Are there any cool original new toylines these days, not based on any other IP? Like original things like GI Joe and He-Man but from the last 20 years.
>>
It's mostly down to just these four
>Goojitzu
>Armorsaurs
>Ninjombies
>Mr Beast Beast Labs
>>
>>11762936
This is a weird question. Like a chicken or the egg thing. If an entertainment company or toy company created a tv show or movie just to sell toys, isn't that basically creating the IP?

It's always been the same ages ago and mostly the same now. Unless there's a tv show or movie or video game, action figures almost never get made since retailers are too afraid to take the risk.

>>11762936
Armorsaurs show was created by the toy company making the toys. Mr Beast has been a well known brand for years before the toys so I think those two kind of qualify as being IP attached.

If you're looking for Street Sharks in particular, I suggest Fury Toys.

Does copycats count as based upon other IP
>>
>>11763019
these are fucking terrible
It's like somebody designed characters and the other guy at the very last minute sad "naaah...just copy paste realistic shark head from google images"
there is no design in this
also those articulation points look super ugly here
>>
>>11762927
Are you talking like little kid lines? Because there's tons, >>11762936 pointed out a few, there's also the Metal Cardbot stuff, and I'm sure there's plenty more if you ever browse any toy section for five minutes.

But I don't really follow kids stuff, more into "collector" oriented stuff, which again, there is tons of. From stuff like Mythic Legions, AWOK, Savage Crucible, and all those other fantasy based lines, all of Boss Fight's stuff, Plunderlings, Valaverse, and Legendari's Meta Travelers are just hitting BBTS and all of this is ignoring all the crazy stuff coming out of Chinese companies.

You really need to be more specific in what you want outside of "cool original new toyline" because there's tons of out there.

Not an original IP(nor an original idea, as well).

I dig em. They're grotesque and realistic in a stop motion-y way, it appeals to a core aesthetic for me. Not even sure what specifically it is.
>>
>>11763284
For collectors, but hopefully not whale-priced
>>
>>11763383
You'll be looking in the sub-100 range then. Lots of interesting things.
>>
>>11763355
>in a stop motion-y way
have you ever considered reading anything besides the back of a cereal box? it would really help you in communicating your thoughts. because as of now you just sound like a complete fucking retard babbling nonsense.

I met this guy at a show last year working on a indie line called Paleolords, kind of a send up of dino riders meets spiral zone with posable minis and swappable parts that you can make little battle scenes out of. It got delayed but I think is due out soon, hits a lot of the right boxes for me and is outside the norm of stuff I usually see.
>>
>>11764169
Good on you for bringing up an indie line. Seems like we rarely discuss them on the board. Unfortunately most of the examples I can think of are about a decade old now. Predanauts, Warriors of Monkaa, Bognar, etc.
>>

I'm actually totally blind, so you've been real sensitive.

I'd say so but then we'd be posting nothing but Goojitzu clones
>>11764234
I'm surprised that line's lasted this long. Good for them.

>>11764169
That’s actually really cool. Looks like he has a campaign starting soon.

I want to like these more than I do. My favorite is the mosasaur but even that makes no sense, it's like ok he's a diver since he's a mosasaur, but why does he need scuba gear because it's a water creature?
>>
>>11765463
Uh...to breath since mosasaurs IRL lacked gills?
>>
>>11765503
Oh does he need goggles to see underwater as well smart guy?

Are you fucking retarded? I said why does he need scuba gear. Guess what's part of the scuba gear on him? The full face mask with goggles. Shove the goal post up your ass you dumb shit.
>>
>>11762927
there's a lot of original lines if you go to the world of model kits
Kotobukiya has original robot kits with Hexa Gear and Frame Arms, and Frame Arms got a waifu spin off with Frame Arms Girl and then Kotobukiya made even more waifu lines
Bandai also has original designs with 30 Minutes Missions, 30 Minutes Sisters, and 30 Minutes Fantasy

At the check out at WalMart they had these little five dollar figures called "Axe-alotls" about little barbarian axolotls with weapons. Clever idea.
>>
>>11770271
>Axe-alotls
clever idea but i just looked them up and it's cutesy statue shit sub funko pop tier bullshit. If they were even knockoff 80s he-man tier it would be badass but instead it's shit.
>>
Idk if it's been mentioned but armorsaurs are pretty neat, for $10 you get a solid 4 inch figure and a sprue of bits you can use to armor up the figure. Knee, hip, elbow, shoulder and head articulation, basic stuff but it's decent quality. There are dino like vehicles and armored dinosaurs but I haven't bought either of those yet. It's basically a power rangers style show from what I've read but idc too much about that, I just like the figures and the armor up gimmick is a novel idea.
Sorry for no image, I couldn't find one that I thought was decent or I kept finding stills from the show.
I've read really positive stuff about wwe knuckle busters but I never got one and now they've got motu themed versions of them I think.

Bumping cuz I found another one, Legends of Dragonore. Seems He-Man inspired with some other things mixed in, I like the Jack Kirby looking dude in the middle.

>Not an original IP(nor an original idea, as well).
Yep.
It's all cheap knock tier junk, about as original as the skibidi crap that it also peg warms with, even at clearance stores where you find shelves bursting with this junk.

These kind of things should have comics to go with them, like it or not lore and story is very important to get people invested in new toys, that's why they all had cartoons in the old days. Basically while they're planning the toys they should be planning the multimedia aspect too.
>>
>>11781516
Cartoons used to go a long way for brand awareness

Even when they weren't making Transformers or He-Man toys, the cartoons getting re-runs anyway meant that new kids were introduced to them
