What are some of the worst toy likenesses you’ve ever seen?
>>
>>11755728
Lots of toys from the 90s fit that description because of people like Schwartzenegger, Cruise, and Neill refusing to sign away their likeness rights.
>>
>>11755857
Why would an actor do this? I mean, it's more money for them, right?
>>
>>11755860
When the studio owns your likeness rights, they fucking OWN it forever. Technically Disney can make an entire new Star Wars movie using Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford's faces without their permission and not paying them shit for it.

A lot of actors know this, and refuse to sign away their likeness rights because of it. Robin Williams himself was hugely against it when it sank in that he doesn't own his face, and TV/movie studios do.
>>
>>11755860
a lot of actors think having toys of a character means the role isn’t taken seriously
others like cruise are just owned by xenu and are probably forbidden from it

>Technically Disney can make an entire new Star Wars movie using Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford's faces without their permission and not paying them shit for it.
Which is exactly what they did with both Tarkin and Leia in Rogue One.

No it isn't. They had permission from Cushing's estate. This came up due to a lawsuit from another company claiming they had obtained exclusive rights to his likeness prior to his death.
And they had Carrie's permission too. She saw "her" scenes before she died and gave her thumbs up. John Knoll talked about only using her likeness if she approved.
There are currently bills being passed in California and NY to prevent deepfake/CGI/AI likenesses being used without an actor's permission.

Buff Nedry from Kenner Jurassic Park is a personal favorite of mine.

I remember being incredibly disappointed by the movie version of the Turtles that Playmates put out when I was a kid. Wtf is this shit?

I only had the Splinter one with the flock. I guess they did another one without it. But they really fucked things up with their classic collection line of turtles toys by releasing a repainted regular Splinter. Even his weapons aren't the movie one.

The Kenner one was more fit. Mattel recently made him jacked as shit.

Pretty sure that's Schwarzenegger's likeness for Terminator 2 and Last Action Hero. Now as for T-1000, the rocket pants one is not Robert Patrick, but the liquid metal one looks like he agreed to use his likeness. These are also kids toys. so it's not like you're expecting Neca quality.
>>
>>11756347
Yeah, I expect something good
>>
>>11756347
>Neca
>quality
lol April fools was over a week ago, anon.
>>
>>11756350
Which would be Neca.

>>11756628
Exactly. Nobody is joking you spaz.
>>
>>11756681
>Nobody is joking you spaz.
Yeah that’s the sad part, actually thinking Neca makes quality products
>>
>>11756809
They do. Sorry you choose not to live in reality.
>>
>>11755985
Why are the heads/faces so wide?
Why is the paint so lumpy, it makes them look like they're made from rocks.
>>
It's unanimous. NECA sucks at likenesses, are to afraid to make figures 'big' that aren't TMNT, and openly mock their buyers for even considering supporting their rivals.
>>
>>11757143
You are such a pathetic troll
>>
I saw these abominations on BBTS and thought of this thread. Wish we could get a real Labyrinth line.
>>
>>11757186
I accept your concession.
>>
>>11757197
Your concession is accepted. Your projection is detected. You deflection has been tranjected. Your collection? Is neglected.
>>
>>11757190
Woah! NECA did a Labrynth Line!?
>>
>>11757205
No concession given. You just babble a bunch of nonsense and drool on to the next post. You're pathetic.
>>
>>11757209
Can you post your collection? Like even one figure? Or are you incapable of that?
>>

Looks nothing like Wayne Knight
that might not be a bad thing
>>
Jay Bauman Captain America is my favorite.
>>11756240
The one without is a recent re-release. They didn't have the original movie star mold so they released the original toy with his color scheme instead. Unflocked sadly.
>>
>>11757368
She looks like the actress. Get your eyes checked.
