I donated all the actual 6" SpinMaster I also bought for cheap (I think $3 at Macy's was the cheapest I found) to make their BAF of the Robot, but I am keeping the armoured Lex and the CorenSupes from the lab pack (also bought on deep clearance).

I'm not here to defend SpinMaster. They are toys, they aren't what most of us here want or are interested in, but at least make your point with accurate, up-to-date facts.

THOSE haven't even been in outlet stores like Below 5, much less Ross for over a year, probably a lot longer. If you CANNOT order them from Target or Walmart (and third party sellers aren't Walmart, friend), and you also CANNOT get them fulfilled by Crapazom, you might as well be bitching about classic DC Icons/DC Collectibles and DC Direct from Warner Consumer Products the stopped retailing in 2018/2019.
Or be bitching about six plus years and older DC Universe Infinite from Mattel.

>>11764738
Ross has the 10", 12" and 4" on the regular since Black Friday.

The only actual 6" DC you might have seen at Ross that hadn't been there since the summer or before (unlikely since they clearance any and all old stock of any kind for $0.49 in January) are the Superman movie figures, and the Ninja Strike figures.

You can find Todd's Slop at Ross today, including his Fall Out, Mortal Kombat, Movie Maniacs and especially a lot of his Avatar.

I love the movie, hearing the Williams scores in a summer concert done live by a full-on orchestra was a neat treat a few summers back, especially while picnicking and drinking with actual fans instead of the nutjobs that infest this general.
But even I'm quite tired with the nostalgia goggles for Christopher.

If Mattel does a decent Clark Kent with a better likeness than they did for Henry or Brandon, I would pick them up but I don't expect it since even their two Barbie Lois for those movies were fugly crap.

But another lanky tall '78 Superman bit of overpriced plastic crack - thanks but no thanks.

None of the Walmarts in my area, or the two nearby counties, bothered to do any end-caps for the 2025 release of Superman. That said, I was in the largest Walmart in the next door county to me, which is in the wealthy parts of that valley, and in a huge shopping complex that it also shares with a Burlington, a Ross, a Target, a Best Buy, a Michaels and loads more retailers, and that particular Walmart didn't have an end-cap for the current Mario movies, which if you go into any Target near me, it feels like Super Mario vomited all over the toy section. Even the fucking LEGO sections at my Targets were overstuffed with Mario shit.

I'd suggest only buying from Walmart and avoid any 3rd party sellers or marketplace sellers since Walmart may not allow you to easily return something from a seller on their site. I've never had an issue but I did get some grief returning a bootleg DC universe figure that was described as a multiverse figure. They accepted my return in store once I explained the deal and how I'd left negative feedback on the site as the seller just lied about the item.
Good luck if you are pre ordering from walmart.

It is very telling that McFarlane is basically now shadow dropping figures without even announcing they exist. This seems to me to be the next step to make money off scalpers because they will see a figure for the first time in store when scoping out figures to scalp and due to that lack of preparation, they will have little time to research and figure out whether that character will be in demand or not besides a cursory search on their phone perhaps.

Nice, good for you, man. Kinda wish McFarlane had done way more on the Lantern front instead of only releasing a handful of major Lantern colour characters. Not a huge fan of Lanterns but feeling like Lantern fans got snubbed. I'm also still pissed that the best Rayner I wanted was in that expensive 2 pack with Kilowog and all other ones had a shitty tone of green. At least the shiny Hal looks like something special in the collection despite having shitty accessories
I'm waiting for Shazam and Martian Manhunter to drop over here in Europe and then I'm done

>>11766704
As someone who defended the line at the very beginning, McFarlane has done more than enough to signal that they're a scummy company. Unfortunately, DC collectors really don't have an alternative ML-tier line which they can resort to

Not sure where you live but bananas predate the great war, they've changed due to a virus that killed off the bananas your great great great grandparents would have eaten to what we have today (which is, supposedly, bland and tasteless by comparison?), but they have existed for hundred of years.

You grew up in the desert, with nuns that didn't believe in fresh fruit but still forced you kids to play dodge ball or something?

Also, wear rubbers when you play with your greasy mcfarts, you don't want todd's cooties.
>>
>>11766809
They're on leak lists but mcfarlane seems to have totally dropped the ball on announcing the figures. Probably they feel it's like their platinum crap where it's FUN to walk into a store and find some figure you don't know about, which should be impossible in the era of the internet. Though in reality it just means you'll never get the figure because scalpers will buy them all as soon as they get put out or even some of the employees of the store are scalpers and given their low wages this is the only way they can survive due to the nightmare of a world we live in.

I use a few different vehicles, I stop by a McDonald's and when I leave I get in my other car and then when I'm in town I stop at one of the TWO bars (there's less than 1,000 people here) and after a few stags I jump in my final vehicle then I park it at a neighbor's house before I finally begin my journey through a creek, which is a bitch to walk after a few days rain and it gets swollen, before I climb through the bedroom window. And then, with only a candle for light, I can finally enjoy a new Batman variant figure I'll most likely not even open
Safety first.

Well of course there is no report of the trailer, Todd is a cover for an international human trafficking ring and after Epstein got busted those guys got really sensitive about their line of work. Who do you think designs and produces the actual figures? McFarlane toys uses a rotating force of enslaved immigrants to create his figures, not only the labor needed for the manufacturing and packaging but the creative aspects too. You guys think it's because Warner Bros or even Todd himself wants to have every version of Batman ever drawn but it's honestly because whatever the guy assigned to come up with a wave of figures ALWAYS wants to do Batman. Every fresh batch of labor, Todd swaps his group of labor out after every wave if not sooner, wants to do a Batman figure so you get 2 Batman a wave if not 3. Anyway, the thing about the missing trailer being missing is that those trailers were where all the these hapless souls lived. Those trailers were their homes, and their work place since Todd was cheap and had twenty people living and working away at producing McFarlane toys while the truck was still on the road delivering what ever figures the slaves had managed to finish between stops.
Could you imagine the bomb that would go off if that trailer were to be found now?

honestly anon comic book writers do not give a single fuck about toys, they want to tell a story, get a show made, and live off the prestige of making something many would love. comic books have been around for what 100 years and now theres highly detailed toys getting made of all of this stuff? what was holding them back before hand? gi joe had no problem selling toys the same time a cartoon existed and a comic book, it just goes to show theres no snygery between brands and all normies do is collect funko pops or lego

>It's really strange how they pick a one or a few characters of a team, make them and will ignore the rest. It feels callous of these figure manufacturers.
I don't think it's strange at all, because as a long time comic book fan with a huge toy collection, i don't collect teams or stories.
I pick my favorites and sometimes whoever looks cool. IT doesn't matter to me if i never get Cyclop's wife or complete Cobra's upper echelon, because I'm not wasting money on a shitty design or someone i don't like. I'm never going to buy an Elongated Man regardless of how many Justice League reincarnations he'sbeen on or because he was a central character in Infinite Crisis

Toy companies realized that kids and collectors do this, hence ignoring important characters, cripples, females, and other "important" characters.
I mean, Japanese toy makers ignored villains for decades because collectors and kids in Japan didn't buy them. They only started making more bad guys cause the western market started to buy more Japanese products.

Also, i'm a fan of Legion Lost too and have a bunch of Legionnaire comics and I'm probably never going to own any figures. I'm not a big fan of their designs.

>5 gokus for every bad guy is good ratio
Yeah, in Japan.
Whereas in the US, it was at least 1:3 or if not lopsided in villains favor. I mean, look at these random mooks we used to get from Toy Biz. And the good guys are outnumbered 2 to 5.

Toy companies like Hasbro needed to be told by Marvel that their toys needed to fight someone, hence GI Joe becoming infamous for the creation of Cobra in the 80s toyline. Thereafter, everyone started going villain heavy, because they learned that that's what kids like.... at least in America.
From what I read, kids in Japan are moralfaggots, hence villains not being popular. Again, this is why villains only started getting made in Japanese lines after they started getting popular in the west.

Also, companies Kenner and Mattel are kinda fuck ups and got a lot of hate, because they didn't get the message for a long time.

On the one hand, some of those look legit like the Blue and Red Superman pack but those are so many figures... how are they supposed to release all of them until the third quarter of this year?

A proper green coloured Kyle Rayner would definitely get me to buy him. Same with Hawkgirl with more interesting paint apps than before. Solar Superman single figure only if they do the silver parts right this time around (which they definitely won't do)

Stuff like Teen Titans Classic Tales and the Lanterns sounds completely fake though since this would be exactly what fans want. Same with the "Regular Figures". Covering way too many bases, especially with duplicates such as Hawkgirl and Wonder Woman

But I'd still like to be in the wrong

And although I sold off a few so it's worth less, I'm glad I picked up the SDCC Clubhouse. I suspect that if Mattel has the license long enough, they will do something similar.

And I see no reason Mattel won't have the license long enough, this go round, other than Ellison doing something truly stupid - and he'll have some $70B+ in debt to worry about that he won't have a lot of time to care about things like toys.

also: are those Ross releases shitty cost-cutting stuff like Dollar General GI Joes, or are they the exact same figure? I wouldn’t mind a 2nd Fleischer Superman if it was the very same figure for cheap, with the same cape and everything

Blokees are really nice. And cheap, which is unheard of for the quality of figure they are once assembled in this day and age. And they really nailed the Corenswet likeness when only Todd did besides them. You should get the Wolverine and try one out, he’s everywhere at Walmarts now which is also pretty crazy.

I call it the revoltech-ing of some import designs, but no, it's not all of it. The Minion's and Sesame Street stuff, or their weeb girls and anime stuff look just like the stuff that comes from say Jazz Pacific or Super7 for the former and from Bandai say or the later.

Now the Defendars are essentially Hot Wheel competition, not Marvel Legends or McFarlane/Mattel competition, but even the next class of figures, similar to the blind box Transformers most people know, are going to be more neutral in looks and appearance but these also sell for between $6-8, in fact at one point, you could get those Transformer's boxes for $1.50 in during a sale and they dropped down to sub $5 at Target.

But you can't say these Hero Class kits like PICREL are competition for say the Disney Junior Spidey and Friends or Mattel ImagineNext because they articulate more.

And you can do a lot more with them, because they are all built on the same structure. So you could, for example, put Superman's head on the Cyborg body, or Cyborg's canon arm on Batman - stuff you can't do with an ImagineNext, SpinMaster, or Mattel figure in this size or price point.

Not really. When I had half the amount I had them do the JLI cover pose and it only took up the top 2 bookshelves on my DC trades shelf, one for the heroes and one for the villains. Most of my stuff is all over the house and the only place I'm barred from displaying toys is in the kitchen. My wife doesn't believe in Justice League: Chef Force.

It is noticeable here >>11768454 but I thought it was understood and agreed that fucking Todd didn't stick to 7" inches either, with some of his figures being taller than some of his other figures, particularly with his older figures.

Chess is kinda eternal man, you can play against so many skill levels that the game is never dead or beaten. Anyway, I was trying to suggest that you are thinking in a big picture way. That you were planning further down the road than many of us do. Im not sure how boomers and zoomers speak, and as far as vinyl goes it really doesn't matter since most people record digitally and master digitally. The warmth comes from the analog mixing and recording but I'm not an audiophile so I'm talking out of my behind on the subject of vinyl. It used to be a cheap way to get your music out but kids had to come and spoil the party. It used to be cheap and now it's chic.
Boy I remember the days of 180 gram vinyl being $30 and that was a huge price but you knew you were getting a quality album, now it's $25 for a BTS 45.
Sheesh

Just tested McFarlane 89 Batman, not articulate enough and he doesn't have holding things hands for some stupid reason considering he came with the Batmobile.
SHF 89 Batman fit quite well but of course he has that neck issue. I want to resolve that somehow, maybe print a whole new head, neck, cowl for him?
I also tried the bike with Revoltech Arkham Knight and it works like a charm. Fits his aesthetic, might just give it to him permanently. Could repaint a couple of the parts with a metallic red or blue, it'll look awesome.

Currently between Bale Batmen, I'm planning on getting the deluxe InArt next payday. There's enough aesthetic differences between this kit and the prop that I'm willing to get a "real" one when I have a Batman and Catwoman for it.

>1/9 the size
I grasp that concept. It's actually not complicated, although for say someone in Asia, 1/9th the size of a human body might not be the same thing for someone in Estonia, Denmark or the Netherlands.

I mean that saying something is a 1/6 or 1/12 does translate to metric or inches. So a 1/9th scale figure should be quantifiable, e.g. translate, to a measurement in metric or inches.

Additionally, my point about CT, albeit brief, was that those are smaller than the company figures they are knocking off, just like Blokees are smaller, than the scale imputed to those figures/kits.

That would still be a lot of BAF waves, most of which included a bat or batfam related member in some fashion, and most of which had nothing to do with the JSA.

>A neck peg extension?
They went film accurate for the mold so his entire cowl is one solid immobile piece. It plugs in at his chest but the whole thing rests on this fat bar peg that actually is connected to a fully functional neck joint. I think maybe they were planning ahead for an unmasked head sculpt that never happened.

Plan: print out a cowl that locks his cape and chest together but leaves the neck joint alone, a neck joint, and a head with some swappable face plugs. Now, a pendant might say that I'm spending too much time and money fixing flaws on a toy when I could have just bought a better figure to start with. Well, tell that to my autism, I can't help it.
>>
>>11769808
>although for say someone in Asia, 1/9th the size of a human body might not be the same thing for someone in Estonia, Denmark or the Netherlands.
Well the issue is, the character themselves is what is being represented, and that character is not a standard person in Estonia or Denmark, etc. It's a character that has a canon height, at least as long as it isn't some weird D lister. If its a movie likeness, that actor has a known height. So they are supposed to go with 1/9th of that.
>>
>>11770098
I do have to say it does looks good as one solid piece, in the film accuracy sense.

It beats stupidity Todd does like paint the Superman neck the color of that suit top from Superman Authority, so when you do the necessary head swap to fix it, you would also need to repaint.

And not just to flesh tone match. But to fix actual McFarlane mistakes.
>>
>>11770149
i get the feeling mcfarlane toys is peopled by artist types making low wages, who know they're not being paid a lot, and without a lot of knowledge in toy engineering and designing. So they're looking at it not from a design or engineering perspective, which leads to a lot of mistakes there, and the inability to do things like pinless, but just tend to want to make big monsters and crazy looking stuff that doesn't adhere to style guides or past looks.
>>
>>11770154

>>11770154
Well, it's employees are residents of Arizona and Nevada, so it's not like either state is known as a hotbed of creative types. They aren't even in the fun parts of the state. Tucson at least has great Mexican food and fun places to camp and hike. Where Todd has his warehouse is just hot fucking dry desert that will be one of the first places to run out of water.

Ditto his shit hole offices in Nevada.
>>
>>11770224
At least one of his staff during one of the livestreams, it said anyway, was in LA. So they may be spread out and some may be remote working. Either that or he happened to be traveling, maybe trying to secure the ports and make sure the shipments get through.
>>
>>11770224
Tuscon blows though.
>>
>>11770294
Well Todd and co need some security for their shipments. Idk if they should chain, I mean use a human to guard each pallet or if they should just hire failed ICE applicants to ride shot gun. Arizona is a hot bed for stage coach and train robberies, there were hundreds of robberies and most of those cases went unsolved.
https://youtu.be/eZBYilNcotw?si=pfB6g7SaOO2f59qk
>>
>>11770349
They still have 'cowboys' in Arizona but they haven't had stage coaches in ages, silly anon.
Also freight trains can easily be broken into when they stop for the mandated engineer or other employee breaks, switch-overs, or when they stop for the frequent broken tracks. You wouldn't really need to rob a freight train when you can just walk up, step in and take what you want.
However, there's not a lot of train shipping going to and from Arizona, it's almost all semi-trucks, son.

Mattel made a DickBats? Is it decent?
The only thing I feel I want is a good DickBats and possibly the Speeding Bullet figure but it's way overpriced in the secondary market for what it fucking is.

As is Todd's Grayson version of Batman. I don't really see anything different between it and the Rebirth Batman I've been trying to dump for a few years now.

>>
>>11770401
>Is it decent

>>
>>11770401
Mattel has not made a decent DC figure yet, but they probably will after they get the license back. The problem is the figures will be too expensive by then (at least 27 given what we see on He-Man, probably 30+ given DC licensing costs). Todd's figures got in at the sweet spot period which was a scant few years before the economy collapsed when they could still sell halfway decent domestics for 20-23 in large enough quantities that could go on sale and maybe hit their true value of 15 bucks or so.
>>

They had a train depot or something similar in memphis but I didn't understand the type of upkeep the cars took up until recently. I live in another former train area and it's kinda wild just how important freight is in a world where you get everything tomorrow or sooner.
I think Memphis would be a city that needs some cowboys, these are folks handling your fed ex packages by the way.
https://wreg.com/news/local/boxcar-full-of-nike-gear-burglarized-in-north-memphis-two-charged/
>>
>>11770495
During the pandemic, the news showed a fair number of freight trains being broken into in any port areas, largely because stuff wasn't being moved. Anyplace that's a major hub was/is probably like this.

We still have federal marshals on horseback, Forrest rangers, and plenty of peace officer forces in cities from Beverly Hills to New York, that have officers on horseback.

We don't need actual cowboys.
