I’m guessing Flash will be in the last part of 2026’s retro wave
Chang over in Hasbro factory sort of screwed up his Wild Bill "prototype" that he ran off in the factory off-hours. >>11760804Probably. YoJoe June will do a lot of reveals that'll map out most of the rest of the year, and I'm not even hearing whispers of Flash being anywhere in sight.
>>11760629You forgot to mention the Fatal Fluffies under rumors.
>>11760980That seems far-fetched but you're right.
>>11760995I can see the Classified team doing a scary take on them.
>>11760995I don't think it's that far-fetched, the Joe team loves the cartoon and I believe they've mentioned the Fluffies before. Hell, they even had a song about em on the Cold Slither Album and the bassist even Cosplayed one at NYCC at the Hasbro booth.
>>11760629Why are the vehicles so expensive, I'd expect them to cost about the same to make as the figures with how much detail and articulation goes into those.
>>11761121Because after licensing costs Star Wars and other licensed IPs are expensive, so Hasbro deliberately keeps the prices of its own IPs high so they're not "internally competing."
>>11760629That’s a lot of Cobra vehicles but barely any for the Joes.Isn’t because the HasLab this year is the SnowCat?Because only the Triple T and a green Ferret are scraps.
>>11761455I'm sure the Snowcat being this year's big vehicle release has a lot to do with it.
>>11761468Oh damn!!!I guess most of the last stuff he worked on won’t be out until 2027.
>>11761468Boss Fight Studio has been uncucking themselves a lot lately.
>>11761468Translation: he's tired of his "superior" being someone half his age who most likely got the job through checkboxes instead of being a fan of the brand. I'm sure that he's really sick of all the awesome stuff put on hold and coming out at a trickle by "LET'S DO THIS BECAUSE I THINK IT'S COOL FIRST."
>>11761468Welp it's over
>>11761468Cory Cantelupe just posted the other day that he's joining Boss Fight as a full time sculptor too. He was one of the people Hasbro fired in their mass layoffs a few years ago and was the original sculpting manager on Classified. I wonder if they're planning on doing more layoffs and Lenny was given a heads up that he was on the block so he jumped ship while he could. Either that or Boss Fight must be doing something exciting if they were able to pull him away from Hasbro.
>>11761510severely doubt the fat woman had anything to do with this, hasbro is just getting rid of everyone they can these days because shareholders demand ever increasing profits even while the ship is sinking
>>11761525>when a company lays off or runs off their talent while keeping all the DEI checkboxes
>>11761525>Boss Fight must be doing something exciting if they were able to pull him away from Hasbro. They fired Eric Arana and his wife who ruined the company by making terrible head sculpts based on their friends and family, and were doing woke shit toys. They recently announced a bunch of Conan and Red Sonja figures in both 1:12 and 1:18 scale. Several years back they fumbled a deal to make toys for Dynamite Entertainment to make Red Sonja and Vampirella figures.
>>11761529Shareholders are usually well-educated, and know that profits come from producing what sells a lot for the lowest possible price. At this point Classified exists to hedge against the giant losses Star Wars generates.
>>11761531Has lame and gay, bro.
>>11761531You okay chief?
>>11761552>>11761545>samefag It's true. They lost a lot of money last year, and losing talent while pandering to leftist crap isn't going to fix it.
New Joe movie confirmed
>>11761535What a salty loser
>>11761535pretty brave of him to make that keychain of someone jerking off
>>11761565It doesn't work in live action, and Hasbro and Hama refuse to understand that wider audiences don't give any fucks about ninjas (which is why SE Origins was a flop). The ONLY way it could work is if they rip off the scripts from Metal Gear Solid, Syphon Filter, and Splinter Cell.
>>11761535Yea, I'm aware of all that and I'm thankful it happened. I just wonder what they have going on in the background that we don't know about. I can't imagine Red Sonja and Conan are IP's that would pull someone like Lenny away from the largest company in the industry. Especially when he's spent pretty much the last decade working on Joe, a brand he is pretty passionate about, and built Classified from the ground up to a pretty decent success. Not to mention to make the move from Pawtucket to Boston with them. Boss Fight is also in Mass, so maybe it was planned all along and they're going to let him and Corey do something all original for them. Either way this makes me wonder how much life is left in Classified after this.
>>11761612>how much life is left in Classified after this. The line's on a good trajectory at this point, it's not like he was the only person doing the sculpts, it'll be fine. Especially since its Hasbro's only line with a 100% Haslab success rate
They fired Lenny cuz he's a white male. Sad but true.
>>11761616He was the lead designer though.>Especially since its Hasbro's only line with a 100% Haslab success rateThat's not even true. TF, Ghostbusters, and SWTVC have all had 100% successes.
>>11761620I forgot about Ghostbusters, and I lumped all SW ones together, but didn't TF have to extend one in order to fund?
>>11761619When given how insane companies got with the DEI woke crap, I don't doubt it.
>>11761624>I lumped all SW ones togetherAs you should since it's all under the same brand. And the SW brand at Hasbro is not 100% successful. And Ghostbusters is spent. After the proton pack and Ecto-1, there's nothing left to do from it.
Yeah Im just here for the toys
>>11761633Ross could make more of they'd list them online like the scalpers who hoard them do.
>>11761630Janine in Ghostbuster suit
>>11761630>And Ghostbusters is spent. After the proton pack and Ecto-1, there's nothing left to do from it.Galactus sized Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
>>11761640>implying thats a good idea Nope >implying these are for resell Nope >implying the 1991 intro didnt have 7 of these rising out of the sand I still need 1 more
Oh yeah and they didn’t come from Ross. U jelly?
>>11761650Not really. The over-sized scorpion is what ruins it for me. It's too large to the point of being comical.
>>11761653It’s just a mutated creature or else it could be the largest scorpion on earth. Either explanation works for me. Im just thinking how it’s even more unrealistic if an entire squad of them all has their own. Seems more plausible if the whole group just had the one. Like a murderous mascot.
>>11761653I too was not the biggest beasts-in-my-Joe guy but Ive warmed up to them if for no other reason than they’ve always been a thing. Some characters are “beast masters”. Also it’s annoying how every Joe fan picks and chooses where to draw the “realism” line. The purist “G1ers” seem to forget tha everyone was shooting lasers at robots from day 1. Me personally I like it all. The more you take a shine to the later stuff the more boring the older stuff gets
>>11761658Well if you bought a stack of them at $40 each when they'll be hitting Ross at any time now, then hey more power to you. >>11761646I think life-sized statues of characters need to make a comeback.
>>11761660>Also it’s annoying how every Joe fan picks and chooses where to draw the “realism” line.I'll admit I've fucked up in that regard, mainly because I prefer the cartoon but also prefer some degree of actual realism. I just don't see Cobra spending R&D dollars developing bigger bugs when there's dinosaurs to produce.
>>11761661I got them on clearance at Target, thanks. >>11761664Gotta start somewhere
>>11761658I don't like any troop having a pet, it's more special if it's just one dude. So in my headcanon there is just one Desert Scorpion and he's basically like Croc Master
>>11761699In my headcanon the leader of a team has the pet and others don't.
>>11761699Thats definitely how I roll too. First and foremost there is only one Alley Viper in my personal Joeverse. There is also one episode of the show that sort of kind of backs that up in his case. Desert Scorpion was definitely going to be another case of this for me as well before Target practically forced these on me at the price I paid. Hell, maybe I will still hold to that and only keep one Of him. and just use the others for trade bait. Not sure yet, we’ll see. All I know is that the second you start troop building any character it automatically becomes less special. They become cannon fodder by default.
And then again sometimes more is cooler
I’m pretty sure Lenny got to do Golobulus before he left. But I’m sad we’ll never see his take on the 1990 Joes, Cesspool, or Headman and the Headhunters.
>>11761765The time it takes from initial proto sculpt to production sample figure is around a year and a half. We'll be seeing his work through a good part of next year.
>>11761767I know. But with the exception of Golobulu, like I said, I doubt those other characters are in the pipeline for the next 16 months. So Lenny never got a chance with them.
>>11761508Considering he was a transfag and apparently liked doing fantasy stuff.... i think he was one of the problems with the GI Joe line.GI Joe Classified was too techno-y, hence so many of the fans making negative remarks about it early on and because all the designers can't do anything else, they're too afraid to do anything but catering to nostalgiafags. So with Lenny gone, i hope this means they have the talent to do something original again.Or maybe he's not getting replaced......
>>11761661>Well if you bought a stack of them at $40 each when they'll be hitting Ross at any time now, then hey more power to you.ooof... did he realy cost $80 and $40 is half off?$40 is super expensive. wtf.
With Lenny gone, what will be the 2027 HasLab?
>>11761830>they're too afraid to do anything but catering to nostalgiafags. If that were true then we wouldn't have gotten Ghost and GRIM Vipers, nevertheless modern characters like Helix, Zanya, Dawn Moreno, and Sundown. >>11761973No one's even verified what the 2026 HASLAB will be. After the SW LAAT/i barely made it and the Tron set colosally flopped, all HASLAB discussion from Hasbro itself has fallen off of a cliff with only rumors of a Thunder Machine floating out there.
Last year Hasbro did four HASLABs (Lio Kaiser, Tron, Snowcat, and Laat/I). We're almost 1/3 through this year with nothing but a rumor of the thunder machine. I'm getting the impression that Hasbro is slowing down with them now.
>>11762228I mean the world is falling apart around us and there's tons of uncertainty. Makes sense not to do crazy expensive shit.
>>11762237>Makes sense not to do crazy expensive shit.Or to make better choices like the Rattler which at over 26,000 went well over the 9,000 MOQ.
>>11761664>I just don't see Cobra spending R&D dollars developing bigger bugs when there's dinosaurs to produce.I tend to have the impression that Cobra's science division largely has freedom to pursue whatever mad scheme Mindbender, Dr Venom, the new dinosaur guy or whoever else wants to try this week, and Cobra will work with whatever produces results, unless someone outranking them has a specific idea they want done. So big bugs and clone dinosaurs are both things that can get worked on at different times. Those big scorpions look like they'd be hard to tame and control, so wrangling them may be part of the punishment process of being a Desert Scorpion.
>>11762382I don't doubt it, but I'd still like to see some receipts, lol. Guess we won't have to look at anymore tattooed Joes and Dreadnoks after Q2 '27 at least.
>>11762382Who is that supposed to be?
>>11762382I would like to see the Retro line rebranded as a Sunbow and comic book line, while standard Classified is everything else. I would also like to see 1:18 make a return.
>>11762382>Soap opera drama Notice how no one mentioned specific figures he's worked on or what they worked on so we could have some basis for comparison. The line has improved. That's why there's no longer those ugly knee pegs. Over the past year face sculpts have definitely improved. Can't deny that. My largest complaint is them stretching the line out to keep it going for as long as possible by throwing out shit customers don't want while hoping to eventually get to the stuff they do, then blame the customers because stores stopped carrying it because shit customers don't want didn't sell.
>>11762419Retro stuff on retro-cards is fine. It's enough to differentiate it from the regular line.
>>11761830>GI Joe Classified was too techno-y>they're too afraid to do anything but catering to nostalgiafags.huh what. nostalgia covers too much ground to say it was all about the techno-y stuff. nostalgic fans also like the realistic based military figures and the non-fantastical characters
>>11762505I'm saying I want Sunbow and comic accurate figures. I don't need a figure that was already acceptable being re-released on a Retro card with hardly any changes.
>>11762419>>11762588The retro line is already all encompassing. Look at Cover Girl, BAT, female CG, Destro etc. And with Lenny and his cartoon autism gone, I'm sure it's only a matter of time until we get some comic figures
>>11762596You already have. HELIX. Zanya. Shooter.
>>11762629Comic figures that people actually want, like Kwinn and the Oktober Guard
>>11762639Oktober Guard is most likely not getting past the execs because of the Ukraine War.Daina can be an exception because she’s from Czechoslovakia.
>>11762596>Cover GirlA garbage figure not really based on anything particular >BATWow! They painted his mask red! Such accuracy! I want actual sculpt accuracy like Super7's.>female CGWhat makes her "Retro"? She should have been a standard figure.>Destro Ir's almost identical to the standard release. There's zero reason for it to exist!
>>11762642I don't think it'd be a problem. Marvel's still using Yelena Belova in the MCU and she's a russian assassin. And we got Quarrel with a Z-Force logo after all. >>11762644They're all still based on the cartoon, low effort as they may be. If you want smoothed out sculpts, go buy the Super7 shit, they're cheap as fuck.
>>11762645>go buy the Super7 shit, they're cheap as fuck.I would but the Ultimates line is dead, because most people collect Classified. If I want a 1/12 Sunbow line there's no option. And that's really gay.
>>11762648The line is dead cause it was shit and overpriced, it was never gonna last. They're lucky they got as many figures out as they did
>>11762645Quarrel is Swiss not Russian. The Black Widows don’t work for the Russian government is the reason.
>>11762658I haven't bought a Classified figure in almost 2 years. I also hate the amount of casuals who buy them.
>>11762660>Quarrel is Swiss not Russian.Obviously, the point was that no one thought we would get any reference to Z-Force cause of the letter's association with Russia. There was really no reason to give her that logo yet they did it anyway. As long as there is no explicit association with the Soviet Union mentioned on the figures or the packaging, I see no reason why we couldn't get those characters.
>>11762644>A garbage figure not really based on anything particularshe was based on her devils due appearances. kind of like armada and zanya being dd characters also getting figures.
>>11762644>>11762669??
>>11762669>>11762674The sculpt doesn't care about the source material nor the accessories. Therefore I don't care about it.
>>11762677ok retard
>>11762667>I haven't bought a Classified figure in almost 2 years. I also hate the amount of casuals who buy them. This is the brokest thing Ive ever read on toy. And Ive been here since day 1. You must be a total fucking bum and even if you do have money you are most certainly poor in spirit. >I haven't bought a Classified figure in almost 2 years.Sounds like (you) are the casual you little bitch. Why don’t you shut the fuck up and go sit in the corner with your dunce hat. Coming here unironically spewing hate on a board for action figures. Get a life you little shit stain
>>11762434You keep saying this stupid shit but you never specify which releases people "don't want". They've been going through the entire early 80s releases at a pretty good pace, they've dropped most of the most popular figures, sometimes more then once, and have hit the most iconic of vehicles with no sign of slowing down. Hell they even do newer characters and original characters that are generally considered great additions to the franchise. The way you talk you don't even seem to like the line, so I'm curious, what amazing A-Lister super popular figure are you waiting for that up to this point has been so overlooked?
>>11762648There's always been room in Classified for all of the above. I don't get why people argue in absolutes with the line needing to be one way or another when it can be all of the above. Ultimates is dead because they were expensive and at 7" they were a shit scale. >>11762658The most valuable one is Baroness with fridge body and fat face. I don't know why.
>>11762674Which somehow managed to be the 2nd-best female figure last year behind Rattler Baroness. Damn we need a Wolverine.
>>11762382Hasbro won't exist after 2030, the retarded boston move is already them circling the drain
>>11762668What does Z-Force have to do with the Soviets?
>>11762717Just the letter Z. It was a big meme a few years back for companies to avoid it anywhere in their designs or art
>>11762686Where did I mention not buying them because of the price? I don't buy them because they keep reissuing things as Retros with only minor changes, and there's very little interest in sticking to the source material when they do Sunbow or Marvel. They always have to make random unnecessary changes that I don't care about. There's also no point in collecting or buying into too many vehicles, ruining a lot of my interest in Joe's. This line has done nothing but infest Joe with Funko Pop collectors who like Marvel Legends.
>>11762732>infest Joe with Funko Pop collectors who like Marvel LegendsThis was only happening in the first year or so of the line. At this point, the only people still in are actual Joe fans
Im so glad I never paid much attention to the cartoon or comics. Im just now finding out apparently Lifeline was some whiny pussy? No way not in my childhood; he was a medic still yes, but he was also one of the most badass commandos of anyone. Hes is the first figure I snapped their O ring because I played with him so much. As for the Classified, hes awesome. I’ve seen a lot of photos and video of people having trouble with his helmet and sunglasses which is not an actual problem. I just don’t know why they made his sunglasses gold instead of silver
>>11762753Cartoon Lifeline got the best waifu in all of G.I.Joe media. A sexy college age billionairess who just wants to fuck him and shower him with gifts.
>>11762753In my canon he was eaten by a t-rex.
>>11762382Do we owe him an apology?
>>11762753I like Doc more. Lifeline's existince doesn't make much sense either, like surely an elite fighting force could find a very good field medic who isn't a pacifist, what's so great about Lifeline that they had to have him? That said I don't mind a pacifist character because he's an interesting contrast with everybody else in the cast. Although they gave him a loophole with his judo or whatever which they said doesn't count as fighting for some reason
>>11762777no, hes still an unlikeable cunt
>>11762784It was 1986. A lot of Vietnam movies came out. The same Hasbro that turned GI Joe into an adventure line in the 1960s to protest the Vietnam war used Lifeline to be their anti-war mouthpiece in response to the Vietnam movies. That's so obvious.
>>11762674>1983>devils duederrp
>>11762796Please read the whole convo
>>11762777No, his designs are shit and his figures are boring.
>>11762382Cobra was more than fine with Lenny running things but his direction with the Joes left a lot to be desired considering the name of the brand is G.I Joe. Don't get me wrong cobra is a very important part of the brand but it's fucking wild that they're releasing a despoiler before a skyhawk. It also always seemed like it was pulling teeth for him whenever he HAD to reveal a joe character.>Oh here's your fucking soldier joe release because we have to.His bias towards cobra was becoming a problem.
>>11762884i have to wonder if they decided to just not do the skyhawk after seeing that third party one, it probably would have cost about the same anyway
>>11762887idk, but having a skyhawk which people would buy multiples of as a famazon wide release vs a despoiler which should really be reserved for something like a con exclusive limited release makes a lot more business sense. Also to me, the fans hobby skyhawk design looks more similar to something in the Halo universe than GI Joe imo. There's enough difference in the designs imo.
>>11762382>some nobody that is probably a vala dick rider>>11762777why? he's a stupid faggot
>>11762221>If that were true then we wouldn't have gotten Ghost and GRIM Vipers, redecos? WHOA, such groundbreaking toys just like the Sonic Fighters Viper and the Python Patrol Viper!>Helix, Zanya, whoa! more remakes! how new and exciting!>Dawn Moreno, and Sundown. The only actual new toys (out of 324094 redecos/remakes/etc) and you proved my point that they're afraid of releasing new shit... nevermind none of these are actually talked about, unless it's to shit on them, so i expect to see them at ross in a year.>>11762564Most GI Joes has traditionally come with quasi-futuristic shit, because it's based on technology that's already in the pipeline or was already prototyped by the military. If it wasn't a straight up copy of a real gun/vehicle.Whereas Classified GI Joe line was mostly just made up shit like Apex Legends or Titanfall.Again, there's a reason why they dropped the early style from the line and switched over to just releasing shit for nostalgiafags. So people like Lenny got into GI Joe to revamp the line and turn it into something new, but their work was rejected by the majority of the fans/kids, so their talent went to waste just slightly modifying the original designs, instead of doing what GI Joe was doing in the 00s and 10s (making new shit and doing a great job at revamping GI Joe).
why was the 1990s/2000s Action Man all over the place?>constantly changing story>poor build quality vehicles>the shift to Xtreme sports
>>11762982because nobody gives a shit about action man and they had shitty writer. And sports as cartoons were actually pretty popular back then, despite not actually getting ratings, hence this series having a pilot/microseries about mechs in combat as a sport and the actual series becoming about mechs as roller skating racecars. It's very easy to write about something as generic and linear as a sport team wanting to win at their sport.
>>11762992>toyline writer
>>11763009action man was pushed through the cartoons
>>11762884>it's fucking wild that they're releasing a despoiler before a skyhawkOr Firebat, which judging by the values of originals is their most valuable and popular single-person aircraft. But they keep holding it while they keep pushing "YOU GOTTA BUY THIS SHIT FIRST IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE LINE GOING TO GET TO WHAT YOU WANT" while WalMarts and Targets are dropping carrying the line completely due to people not wanting Big Lob and all the other shit they crapped out that people didn't want. And I was genuinely heart-sunken when they showed Despoiler in place of the small vehicles they fucking know people are waiting on. I'm glad we're getting the Swamp Skier, but damn. >>11762969>redecos? WHOA, such groundbreaking toys just like the Sonic Fighters Viper and the Python Patrol Viper!Repaints and new gfigures made out of parts of other figures are the norm, and it's been that way since 1982. >The only actual new toys (out of 324094 redecos/remakes/etc) and you proved my point that they're afraid of releasing new shit... nevermind none of these are actually talked about, unless it's to shit on them, so i expect to see them at ross in a year. They release new shit all the time. Look at the list of what's coming. Very little of it is a repaint. And even their repaints are retooled, which is why we got two different Cover Girls with two different heads. >just releasing shit for nostalgiafags.Brand name sells. Selling all-new shit CAN sell, but it's harder to do. Ask any Joe collector which ones they're waiting on and hoping for, and none of them are gonna say "I'M WAITING ON NEW SHIT WITHOUT A NAME AND DOESN'T EXIST YET BECAUSE I'M HARDCORE AND WANT REAL MILITARY AND REAL SCI-FI AND NOT THAT GOOFY OLD STUFF THAT'S NOT ABOUT ME." Their lists will all be cartoon, comic book, and vintage toy derived.
>>11762792Hasbro didn't make Lifeline a pacifist, his toy had a gun, as does his Classified toy. It was the cartoon that made him an anti-gun pacifist.Doc was the GI Joe medic that Hasbro didn't give a weapon, just a flare-launcher, and the filecard Hama wrote for him made him a pacifist.
>>11763141Then he was given the "Lisa Simpson" treatment of being a mouthpiece for the social and political views of the cartoon writers.
>>11763077To be fair, the Despoiler is pretty popular and a huge complaint about the modern era 3.75 GI Joe was how we never got it or ANY IG vehicle. Let alone how the only single card IG troop we got was the artic version and how the regular IG was perma locked up on multi packs, with a off colored IG Destro or the really shitty first release Viper. And how EVERYONE ELSE was convention exclusive and lazily made. Like how the Animators were straight up repaints of the Strato Viper body with the Lamprey masked head.
>118 posts >im the only one who has posted a photo of my toys >you remember youre talking to people who don’t actually buy these figures Well I guess it’s actually impossible to discuss toys on here now
>>11763230So it's impossible because others aren't posting pics of their shit? And people aren't posting pics because according to you no one but you owns anything? Right.
>>11763238Post your toys and then I'll read what you wrote
>>11763230Here you go anon
>>11763277I'm the guy who told you months ago that I keep everything in storage bins, and don't display. So I'm not gonna fish shit out because you can only talk to a picture. Quarrel looks too much like a lesbian soccer player. Origins Scarlett has a great head sculpt, and is overall somehow one of the best females in the line.
>>11763291sorry forgot to post I'm referring to in the second half >>11763286
>>11763291>>11763292Maybe I like lesbian soccer players. Origins Scarlett is good, I just wish they'd given her ears so I could try some hair swaps
>>11763230I don't buy many Joes, I just collect the generic looking guys I can use as regular soldiers. I do have the Vamp though and do not regret it. I really need to take more cool pics of it outside. I don't post in these threads very often, I just come to watch you guys argue.
>OUT OF STOCKFUCK!
>>11763077>Repaints and new gfigures made out of parts of other figures are the normyeah, as cheapass filler and it doesn't require talent, especially since they started using computers to sculpt shit. Any normie can edit that shit now. So who's replacing Lenny?>Brand name sellsAnd if that's all they can do, it's no wonder so much shit has ended up at Ross and they've lost a lot of support from Walmart and now Target.Again, back in the 80s, 90s, 00s, and early 10s, GI Joe was constantly being revamped and with brand new designs, and was popular for the majority of the time. Even VvV was popular, despite the change to Sigma 6. Sigma 6 was done to capitalize on anime being popular at the time and while GI Joe was still popular, because Hasbro viewed S6 as a shift to greater popular. IT was akin to when Hasbro shifted to gI Joe EXtreme in the 90s, since GI Joe had been experiencing renewed interest in the GI Joe brand in the 90s but wanted to capitalize on superheroes. So the fact that they even experimented requires talent and they won't do that today, because they're not going to put money into a waning brand. Shit, they dont even put money into large vehicles anymore, instead requiring interest free loans from their customers to make them.>>11763189>a huge complaint about the modern era 3.75 GI JoeNot on /toy/. /toy/ was happy with all the awesome shit we were getting.IT was only a problem with nostalgiafags, like at yojoe and theterrordrome.
>>11763441Damn. It sold out before I knew it was out. I had assumed that it would be released around July 4, which is America's birthday. >>11763476You left out the part where absolutely all of that shit was massively cheaper than anything now. The price does matter, and the masses have by and large been priced out of the market.
>>11763189I feel like anyone complaining that we're getting a Despoiler with our Iron Grenadiers Destro should just have their opinion discarded because it's obviously wrong. Is it the most iconic vehicle in the line? No, certainly not. Is it still an iconic vehicle packed with a highly demanded figure, who originally came packed with said vehicle? Yea, so it's awesome we're getting it as a set again. Sky Hawks and Firebats will come in time, this line has a lot of life left in it. >>11763286Huh, that Scarlet head looks good on Quarrel, kinda disappointed I didn't grab some sets when they were cheap. Falcon is also pretty generic so he'd be great troop builder fodder as well. >>11763476>interest free loansNo matter how much you try to push this, it will never not be the dumbest thing posted in a thread. Which is saying something because you say some incredibly dumb ass things.
Managed to snag a PO for the Cobra-La Royal Guard. He looks so, so fucking cool. I'm pretty new to the Joe media (started reading the comics recently, they're pretty dope, wanna try the show out at some point) but I can't say no to a freaky bug-man-thing like that. Gives me slight Zentradi vibes somehow.
>>11763511Snag a PO? It's like in stock everywhere, unless you're not in America.Anyway hope you like it, I like it, makes me wish it was like $27 I would have bought more than two
>>11763515I'm in the UK, but good to know!
I was on a probably 3 year hiatus from Classified and then I found a Cobra Commander at Ross. Lol. I barely even bought it and it ended up leading me to get probably 15 figures in the past month. Maybe more. I can’t seem to bring myself to drop the cash on any of the vehicles though which sucks
Lol I said 15 it’s probably more like 30 lmao someone take my debit card off me please
>>11763506A toy company normally gets loans to make products. They pay interest on these loans. Hasbro has a line of credit to do exactly this, hence constantly making products without you ever even knowing they're going to produce the product and releasing it after 1-6 months of heavy handed marketing. When Hasbro makes a Haslab product, they're getting a loan from you. Unlike when using their line of credit from their lenders, they're not paying you a single penny for the money you are giving them up front to produce a produce that won't get made unless they receieve the money ahead of time. They market the fuck out of needing your loan to make the product and you won't get that product until it's actually produced and shipped almost 2 years later. In short, you're a simpleton who doesn't understand concepts an American high schooler does.
>>11763482I think they said the 250th Joes will be at other retailers, so there's a good chance they'll show up somewhere like Amazon. There's Chinese sellers who already have them in hand on Ebay.
Going to Ross for the first time in my life tomorrow, what can I expect
>>11763550maybe nothing.maybe somethign.Ross is a crap shoot, hence me going to 5 different ones almost weekly and only sometimes finding something interesting (which i may or not own). I usually don't buy anything, even when i find something interesting.
>>11763532>>11763534The rate they're pumping these figures out is obscene and most of em are fantastic so it's hard to pass on any of em. It's very easy for a classified collection to grow out of control before you even realize it. We're pushing 250 figures in the line at this point, and it's only like six years old. >>11763536Stop spouting stupid shit. You keep spouting "interest free loans" like it means something. It's a bullshit term you throw at things you don't like despite not having any meaning. That said, if it even were a thing, I would gladly directly give money to a company to make the things I like so they don't need to pay interest to some third party lender who contributes nothing. Interest is never a good thing unless you're the one collecting it, and if you're collecting interest you're a scumbag business who can't do anything productive. I get your dad works for a bank or something, but you really should stop licking the boot of middlemen.
>>11763550They just built one not too far from me, I might have to start visiting it on the regular after hearing how it's always this holy land of cheap but highly sought after figures.
>>11763575> I would gladly directly give money to a company to make the things I like so they don't need to pay interest to some third party lender who contributes nothing. Interest is never a good thing unless you're the one collecting itAnd that's fine, but stop being a retard who doesn't want to believe that 2=2=4 Hasbro wouldn't be producing shit if they didn't use their credit to produce the goods, same as when they get your interest free loan to produce any of their Haslabs. Normal GI Joe toy that's sold at Walmart and Target that was produced on credit: 2+2=4Haslab that's directly funded by consumers: 1+1+1+1=4 .... except Hasbro pays zero to get the money from you, unlike with their normal credit line.At least when walmart/target pay up for an exclusive, effectively funding the toy, they're getting a wholesalers discount. Despite you buying directly from Hasbro (with an interest free loan), you're paying as if Hasbro had to pay for retailer mark up too. That's a bigger rip off than a usury fee, huh?
>>11763506The despoiler is a poor choice for a wide release vehicle. I'll tell you exactly what's gonna happen, it's going to sit and get heavily discounted by retailers which is going to further devalue the line and make retailers hesitant on purchasing vehicles in the future. Long term it's a bad decision for the line, the despoiler is more appropriate for something like an SDCC exclusive. You want to use those slots for the really cool shit that people wouldn't normally buy multiples of if it was wide release, but just might because it's a convention exclusive. You also don't want to waste SDCC slots for bullshit based off of one off sunbow episode for a $125 cold slither box set that's been sitting on pulse for almost a year now.
>>11762777I'll check ya, but I ain't apologizing.
>>11763506We're in year 7 of the line with no Skyhawk or Firebat in sight. Fuck the excuses and fuck being told to buy shit I don't want to keep the line going to eventually get to what I want. >>11763532I don't care what others say. Retro CC really is one of my favorites in the line, and encompasses the classic CC perfectly. The vac-metallizing face plate is the perfect touch. >>11763550Lots of Marvel and Star Wars. >>11763692I agree. Some may like it and I'm not going to crap on that, but there are other more iconic small vehicles that people have been waiting longer for.
>>11763560This. I've never seen those hauls west coast Ross stores produce.
>>11763841The problem is scalpers know the stock days, and get there early to hoard everything. The fucking fuckers are the reason why Classified figures went from $5 to $10 within a month because Ross figured that if scalpers can flip everything online for $20 each, then Ross could be making more too.
>>11763560I went in today and got a retro CC. My first Joe. The collection starts here
>>11764205That's a good one to start with. It'll help to ask Ollie's and Ross when their stocking days are so you can get there early before the scalpers hoard everything. You'll find more variety that way.
>>11764265Good ideaCobra Commander was the only Joe they had but they had a few MOTU toys. They also had a lot of Skibidi Toilets, I could have picked up a few for troop building
>>11763851Like Target/Walmart, they don't give a shit if scalpers are buying their stock. The reason Ross increased the price on GI Joes is either because the MSRP went up or they're no longer getting their stock at rock bottom price when Walmart/Target/Gamestop already clearanced off their products and needed to dump their stock. You can look at the price sticker to see the price that the toy was being sold at. See pic? Shipwreck's wave MSRP wasn't 12.99, but it is the clearanced price Walmart had it at when they shipped the pallets off to Ross, and that's what Ross puts on their stickers.Almost everything Ross carries is overstock and remainders, so their prices are almost always half off MSRP.So the only reasons it's not half off MSRP is if the line sold so poorly that they got a deep discount from the distributors (walmart/target/gamestop/amazon/etc) because they couldn't sell it at their own stores. The higher the discount, the more poorly the toyline sold. Also if they got their stock directly from the manufacturer, the price will either be MSRP or slightly below MSRP.Also also, anyone having trouble making a post? captcha kept looping on verification (had to check other sites to see if it was my browser: it wasn't) and i needed to unblock a whole mess of shit to make it work again. seems like 4chan did some modifications to the site again and I won't be surprised if post counts goes down
>>11763835Maybe with Lenny home we’ll finally get a Sky Hawk or Firebat or Polar Battle Bear.
>>11764592It's just you. My captcha works fine, didn't need to make any changes to no script or ublock either. My shit just works. Try updating your browser to a version from this decade.
>>11764592>>11764692That happened to me a couple days ago, working fine now though.
>>11764637So you're saying that they have worse designers, who are even more afraid of doing anything original, thus just need to upscale copypastas to please nostalgiafags? pretty shit.>>11764692like i said, it wasn't my browser and it wasn't captcha, because i tried other sites that make me solve captchas and they all worked like the sun rising in the morning.I had to unblock brand new shit that 4chan added to make it work. .io and .us stuff.>>11764720taking 2 minutes to post was fun
>>11764795I haven't made any changes to my no script or ublock whitelists in years. If they added something, it doesn't affect me. Try using Firefox instead of Jewgle Chrome.
>>11764842I'm using Firefox and have had the same problems with site verification and captcha verification. It's working fine now though. >>11764637IF it was him holding them back. He wasn't the brand manager. He was her employee.
>>11764866Sounds like a (You) thing. I haven't changed my whitelists in years.
>>11764870Neither have I. The problem just popped up for a couple of days, then went away on its own.
>>11764592Shipwreck is such a hard character to get right. In the cartoon he's one of the best characters, but that's impossible to translate it into toy form.
>>11764904Sounds like a (You) thing.
>>11764909it's only impossible because he's from a stupid 80s cartoon and it doesn't translate well to a series 99% of kids treat as serious business war drama and maybe 2% of adults treat as LOLSORANDUMBXDSo of course a jack nicholson wannabe isn't going to be well liked in toy form, especially when everyone has viewed him as being gay since the 80s.It's no wonder Hasbro tried to turn him into a navy seal, though i guess that didn't stick.
>>11764927So he's gay after falling in love with a Cobra mermaid, then getting his guts ripped out when she and the daughter he thought he had turned out to be synthoids? Bullcrap. If you don't like him that's fine, but your reasons are crap you had to make up to rationalize it.
>>11764947>not knowing most everyone who knew about GI Joe viewed Shipwreck (amongsts others) as being flaming homosyou zoomers are deadends
>>11764962Are you doing that thing again where you assume your opinions represent everyone?
>>11764927Gay??Shipwreck was pulling more pussy than a saucer of milk.Which idiots thought he was gay?
1991 Heavy Duty was my first experience that I can remember of having to hunt for a figure. I could not find this motherfucker to save my life. I was so happy when I finally found him. This new one is an excellent update
V4 Snake Eyes is my new favorite classified figure. Imagine my shock when I check back on this line and they finally made a bunch of my favorites. It took them way too long to start catering to fans of the early 90s stuff which is unironically peak GI Joe
7 yr old me is seriously tripping the fuck out right now
>>117650567 year old me is mad the new one doesn’t have neon guns and swords
>>11764927>a series 99% of kids treat as serious business war dramaPress X to doubt.
>>11764962>people at the time JOKED about Shipwreck and Gung Ho being gay>your autistic ass automatically assumed everyone BELIEVED Shipwreck and Gung Ho were gay>do this for years while everyone jokes about it>claim to know it all about GI Joe but misunderstood long running fandom in-jokesKek, pathetic.
>>11765065They should have at least gave a spare set to that new Zartan coming out. Including those as extras would have added a lot of appeal for many. I bet they are saving that for the possibility of retro cards. People who think this line is doomed dont know Hasbro very well. They already have the tooling available to keep this line going forever if they wanted to.
Armored Commander is another of the best in this line. Hes so awesome. If you have any interest in this one I would grab it sooner than later. I had a very difficult time finding this one and he is drying up online. All my usual brick and mortar go-tos are all sold out which is always a good barometer for the future of the figure.
My boy Sci-Fi, the filter. You can tell if someone is cool or not by wether or not the like Sci-Fi. If they hate him you know you are dealing with a 50 year old boomer who wishes they would make nothing but endless greenshirts.
That Ross CC started this and a Ross Beachhead really set the hook. Great figure. Here is a fun fact for you: Beachhead’s gun is a real firearm called the Wasp.
Ross Cobra Commander’s gonna save the entire line

The 250th figures are arriving in hand. Entertainment Earth just put up links, so these will become more available for online retailers.

>>11765182It does motivate someone when a sub-team contains a whole new sculpt. I'm planning to pick up all four. I just wonder how long we'll have to wait to get a regular Lady Jaye? We're about due soon for another wave. Who will it be? I'm desperate for a new Destro and Baroness. Same for a Sunbow Cobra Trooper.
>>11765211This wave just came out, so it'll probably be another two months until the next one. And I wouldn't mind a Baroness in there.
>>11765168>Super7Lol no
>>11765264They're great figures. I'd like them more if they had painted rivets and if Snake Eyes and the BAT were both sold in black, but they're still alright.
>>11765292I don't really like the faces
>>11765128>because millennial boysIs this some specifically American thing to obsess over which 'generation' you were born in, and act like someone who might be born as far as 15 years before you is kindred and you're totally the same, while someone born say five years after you may as well be an alien? As irritating as it is that Hasbro stopped making female Joes for years after Jinx, the earlier figures must have been selling badly for successive years for them to have made that decision, rather than it being some weird judgment on an entire generation of kids' sexuality.
I’m surprised there hasn’t been much rumors about 1988 line and later made into Classified figures.Thought we’d had Rock-Viper or HEAT Viper by now.Scoop would be the first 1989 Joe.Heavy Duty was the first 1991 Joe but nothing about that.

Not bad for $20
I got Croc Master, he rules but does he not come with a stand? I figured they all came with them. Also he could use more hands

>>11765071>grow up in an age where childrens action cartoons haven't been a thing for 20 years>GI Joe lost all its relevency with kids for the past 15Well, no shit will you zoomers doubt that kids used their army men figures to have fatalistic army battles, but that's how kids used to play with their army men toys. It's no wonder you guys don't even know that shipwreck was called gay for 30 years, because everyone got called a nazi and deplatformed for making fun of gays. I can't even imagine what it's like to be a zoomer, because it sounds like living in a hole made for karens>>11765042Doesn't really matter if he was canonically straight in the stupid children's cartoon, because he was viewed as a Village People from day one and was called gay by popular media that had 5-10x more viewers (each) than the cartoon for over 20 years.Saying Shipwreck isn't gay is like saying Michael Jackson isn't a pedo.
>>11765451That's good to know
>>11765487>called gay by popular mediaChildren and teens didn't have instant access to the internet and didn't give a shit what adults said was gay to each other. They watched their favorite cartoons when they were airing and begged their parents to buy the toys. The parents bought Joes in mass. The parents didn't stop and say "wait this is the character I made gay jokes about, we're not buying this guy" when Shipwreck and Gung Ho were released alongside Snake Eyes and Duke.
>>11765534>Children and teens didn't have instant access to the internewhat does this matter? Everyone knew who the Village People were before GI Joe came out. No one needed to tell another kid or teen that Shipwreck looked like he belonged singing YMCA.Shit like Wizard and Toyfare didn't appear until 5 years after the GI Joe cartoon got canceled, so you had almost 20 years of them mocking GI Joes stereotypical looking gay characters.Mad Magazine was already mocking GI Joe for being gay decades before the cartoon came out and never stopped until GI Joe fell out of relevency.Nevermind dozens of other TV shows and talk shows for 25 years, plus TENS OF THOUSANDS of fansites and fan videos when the internet took off. You're clearly have no idea what the world was like before the smartphone turned everyone into Karen 2.0.Also, parents didn't give a shit. Parents barely knew anythinga bout GI Joe. It's the kids themselves knowing how gay he looked, hence despite Shipwreck being a primary chararcter in the cartoon for nearly the entire run, was not a popular character or toy with kids. Parents may buy the toys, but it's the kids choosing them.I know it's hard for zoomers to understand this, but toys used to be spur of the moment purchases because they used to be really cheap. So stuff like GI Joes were not only found in the toy aisles, but also right next to the cash registers up front, next to candies and magazines. ... do you kids even know what a magazine is? Anyway, because GI Joes were right next to the cash register, a kid would coerce their parents to buy them.
>>11765487>Well, no shit will you zoomersNot a zoomer, retard. Nobody was treating GI Joe as super serious war drama when they could watch Platoon or Full Metal Jacket. Unless you were one of those weird kids that weren't allowed to watch Rambo because your parents were Mormons, so the Joe comic was the closest thing you had to a serious war drama.>fatalistic army battlesI bet you didn't reenact Sneak Peak shooting Sgt Slaughter in the bathroom after he got punished for keeping a jelly donut in his footlocker. You were just going pew pew like the other kids were doing with their Transformers and Star Wars figures. At most, you were like Fred Savage in The Boy Who Could Fly thinking you were being super serious by having little funerals for your Joes and burying them in the backyard after going pew pew for a couple of hours.Serious business war drama. Get the fuck out of here. You aren't mature enough at age 50 to argue sensibly without immediately ranting about zoomers, so I doubt you were ever mature enough to do anything beyond going pew pew.
>>11760629Cool
>>11765578>Not a zoomerLOL. Don't lie.Tons of kids watched Hamburger Hill on saturday afternoons on their local nonaffliated tv channel and then played it out with their GI Joes the same afternoon.Like, wtf is wrong with you that you don't know that kids loved watching something like that and didn't immediately want to play it out. Nevermind we're still talking about fucking ARMY MEN toys who are decked out to murder each other by shredding them apart with chunks of metal, yet you're pretending kids only bought them to throw cream pies at each other.IF you're not a zoomer, are you a girl or homeschooled autist whose parents kept him away from the ultra violence of the 70s, 80s, and 90s? There's no way you don't know didn't know how kids used to play back then, unless you're a zoomer or something is wrong with you.And you truly do sound like something is wrong with you, because you don't understand how kids are inspired to fucking play in the first place. Too much ipad time, no doubt.
>>11765603Pew pew.No different to kids reenacting Optimus getting wasted by Megatron. You weren't reenacting Casualties of War with Baroness as a Vietnamese village girl. You were going pew fucking pew.You are such a fuckhead for acting like kids going pew pew like they did with their Roy Rogers figurines 20 years earlier was SUPER SERIOUS DRAMA.>zoomerzoomerzoomerzoomerzoomerzoomerzoomerzoomerzoomerzoomerzoomerzoomerzoomerzoomerDo you know how retarded you sound?
>>11765487I'm old enough that I was getting the original line when it was new in stores. I have been an active member of the collecting community since the 90s. You are full a shit and a fake oldfag.
>>11765627>Do you know how retarded you sound?I'm not the one pretending to be nearly 50 and thinking you needed the internet to know something, zoomer. And despite you so close to being a kid, you don't understand how kids love to emulate shit they watch on tv when playing with their toys. Especially kids who buy military action figures with scary baby killing ak47s and genocidal pulse rifles. You grew up with an ipad and unlimited internet, so you don't you don't understand that a kid back in the day had entire afternoons where they couldn't fill every single second of every hour with their autistically specific interests. Once saturday cartoons stopped showing at 10am, they might watch a cool ultra violent 80s movie and then nothing else, because TV was only showing infomercials or shitty romance movies on 8 channels (30 if you had cable). So you'd go outside and emulate giving blood to the blood god with your military action figures.
what is this Ai? why do faggots have to post fucking paragraphs of low quality post?
>>11765308There was a distinct shift from how Hasbro marketed to Gen-X boys to how they marketed to millenial boys. >>11765792The store just went through a major rearrangement so that would make sense. No space on the main aisles for Joes though, so that's now 3 out of 4 walmarts near me that just won't be carrying them anymore I guess? Sucks
>>11765929They always blame the customers for not buying the crap figures while reducing the number of stores carrying the line. That causes a few stores to end up with more than what it can sell, so even the good ones end up as surplus. While they blame the customers for not buying more.
When you see a new Classified figure on clearance at Walmart 99% of the time the reason is because someone returned it to that store which does not carry the item. There is no spot in the planogram for it so it goes straight to clearance. This phenomenon has been observed many times lately due to how many Walmarts stopped stocking Classified.
>>11765949Or it's because the few Walmarts that still carry it get the entire inventory meant for a lot more stores than actually sell it, and end up with a surplus beyond what they can reasonably sell within their local areas.
I still see classified figures at all three of my walmartsthe doomer fag will always look like a retard
>>11766201>my anecdotal evidence trumps your anecdotal evidence, so hah!
>>11766204yesif this isn't how you live your life, you aren't really a human beingalso the other "anecdotal" evidence is "walmarts don't carry classified anymore" which is that fag speaking for things he can't possibly know, whereas I am
>>11766097This doesn't really make sense, unless some Walmart suddenly burned down.Stores account for stock ~3 months ahead of time, which is how products' release schedules work too. So all total stock that is ordered is already accounted for and has a space for it on store shelves, hence empty pegs and clearances to make space for new stock. When there's surplus (a line that sells well will always have this), it doesn't go to stores, it stays in the distribution warehouses and goes out when a store needs more stock. It's embarassing how there's people who don't understand how businesses actually have plans.>>11765792>zoomer who thinks the past was fake and gayor are you a third worlder?

>>11766766>It got a lot of hateOn the internet by people who weren't going to buy a Scarlett figure anyway. Retro looks nothing like 80s comic nor cartoon Scarlett which is the ENTIRE POINT of the Retro Classified line.
>>11766777>On the internet by people who weren't going to buy a Scarlett figure anywayEveryone who complained about it bought the figure, wtf are you talking about. >>11766777Also the point of the retro line was always to be a cheap way to get extra money for rereleases. It's a miracle we get new sculpts in that line at all

I just got Frag Viper and he is sick. I love the headsculpt underneath the helmet too. I’m definitely not troop building him, he has too much potential as an individual imo. I just can’t with the grenade lobbing device despite the fact that the feeding tube is so cool. Gotta find another use for it. Good thing his machine pistols are awesome.
>>11766803>me on the left witnessing another lazy Retro Classified release and not Retro Baroness v2 in her Cobra Blue jumpsuit>>11766835Welcome back, Pelvic Thrust anon.
>>11766811Put that head on the retro-card Lady Jaye figure they already have, paint the pants a darker shade of green from the shirt, and it's done. >>11766888The rumor mill has it there's two Baronesses on the way. It should be interesting to see what they look like.
>>11766903>Put that head on the retro-card Lady Jaye figure they already haveNo, she needs a new torso. One that better reflects her figure in the comics and cartoon.>two Baronesses on the wayYeah, one of them is going to covered in layers to protect from snow and cold. Yawn. I'm surprised you didn't make a joke about me identifying as Timber.
>>11766903>>11766919Yeah fuck that mold, I've hated it since it was revealed.
>>117669191. Do you identify as Timber? Are you a furfag? Some of us want to know so we can passively not give a shit.2. It depends heavily on which Arctic Baroness. There's the comic book version pictured, which is something they can do quickly by adding a poncho to Rattler Baroness. Then there's the cartoon version with her wearing a thick coat over her black battle suit. Either one can be good if done right.
>>11765487Where is the gay joke here?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw28i991-f4
I hope retro card Roadblock gets announced this year.
>>11766945Minus those fuck-ugly rivets.
>>11766939There were none. Back then sailors were known as womanizers when on shore leave to the point to where it was pretty much a stereotype. He's just doing that thing again where he assumes that his opinion is everyone's opinion.
>>11766945>>11766950Same, the arms have since been made pinless, and they made a great new set of legs with the Grim Viper.
>>11766987I kinda want to get those legs for my John Matrix custom now. The Bazooka ones I used are alright but those are a spot on match for the ones he has in the movie.
>>11764927>>11764947>>11764962 I think you are thinking of THIS GUY. BOOM YUMMY!
>>11766995 Or maybe you were thinking of Sky Pilot / Mile High? Has anyone made SPHINX action figures?
>>11766964I wonder if his mother still hangs out at dockside bars?
>>11766631>You sound like a mad fat girl.relax, I like red lipsticked whores. just like I like your mom.
>>11767103This is an 18+ board
>half the teams get fired>no mention of it
>>11767419Half of Hasbro got fired?
>>11766807I was hoping the Retro Wild Bill would be cartoon colors instead of the sunglasses wearing asparagus they put out.
>>11766995nah, I'm thinking of a hundred parodies before Venture Bros existed, because Shipwreck sticks out as gay in the cartoon.>>11766631you just have the brain of a 10 year who doesn't understand businesses have plans and are making decisions for their store on a quarterly basis. And the reason discount stores get so much surplus is just because the line sells poorly, hence discount stores also getting target and amazon stock too. Also, i saw a Cobra Commander at Ross the other day and it was $12.99. After 5 years straight of the GI Joe line being dumped at discount stores for 60-70% off, whatever stock Ross is getting is plain ol overstock instead of clearanced shit that WAlmart/Target/Gamestop/Amazon desperately needed to get rid of. ... but the fact that it's still showing up is ridiculous.
>>11767485Wrong again. There were figures that pretty much every fan of the line bought that still went into clearance. The BAT, Beach Head, retro CC, and Crimson Guard come to mind. It's that after 30 years since POTF2 Hasbro still makes the mistake of over-producing the stuff that there's demand for. They have absolute zero concept of "equilibrium quantity" of finding the exact amount that they can sell without producing too little/too much.
>>11767491>over-producing the stuffThat's some deep denial (or is this just contrarian shitposting?), because even with Star Wars, Hasbro was only producing what stores were ordering. Stores overestimated, not Hasbro, and stores were only ordering what they thought consumer demand would be.Besides, stores only overordered shit from the first couple of Phantom Menace waves. Retailed learned that the Star Wars prequels weren't the second coming, so all orders thereafter were much more sane.Whereas GI Joe has been showing up at Ross/Ollies/Marshalls/etc for 60-75% off for 5 years straight, which means for 5 years straight, stores keep overestimating consumer demand, which means every quarter they've been ordering fewer units and still suffering from too little demand.... hence the 60-75% off prices.this is probably why Lenny got fired and now half the GI Joe team?
>>11767566>Hasbro was only producing what stores were ordering. Not true. Producers hit retailers with MOQs (minimum order quantities) they must buy to get a line, and that number is always the number it takes for it to be profitable. Even exclusives aren't viable until both agree to a MOQ. WalMart is often (but always) the lowest-priced competitor because it uses economies of scale where they buy more in bulk while knowing that the more you buy, the lower the per-unit price is. Think of it as buying a carton of 18 eggs having a cheaper per-egg price than buying a carton of a dozen eggs. So they'll get exclusives by buying out the entire MOQ for a given item meant for multiple retailers because that's the only way for something to be profitable enough for Hasbro to agree to fuck over other retailing buyers. And you've never spent a day on the business side of the business world.
>>11767577>implying toy companies can force retailers to take stocklmao. Are you chinese? LOLYour command economy nonsense doesn't happen in the US, ling ling. walmarts and targets are only going to order what they think they can sell, and after 5 years of shit going to ross/ollies, that's going to be a constant decline of orders y ear after year, quarter after quarter. And who was talking about exclusives? The health of the line revolves around the normal releases and showing up at Ross is a sign of bleeding money like crazy. Lotta problems right there for GI Joe and Hasbro. Why else would Lenny leave a cushy job that would pay more than some nobody company?
>>11765081Lmfao you literally called this shit exactly. 96 comments all stating exactly what you just said haha
>>11767588I never did find one of those Ross Stingers. My area is particularly voracious for Joe stuff
>>11767600There's not many figures that the entire fan base likes. I'm not a fan of neon Robocop, but others are, so it's ok. I still don't get why in 1986 after given us a 2nd version of Snake Eyes and Roadblock, why they didn't do a new Flash instead of a new character meant to replace Flash.
>>11767485 Not as gay as Gung Ho.
>>11767602At $30 they got hoarded by scalpers pretty damn quickly.
>>11767720You mean Mr LaFitte.
The Ramp Rats are shipping out next week apparently.
Femal CG are a nice start, but I really need the female cobra troopers in not yellow web gear. A got a Spell of the Sirens to recreate.
There's just no chance they reveal a Baroness tomorrow, is there. It has never been more over, it's over at a quantum level, the Rattler Baroness wasn't just our last one, the multiverse didn't diverge, ours was the only universe in which she manifested and the concept of a G.I. Joe Classified Baroness henceforth ceased to exist in all realities.
>>11768035Those would be great.
>>11768040>Baroness is annouced>It's using the Rattler body>It's designed based on an unreleased Battle COPRS figure>Part of Ninja Force subline>Walmartcon exclusive
>>11768035I hope they never make another female trooper ever again. It’s more unrealistic than any sci-fi shit the boomers cry about. Women are literally not allowed in combat to this day lmao. Can you imagine your battle buddy is a woman on her period? Lmfao
>>11768040Are you female? When you play with Baroness do you pretend to be female yourself? Or do you touch her breast and buttocks without any sexual thoughts? Are you asexual? Or do you get chubbed up touching her privates? Or do you get chubbed imagining being a woman?
>>11768050>battle buddyfaggy term illustrating the homosexuality of the armed forcesI'd rather see women than tough men who definitely watch other men jerk off
>>11768035The Valkyries were shit. >>11768040Stop that shit. Baroness is one of the reliable characters along with Snake Eyes that Hasbro knows it can easily sell. They'll absolutely do more. >>11768050Who cares? Some of us aren't fags who want everything to be a cockfest. I personally don't want a lot of female troops but I do want them, mainly Baroness and Lady Jaye in dive suits as well as better versions of the retro designs that we got.
>>11768054This sort of thinking is what ruined gaming and Hollywood. Too many people feel the need to self-insert into anything they enjoy to the point where they don't know how to appreciate someone else's story that's not supposed to be about them. I suppose that's why there were fewer female figures when millennial kids replaced the Gen-X kids because millennial kids were seeing "ME ME ME" in everything they encountered. The 1984 Baroness is the best female figure of the 1980s. Prove it wrong. A psycho-bitch in a shiny black S&M outfit was and still is awesome. And it's anything but gay to have one as a kid or adult. And you did reveal your personality type by assuming others project themselves into the characters they like, like you apparently do.
>>11760629>10 bucks>Haven't opened it>Still brings me joy to this day
>>11768219If only 4chan could do the same
>>11768219>>11768221Did you wander into the wrong topic, bro?
>>11768048I never really understood how someone at Hasbro wanted to depict her as a brawler. But I guess that in 1995 they were desperate for any new idea to keep the line going.
>>11768035That greenshirt with the White-girl head looks more like cartoon Lady Jaye than what we actually got>>11768040What's tomorrow? Is there a Joe event going on?
>>11768233Hey wha happened to the 1:18 military scale thread?
>>11768048>>11768253I really would have liked ninja force more if there was no action gimmick fucking up the molds.
>>11768271I get it. It was a "play feature" in an era when many action figures had one, and it was a desperate move to try to save a dying brand. Yeah it was really stupid, but it wasn't meant for the original early-80s ARAH fans who were 20-somethings at that point. It was meant for 5-year-olds karate-kicking the air while screaming "HUYH HUH YUH" to try to be like Power Rangers.
>>11768256There is an event in Mexico this weekend and I think each of the Hasbro lines has a rep there. Marvel have confirmed they are revealing three things so I imagine the other lines will show something.>>11768054No.>>11768212The oil for plastic is going to run out before it happens, it's over.>>11768048You understand the curse.
Oh, also, does anyone here have Pythona, is she a good figure? It looks quite cool, I found her on sale and I'm debating whether to pick it up.
>>11768278She's a great figure for what she is as a Cobra-La. She sticks out in any Joe collection because of how "alien" she looks. Whether or not that's your taste is up to you.
>>11768277>There is an event in Mexico this weekend and I think each of the Hasbro lines has a rep there. Marvel have confirmed they are revealing three things so I imagine the other lines will show something.Cool. Hopefully the two rumored Baronesses will at least be confirmed. Apparently we're also getting Grunt in the Wild Bill/Techno-Viper wave.
>>11768277>The oil for plastic is going to run out before it happensThe earth is still producing new oil out of the compressed-and-heated remains of dead plants and animals. It'll never run out as long as organic life exists on this planet. The problem is baby-factory breeders are pushing the human population to be larger than what the resources can sustain, and they're the ones who are and will continue to be causing all shortages. So if you want to ensure there's plenty of plastic in the future, then go find anyone who has more than two kids, and tell them to stop fucking. >You understand the curse.WalMart IS the fucking curse. Their exclusives arriving at only a fraction of the stores make it a nightmare to find anything.
>>11768334I meant running out because of the Strait being closed. The Savage Crucible guy mentioned on a stream a couple of days ago that already indie companies are panicking as they only have like a couple of weeks worth of plastic in reserve and they are all expecting a disaster by Christmas.
Were there ever any female Night Creepers?
>>11768339Oil is still flowing courtesy of Mexico, Venezuela, Russia, Texas, and other regions that are still producing it. The media is doing their doom-and-gloom shit because it's a mid-term election year democrats are desperate to win, and ultimately they don't give a fuck about a country that buries women to their shoulders and stones them to death for being a whore after they're raped (Iran). "Oppression" is a fucked-up and localized concept.
>>11768352Still flowing but the total supply is smaller and the oil can be much further away from where it needs to be, adding to rising costs and delays. Further to that, not all Oil is just plain old Oil that can be substituted One to One, some oil needs more or different processing and others are unsuited to certain tasks due to needing additional processing for those tasks that other oils wouldn't require.
Grand Slam confirmed for this year. Still no word on Flash.
>>11768502>item of the yearthe next HASLAB, presumed for months to be Thunder Machine. >Grand Slam>also Grunt is coming in July>still no sign of Flash
>>11768271Yeah, it killed me that Ninjaforce SnakeEyes couldn’t even fit on his motorcycle because he had that stupid kick action that mad it look like he was wearing a diaper.
>>11768512Since they're willing to do Scarlett and since SE is one of their guaranteed money-maker characters, we'll probably get one; hopefully in better colors for his trim besides baby-blue
>>11768512Wished they repurpose the Coil into the Ninja Lightning. Just make a new front fender and add street wheels. Maybe even a side car.
>>11768528Sorry but that ninja bike is terrible-looking. And I don't get what's "ninja" about motorcycles that can be heard from a half-mile away. If they want silent stealth then I recommend a Huffy or Schwinn.
>>11768543They're samurai ninjas.
>>11768543>And I don't get what's "ninja" about motorcyclesThe only real ninja still in existence today is made by Kawasaki.
>>11768543These bikes are pure electric powered by a self contained nuclear power cell. Have you even GI Joe, bro?
>>11768528Theyre gracing us with Ninja Force and you still want more. They obviously dropped the neon shit so without the neon wheels what differentiates this from any other street bike? You can easily just buy a Maisto and call it a day. Why would they even use that fuck ugly Coil for that anyway? You just say the most obtuse shit possible because you are bored with no toys
>>11768610>They obviously dropped the neon shit...
>>11768504>item of the year Some think he means Golobulus for 2026 SDCC exclusive
>>11768645Pretty sure he's talking about dropping the things like bright pink weapons for some of those guys.
Working on some kitbashes. Green knees on Duke are bothering me, debating whether to just remove the paint or find another set of legs. Suggestions welcome>>11768000Nice trips, great shot>>11768212>The Valkyries were shitI kind of agree, proportions on them felt off and the articulation in the neck and torso was nonexistent.>>11768278Yes but the hand choices and cape bring it down a bit. >>11768502Bout time
>>11768808I actually read your Hisstank review of her earlier, I saw you didn't like the cape. I might hold off, she could go lower still, there are so many figures coming out/I already have preordered I should resist.
Lenny status?
>>11768502Lets have a real debate for once. Orange or Silver pads for classified Grand Slam?
>>11768955Orange for me but I predict silver.
>>11769040Silver is the logical choice, really. It's especially true if they're gonna (eventually) do Flash.
>>11769249New one's up. It was a pain in the ass going through Hasbro's site getting all the exact release dates of everything that's coming, but it's done. Zanya is coming out much sooner than previously expected. It comes out next Friday.
>>11768528>>11768543They are modern bikes and thus ugly as fuck.Give me a Honda Triumph looking bike any day.
