ITT; characters who designs are impossible to properly pull off as toysPic Related. Look at NECA's figures with their huge wings taking up space and making it impossible to display the entire clan together.
>>11756680What is the point of lying like this?
>>11756685You're joking right?
>>11756680Your picture shows Goliath with reasonably sized wings. NECA just was retards.
>>11756680>characters who designs are impossible to properly pull off as toyswhat an absolute retard.
>>11756732literally some of the most on model toys ever made too, op is a retard
>>11756736OP should jump off a cliff
How did NECA handle Lexington's wings? Seems like that could get tricky.
>>11756746You could do that with clear bendy tubing. It wouldn't look quite right but you could do it.
>>11756758that's not "properly"
>>11756779Well I don’t know how else you expect to do it.
>>11756779Aside from some weird magnet setup that's only way you could do it.
>>11756756no one knows, everyone passed on it so it lingered in online stores until some fucks scalped up the entire supply and now they're rare as fuck.
>>11756680Fuck NECA for canceling the line and not releasing Coldstone and MacBeth. They were right there man.
>>11756801More retarded lies
>>11756756Some kind of soft plastic that will probably disintegrate in 5 years.
>>11756756They are made of slightly softer plastic and are fixed to his arms and the flanks of his torso, but there's is another set of arms molded to the wings that plug into his back. They don't fold up. They just kind of curl. I was not overly impressed with how they did it. The OAFE review kind of shows what the deal is.https://www.oafe.net/yo/neca_grglex.php>>11756781Cloth for the wing membrane might have worked, but it would look kinda crap and then you'd miss out on the realistic leather texture they gave his wings. Maybe interchangeable wings for spread and closed like they did with the rest of the Goyles, but the way they are attached to his arms complicates things. Maybe if they did the closable wings with thin vinyl like the old vintage Star Wars capes or maybe rubber, but once again, the texture wouldn't match the rest of the line.>>11756801I didn't. I had to order him from BBTS though because I never saw him anywhere, and I only got him when they restocked after almost a year. I thought it was going to be an instance of one of those preorders they never end up fulfilling, but the clan is complete.I'm scared to pose him because I've seen a few people break the bicep swivel, and he's kind of pricey on the secondary market now.
>>11756848You really should stop being a retard.
>>11756680Those are not impossible, stop thinking that just because neca turns everything into vomit everybody it's going to turn everything into vomit too
>>11756680This specific One Tail form of Naruto. Best you can do is have a red aura in the background like the Anime Heroes figure. I don't think I've even seen a statue do it justice.
>>11756898Schizo post
>>11756829I'm gonna be straight up, Coldstone isn't a character people would pay $40 for. This is becoming an issue with a lot of these lines. At $20, that's still pushing it.
>>11756880yeah, this is too tricky
>>11756732>what an absolute retard.Zoomers and Alphas dont think anything existed before their birth
>>11756862I own the figure. What the fuck is your problem? I've had toys in the 80's made out of this material and it doesn't hold up long term. It is what it is.
>>11757569And you are a complete fucking liar. The material holds up fine, you don't own the figure at all apparently. And if you do, you are lying.
>>11756680>Impossible>Ignoring the Beast Kingdom figure>Ignoring Mondo's upcoming figure>Ignoring the classic toyline>Ignoring the various other Goliath toys over the years that look just fine. NECA went for their own look but the cartoon designs are very much translatable to figure form. The wings were the only mistake they should have done resting wings with the spread wings being an option pack later on or something included with variants.
Not characters but two biological features that i have never seen a toy do properly:1: The way whale mouths extend and retract when they open and close it2: The way pterosaur wings folded backwards instead of sideways like all toys do it
>>11757848>2: The way pterosaur wings folded backwards instead of sideways like all toys do itSettle down. They can't even get therapod hands oriented the right way half the time.
>>11757868I'm more wondering if it is even possible. All toys i've seen do it like this. I guess it's a case of something being impossible to replicate with non-organic matter
>>11756746How I would make him work>Have him come with a variety of parts>A pair of open hands, a pair of closed fists, his hair and three helicopter hairs (remember this), and miscellaneous accessories.>He comes with a stand.>One prop can be those "fwoosh" things you attach one of the fists to look like his punch is strong and fast; the effect connects to the stand solving at least one "floating hand" issue.>The other hand can achieve the same effect or it can be connected with the shock rocket or a plumb which connects it to the stand.>Plumb can either be placed under his torso to give him the appearance of sitting or by one clear thin pole.>Head can be placed on another thin clear stick.>If that looks too ugly, you can use one of the two helicopter hairs that have a slit through them so that they can connect to the "whoosh" prop that goes on the fists.
