>"So, you intend to stand against me"

Certainly seems that way - antagonistic, at the very least. That being said, she's still a Megami Device, and the lore is that they're basically like their Busou Shinki predecessors in that they're really only as good or bad as their Masters.
>>

Why do these lolis continue to be so smug? How many times do they need to learn their lesson
>>

This gal's basically a Puni Mofu version of Ilshana (ie a "villain" character), so she gets to be even smugger than Mao or Tu.

Hard to tell from the pictures of the kit, but I beleive they did a disservice to the chest area. It doesn't look like there's underbood nor small tits there and it looks off

Look a little closer at the pic in the OP, as well as picrel. There's a tiny bit of underboob - she's basically got little bumps - but depending on the angle of the shot, they're hard to see, because they're either obscured by her neck ribbon or hidden in the shadows cast by said ribbon.

A bit of fucking around with the light levels of the image shows where light is bouncing off more easily. Here, you can see her right (your left) tit pretty clearly.
>>
Would it even be worth it? Assuming the runners are still sealed in plastic, they probably shouldn't smell of cigs?
>>
>>11762914
The bags pretty much always have holes in them for offgassing and pressure changes and stuff. The question is if you care or have a good way to get that smell off of plastic.

>>11762914
Even if they stink you can just soak the runners in warm water with a nice degreaser soap. Cigarette smell is more of an issue with porous materials (clothing, furniture), or stuff that's been exposed to it for yearrrrrrrrrs. All of which the kit wouldn't have issues with.

Probably because the dress up [M] body used for the grand scale doll kit is basically supposed to be Madoka (or at least match her proportions). It's less obvious from the school uniform versions but she's kinda sneaky big if the swimsuit kit is any guide. In any case, even the FAG anime was super inconsistent about Gourai's size, and heck the Kai and white Kai kits came with optional chest plates to make her bigger.

it's a lot more fun to do it this way too. Body and head are the most fun parts so it sucks to have to finish the build with legs and arms.

I'm torn between which Asra archer kit to get. They don't look hugely different from what I can tell, aside from the older kit having more armor parts?
>>
>>11764174
Kizuna is basically an expansion pack with an upgraded body and more facial expressions if you already have the original. She comes with adapter pieces to use all the armor, but not the armor itself.
>>
>>11764177
I would say that Koto even expect people buying Kizuna to already own the original, judged on Kizuna having only two preprint faces with different expressions than original and one blank.

Yeaaah I saw a few of those on AmiAmi, unfortunately the Kuazuna kit just soldout. Not sure how often, or IF they'll restock even there.
>>
>>11765016
Meant to say I saw those older 'Shadow edition' Kits on AmiAmi, the promo pics for those kits look as if someone just recolored the kit in microsoft paint or something. Just seemed weird that they didn't want to post actual pics of the finished kit.
>>
>>11765016
>>11765019
They do that sometimes for recolored bonus parts.
The kizuna shadow archer is still up for pre-order for 8k yen. Supposedly to come out this month.
I got both OG and Kizuna in their regular color scheme and it cost me about as much, so it's technically a bit more expensive to get the shadow kizuna bundle instead of separatly or just either one solo.
The shadow ninja combo-pack pre-owned comes up a bit cheaper compared to new, but she seems to be a bit less popular than archer.

Whatever you do, it's up to you to decide.
>>
>>11765028
Oh shit, I've just been looking at the pre-owned listings because they're pretty cheap, kinda just tempted to wait and see if they'll restock the Kizuna kit.

>Is it normal for the joint fits to be all over the place
Yes. This is a problem with ALL non-Bandai Girlpla. Every Koto line, every Chinese line, ALL of them. Bandai is notorious for basically being the only model maker out there that has damn near 100% perfect part tolerances, whereas with everyone else it varies. More often than not, however, joints will be too tight and you need to sand them. Pretty much the unofficial official rule of the hobby. It's much more uncommon to get a kit where all the joints are fine or have ones that are loose, and if you regularly get those then you're a unicorn and waste all your good luck in life.
>>
>>11766175
>>11766225
Maybe I have less of a tolerance for noticing this, but I don't recall dealing with any fit issues over what has to have been at least 15 Koto kits now. Among I think 3 Moderoid kits I've had one with such issues, and 1 small Pla kit that I think GSC made.
>>
>>11766225
>>11766247
I've built a bunch of koto stuff from their other lines and I go in expecting everything to be scary tight now. So I guess her left hip especially being floppy while her right required no adjustment at all was what threw me off. Usually both sides of the same joint are the same. This felt more like a chink kit in terms of joint tolerance, just all over the place. Nothing I can't deal with, just weird.
>>
>>11766225
The biggest reason Bandai has less fitment issues is actually due to their plastic being extremely soft.
That's also why their joints tend to "rip" off instead of just cracking.
They're not 100% perfect either.
RG Sazabi, RG Gaogaigar, MG Unicorn, MG Strike freedom are just a few of the famous ones.
Also don't forget the SMP line which is notorious for joint issues.

>>11766333
Bandai model kits use their proprietary KPS, which is a variant of polystyrene, while most of other girpla makers use ABS, some older bandai mg kits use ABS instead of PS and had joint issues.

Either way, it's always a good habit to not insert joint slowly to see it's too tight or too loose at first, if it's too tight then sand the joint and if it's too loose than use adhesives or paint that do not dissolve the plastic to tighten the joints.

>SMP line which is notorious for joint issues.
SMP is produced by Bandai candy toy(red logo) and made in China with ABS plastic instead of from Bandai hobby(blue logo), made in Japan with KPS so that's a totally different story.

>Anon hasn't built a model in the past 5-6 years

The only major brand with continued fit issues are Fiore and Nuke Matrix

Koto still has some fumbles on first releases occasionally, like Meltina and the shattering ball cups, and first release Lumitea's legs falling off because of a lack of a detent in the ball cup, but the significant majority can be built oob with no risk of breakage.

Ms General has never had tolerance problems, even back when the designs were dogshit.

E-model has fixed its fit issues, and their molds and printing have become much higher quality.

Goodsmiles kits are pristinely molded, even when the designs are severely underbaked, I don't have to worry about something that isn't obviously fragile breaking.
This part is important! Adjusting fit is fine. Normally on 2026 kits you dont need to test fit. Should you decide to and find a joint ACTUALLY too tight be extremely careful sanding or filing. This introduces micro scratches into the surface of the sanded surface... and if you've ever noticed joint wear on a figure produce a powery layer of plastic from friction... know that that powder that was formerly keeping the joint stiff is going to end up in the micro scratch instead of being between the friction surfaces resulting in a kit that has now become uselessly floppy.

A better alternative in most cases to tight joints, and especially on bandai ones since the soft plastic tends to set and become stuck is to use silicone grease. This keeps the joint from wearing out as fast (no power) and prevent it from getting stuck due to misshapen joints, something increasingly common on bandai kits the past few years.

The old MD shoulders that liked to torque off due to the plastic seizing up is totally resolved with silicone grease.

This is the first I've heard of this. Are you sure you don't mean the MG Freedom 2.0, Justice and Providence kits with the shitty hip joints?
>>
>>11767142
No, I'm not mistaken.
Thigh joints, wing joints were easy breaking points on the original MG.
A combination of soft plastic with gold color and terrible engineering.

I heard the MGEX has issues with the wing joint and shoulder joints but I don't have one so I can't confirm.
>>
>>11767142
The old mgs wing deployment mechanism was better off cut out since it is one of the most easily broken pieces in a gunpla ever. It's more fragile than the lifting bars on the rx78-2 3.0's backpack or the freedom 2.0's hips by a longshot. One use cam be enough to strip the mechanism.

>The only major brand with continued fit issues are Fiore and Nuke Matrix
Anon, what in the holy fuck. You can't say someone else hasn't built models in several years and then say that fucking shit. If that were even a quarter true "testfit your joints" wouldn't still be the hobby's damned rule to live by with ten million variations.
>>
Payment requests Kagutsuchi-Otsu's fat ass are going out. You other anons should get them shortly if you haven't already.
>>
>>11768022
Look grandpa, a massive minority of modern kits still have fit issues, we don't have to scare new builders into damaging their kits. The majority of people in this board are snapshitters who will get turned off the hobby if they have a bad experience trying out an expensive kit, especially so if some anon basically convinces them to fuck their shit up.

The brands anon mentioned are both not in any way common first kits for musume models, they are major outliers, and Nuke Matrix isn't THAT bad on fit anymore. While I haven't had any kit in a while that really needed modification, I retolerance and grease lots of my kits just due to personal preference.

I'm not even sure what you people are going back and forth about anymore. It's a well-known objective fact that most girlpla brands other than Bandai's have tight fits TO THIS DAY. This really isn't debatable in the slightest. Anyone who says otherwise is being disingenuous at best, or an actual unicorn that somehow goes multiple kits in a row without needing to loosen a single joint.
>>
>>11768209
That's funny to me. Lots of people seem to have done the same, but Precurefags assure me there's nothing particularly unique about her that hasn't been done before.

>>11768326
She's appealing for a show that's been around long enough for people to have heard about but never actually watched. Her muted design doesnt come off as Precure with all the ultra saturated colors so its enough to pique a newcomers interest. She's the 3rd black Cure and the first real "evil" Precure that isnt just a Cure in name only or a corruption that lasts like 5 minutes.

>>

Just because it's by a major brand doesn't mean there isn't an issue preventing them from selling certain products to certain places, for example; a kit by Kit Maker X based on a another companies IP might be licensed only for distribution in Japan so it's distributed under the condition that it's for domestic sales only, alternatively Kit Maker X might have made an all original kit but they've sold the international distribution rights to another company and protect that deal they asked AmiAmi to not sell it to international customers so they're international sales partner can sell it instead

The weirdest thing so far is the parts for the toe pads aren't molded that color. The runner is white and just spray painted, but not really undergated properly either. On the hands they need to be painted that pinkish color. Parts fit is generally good, some weird mold parting lines just because the shape of some parts isn't something you'd be able to copy from existing girlpla lines.

My order came in from Ali today, for $14 I guess it's all right. I'm not a huge motorcycles guy, but I can already identify a few areas that might benefit from improvement (chrome-coating the mirrors, maybe a panel wash over the bolts, and so on). The initial idea was that my Cyclone Hopper would have a "regular" motorcycle for her casual form and then the included motorcycle for her transformed form, like with most Riders. I'll probably do the same with the Faiz kit, but since I still can't find any information on whether or not the replacement QC parts have already been issued that one's going to have to wait.

I also finished the human parts set. I lost two of the hands like an idiot, not sure where they disappeared to. There are four options for breasts, the smallest two are the same size as the main kit. Then you have what I'd describe as huge and 'milk truck', like they're just enormous. I attempted to measure and assuming she's 1/12 scale, they work out to about an N-cup! No, only problem I've ever heard out of Kaede is the wonky early md sticky shoulder breakages.

I'm new to mecha musume kits and wanted to try to paint one - I'm familiar with painting military model kits (just build completely, prime, then paint) but not sure where to start with something like this.

My plan was to dry fit everything, spray prime all of the pieces separately (but still making sure to keep them roughly where they will go, ie: all the leg pieces in one pile, arms in another, etc), and then again paint the pieces individually with acrylic paint (I don't have anything else atm) before putting it all together at the end.

This seems pretty time consuming, but is that just how it is? I just wanted to check and ask if there's anything stupid that I'm missing here
>>
After checking Castoria Figma plagued with QC issues, Her 30ms is the best
>>
>>11771104
You should be able to figure out a good flow since you have experience, but we likely have more color separation than you're used to. My usual procedure is to snap build (dry fit) except for tiny pieces I know I'll never get back out, seam weld, disassemble everything I need to, sort by part color, paint by part color, then reassemble.
>>
>>11771104
You'll be fine. I recommend starting with a buster doll or punimofu, both series are very simple builds with plenty of options for customization.
>>
>>11771110
I had no doubt the 30ms face would be better when I first saw it. Just needs a matt coat to be 100%
>>
Bros, I just had an idea, and it's simple enough that I might actually do it. Picture this: Kagutsuchi Kou... with dazzle camo. She'll be like a big ol' fat zebra and no one will be able to determine her bearing or speed beyond "oh lawd, she comin'."

But most of the time it is just a couple posts that are somewhat relevant and pose no threat of taking over the thread yet it still triggers a sperg out.

NTA, but I really don't care what you do and do not want to tolerate. These aren't your threads. You don't own them. These threads evolved away from their original purpose over a decade ago when Busou Shinki died; we're a Girlpla thread now, and if you can "tolerate" shit like Arcanadea or >>11767781, >>11771544, and Asuka >>11772304, who aren't blatantly mechas themselves, you can - and WILL - tolerate the Kemopla stuff.

Unfortunately no. There was someone several months ago who changed the OP to say that you could only talk about the lines specifically mentioned and anything else was off topic, despite the 'and friend s' right there in the subject line. Which I've taken to mean all girlpla, which is ever expanding and diversifying and I think we should be thankful for that, personally. Then everyone shat on him and told him to go be kindergarten cop somewhere else. So the cycle repeats.

Op here. That's a fucking lie. I asked for the general to be discerning about what they post as friends before the board becomes a disaster of spergs like you posting shit that has nothing remotely to do with Busou Shinki, which I have long ago clarified that the "and friends" part of the generals name is referring to mecha musume lines like agp, frame arms girl, megami device and the like when it was originally added. The intent was not to be the girl model kit general, but the mecha musume one, hence the clarification in the gen's name.

As for the kemono shit, I don't care if they get posted despite personally finding the full anthro version disgusting. They, like Frame arms, msg, and the many doll clothes designed for them are part of the ecosystem of FAG and MD, the lines that are the successors of Busou Shinki. They are fucking garbage and I hate them, but they are friends, and like Sousai, I will not be putting them in the OP.

What the fuck was your point again?
>>
>>11772611
It was labeled a fallacy by the people using it as a tool to invade others spaces.

That said, the kemopla kits are designed by the same people that make many of the lines that this gen is about and not only share engineering they are intentionally cross compatible. They are the definition of friends.

That said, they are trashy garbage that I hate and deserve as much hate as possible whenever possible, but this is 4-chan, you can post whatever you want till the mods come home.

They're functionally no different than other waterslides, so if you know the process for applying them it's the same. They are, however, EXTREMELY thin (even more so than normal), so they're quite easy to damage. That does make them look stupidly fuckin' good once applied though. Just be really careful when applying them and make sure you understand the process well ahead of time. Make sure to use some mark setter and topcoat to seal them in when you're done.

Do keep in mind that for -most- of the decals the thinness doesn't matter much. Most of the decals are just small insignias and other such tiny decorations, so they're easy to work with. It's the hugely long ones that are a nightmare like, say, Lancer and Launcher's long ones. Seems like damn near everybody rips those things at least once. They all need care and attention, but the long and thin ones are where you're likely to actually rip the things.

Just snapped the casual body together on my first girlpla over the course of one night and one day. I'm very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this thing, which I shouldn't be since this is the ninth kit in this line.

Everywhere that could be undergated, is undergated, which is something I'm not used to since Bandai never does this except on their chrome coat kits. The plastic material for the body is also really nice, it's not the shiny type of plastic that makes it very toy-like. I also wasn't expecting this, but they actually did mold the tits to be pointy, so you can give it a paint job accordingly if you were of the mind to, instead of using the provided pastie waterslides.

The clothes they provided are also really high quality, I'm actually kind of surprised at how well it works. The tank top and stockings are made of some kind of leather material that's actually a bit smaller than the body, so that when you stretch it over the torso or leg it becomes form-fitting. The jacket is really damn nice too, it's pretty well engineered and it feels like there's some wiring in the lining to help it keep its shape when you put it on. Given how much 1/12 clothes seem to cost when I look that shit up on Ali, I'm surprised that they were able to include one full set with each kit.

My next course of action for this kit (besides buying it an entire wardrobe) is to look into doing some resin casts of the face plates. Like every other girlpla kit I've seen, they give you a bunch of waterslides for the faces but not nearly enough actual face plates to put them on. A simple two-part mold looks easy enough to make, so the real challenge will lie in mixing the correct shade of paint to match the flesh tone.

>Arcanadea is mecha musume.
Uhh...no, it's not? None of the characters are robots. Having weapons that change shape via magic isn't a mecha musume trope, it's a fantasy one. The Xeno Alma's aren't robots and don't have any mechanical parts - they're golems made out of armor parts and held together/animated by elemental magic. If a knight owns an enchanted suit of armor that can walk around when he's not wearing it, it's not suddenly a robot. Everything we're seeing in Arcanadea is typical fantasy and magic tropes, with angels, demons, monsters, gothic/medieval armor and magic, no robots or sci-fi in sight.
>>
>>11774514
Forgot my pic, but this is basically what the Xeno Almas are, except the armor bits arrange themselves to look like animals instead of people. Very much a Fantasy thing and very much NOT a mecha by any measure.

>>
>>11774523
>TS-79.
If only my retarded fucking government hadn't banned tamiya spray paints. I have a couple of cans left and then I don't know what I'll do. My local shop doesn't carry Mr. Color spray clear, just the primers for some reason, and getting anything in a rattle can shipped to you costs a fortune due to 'dangerous goods' charges.
>>
>>11774508
Take your lumps and learn to mask your joints next time, it's not so difficult and worth a new kit or an heroing.

>>11774549
Does it have to be a can? Have you checked out Seal Model?
>>
>>11774514
>>11774516
Nta, but for one mecha isn't defined by being "mechanical" per say. There are plenty of organic and magic golem type mechas, even pure energy ones, that is very much not a valid argument, even if the xeno alma didn't already have mechanical joints anyway.

That aside, it seems like you don't know what mecha musume is either, since you seem to think the characters actually need to be robots to even be mecha musume when 90% of mecha musume series are just girls in armor with mecha themes and styling.
>>
>>11774561
>Does it have to be a can?
Not really. I guess it's just time to buy an airbrush. Cans were just convenient for stuff like clear coat since you're just blasting a wide area. I'm just salty about the government making stupid rules just to stop adults being able to make their own choices. Something, something VOC content is too high, something, something environmentalism. Then they waited 5 years to actually enforce it, and then just banned it overnight. Stores could sell whatever they had left but stock at the distribution level was destroyed, so it was wasteful and stupid.
>>
>>11774587
>mecha isn't defined by being "mechanical" per say
What do you think the term "mecha" is shorthand for...? People misusing the word to apply to other, unrelated shit doesn't change the definition.
>>
>>11774640
While needless government interference is always a drag, the bright side is that having an airbrush is great. Cans are nice for busting out a quick layer of topcoat or primer, but the color choice and control you get from an airbrush can't compare. Even when you're blasting a wide area spray cans tend to be too wide.
>>
>>11774587
>That aside, it seems like you don't know what mecha musume is either, since you seem to think the characters actually need to be robots
No, but the thing about a mecha musume is that they need to have SOME sort of mechanical parts on them to qualify - a character is only a mecha musume if they actually have their armor attached, and the momemt you take the "mecha" part away, you're just left with the "musume" (girl). The characters from Alice Gear Aegis, for example, are just ordinary girls off the street; they aren't mecha musume unless they're wearing their gear. Circling back to what started this whole thing - Kemopla - the characters on their own may not be mecha musume, but the kits ARE compatible with all the same parts as Megami Device, 30MS, Arcanadea, and so on, meaning it's totally possible to make them INTO mecha musume. There's literally zero reason to bitch about compatible kits being posted here, because they're all in the same family of parts and are all capable of wearing the same shit to some degree or another (only the boob plates are incompatible).

But the overbearing autists are defining stuff they don't like as off-topic BECAUSE of this tradition. If it was just girlpla general, there would be no autistic debate over what is off topic or not. When was the last time people actually talked about busou shinki anyway? This has become the de facto girlpla gen anyway so naming it such would be most logical and convenient. Don't see why this seems like such a controversial take, lots of mecha designs use little literal mechanics, it's a common aspect of the genre since it instantly makes one series different from another.

Just look at one of the most popular anime ever let alone mecha, it has children piloting giant flesh monsters made of the DNA of space demons and the souls of their mothers. Dunbine has dead bug mechs powered by dbz auras. Gramblem and Rayearth are magical constructs. Fucking attack on titian is a mecha anime.

>Furries are an insidious menace
This is kind of where I stand on the matter. On one hand, yes, the pure furry version of the kempla kits would logically fall under the girlpla umbrella that this general also accepts, however an exception to gatekeep them out is probably a smart thing to do long-term. Like you said, they're a menace. They work themselves into everything eventually. I mean, just look at the FGC. Used to actually be pretty cool and filled with basically nothing but otaku chuds, but they let in one furry because he's REALLY good (evidently), and now they're fucking EVERYWHERE in that community to the point it's a LGBT-alphabet soup-accepting hobby now. Literally NOTHING on the planet, past, present, or future, has benefitted from allowing furries in. For every one furry that aligns with typical otaku tastes (aka everything that makes Japshit like Shinki and girlpla worth getting into) there's 100 more that seek nothing but the dissolution and destruction of everything worthwhile. An absolute plague.

Most of the people that CURRENTLY enjoy kemopla are probably perfectly fine and align with the general tastes of those here, but they won't be the last of their kind. Will Bandai release a proper swinsuit for Sestieh and the others girls with same body proportions?
>>
>>11776741
i hate that we dont habe an alternative bare legs set cause the colour C ones look too skinny for her
>>
>>11776750
I ordered the Black and white arm/leg kit.
I dont liked her new set.
>>
>>11775491
Yeah, she really is mostly for people already acquainted with Frame arms. She is pretty jank thanks to the way koto incorporated the armor into her backpack, the wheels block the shoulders and the rear of the bike likes to work its way between her legs making even just standing upright a task.

Same energy as people who tweak out about transformers being mecha.
>>
Thinking about making myself a birthday present - are new versions of Shadow Archer and Ninja worth it?
>>

>I dont liked her new set.
Which set is that?
>>
>>11776854
The one with extra short hair, legs and half cape.
>>
I ordered this today. I'm going to paint the upper thigh to look like part of suit instead of flesh tone. What would look best, black, white, or yellow? I think yellow might look interesting (if I can find the paint that matches the plastic). Can somebody do a photoshop mock-up of these different options?
>>
>>11776860
i think white would fit in better with the rest of the outfit unless you also paint other parts of it yellow or use yellow rings. black seems safe. white and yellow will be more visually interesting. sorry not good with photoshops cant help you there

There's already alot of white in front. I think it has to be between black and yellow.

>or use yellow rings
What does that mean?

I don't like the butt technology.

What kind of butt technology do you like then?

Different anon, but I'm not a big fan of the bikini cut bottoms that a lot of girlpla have, unless it's an actual swimsuit.

>Finish building Susan Gurren's body and armor save the gauntlets
>Only halfway through the manual
>Still a bunch of sprues that have barely been touched
No wonder her box was so ginormous, geeze. At least they didn't skimp on accessories.

Where can I get these boots? Could they fit Plamatea muse body?
>>
>>11777236
It always amazes me when I finish the girl, look back at my table and ask myself
>wait, there are *how many* runners left?
>>
>>11777458
I think I’ve seen them on aliexpress. I actually have that jacket now I want to try making this…
>>
>>11777458
I think it's these
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mtFtuOb
They're made specifically for MD. I don't have a plamatea so I don't know what peg size they use, but I ordered shoes from the same seller and it's easy to increase the hole size with a drill, which I had to do to adapt them to 30MS legs
>>
Fuck it, got Izumo and that hikki megami since they're on sale.
>>
>>11777798
I managed to convince myself that I don't need anything, but I'd probably cave if they had Cheeseburger's qipao. I would've grabbed an extra blue Asra, but I'm hoping that their new bodies become the bases for future aftermarket parts.

Both normal and rufus are on sale.

Those would be Hamburger and Bacon Burger, I want the blonde one.

Not intentionally! It's kind of weird that they haven't released her, actually.
