stopgap until God Ginrai, his actual super mode.
>>11755917Well, people like Cybertron Prime and he's basically the same toy with new shoes and backpack
>>11755917Bait?
>>11755957Are you crazy? Cybertron Prime and Powermaster have nothing in common?
>>11755904>DNA's kiti thought it's hasbro vs 3rd party at first...at this point just buy a new toy.
>>11755417Could SS86 Wreck Gar be made into a decent Cy Kill? I think some 3rd parties have done something similar?
>>11755960Or someone who has no clue that the transformation design is from the 80s.
arGODa fans keep winning
>>11756030But does he include his own mini-con who FORMS HIS LANDING GEAR?
>>11755904Not interested in getting it, but hey, at least the shield looks less pathetic now.
>>11756030>comes with the Requiem Blaster teamI guess they're future-proofing for Astrotrain and Spacewarp.
>>11756030Can’t wait to see how they turn out. Also, where can I find an Armada Nemesis Prime that doesn’t cost $90?
Alright, I'm going to shave the insides of 86 Laserbeak and Buzzsaw's feet so they actually fit on Soundwave's arm. What's the proper way to go about this?
>>11756067I’m assuming Spacewarp is more likely since Astrotrain came with a different set of Mini-Cons>>11756070>Also, where can I find an Armada Nemesis Prime that doesn’t cost $90?Just do what I’m doing and wait for it to go to outlet on Hasbro Pusle. The same thing happened to the Powerlinx Hot Shot exclusive
>>11756084Aren't Spacewarp and Astrotrain identical aside from the head, anyway?
>>11756089The colors were different shades.
>>11756030>inb4 Astroscope is a quality control nightmare like Jetstorm
>>11756030>three MiniConsSomehow I saw this coming.
>>11756030He always had to come with something extra seeing as he is the equivalent of prime's trailer but this is more than I expected, I was hoping for Comettor and some blast effects, Sparkplug if we were lucky. I still hope we are getting Comettor though.
>>11756030If Jetfire sucks, I'm going to throw the biggest tard tantrum.
>>11756103I hope they're at least compatible in alt mode like the old ones were.
Any other jet or shuttle transformer I can use to deploy from Magnus was tempted to get blastoff.
>>11756103>like JetstormWho
>>11756176uhh... galaxy shuttle?
>>11756185Would prefer something g1.
>>11756187Micromaster space shuttle guys
>>11756176They have to be teasing Missing Link Aerialbots, aren’t they? How will the modernized articulation work for Superion?
Wild just what Hands can do for a Figure
>>11755984>at this point just buy a new toy.seriously. but then it wouldn't be allowed.. at this point, I'm convinced they're in cahootz. I'm so sick of seeing binnismen just openly embrace what they always used to be accused of doing in secret.
>>11756030>Requiem BlasterSo how badly are they going to fuck it up? That Star Saber that came with Armada Nemesis was horrible and Jetstorm had a nasty habit of snapping whenever you tried to transform him.
>>11756305that looks like a fuckin hairdryergrips are important, it can't just look like it's floating over the hand.
>>11756305>Jetstorm had a nasty habit of snapping whenever you tried to transform him.Holy fucking hamhands! Mine is fine.
>>11755991I would think so. They have a very similar transformation.
>>11755963I think he means it’s barely a change from his regular mode. Just shows a d a jetpack, and some changes in the head
>>11756326Your personal experiences are not automatically universal, nor are you automatically better than other people.Jetstorm's breakage issues are well-known and documented.
Jtprime has been teasing a bunch of upcoming figures. As far as I can tell these are all the ones he’s said:>Rook>Viper>Barricade>Nightbird>Skyfire>Alpha Bravo>Wildrider>Breakaway>Goldfire>Lugnut>Scoop>Guzzle>Snarl>Nautica>SlashI’m sure there are more that I’ve missed
>>11756229Yeah, they sure come in handy.
>>11756398Breakaway is conspicuous. Nexus Prime limb, Getaway with a different name again, or CW Blast Off airplane mode so that all four CW strange limbs are reproduced?
>>11756411Disregard the third. I realized it didn't have Offroad in the list.
>>11756411>Breakaway is conspicuousAlso considering they just released a Breakaway, the soccer guy
>>11756417i want one that turns into a Big Pig
>>11756398>RookI've really been hoping for a G2 Rook but i'm going to assume it's CW Rook since Alpha Bravo is also mentioned here.
>>11756398>machines>screamIf it’s who I think it is there is absolutely NO WAY they’re starting off Beast Machines with him of all characters, you’d think they’d start off with a Vehicon of all characters
>>11756411My assumption is that it’s either Getaway or a Nexus limb, though there’s a much funnier option as well>>11756421It’s probably Universe Rook because we just got Windcharger and we don’t have any of the Protectobots yet
>>11756424perhaps their thought is "character we don't already have in some other form on the shelf"so yeah vehicons or nightscream/botanica
>>11756424Machine Wars Starscream is more likely than that.
>>11756462There is a Skyquake.
>>11756030I'd be dead if Powerlinx Red Alert comes with the Skyboom Shield.Also...>>11756398Is Jtprime kinda on a high right now? While his info is credible enough, he's probably out of control at this point. Welp, this should be the 2027 line, I presume, which will bear a new name.
>>11755369As someone who hated the Alternators, this was the only one I ever bought. Shocked they never repurposed or repainted him as Zod, the creepy robot eating monster from Gobots....
>>11756471I only realized one stupid thing: Skyfall and Landquake might be swapped names because of trademark. With another trademark covering their names, they might need entirely new names instead of swapping half and half again (meaning Skyquake and Landfall might not be feasible either).
>>11756187Galaxy shuttle
>>11756480Well the only thing to know at this rate is to wait and hope that Nautica isn't just Windblade with turbines replacing her wings.
>>11756477No one gives a flying fuck about Gobots like that lmao. You’re surprised they didn’t use the closest thing to a G1 update line at the time to make an obscure gobots homage, really? It’s more likely we’d get a skylynx out of it than a tonka original gobot
>>11756477IIRC the issue with those is they're licensed, so they would have to pay again to rerelease the molds
>>11756480what trademark?
>>11756398>Sky guardSky Garry?
>>1175637612+ years
>>11756514...That's not Jetstorm. That's Jetfire. No one is talking about Jetfire.Jetstorm is the middle Mini-Con that makes up the Star Saber. You know, the toy in the image of the post you replied to?You fucking idiot.
>>11756524His old Armada Figure is fine. I had mine for the longest damn time without even stressingI never saw this "Totally well known QC" shitSo still wrongThe new remake is dogshit and falls apart and stresses so easily
>>11756530Anon, we're talking about the new one. No one was talking about the old one.Do you have an actual reading disability?
>>11756514Anon...you're a moron. Reread what you originally responded to. The Jetstorm being referred to in the post is the Minicon that makes up part of the Star Saber; the specific version of him that was included with the new Armada Nemesis Prime is known to break due to the way he was assembled.
>>11756530>Talks about JetSTORM the micromaster>keeps bring up JetFIRE the big botHoly kek no wonder UTfags like you are so universally hated. You can't even fucking read. Turns out playing with toddler tier toys still makes you a toddler
>>11756530First of all, >I never saw this "Totally well known QC" shit>The new remake is dogshit and falls apart and stresses so easilyAre the same thing. Not "still wrong". Learn to read. Second of all, uh, yes, the original Armada toys also have well known issues. The entire Air Defense Team uses weaker clear plastic for joints and connection points. This was causing problems even close after release, to the point that the Air Assault Team redeco was done in stronger opaque plastic instead.
>>11756530>The new remake is dogshit and falls apart and stresses so easilyThat's literally what people were talking about this entire time, you fucking idiot.
>>11756514I'm glad to find out this guy doesn't have breakage issues because this is my first time seeing this chunky bastard and I need him
>>11756539>>11756540>>11756541>Still reading comprehensionAstounding. Even said "New remake is dogshit and falls apart"I'm literally talking about the Jetstorm from the shit Nemesis release. I KNOW I said Jetfire at firstWhich is why in my followup I acknowledged the remake and it's ass qualityThe ORIGINAL Jetstorm Minicon didn't have that huge of reported QC that you claim is what I was sayingI should have flat out said "Yes the Jetstorm" since you sperg clearly are that retarded to read and comprehend shit properly so you flew off instantly Christ>>11756543I do not remember that at all and my original Armada Mini-cons are still fineDark Saber and even Energon version were great and didn't have issues last I rememberI had a friend with original Star Saber and his Jetstorm stressed then cracked but he was also retarded and rough with his
>>11756546Aside from that anon's other dumbassery, they also didn't transform Jetfire correctly. The legs are longer than that. The toy has a cargo bay in shuttle mode and can form alternate legs for Armada Optimus.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIS0aE0iOaU
>>11756550How are you still getting confused after multiple anons explained it to you?
>>11756555>>11756545>>11756541>>11756540>>11756539>Incredible reading comprehension and mental disabilityHow could he be talking about Jetfire when a remake doesn't even exist yet??Jesus christ and you guys called him a retard?
>>11756550Buddy, YOU'RE the one that first brought up the old Armada toy. No one else did. YOU did. No one else was talking about the old one breaking. YOU thought people were talking about the old one breaking. They weren't. YOU were the mistaken one.
>>11756552I almost like him better mistransformed but either way he's a stocky lad
>>11756559Yes then I clarified and you STILL went to being retardedHopeless>>11756560It was mistransformed on purpose for the memeIt's the "mom said it's my turn"I was reclaiming my UT era stuff back then and still missing some.
>>11756558I'll explain how this conversation went down, since you're confused:>Anons: The new Jetstorm sucks (11756305)Dumbass: only hamhands break it (11756326)>Anons: No, the new Jetstorm is actually flawed (11756376)>Dumbass: Look at my Jetfire, I've never broken it (11756514)>Anons: That's Jetfire, not the new Jetstorm (11756524)>Dumbass: Why are you saying the old Jetstorm sucks? It's the new Jetstorm that sucks (11756530)>Anons: No one mentioned the old Jetstorm. We've all been talking about the new Jetstorm this whole time. Holy crap you suck at reading. (11756539, 11756540, 11756543, 11756545)(had to unlink replies because the system thought it was spam)
>>11756563Anon I'm sorry but you GENUINELY seem to have a reading/writing disability.
Go troll elsewhere you groidsThis is about fucking robots that turn into vehicles and shit
>>11756555That's because he's a UTfag what did you expect?
>>11756398>>11756421Really hoping for G2 Rook as well. Just need him, a comic accurate G2 Mindset and a G2 Aerial Trooper from the Cyclonus mold to go with Jhiaxus, my small army of G2 troopers and the upcoming Liege Maximo.
>>11756543Man, took my original Armada Star Saber out of storage recently and Jetstorm's elbow had cracks in it. Fortunately I got the Kabaya version a few years ago that I use for play and display, which is made out of opaque plastic. Thank god for Mandarake.
>>11756564god people are retarded. as is the system (why would multi quoting be spam? maybe target the actual spammers rampant on every board)
>>11755622A well-executed ML Hot Rod would probably be the best Hot Rod figure of them all, honestly.
>>11756571>Make one of the best CW Molds>Have like 2 releases tops>Never againRook was too based to get more I guess
>>11756577- Rook- FunPub Tarantulas- FunPub Impactor- Japanese RollerThen remolded into a "jeep" to be various Swindles/Hounds/GreejeeberThen remolded again to be the Japanese version of Nosecone.
>>11756582My brain JUST clicked and mentally pictured how Rook transformed and I was like "wait yea Swindle is Rook just without the backpack"Man
>>11756550>The ORIGINAL Jetstorm Minicon didn't have that huge of reported QC that you claim is what I was sayingOk, but WHY are you saying that? Nobody was talking about the original - someone said they're making a new Requiem Blaster, with the follow-up comment being "Will they fuck it up as bad as they did with the new Star Saber, specifically the issue with the new Jetstorm?". The comment had nothing to do with Jetfire or the old Jetstorm. I have no idea how you're possibly getting confused by this.
>>11756575You think?I would put money on soundwave or the dinobots
>>11756590>Reading comprehension continues
>>11756617You really need to check your own reading comprehension, kiddo - then again, from the way you type, it's pretty obvious English isn't your primary language, so maybe your inability to understand what you've been saying wrong this whole time is getting lost in translation.Again>The ORIGINAL Jetstorm Minicon didn't have that huge of reported QC that you claimNo one claimed that. YOU did. The only thing anyone here was talking about was the new one. You went off on two different tangents talking about things nobody even brought up. This server is run by America, even if it's flooded with Indians these days; please learn the language.
>>11756625This reminds me of the "Spain is communist" meme
>>11756642I don't even have to see it to know what that probably is.It's so wearying. Everything is sitting under six layers of irony and false flags now.
>>11756376I'd even call that Omega Prime levels of unfixable. At least Brawl never reached Omega Prime level. Find the Kabaya Air Defense Mini-Cons, and talk to me again. On a different note, how come nobody told me there was already a good Octane in existence, and that's the freaking Henkei Henkei one!?
>>11756398>>NightbirdAre we finally getting TFCC nightbird?
>>11756574>why would multi quoting be spam?10 is the limit btw
>we got himThank God I didn't get a lemonMy anime missing link prime got a huge cut on his face mask.AnywayYeah, it is good. Yes it is expensive.I really don't know what to say but I do have to point out that well both deer stalker and UM now got bunch of legs movement, but they do still have some difficulty using themDear stalker literally cannot stand properly because the way the heels are cut. The only way making it stand is having the whole body lean backward.UM is that better on this but unfortunately the feet did not come with four and backward movement so you are somewhat limited in the post he can do standing up. You can get a stand but the thing is so heavy I don't know what stand can even handle this thing.
This is the back If you took out the main robot you can get more possibility out of the armor suit but I don't think I will recommend it.If the legs push any more forward you are running the risk of having the white skirts hitting and damaging the diecast red paint. Having the main bot in act as a limiter. Also the main bot doesn't really secure into the suit at all. In the original toy the fist pegholes act as pegs. Now the only thing that secure it are the "arms" and the weight pushing it down on the resting location. And as you can see top ones barely clamp the leg. Last thing, I don't know about those wheels. The rubber wheels on missijg link prime "melt" plastic. I don't know if you want to have UM in suit mode without some protection against the wheel rot- they do touch the trailer
>>11756666>how come nobody told me there was already a good Octane in existence, and that's the freaking Henkei Henkei one!?It isn't that great of a toy, super Satan. I own one since release and like it, but that bot mode is awkward.
>>11756642As an Spaniard I had to check that and found it in song version. I'm no communist but that was excellent.
>>11756670it's almost guaranteed it'll just be an 86 Arcee retool
>>11756778Then it would just be worse than the old Legends just for the accessories alone.
>>11756670>TFCC nightbirdwhat? I can't find any info on this
>>11756708>Also the main bot doesn't really secure into the suit at all. There is a red clip on the trailer that locks in between the core bot's legs. Careful though, he can be hard to get out once fully locked in.
Managed to get Overload for the price of a Voyager. This guy is fucking awesome. Wish the arms had some more swivels to allow for more poses, but even so.
>>11756823I think they might be mixing it up with Nightracer, who’s a Tailgate redeco
Till all are one.
>>11756839Nightracer is in legal limbo, she's never getting a toy again.
>>11756869>Nightracer is in legal limbo, she's never getting a toy again.Oh, we have ways around that
>>11755174>>11756839>bad bitches with cool masks never to be seen again>'Here's your millionth arcee shell car'
>>11756877I thought the Red Tracks repaint was the girl one.
>>11756852Man this is my favorite transformers line ever.I'm very I'm picky when it comes to hobbies and am a very selective fan of franchises. And usually i focus on one small part of each franchise. The Movie is an awesome movie and im so happy to just focus on its toys - this is such a solid line...damn.
>>11756886Oh kek, I thought they meant that loudpedal was a fembot too. I rescind him from the bad bitch list, though he does look cool and deserves a regular toy in modern times.
>>11756852Nice setup posteranon, excellent to see.
>>11756889We need a good new CHUG Tracks mould for sure. The Kingdom one was one of the few real stinkers from the WFC trilogy, IMO. A shame, I want a good Road Rage- I need my Little Red Corvette!
>>11756888The 86 Autobot cast looks so great, the 84-85 cast is fine enough but outside the minibots tends to be so restrained in terms of colors and variety. So much of it is just red or white or grey for big swaths of it. the main movie cast all being hugely distinct in colors and shapes is just pleasing character design. I think it's one of the best looking hero cast line ups we have gotten in a TF series. Next best is probably Beast Wars where the whole Season cast has their earth beast colors contrasted with a bright metal color. Just nice design there.
>>11756852where wreck-gar?
>>11756915Wreck-Gar isn’t technically an Autobot. His original toy commercial even makes him out to be a bad guy https://youtu.be/4VqINSj51QU?si=eg4w8haXLRs_U-GX
>>11756910Well, the movie bots were designed by one guy, floro dery, who was trained to design characters for cartoonsThe 84-85 cast were designed by toymakers, and adapted to cartoons.
>>11756910to add on to what >>11756947 is saying (and provide some context from deeply autistic knowledge)The 1984/85 cast was mostly designed by Japanese artists, before being updated by floro dery for TV. The Japanese designs often had a lot of extraneous detailing, infamously including wheels on optimus' g1 design. Dery went in to the models and cut out details to make them easier to animate since he was a cartoonist and knew what would be easy or hard to do. In 1985 some of the models for the newer characters were wholly done by dery, following in the footsteps of the 84 cast. Dery changed proportions on the moldmate characters to make them stand out, supposedly, which is why Red Alert is more toy accurate, or why smokescreen has a fat face compared to Bluestreak and Prowl. The biggest example of this is probably omega supreme and the guardian robots though, with the guardian robots being notably fatter than Omega since their model sheet was done by dery
Im on vacation in the St. Louis area, and have had some great luck hitting up various toy and vintage stores in the area. Pic related was ~$150 all told from various stores. Tracks and Red Alert where even brand new. This is the 3rd Tracks toy I've had, after the MP and Kingdom, and I gotta ask, why is he always cursed to shit toys?
Red Alerts cool though, make me want more older chug car bots. And no yellowing (yet), which is great
>>11756904Agreed, I actually picked up road rage nib after a bit of hunting and asking around here on for advice on a used ebay listing photo and anons explaining that the mould was a nightmare (to which I owe the thread a photo still) so she could join crosscut, because once I learned that bit of lore I had to make it happen. But after gently fighting with it to get her into car mode, im too afraid to transform her back to bot mode.
SS86 Galvatron is around 36eur on eu-amazon.I never owned Galvatron - is this the final-final-FINAL version? no recolors or "finally we have the best version-no need to own previous" gonna happen any time soon? (like for example with Kingdom Galvatron that is exact same toy but "not colored like in cartoon").PS:I still didnt buy SS86 Megatron - i'm 100% sure they will make a black/(or dark grey) pants version... they gotta fuck it up for sure
>>11757000It's a cool toy, big boy and pretty chunky, gun mode is cool and the 86 one feels real nice in hand. I want to say they probably finished their run of him bar 86 re-issues but he did sit around for a while, and any improved version is a long ways off so he's it for now but that's just me. >inb4 moving hands version next year
>>11757000At most, I foresee takara pulling a lilac one out of their ass just like they did with TR. Hasbro already made 5 fucking decos out of him and I don't know what else they could do with it beyond bullshitting an SG megatron 2.0
>>11756839No I was mixing it up with her. Dont ask me how lol.
>>11757023would you really want her with the dogshit mold we got for Side Burn/Shadowstriker?

>>11757018>>11757011I'm going to buy him then - thanks anons. After all it's the main villain (after his rebirth (unicron a i rather "evil godlike entity") - will be silly not to have him.PS:SS86 Megatron triggers my autism - i think we can get a black shins/pants any minute and old "outdated" Megatron will be panic sold on Ebay Even Blokees got it 100% right the first time. I'm sure it was this whole money printing plan by Hasbro from the very beginning - 1) grey pants to make people scratch their heads 2) finally the TRUE version to make people buy it again

Between a helicopter, jet and stealth bomber, I like the Stealth Bomber alt most for Megatron.

Of course, Alpha Bravo and Rook serve as proxy parts for Landquake and Topspin.
>>11757156>>11757168>>11757172Anything from the Skybound comics, they go to Studio Series. I just pray they add some cool gimmicks to Arcana Magnus and Elita Prime to justify their heavy redesigns... Sure, Elita Prime could very well be a refined jet Elita-1 from Power of the Primes but either with a frame combining gimmick or no combining gimmick (I like the latter), but at least it should be refined enough.
>>11757234I really hope they've got this guy in the pipeline

>>11757226What if it turns out they’re waiting to do Cryotek because they’re not sure how to do an updated Chro to go with him
>>11757248If they skimped out on doing Minicons for most of the Armada characters up until recently, there's no reason why they'd bother making a Chro. Even if they did, they'd probably just redeco one of the recent Laserbeak/Buzzsaw cassettes for him instead of making him an actual Deployer with is own mold.
How are Yolopark kits? I just heard about these and the Dinobot is really tempting.
>>11757204That and Thunderclash would be so nice to have. They were some of my first Transformers and still own them.
>>11757248or because they're trying to fix the mold and add more segments etc.>>11757257I'd like to see the concept kinda updated so it's less "turns into a lump with a crossbow on it" and more "turns into a proper weapon" but either way, robobirb would be appreciated. >>11757310Yeah, all the great Energon toys like...uh....
>>11757313Shut the fuck up bitchSincerely, Energon Landmine
>>11757310I didn’t realize these two replies were connected so I thought JT was hinting at a new Powerpinch of all things>>11757313I feel like they could at least do Ironhide to get the obligatory “every series' main character gets a new toy in Generations” thing out of the way. I also wouldn’t be against Energon Rodimus
>>11757313The Terrorcons were neat.And I guess Shockwave/blast.
>>11757313
>>11757318wasn't Ironhide a big shelfwarmer back then?
>>11757329One of the biggest.
>>11757318Powerpinch is too much of a deep cut. A toy only character that hasn't had any popularity or relevance compared to bots such as Polar Claw and only appeared in an IDW comic. And besides, Energon Scorponok is a much better pick.
>>11757324I always forget Starscream even had an Energon toy. I mentally just jump straight from Armada to Cybertron>>11757329I have no idea, though I assume he’d sell at least a little bit due to nostalgia
>>11757137>Using fanart versions of characters with official alt modes for your aiFor SHAME
>>11757318If they make Ironhide they have to make Jetfire, both as Leader class toys that can combine with each other and nothing else (unless they do Cliffjumper as well whose odds are going to be very low and something we may not see for the next 5 years or so)
>>11757334That's mostly because Energon Starscream was really more of a background character and forgettable as a result. The opportunity was right there with making Energon Starscream a spiritual successor to Dinobot II seeing as they're both a revived form of a dead honourable warrior near and dear to Megatron with asymmetrical mechanical details and suffering from amnesia turning their personality loyal. But they either never took it or never realized it.
>>11757313Imagine
>>11757313RodimusInfernoOmni/TerrorconsStarscreamBruticus and his piecesSuperion and his pieces Prowl imo Megatron These were the figures I had fun with a kid. I also enjoyed super mode optimus but default optimus is meh and his trailer is a true brick
>>11757355Nobody cares about that Energon Optimus anymore. Though I honestly liked the Prime Force being able to combine on Omega Supreme, but I just wished it served as Shining Omega Convoy, being the more complete version of Optimus Supreme.
>>11757324I'm also unreasonably fond of Wing Saber, even if I do recognize that he's a big do-nothing brick
>>11757367Yeah, it's like, if you don't have Energon Optimus, no point in getting him. He exists as physical DLC and nothing more, compared to how much you can do with Omega Supreme, even if the latter's weapon modes are hamfisted, for lack of a better or worse term.

>>11757313Shockblast is great, you just need to accept his fuckhuge cannon arm.
>>11757406the army green is just too clashy. I'm cool with big gun arms, but if you have a big shield gun arm on the other side (seriously that is straight out of Zoids) and your cannon is a weirdly different color from the rest of you, but it's not a neutral color.... then I dunno about that.
>>11757324Love Energon Starscream. He's my biggest want for an updated toy.
>>11756888Same on all counts for me. I love this line and it's what got me to really go all in on TF. The Movie and Beast Wars are my favorite pieces of TF media, so anything they put out for me is a must buy (except Astrotrain). I know the cartoon aesthetic isn't for everyone, but resembling the thing I like carries a lot of weight for me with this stuff. And SS86/The Movie figures give you a really great spread of all timers in terms of the characters that I find it really easy to just mostly stick with it too.>>11756910The Movie crew all look so good and I made it a priority to group them together in that shot. The designs and color palettes just look even better when they're all standing next to each other. As much of a downgrade as Rodimus was, his inner circle felt like such an upgrade from Optimus'.>>11756915You actually just made me remember that I bought him over a year ago and forgot to take him out of the box. Apparently it is I who dare to be stupid, but I'll dig him out later try to work him into the display.>>11756917He still helped save the universe, so he deserves to stand with the heroes. I always assumed the Junkions and whatever Kranix's people are called were basically cousins to Cybertronians anyway.>>11757090>>11756891Thanks guys. Hot Rod's arrival motivated me to finally get all The Movie Autobots together and I'm happy with the way it came out. Looking forward to doing something similar with the Cons when more of those exist.
>>11757408The green may be a bit off but it still flows nicely with the translucent green all over his body, plus the Energon Star for the Decepticons is lime green so naturally one would think of the arm being filled with so much lime green Energon that it has turned into that color.
>>11757415yeah I suppose so. . but it sure doesn't look glowy or stained, just drab, especially compared to the purple. I think bright forest green goes way better with purple and neon green. But it's fine.. what's the altmode, a laser gun? he looks like he turns into a satellite.
>>11757412>Same on all counts for me. I love this line and it's what got me to really go all in on TF. It's literally the first time i dont like a transformer. usually i just say "it's jut a different build this time"this time it's not...It's just awfully bad. and it will be ridiculed for years to come.I'm so happy for Thundercracker and its upcoming over 900000 recolors! PS:I wonder if they will release a Coronation Starscream again for thundercracker mold...
>>11757420Yes.
Okay, new thought experiment. For those who got the AOTP Nexus Prime, has anyone tried fitting the Enigma of Combination on an Energon combiner torso's spark crystal? Again, I always think of the Enigma as "Energon Star-styled" to think it has to fit those spark crystals from the Energon toyline, especially because the original Nexus Prime was an Energon combiner remold.
>>11757447Unless you intend to use glue it won't work, the Enigma of Combination like all modern accessories has a 5mm peg. The Energon Spark Crystals is far bigger than that, even the inside diameter is bigger than 5mm so while you could technically place the Enigma of Combination on a Spark Crystal all it's really going to do is rub against the surface of it and not being able to lock in.
>>11757451Okay, then. Guess that means Shattered Glass Heatwave is bound to get a core similar to a spark crystal that doubles as some overglorified 5mm slot from a clear version of the same piece. My guess is that the Studio Series Nexus Prime could come with a clear Enigma of Combination gang-molded out of his energy shield that does the exact same job as the original piece, most specifically designed for the actual Nexus Prime. The 2027 wave is only tentatively under the Age of the Primes line because the next line's name isn't finalized, but think of the next line as one that could run two different Commander Class figures that are basically the same figure (some speculation that we are getting Defensor in 2027, Hot Spot and SG Heatwave might be a mold share if the Bruticus frame will not fit Nexus Prime).
>>11757455It's still too early to see how HasTak will deal with Spark Crystals and Energon Stars for Energon updated toys but my assumption is with Energon Scorponok coming up that they're just going to throw away the Spark Crystals and just make it a 5mm port for a Energon Star with a 5mm peg to plug into and that is going to be a crying shame. But since none of the designers care about Energon/Superlink I guess that's to be expected.>(some speculation that we are getting Defensor in 2027, Hot Spot and SG Heatwave might be a mold share if the Bruticus frame will not fit Nexus Prime).Personally I hope not, I would like for them to give G1 Combiners a break even though I see the logic. I want to see Energon Optimus Prime happen next year alongside Energon Scorponok.
>>11757463Though making these 5mm holes more elaborate could just be enough, even with a minor printing of the faction symbol inside the hole, deep enough to not get scratched by solid 5mm pegs. I mean, while unintended, you could kinda see a semblance of a spark crystal on the sides of AOTP Animated Ratchet's hood shell, being a 5mm port lined with a light border of raised plastic. Can't stop them from simplifying the spark crystal but still work like one, minus the clear dome. Maybe they could compensate by making an Enigma of Combination out of clear plastic but still have the silver paint like your typical CPE Matrix of Leadership.
>>11756704>>11756708I haven't had mine shipped yet but I'm excited for it. I've never had a good Ultra Magnus, and in most respects the OG is my favorite. I read someone say the joints on the core figure were a little more pleasant than ML Optimus; what's your experience?
>>11757495Eh not quite the same, plus it would be extremely tiny. The original Spark Crystals are roughly 6 or 7mm (shut up) in diameter so they're visible. 5mm and under might present a problem especially if its deep inside, no way do I trust Hasbro and their ability to print such a small detail in a 5mm hole. And also it would bug me because Hasbro still has the capacity to do spark crystals, they just did that with Magmatron from Legacy United. Even AOTP Sky-Byte has a Spark Crystal technically though it's made opaque rather than clear preventing you from seeing the Predacon insignia that's actually molded in it. If Generations Energon toys don't have a semblance of a Spark Crystal then it's clear that the designers really don't care at all. But everything is just speculation after all.
>>11757139This toy is a big chunky brick with a million missiles and I fucking love him so much. The update might be cool.
>>11757518We technically already have the update with Legacy Skyquake. MW Starscream is going to be released in the wave extension meaning he's going to be at best just a repaint with a new head of Legacy Skyquake.
>>11757518And lightpiping shutters on the back and head! I think that's the only transformer toy with that.
>>11757435Y'know, if they actually do remake this guy, they could use him to give us Cryotek ...just in his original body from Theft of the Golden Disk rather than his cool dragon one from later appearances.
>>11757133I wonder if Breakaway and Sky Guard will be retools.Because if they're faithful updates of the original toys, then Hasbro will have all the molds they need to make Energon Superion (with some limb bots swapped around).
>>11757552It will literally just be this and they’ll all be red/blue repaints
>>11756225Nah, 80's Ultra Magnus & his previous Diaclone toys were both advertised with the trailer forming a launch platform for jets (F-15 that was used for the seekers in Diaclone, Silverbolt in TF)
>>11756225Just don’t use the heads as jointsHave them swivel around into a posable joint
>>11757554Nexus is going to be fucked if they don't give him his own frame. You'd need to buy Onslaught just so Landquake can turn into foot, and even then the colors are all wrong.
>>11757576I wonder if that "prime artifact pack" that was leaked a while back is gonna be nexus's frame, Maybe it doubles as a display stand/base for the other artifacts?
>>11757576Yes, he will have his own frame, but it will just be repainted amalgamation of others, I guarantee it
>>11756225what >>11757558 is saying. Powered convoy was designed to be able to become a 'launch platform' for the jet robo (which became the g1 seeker mold). Clearly someone at takara was very proud of themselves for thinking of this play pattern opportunity so they used it in transformers, but to prevent showing two toys of different factions interacting (as that would be TRAITOROUS!) they used the closest size autobot flyer which was silverbolt
>>11757578We were told at the start of this that the 13 artifacts would do a thing when you put them together
>>11757429Yeah, I feel like I'm normally easier to please with the way this stuff looks than a lot of people here, but Astrotrain is just so bad that I can't bring myself to place a preorder. Just an objectively bad looking toy that doesn't even really look anything like the cartoon/movie design. But yeah, infinite reuses of this mold are something to look forward to at least. I really like Thundercracker and I'm sure we'll get another coronation Starscream from it too (but I bet we get the gray/black dead version as a Target exclusive or something first).
I'm not trying to excuse hastak's slop here but86 Astrotrain was going for movie accuracy. Astrotrain's biggest and most memorable scenes in the movie were when he was in train mode escaping the city, and in shuttle mode while the decepticons fought for leadership. The new ss86 figure prioritizes the vehicle modes because of this fact, I imagine. (this also explains the opening back of the train)The robot mode is shit unfortunately because of all this.>inb4 "I know all this it still looks like shit." okay (you) might, but some people may be missing that context. Thank you for your time reading this.

>>11757643This is such a lame excuse and I've seen it repeated time and time again in different places.>Astrotrain spent time in his alt modes in the movie>unlike all his other appearances, apparently>therefore, it's ok for his main form (the bot mode) to look like shit>and all because the box has the magic words Studio Series on itThere is no missing context here.
>>11757643You know what else he's notable for doing in the movie? Being the one to crown Starscream during his Coronation, being present - in robot mode - through the whole sequence. So you really can't make that claim if his robot mode was front-and-center like that just as much as his other two modes were.
>>11756398Finally doing lugnut, after all these years? But what size class is he going to be?

>>11757717I'll take either mold in a color that isn't yellow
>>11757701Not only this, but just the idea that Astrotrain in the movie should be represented by a different (inferior) figure than the exact same character in the exact same continuity even, from any point before and after the movie is such a strange thought process. It's cope and nonsense. It's also funny because there are episodes where he spends far longer in shuttle mode than the 3 or 4 shots we got of it in the movie. And, the new shuttle mode isn't even good!

>>11758031Snarl's got a little bit more going on, he's not a full CheetorYou gotta, like, flip his whole torso inside outI will say though that even among the beasts his cyber key power is definitely the weakest
>>11758031What about Undermine?
>>11757113You don't have to imagine with Flame War, she was so obnoxious in the comics it circled back around to being endearing what a fucking dweeby gremlin she was.
>>11758031I'm okay as long as the legs changeKingdom Cheetor/Tigatron is a perfect way to do it. The robot thighs fold away into torso extenders, since humanoids have shorter torsos than other animals. The shins fold out into the shin and foot of the cat. Only the robot shins become cat thighs. That's a real transformation.also the robot arms folding into the chest is good. leaves room for the cat head to become the chest. farrrrr too many animal-head-chests fail to make ROOM for the head, so either the head's too small, or it sticks out too far.having the wolf head become on arm is creative, but it looks dumb. it makes a very poor arm.. the elbow should have sat way further back, giving him a big 'crane' arm.. it would still look dumb, but less. and then in theory, you could split the wolf head into parts to make it a giant fuckoff cannon or somethingleg and torso transformation here are kinda garbo.. though I assume the big wolf head carries part of the torso size.
>>11757926His design feels a lot like Transmetal Cheetor, I wonder if that was intentional or not

Now that I'm (>>11758019) home, here's my Cybertron Snarl [Takara Special Black Version], who I prefer to call Fang Wolf because I have WAY too many Snarls. He's the goodest bestest boy, and has probably my favorite wolf alt mode of any other wolf transformer out there, even BW Wolfang (who has a better face but is an immobile brick). His Cyber Planet Key clips onto his thigh when not in use, and you can flip the tufts of fur on his cheeks down when the key is plugged in to keep his mouth open.
>>11758237Mid-transformation shot, for >>11758031 - he has a lot more going on than is initially apparent. You basically have to turn him inside-out to transform him, which is neat.
>>11758238Robot mode. I like how his weapon can be either a gun or a sword, depending on how you make him hold it.
>>11758237weird how the fangs are sitting so far back and angled that way.. but yeah, that is badass. . worthy of Zoids.>>11758239you know, this head-arm isn't that bad from this angle. to me, head-arms should always have a nice big meaty head to act as the hand / part of the forearm. Most animals' necks taper to a pretty small head, so that doesn't work that well. a crocodile head is good, a fish head is not so good. And here, due to perspective, the wolf head looks fine.you know, as much as I like gun-tails and even sword-tails, just once I want the tail to be a forearm poking out, and a fist unfolds from it and the haunches are the shoulder pauldron.
>>11758239That tail sword gun is why everyone was disappointed back in the day with Classics Grimlock. His gun only could be a gun.
>>11757869>maser tankThere actually is an Energon Transformer called Signal Flare that transforms into a Maser Tank. And on the Decepticon side his rival is Curellock who transforms into a dinosaur.
>>11757663based uncle anon. I miss getting TF deals for my nephew too. He still likes toys but he doesn't like retail ones and would rather save up for MP or 3P now(he's 12.)
>>11758243>weird how the fangs are sitting so far back and angled that wayIt's because they retract backwards and into the head when the jaw closes, storing roughly under where the wolf eyes are. There wouldn't be enough room for them to slide up if they were further forward in the muzzle.
>>11758247yeahhhh see, that's a really easy, cheaty altmode, but that's how you do it properly.. that is the right way.Bit too much clear red (or rather, too many continuous areas of it) especially the thighs, and the cannon deco is baffling, but... . very good mold.
>>11758253who asked for retracting fangs that are sitting in the wrong spot?
>>11758031It just works, I don't get the hate on Beastformers for being simple when 90% of vehicleformers before Car Robots 2001 were effectively 5 steps at best. And generally, rear becomes legs, middle arms, front chest or head. 1996 T.Rex Megatron is more complex than basically any Transformer before it.
>>11758247>Curellock who transforms into a dinosaur.Holy fuck I need him
>>11758260honestly the way the t-rex torso raises up, twists, then sets in a totally different way.. is kind of incredible.>>11758262ohhhh yeah, him. the one who looks like GINO. I guess the maser tank thing is even more appropes then. That said, super SUPER boring transformation, this one. . happy meal tier.
>>11758262Thats an Energon toy I'd want redone.I'd name him Zilla.
>>11758263>super SUPER boring transformationKinda fitting for Energon thoughbeitIn the show everyone's a two-step 'Former
>>11758266I looked it up and it's more complex than I thought (literally just tilt the dino head back), the waist apparently changes (though not satisfyingly) and this automatically nudges the shoulders and moves the dino head, so i GUESS that's okay. Kinda reminds me of Optimus Minor, whose transformation takes a lot of work to accomplish basically fuck all.
>>11758255It's a cyberkey gimmick so it won't be visible all the time, it's of the era, a compromise for the sake of the gimmick engineering. Perhaps the gear mechanism was easier to implement further back, or they worried the translucent teeth would break if they were too forward. Either way they felt kids would prioritize play over accuracy.
>>11758270Yeah, that was a nice touch.>Wields the power to destroy Matthew Broderick's career-TFWiki caption for Cruellock
>>11758247Thanks for reminding me that I had this guy tucked away somewhere, though he's the later released version with different colors.

>>11758274Also these three, though I'm not digging them out for new pics right now.
>>11758277Yep. It's awesome - just a shame it was necessary to begin with.
>>11758269>Kinda reminds me of Optimus Minor, whose transformation takes a lot of work to accomplish basically fuck all.Stuff like that is fun to me though, because it shows they think of how to vary the shape of a bipedal beast instead of just saying fuck it, a robot can have a beast shape. You can tell they tried to give his roobt mode more human/heroic proportions compared to how squat and wide the monkey mode is.
>>11758273if Inspector Gadget didn't do that, nothing could
>>11758274much more natural colors..>>11758278have to admit, I can't hate them.
>>11758280TRIED. yeah. I think the main mistake is that they A) made the limbs, particularly the shoulder and hip pieces, visually interchangeable, instead of just.. literally interchangeable, as in they swap places..It should have been 'monkey mode has hip skirts, robot mode has shoulder pads' not both have both. and what's more, the folded down pads hide the only significant difference between the sets of limbs, the red upper arm / thigh part. The splitting arms are awesome, i'm just saying. I'm not sure how I'd make a transforming monkey, but.. not like that. perhaps I'd have the monkey torso be quite thin like some monkeys are, but then have the monkey head-halves -move and fill in the gaps- so he now has a bulkier torso, while his monkey arms shorten (in the process of meeting the new wider shoulders) and then shoulder pads move in from the former monkey titty regionlegs could just have the thigh meat swivel down onto the shin meat instead. that's good robot proportions.
>>11757653Hold my beer....
>>11758263Battle Ravage is even more boring. Literally just stand him up and flip his torso back.
>>11758317Whoops, forgot image.
Question for anyone that has coronation Starscream and the new 86 Thundercracker, does the crown even fit on the new head? Know the shoulder pads and cape won't fit from what I've seen so betting they'll update it down the road and did I hear right that the newer 86 Starscream is going to be target exclusive?
How did a meeting where someone said, "who shall we put in our last-minute repaint wave?" but nobody said Cryotek even happen?
>>11758318yeah and those cat feet really don't work at all. nor do the stupid hands with big obvious wrist paws.. at least fold it onto the forearms and make it agun.
>>11758323I will guarantee you they keep holding out for Cryotek being an exclusive and no one is biting. It's probably budgeted as a bit more expensive than a regular release in hopes that an exclusive deal will justify it but so far nothing.
>>11758328>I will guarantee you they keep holding out for Cryotek being an exclusive and no one is biting. If that's the case, I can guarantee the one they're pitching him to is Walmart. As was pointed out when Star Eagle was announced, these companies are so vain that they tend to insist that their exclusives match their brand colors - red and white for Target, blue for Walmart, and so on. Cryotek would have to be a Walmart exclusive by that logic.
>>11758339The original was a Target exclusive, so it would fit even if they've invented some 'it has to be red' bullshit since then.
>>11758339don't they care that walmart exclusive means ebay exclusive? shit never goes on shelves, and they don't honor preorders reliably.
>>11758236The original proportions were better.
>>11757952Why so they can fuck them all up? Most of them are fine as they are
>>11758348interesting taste.

>>11758318>>11758262>>11758247>>11757435Energon made me quit transformers way back then. I returned only during late Combiner Wars.this line didn't age well.At first you can find these big transluscent parts fun/neon but then it's just big meh.
>>11758387i love transparent neon parts, I just want a simple paint app on them. Something that says 'this part is actual metal, but the clear parts are being housed inside that metal frame'
>>11758387The point of Energon's toyline gimmick was that you had all these big translucent parts with various 5mm pegs and holes where possible that make up an Energon weapon. And with those pegs and holes it was possible to create various Energon weapon loadouts for a Transformer, various different types of weapons and combinations can be made with only limitation being your imagination. And the best part is as a continuation of the previous Armada's toyline gimmick Mini-Cons, the Energon weapons also contain at least one Mini-Con peg or hole so they can be combined with Mini-Cons for even more ridiculous weapons or be backwards compatible and be used in place of a Mini-Con to activate Armada's Powerlinx gimmick. It's a shame not a lot of people know or understand it, so many think the shirt and pants Powerlinx gimmick was Energon's toyline gimmick even though that was strictly only for the Autobots and the Decepticons had flip out weapons dubbed Hyper Mode as their counterpart to the Autobot's Powerlinx gimmick. Maybe that's why Legacy's Energon weapon gimmick died out around the 2nd or third wave, because no one was interested in it.
>>11758399yeah but they're all so goofy lookinthey're not like, weapons that look like they're made out of energon shards, or anything cool like that. they just look like waffled messes. rejects from other toylines.same issue with the Prime toyline. not too bad overall but their obsession with bizarre, bulky, awful-looking weapons is just nuts to me.
>>11758400That's the downside to making it translucent, with all the added details it looks like a modern toy with all the hollowness you'd expect haha. They should've made them more opaque in my opinion.>they're not like, weapons that look like they're made out of energon shardsProbably why they're translucent to begin with, to give off that effect of being produced from Energon shards. In the anime both Omnicons and Terrorcons literally mine and chew respectively on Energon and refine them into proper weapons to be used. I do wish there were a bit more variety of weapons though, on the Autobot side the best you got was an Axe, a bow, a spear and a pizza cutter. And on the Decepticon side it was a gun with a scope attached (with said scope looking identical to G1 Megatron's fusion cannon that was also a scope in his gun mode, look at Battle Ravage above), a sword, a boomerang and a weird gatling sword fusion. Really basic stuff.
>>11758262Cruellock is awesome. I adore his fuckoff big sword and those colours.

That's better. The Throne of the Primes is getting a reissue, and thus, the exclusive Prime Masters of Nexus, Amalgamous, and the Thirteenth Prime. If anyone cares about getting the Prime Masters to match with the full-size Transformers, or probably to fit a Matrix Frame on the Legends God Ginrai, the chance is about to open up. Of course, they're Prime Masters, nobody would be interested in these anymore when we have the real Thirteen, all out and about in store shelves across three full years since 2024 until just this week.

>>11758429>Coming back due to combiner wars of all things is insane considering how much worse it was than energonCombiner wars were the first time transformer toys started to look like action figures that can do all kinds of stuff.A lot of people came back exactly for that reason.I always hated when transformer couldnt be articulated properly or had some stupid stuff due to transformation or gimmick.CW finally gave us "wow he's...he's like in cartoon..." feel. Also combiners that are not small and dont suckcome the fuck on. its' the best
>>11758487CW figures had less articulation than most of the figures that came out 5 years prior.Honestly the only reason I can really see for people getting back in through CW was because of G1 accuracy.>Also combiners that are not small and dont suckMaybe the original G1 combiners didn't suck but the CW ones definitely did. They were so bad they needed 3rd party addons to function properly most of the time.
>>11758487I am not one of those fans that says the 2005-2010 era was the best time to be a transformers fan but why are we lyingClassics, Universe 2, fuckin thrilling 30 in 2014, all of these eras had figures that "started to look like action figures that can do all kinds of stuff."Classics Optimus Prime is still one of the greatest primes of all time. All a third party company would have to do is add ankle tilts and butterfly shoulders to a KO and I guarantee you'd see many people replacing their primes (or at least their SG primes) with it.However..>>11758536The g1 combiners were cool but they definitely were jank. They didn't suck, necessarily, and they were much better than other combining toys I think, but still..However I don't think it's right to say that all of CW sucked. There are sure some bad combiners (menasor), but there are also some good ones (Superion, Defensor), although you definitely do need upgrade kit parts on them if you want to get more extreme poses.I'd argue that CW defensor even with handfootguns is still collection worthy nowadays. And I say this as someone who got in the franchise after ONE and likes the legacy combiners a lot. (although I've had friends that loved the franchise for way longer, so I've been able to mess with a lot of the older toys)
>>11758547>The g1 combiners were cool but they definitely were jank. They didn't suck, necessarily, and they were much better than other combining toys I thinkThey were jank but they actually functioned and were a good price for what they were at the time. Most of the individual molds from CW ranged from aggressively mediocre to outright terrible. There are very few standouts from that line. The combiners barely worked and unless you scrambled for those Perfect effect add on pieces, you were left with a $100 figure that can only get into like 2 poses. Then there are figures that no amount of upgrades could have fixed like that Devastator, Even Takara couldn't save it.

>>11758400>rejects from other toylines. It's been speculated that they're actually the repurposed weapons from one of Takara's cancelled Microman toylines, so you may not be too far off there.
>>11758547>thrilling 30damn i forgot about this30ties were so cool that we still can't get a regular retail figure better than thrilling 30s Wazzzpinator and Rhinox. But yeah CW looks more close to beloved G1 look so overall i'd rather go with the flood gates that CW opened.then we got Titans Return and then Power of The Primes.not to mention TITANS - metroplex fortress and trypticon and others.G1 is the king.+ beast wars

>>11758487it's safe to say that for the last couple decades, transformers has added new positives and new negatives. Usually both arrive together, as if one was exchanged.
>>11758580now that I could see. Microman was always about "look, things are transparent. just deal with it, it's cool. it doesn't have to make sense"like didn't they basically start out doing clear remolds of Gi Joes, with like glitter inside
Keep on glidin
>>11758796Are you me?
>>11758919man I'm glad I don't care about ss86, y'all keep getting fucked
>>11758922Eh, Soundwave was alright
>>11758902Resurrecting an old favorite
>>11758950love it. i love you guys sometimes.
Managed to find 86 Megatron at Gamestop of all places today for 69 after searching for months and not wanting to pay scalper prices. Anyway, how and blazes are you expected to get the sword in his hands without breaking it? File it down a smidge I'm guessing
>>11758960>69heh. nice.test other weapons first, make sure it's not the hand that's too small. then you just need a 5mm drill bit and that'll clear that right up.
>>11758970anon I don't like people listing fake modern things that for some reason everyone fell for even though we already had a wall
>>11757581>>11757576I don’t doubt this.I guess it will be a repaint of Silverbolt’s frame so it can work with Nexus’s flight vehicle. But will it come by itself?
>>11758980The newest one is>make it make senseAnd>war on fraud
>>11758989I'm thinking in about a year we'll be seeing a Pulse exclusive box set
>>11758990it's so wearying hearing actors portray my side as buffoons and nobody question it while they just blindly do the opposite of whatever is presented.
>>11758993>so wearying hearing actors portray my side as buffoonsThat's a given regardless of which side you stand on.
>>11758995Ssssssssort of. except in their case, they aren't hoping people will DO what they say, not do the opposite. But yes, stooges are being set up to lose, for sympathy.
>>11759004er, are* hoping
>>11758919So I got the better one already is what you're saying
stop derailing the thread and go to pol niggers
>>11759010thank you.we're here for escapism, god dammit.post tramborbmermbs.
I swear to god pictures of Armada Jetfire are the best kept secret this brand has had for years
>>11759016SS Swoop was up there for a while
>>11758613>>11758616Then again, if anyone wanted a more show-accurate OpOp, they might redo the guy without the Evolution gimmick because that was what removed the truck mode. I can live without the electronics, but have it be much better proportions yet keep every other manual and spring-loaded gimmick (but with no springs, that is).
>>11758613i have to admit, I'm getting very comfortable with the idea of 'alternate reality' charactersyknow what if Prime's spark didn't inexplicably turn the boss monkey fucking safety orange. The blue and burgundy I could see...And then you get like, Primal Prime who actually LOOKS like Prime affected him. Love that guy.
>>11759016Driving me insane, the mini leak about the space team is cool but now I'm almost positive comettor is gone
What were those IKEA shelves that were popular some years ago? After dusting everything off again, I'm seeing the value of not being open air.
>>11758919>the DCS releasethe what
>>11758613I'll take any OpOp at this point - I missed the PotP release, so the only one I ever had was the original toy from 28 years ago (goddamn, has it really been that long?).
Iguanus Motorcycle vs Iguanus, Motorcycle. Both the "new" ones were at a surplus store. There were a lot of them, a core class Ironhide that was packaged swapped with a GI Joe, and a few non-transformjng figures. There also was the infamous crapton of Star Wars and MCU figures, but I instead bought come comic book multipacks and a children's model kit of the Compact Pussycat that isn't very show accurate with just the plastic. Iguanus is is a decent looking lizard, but his joints are loose. Seems about right being the price of a modern core class on clearance.Arcee reminds me of the Legacy Animated Prowl in transformation scheme. She's kind of underwhelming, but cheap. So did they sell those guys in solid cases?
>>11758247Maser Tank is tight, I love Signal Flare.
>>11759042the takara one
Rumor going around that next year's combiner is Magnaboss.
>>11759056I don't want them to do it unless they do it right. Everyone with me here? We probably won't get another chance in 5-10 years.and to me, 'right' means redesigning it almost completely.. Ironhide and Silverbolt's robot modes sucked.
>>11759056I doubt it. They already made Skywarp using the Kingdom Airazor mold, and unless they figure out a way to make him retroactively combine with the others, I find it highly unlikely they'll make him again with a whole new mold.
>>11759065They wouldn't call him that, but yeah. That said, in Magnaboss, all he did was what the Falconzord did to the Shogun Megazord. Just connected to the back and swept the wings forward, under the armpits, to reveal weapons. There's no reason this toy couldn't do 90% of that. I just don't want that.
>>11759065GS Star Convoy, the retool of PotP Optimus, released in 2019, and they released one with a brand new mold, titan class no less, six years later. Kingdom Skywarp released in 2021. Next year would be six years after. It's not that farfetched.
best transformer(s) you've bought this year?
>>11759065It wouldn't be Skywarp. It would be Silverbolt
>>11759073Was Seaspray this year? I don't think I've actually bought many recently.
>>11759073Honestly, probably SS86 Magnus. I held off on getting him for so long because I felt like my Kingdom Magnus was better proportioned and was scaled more accurately to the rest of the 86 cast. Got him a few weeks ago and was really impressed by how much fun he is to fiddle with.
>>11759041detolfs? keep in mind those do have small open gaps
>>11759073I finally managed to track down a United Magmatron for a good price. Even my non-Transformers friends thought it was really cool>>11759074I’m honestly curious how they would handle a new Magnaboss, since the Japanese one is the only one to appear in animation, and I don’t see them trying to do both versions when they are so similar. I think the best option, which they probably wouldn’t do, is to do the Japanese paint decos since they have more detail and include an alternative Prowl head for Lio Junior and separate Magnaboss face since they are all the same mold anyways
>>11757542Imagine a 2-pack of both Cryoteks.
>>11759106I know what I'd be selling
>>11759118Which one - the triple-changing satellite tank or the dragon?
>>11759129look, he's not that bad, but i don't love vehicle guys at the best of times, nor have the shelf space for them.I want the dagron
>>11759140I wouldn't blame you - especially since the dragon is what he's better known for. The other version, however, has never had an official toy before, so it would have the novelty of being the first time Cryotek's original body existed outside of being a virtual redeco; he's the only member of the Predacons from Theft of the Golden Disk who never had a toy of his Cybertronian form (Scorponok and Terrorsaur were released during Combiner Wars, while Dinobot, Waspinator and Megatron were released for Timelines).
>>11759153yeah and I'm not inherently against seeing cybertronian forms for beast guys.. it's just that in practice, it's never quite doing it for me. I want to see a coincidentally similar robot mode but with the kibble all being vehicle stuff.
>>11759042Dramatic Capture Series
>>11759044I could honestly wait for the New Prime. If it were Optimal Optimus, that is. Though it's still possible we could get a better OpOp in the next Generations wave.
>>11757503>The core botIt felt the sameThe thigh swivels still hard to turn as hell so I don't know what people meant saying about being a bit smoother.Having played with the thing over the weekend, I am really tempted to get delta Magnus. I find that you can actually lock the core bot in- there is a "locking" position which you slot the chrome bumper into. It is very secure going bared. You have to ignore the instruction, you can't really get to the right spot with the suit arms deployed. Get the core bot into the position before transforming the arms. Though, the locking system is made of the chrome bumper and the painted die cast. I would recommend to get a thin plastic sheet to cover the inner part of the armor suit to prevent chipping or general rubbing. The sheet should also prevent the rubber wheels getting contact with the inner plastic if you have it large enough. It won't be pretty in the back but at least you are protesting the figure
>>11758731This, actually. I also just loved Head/Titan masters and wanted more ways for them to interact. They went really well with targetmasters, modulators, and baseformers.
>>11759288I’m guessing that they’re going to do two Deluxes and a Voyager since Santon/Ironhide takes up a massive amount of the combiner’s mass and it would make him scale with Big Convoy
>>11759294I hope they take some liberties with the headsculpts, Ironhides more than the others.Make his G1 head but more bestial, give him fangs and make his mohawk fur... And the weapons, they could make those club things Ironhide has into movie/aligned style arm cannons.
We're never getting a metroplex reissue/improvement are we? I thought logic would see him follow aotp tryp but guess not
Welp, might have gotten it for $30, but Legacy Breakdown is finally mine! Now my Menasor won't have a mint and blueberry colored leg.
>>11759328He’ll more likely get a new mold either during or after the AoE Dinobots
The fact they're doing redecos of the combaticons is strange, since those guys have the most repaints out of the G1 Combiners.
>>11759353holy shit he's even fatter than beforelooks like Astroscope got on the same diet as him, too
>>11759353DAMN BOI HE THICC
>>11759353Need some comparison pics because he looks really chunky.>>11759354Disappointing and downright awful. >>11759356I thought we're getting a new mould, but it's just a reissue?

>>11759353>>11759374can he still be mistransformed? this is a deciding factor for me>>11759357I know any time they try to make soundwave a ship it's a flying nothing, but goddamn they didn't even try with that altmode>>11759359didn't care about scream but I might pick this guy up
>>11759353Looking like the average fan.
>>11759353Wow, he's a chunky boy.
>>11759355Looks worse than the original, as is the norm with Studio Series.

>>11759353He looks alright
>>11759353Where landing gear bot
>>11759357>>11759381Unlike the Bumblebee movie's Soundwave, THIS Soundwave's altmode was actually in the movie and not just designed for the toy.
Hold up, Scourge is a package refresh?
>>11759396it's pretty clear he has an opening chest, anon. open your eyes.
>>11759380What's wrong with Thundercracker?
>>11759402Even if he does, theres like, no room in there for anything.
>>11759353I'm not familiar with the character, but I know he can apparently combine with Armada Optimus to make another Super Mode. Is there another version of him that matches Armada Nemesis that can be used to give him a full Super Mode, too?
>>11759353>Morbid obesityHow embarrassing
>>11759401Buddy, his head still sucks, and clearly, they can't just update a design from one of the most recent movies they made. Also, what Studio Series ROTB releases do you like, and what retail figure do you like in return? Scourge is banned because he doesn't have a second toy from HasTak.
>>11759412I'm glad, I missed Scourge the first time and don't care about screen accuracy. Now if I can just get the chain included with Sloptimus Primal to give to Battletrap.
>>11759407There was one repaint back in the day, for the PowerLynx Optimus Prime. So they would have to come up with something new for Nemesis, to really match.
>>11759288Does this anon think that Overload could be a Weaponizer anyone can equip, not just Optimus?
>>11759407I’m assuming given that they’re including the Space Team means that they have a Spacewarp redeco in mind, since she was originally supposed to come with redecoes of them as well. Her colors fit Nemesis a lot better, in my opinion
>>11759407here's all the decos of the original toy (third was planned, cancelled, and reworked into the forth)
>>11759422Thats some pretty damn awesome art.
>>11759353what is with hasbro and always making minicon remakes shittier than the originals?
>>11759417>>11759423Diversity loss, Jetfire has fired his DEI hire minicon
>>11759421That's a fembot? Woah, momma.
>>11759423Sorta hoping that if they do astrotrain they split the diff with spacewarp's lighter purple and give us both heads, like they did for SG/Delta Magnus.
>>11759392I'm not seeing anything there that's worse than the big panel on the back of the new one.
>>11759073I really like Quickstrike, more than I ever thought I would. Both the Hot Wheels crossover figures rock hard playability and have fun G2 vibes. Twin Mill is probably my favorite vehicle of the last 6 months, but Quickstrike appeals to me more with his beast/monster alt mode. I always favor creature alt modes.
>>11759359That's Blitzwing's head sculpt.
>>11759391>cope excuseIt's a fact. Accept and move forward as I have.
>>11759417So, is the plan to release Overload with the Skyboom shield next?
>>11759449I think the stock photos might be mistransformed, the back of the box image doesn’t have the panel. I’m guessing it’s meant to fold up more
Have they even implied that One Soundwave might get some tape bots if his chest does open?
>>11759421That would have made a nice fembot to go with nemesis (the ship)What a shame
>>11759353The leg articulation on Jetfire looks super awkward.
>>11759354Bumblebulimic.
>looking for fembot to go with nemesis>preferably ship or plane to keep it on themeBeyond impossible to find pack ins and such, legacy united slipstream seems to be the only one but she has a goofy looking torso and hands. Can any of you speak to her quality and enjoyment factor or is she another shampoo bottle level plastic rattler like legacy evo strongarm?
>>11759483She's a Windblade retool. You like Windblade?
>>11759289They should've dropped the Prime thing and just made the mini pretenders turn into heads
>>11759483Just wait for the inevitable SS86 mold version
Big Convoy is cool. I can't figure out how the fuck the get him to hold the big gun properly right now, but I'll try to get some shots of that later.
>>11759457I think you're right but relative to the old one I'm still not impressed with it. It might be better than the previous Studio Series Bay OPs, though.
>>11759488Dont have windblade, so cant say.>>11759493Might be a bit aways at this point, we havent seen starscream or coneheads yet.
>>11759073uh I haven't bought ANY transformers this year
>>11759073found an Aveo Swerve for 3 bucks at a thrift store
>>11759073Needlenose and venin, needlenose I had tracked down for a while and he's a cool lanky jet guy that isnt just another seeker mould. Venin really surprised me with how much I liked him and how enjoyable he is, will be a standout of 2026 I think. Honourable mention to 86 soundave and retro gears for being a fun little guy
>>11759494This is the best I could do with mine for the time being
>>11759452
>>11759511They should have put masks/visors on the seekers ages ago. Makes them look badass and gives them individuality beyond being Starscream recolors.
>>11759511Who's the teal/gold one?
>>11759483I mean, I liked both her and Windblade, though I wish it was possible to put her Null Rays on her shoulders like with the male Seekers.
>>11759514To be fair, the “classic” Seekers never really had that problem. Not including generics, the Coneheads all look completely different from Starscream and the Rainmakers have a completely different alt mode. Sure Thundercracker and Skywarp look the same as him, but they have completely different color schemes to differentiate them
>>11759417wtf so he comes with Requiem Blaster but not his buddy Comettor?
New Thread>>11759533
>>11759532you don't understand! if we added the extra minicon, it would cost 2 cents more to manufacture! therefore accounting for inflation we would have to sell it at $157.98 in american markets!
>>11759532Comettor is obsolete. Jetfire provides his own landing gear now.
>>11759300He needs a lot more changes than that, but I liked his head. Just not the way it sits on his ridiculous shoulders.
>>11759353HE CHONKAs he should be, and giving him the Requium Blaster was a good idea, imo. Too bad about his own minicon.>>11759355Actual great remake. >>11759356Thank God, he's getting rereleased. One of the few I missed out on.>>11759357Lol, another flying crab. Will grab.>>11759359Miles better than Star Scteam.
>>11759639The head would work for a Santon repaint, but yeah I think the figures proportions are fucked desu
