The new parts for their faces and arms caught my attention, I wonder if we’ll see them appear in play-scale Pokémon sets, since it feels unusual for them to debut here as a one-off. Also, when should we expect pictures for the summer Pokémon sets? This month?

I think a quicker and easier solution would be to just hashban his ass to hell like a few of the aussies and and other stuff like it was exposed in the site bust last year, vs giving the one tard a playground of his own, something that could be fixed if the only janny here weren’t a /v/ fag

You are the megalomaniac, you think you are some hero but you are tilting at windmills, you shit up threads when people are discussing actual lego news, you never talk about lego yourself, you just seethe and cope. Most people would move, but you just want to have your tantrum and shit and piss everywhere. Then atop all that, you show how deranged you are by posting graphic violent threats about your perceived boogeyman and get banned by the mods for breaking the law.
>>
>>11775514
And you continue to flood this shithole with even worse shit, I am sick of the /lg/ spam, I am sick of the leak spam, I just want it back before the corporate homosexuality molested this thread chain and maybe you will be put on the chopping block for enabling it by white knighting for the utter putrid state this shit is in, Go back to cruising rodent
>>
Good morning!
>>
>>11775516
>>
I don't frequent general boards so I'm not an expert, but why does it seem like /lg/ is uniquely able to break the rules by flooding the catalogue with a dozen threads not at post limit? I haven't experienced this behavior being tolerated by the jannies on any other board or with any other general.
>>
>>11775515
You are not a janitor. You have no say over what gets posted. Leave or quit crying. The actual ego on display by you to think that a thread should only cater to your whims. Lego decided to reach out to other fans so of course they are going to come here to talk about the product, its a lego general. You don't even post mocs, you do nothing but post angry retarded drivel that nobody wants to read. You are worse than the shill, you are worse than even reddit. You are, and may allah forgive me for uttering these words, as bad as a sharteen.
>>
>>11775519
Because there’s no moderation to this board, and because the mental looney >>11775520 is so frothy at anybody criticising the leakshit spam that he goes ballistic
>>
>>11775522
You don't criticize, you froth at the mouth and spam "die rodent" "kill yourself pedo" and "bleed" you literally leepost, don't accuse others of going ballistic when you have been having a daily meltdown for over a year now
>>
>>11775519
You also see this on jp with some threads, not with thread spam, just with general spam and porn posting that goes without punishment for literally weeks, and the offenders still are never handed a permanent
Some jannies are just that incompetent and fail at webmaster basics
The thread spam is definitely unique to here though
>>
>>11775523
You have flooded the catalog enough, go back
>>
>>11775525
Point proven. Concession accepted.
>>
>>11775522
>>11775524
Now that I think about it, I have seen people like subby break the rules on /toy/ quite a few times and only rarely be moderated, but this is just extreme even beyond what he would do. You have to wonder at some point if one of the people involved is in janny/mod position and is allowing it to happen or even doing it themselves.

Good news! Smart Play is still selling abysmally on Amazon. (With exception of Vader’s TIE)

Despite all the May 4th promotion, since my last report the only sale number which has bumped up is the Falcon to 200+.

They are also now all already on discounts ranging from £5-10.

And since Amazon is the largest online retailer and the most widely known one with the discounts… I don’t imagine that things are doing so well on Lego.com at full price. And all but Vader’s TIE are getting outpaced by the 4 year old AT TE (actually good set before clone slop started) which has 300+ sales.

Really should have just released the 3 Smart Brick sets to see whether there was actually a market. Instead of comprising the entire year.

At this rate i’m not even sure if they’ll make back the extraordinary marketing budget.

>>
>>11775737
Yes - pretty much equal in terms of speed, though sonic usually needs to win for brand guideline reasons
Shadow's shoes are essentially hoverskates, they have jets which turn on while running so his run animation looks like skating
>>
>>11775742
Whycome he gots hoverskates if he so fast? I always thought that meant he needed mechanical assistance to keep up with Sanic

>Animal Crossing CMF
-there are 500+ Animal Crossing characters
-Lego has already done about 25 of them
-CMF has 12 figures
-12/(500-25) = 2.5% they will make any character you wanted anyway.

Fortnite and Pokemon have it even worse, those have thousands of characters. even Star Wars fans can be like "where the heck is Sy Snootles and Droopy McCool you bastards did Max Rebo WTF"

it's maddening how stingy Lego is with Minifigs only a couple per set, when Lego could be pumping out SW background characters and filling out the other series... argh

>>
>>11775744
People will debate the lore of it - the air shoes are mechanical assistance to keep up with sonic, but powered by his own natural energy as the ultimate lifeform, something like that. I don't think they've been consistent regarding whether the shoes are the only reason he can go that fast.

The real-world answer is probably just because the creators thought it looked cool

this is going to be how much? $200?
250x$200 = $50,000

does it really only take $50,000 to produce a Lego set? (or less??)
engineering/design/instructions/package/brick making/factory sorting... plus enough to have profit out of it?

another example of Lego pulling back the curtain and revealing things by accident?

another example of Lego "trying something" to see if it works. good for them, kind of? (at least it's not 250 of a Star Wars thing lol)

1) do movie events still exist or are we all so thoroughly segmented and micro-marketed that there are no more truly shared cultural touchpoints?

Not even getting into the topic of the ST but every potential spinoff from the Mandalorian has been cratered with the actors and actresses pretty much being told to fuck off permanently.
>Gina makes one right leaning remark
>character written out of the series, her spinoff series with the fat asian pilot gets canned
>Boba Fett gets a good response with his return and gets a show
>Disney wants the character completely rewritten because he's a morally Grey hired gun
>Disney butchered it even moreso in post production
>show gets negative reaction from Disney's changes
>Morrison gets the blame and now no more Boba Feet
>also decide to axe Fennic Shand because the actress agreed with Morrison in butchering the show and characters
>same shit with Katie Sackoff as Bo-Katan in season 3

What, you didn't hear that they're releasing a new cut of Endgame where they are filming new scenes so that it will tie in to Doomsday? If you didn't set anything up for future movies, fuck it, just go back and re-edit old movies to retroactively add in setups so you don't have to actually plan things out anymore.

>>11775978
Disney does not give two fucks about Star Wars, or Marvel for that matter. Outside of Mando, not a single show from either has been anything approaching "good." And they hung the success of Mando entirely on Baby Yeed. Which they promptly ran into the ground.

This is my favorite lego line right now.

Pretty much tried to cram the entire rebuilding Mandalore plot into 1 season with Bo as the main character with Mando as her sidekick.
>could have easily been a Boba season 2 or Bo-Katan miniseries
>no Boba because Book of Feet disappointed the Mouse
>crams and rushes certain things but then others like Jack Black and the fat black Chick just got to linger entirely to long
>shows a Mythosaur then proceeds to do nothing with it
Disneys response was pretty much "we hear the fans loud and clear, no more Bo Katan, no more Mandalorian culture world building"
Now you're looking at a Mando and Gogruovie where Disney has written off over half the supporting cast and most of the characters left are either dead irl (Karl) or written into an entire different galaxy (Ashoka)

Speaking of the new CMFs, I finally found some. Two walmarts showed they had them in stock, so I went this morning. First one had what looked like one of those end hanger boxes that had been absolutely ravaged, torn off, and thrown on a shelf in the middle of the Lego aisle. Still had what looked to be about 40 or so boxes, so I figured there would at least still be a good variety, so I scanned them, but nah, almost all of them were the stupid FUTBOL guy. Amongst him, I found two of the Boba girl, the tuba guy, and the wetsuit girl, so I picked them both up.

Then I went to the second Walmart, and they actually had a nice, tidy display that looked barely touched. Scanned al of them, and the only had 6 of the 12 left; All the same ones as the first Walmart, plus a few of the Tahu guy and the confectionery girl.

I was surprised they had any of Tahu, especially since they had 3 or 4 of him.

I ordered another 6 of Target's website, since they have them online, but none of them I've been to have them in-store yet. Hopefully I don't get 6 FUTBOL guys.

Most of the off-brands are doing actual castle and pirate sets, which Lego refuses to do. If all you care about is licensed sets, sure, but if you care about OG themes, nearly every off-brand is doing way better stuff.

This ship, for example, is twice as many pieces as Lego's current Black Pearl, at half the cost, and dimensionally, the ship is way bigger too. Lumibricks and Reobrix are doing tons of castle stuff along the lines of Lego's blacksmith shop at like, 1/3-1/2 the price.

>How did they (MEGA BLOKS) fuck it up so bad?
there's just some kind of unknown force that compels people to be "good"

we all "know" the other companies are ripping off the bricks. they all click together. yeah. that's Lego. with the bricks. it's different than screws and screwdrivers. we know that. it's not fair Mega Bloks can copy Lego, and get away with it. it's just... wrong. if Burger King sold an identical Big Mac, society would riot. so Burger King has to make a mostly-different version. how does Mega Bloks get to make a 1x2 brick exactly like Lego's?

what Mega Bloks did with Pokemon was amazing. didn't matter. Halo? great, but also... nope. people resist supporting that, no matter how great the sets are.

also doesn't help that the Mega Bloks models are flimsy and fragile. they fall apart when you pick them up. they might have just needed better engineers lol

Dude, you know LEGO copied another toy company’s bricks, right? They just made some small adjustments, but even the judge said LEGO is a copycat that revolutionized things. That’s why other companies can copy the bricks. The only thing they can’t copy is the minifigure (and, lately, the minidoll), so I don’t understand why LEGO focuses so much on other stuff that other companies can do with bricks instead of minifigures.

I have a theory: LEGO does so many different things because they want to compete with the “bootleg” brands. That’s why they take on so many licenses, even one-offs under LEGO Icons—so the competition doesn’t get them. The only things competitors can’t really do are mature, adult-oriented themes like Gears of War, God of War, Fallout, etc.

Lego design team always makes the final decision, the license holder can recommend stuff but lego makes the final call, for example, Lucasfilm told Lego to make pic related into a set but design team chose Krennic's shuttle instead because they thought it would make a better playset even though Krennic's shuttle barely is in the movie and the transport ship had a pretty big role in the film. Lego probably wanted to use the stud shooters in the set because it looked better.

>Why are they like this?
(some of this is sarcastic, so you know)

Lego has data that says prints vs stickers do not effect the sales numbers enough to bother with them

stickers slow down the building process and give the illusion of more-value since it takes longer to complete the model

Hank Hill says dang it, you don't HAVE to mow the lawn, you GET TO mow the lawn. it's not a chore, it's a privilege. you should be thanking Lego for the stickers!

stickers enhance your satisfaction, that you are skillz-enough to have nailed the placement. check out that edge! dang you're good. (your results may vary lol)

you can CHOOSE to NOT put the stickers on, leaving you with muh-soul or muh-classic-plain results, instead. if they were prints, that would not be an option

um... Lego is trolling you? enjoy your stickers, fool! mwa-ha-ha!

I had one of their military sets in the early 2000s. It was huge. I was thrilled with it until I broke all the figures. Just through regular play. All in under 2 days. Then I entered a Lego building competition, not realizing what was alt brand and what was legit. And the judges disqualified me for using mega blox. I went from not caring about brands at all, to really hating alt brands. I purged my Lego collection of all impurities.

Today there really isn’t any reason for me to be anti alt brand. In fact I encourage other people to buy high quality competitors if they want them. But MY collection will remain brand slave. Probably because of mental illness

I think the truth of the matter is that Mega eventually stopped doing original themes (like Lego) but they didn't have the IPs to carry themselves. They were pretty much being entirely carried by Halo and CoD. I think the only other IPs they had that I can remember off the top of my head were; Destiny (another Sci-Fi FPS), Star Trek, Pokemon, TMNT, MOTU, Terminator....and....uh, that's all I can remember. They probably had a few more, but many of them only got like a wave or two, and them they dropped them. They seemed like they were specifically focusing on an older crowd, considering those particular IPs. Especially since their minifigure series they even had figures they never made actual sets for, like Alien/Predator.

Well there are usually two types of depth shelves and one is for movies/CD and there's ones with more space which are for books/decorations aka Lego. Get a ruler and check how much space you will need to fit a set in a book shelf. Then you have to choose if you want (usually) 3 layers or 6 layers. There are also 4 and 8 shelves. White = will be easy to see in the dark. Black = might look classy with some warm LED light strips inside the shelf.

Jurassic Park keeps making movies so they can "own" the concept of Dinosaurs. other people can make dinosaur merch, sure, but everyone thinks about JP when they see it

I'm not mad, it's actually a cool IP for Dinosaurs in general. in the story they created them for now-times (so no time travel or whatever) and any difference between how they look and muh-real-science-but-feathers nonsense is also explain-able with how the DNA-tech "made" the dinosaurs. it's quite brilliant, really

>>
>>11777364
I don't even think bringing things back necessarily has to be a bad idea, its just that the people involved don't really give a shit, so "New version of old thing" is designed-by-committee, rather than someone who has an actual vision and love for the property and wants to bring something new to it.

That said, it is also clear that people have almost no faith in new IPs anymore. Honestly, what was the last new, big franchise that became huge and people loved, and not some revival from something from 30-40 years ago?
>>
>>11777370

JP isn't what I'd call a beloved trilogy. Opinions on Lost World and 3 go from bad to just okay, not many go into the actually "good" category.
>>
>>11777472
I actually liked Lost World, but it is definitely a big step down from JP. At least the plot of there being a second island is feasible from a story standpoint, and out of all the sequels, it was probably the one with the least amount of stupid moments. But if I gave JP a 10/10, I'd probably give Lost World a 7/10.

I'd actually put Jurassic World above JP3. Everything about 3 was pretty bad, other than the Spino being pretty cool. There was plenty of stupid in Jurassic World, but the idea of getting the park successfully up and running and the problems only happening later is an interesting idea. Still a lot of stupid in that movie, though. I'd probably give it like a 5.5 or 6/10 and JP3 a 5/10.

The second and third Jurassic World movies were just unbelievable bad, with so many stupid plot points, and the two movies are so bland that they actually bleed together for me.

I didn't even bother seeing the newest movie.

Very very cool honestly wouldn't change it but if you care for it; the rampart on thr center platform could be high to cover more of the soldiers bodies. Vitiligo representation has been strictly negative for my perception of the condition or whatever it is. >>
>>11777507
they added that in the free update last January

Animal Crossing is already a lot like Lego, it would probably be easy to switch the character models to Lego minifigure versions. they did it with Fortnite and that has 10x the characters

remember for a hot few years it seemed like TTGames had a lock on that style of Lego Game and could have done almost anything and made it awesome Lego? like now Lego has Star Trek and they could totally make that version of the game and put in all the hundreds of Trek characters Lego ain't going to put in real sets

Since it's May 4th, aka Star Wars Day, I thought I'd post my ideas on how to fix the Star Wars theme:

>cancel mechs and microfighters
>relaunch the midi scale ship collection but with a twist, have a minifig included, Lego has no excuse to not include a desirable minifig at the prices they ask for midi scale ships, these minifigs would be very detailed
>the busts are a good idea so continue that, good they have minifigs
>no more helmet collection, busts replace it
>make more kid friendly sets and more simple and at affordable prices
>make good 4 plus sets
>make a glup shito cmf so you can have aliens
>more location based sets at different price points
>make a mini modular system like Marvel has for Mos Eisley cantinas

I really like the microfighter line, the “super-deformed” ships are fun, and it’s sometimes a good opportunity to get a solid figure for cheap. Mechs I don’t quite get, but if they weren’t slavishly built around the standardized cockpit and bent leg pieces, I think they could be fun.
>relaunch midi

I did away with it as it looks tacky if I can't cover the whole scene, and I don't have enough bricks :( Anyway, here's another update, I cleaned up the effects a bit and worked on the positions of the ships, leaving room for the container transports which are still coming in the mail. The idea is the rebels have trapped the imperials in a cylindrical nebula from one side, and the imperials intend to break through with the valuable cargo at all costs, trying to surprise the rebels with a full frontal assault in a spearhead. The rebels respond by brawling the lancer with their flagship, breaking off the rest of the capital ships to flank them. The y-wing squadron is trying to break through the rain of fire from the lancer frigate, to get into a position bombing the Light Cruiser where they'll be safe from the lancer, as it would be firing on its comrades if it tried to destroy the rest. I think it makes sense tactically now for both sides.

It's making me seriously consider buying a bunch of black plates from PAB or bricklink. But I might make too much of a problem for myself as I'd like this battle to span across 4 shelves some day, all with 1:1455 scale vessels. Much bigger ones tan I already have on display, such as dreadnought. I'm not about to make backgrounds for 4 shelves as sick as that'd be.

Major retailers like Target, Walmart and Amazon consistently have sales like every other week, but they tend to be like 10-20% off, and relegated to small to mid size sets. Large sets almost never get good discounts.

Don't know where you've been though, because the last 2-3 days most retailers have had tons of sales, lightning deals, discounts, freebees, and other promotions for May the 4th. Many sets, even the SW sets that came out in March were 25-30% off most places. The gunship you posted, the STAP, and the Ghost were on lightning deals on Amazon. Basically the best sales those sets have ever had. And the Gunship and Ghost retired last year, and have been out of stock almost everywhere for 6 months or so.

Walmart had a bunch of good deals, including the UCS Falcon for like $200 off. Lego stores and website had a smattering of deals, but probably the least amongst all retailers. Their promotions came in the form of 2x-4x insider points and free GWPs.

>>11777527
That guard should be hanged for desertion of duty.
>>11777535
I second the higher ramparts. A coloured sheet (paper probably) would be better imo. You can have green underneath for grass and blue or yellow for sky. Cut out some green curved pieces to form hills on the backdrop, and it will be like the classic catalogue/box art.
>>
>>11777505

>>
>>11778109
The little $20 ship was probably the best set out of this line. That flagship, however, is probably one of the most boring looking flagships in any space line, ever.

The somewhat updated Futuron torsos are probably the best thing out of this set, but they look the best if you replace the heads and hu-helmets with smilies and old style helmets and give them classic airtanks.

I liked the unified style, something Lego seems to be leaning more into, at least in City. Wasn't a fan of those Futuron styled suits though. The classic one was cool but in City Space I liked the space suits because of the print on the back. It made it look like a jetpack was built right into the suit instead of needing the bulky airtank piece to be the jetpack. Also the idea that I now know was recycled from earlier themes, the crystal harvesting to make power cells, was neat. The 4+ set being the only set to include a workstation where the conversion happened was a bit odd though.

When are we getting the next wave of Pokemon sets again?

>>
>>11778294

>>
>>11778294
August 1st, though leakers said some of the leaked smart play sets won't release in 2026 but 2027 (I guess 3 or 4 of the 10-11 smart play sets), we should get a special day reveal only focused on pokemon legos sometime this month or in june at the latest. Also, apparently minifigs were intended for 2027 but they did the pokeball set as a tease this year for whats coming.

In my opinion this year is them throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks but the smart play sets will also have a limited release only being available in the same 6 announced countries. So it kinda sucks and makes the "big pokemon launch" feel actually very small. Like lego treats one of the biggest IPs on the planet like shit.

just download the app! kidding. you need a modern cell phone camera. use it to look at the small square thing on the bottom of the box. if you did it right (might take some time) a number will pop up. you're looking for the last 2 numbers in the first group of numbers. match it to the list in that other post's picture

or there are apps, that do the same thing but display pictures to make it easier, if you don't mind giving permissions to a stranger to use your phone's camera lol

That was a pretty woman being monkey pawed turning into muscular butch monster by an evil genie, otherwise a female bigfig looks like the average trans "woman". They should have a molded chest and proportions like a female bodybuilder otherwise they look like men.

theres no conspiracy to this particular one, that's just what they do now. Aside from making cash by selling hundreds of tiny plate pieces this was probably due to how we would get low part count sets with large specialized parts back in 2002, and nothing during that era save for Bionicle and Star Wars was profitable at the time

I don't understand why people continue to act like this is going to happen. Nobody gives a shit about the sequels. The sequels singlehandedly killed the Star Wars action figure scene and have nearly killed Lego Star Wars too.
>>
>>11778909
Nobody gives a shit about the sequels, though. Disney offered basically zero merch for TFA's 10th anniversary. They mass-dumped toys and merch for RotS's 20th anniversary, however.

And it sounds like a lot of shit is coming next year for the series as a whole for the 50th Anni.
>>
>>11778910

>>
>>11778910
Up until now they did some really classic figures like Red Beard, the Blue space man, the classic race car driver, etc. Santa and now Vader were probably the odd ones out. I get the point of making the classic ones, but personally I only want the classic space upscaled figure.
>>
>>11778913
>The sequels singlehandedly killed the Star Wars action figure scene and have nearly killed Lego Star Wars too.
Got proof for this sensational claim? Sensational claims need sensational proof. I see no proof the sequels nearly killed the lego star wars theme. Did you know 2015 was lego star wars best selling year ever? Because of TFA. Lego stopped producing sets for other themes to produce more TFA sets... because there was HUGE demand!
>>
>>11778918

>>
>>11778920
And how is Lego Star Wars doing right now? Are they still churning out all those highly in-demand sequels sets?
>>
>>11778922
Here as reminder
>>
>>11778924
They don't release sequel sets because the kids who grew up with them are probably, currently in their dark age, they did the same with prequel era kids, the made PT sets when those were kids and saw them, a while did more OT stuff when those grew up, meanwhile they did TCW sets for another gen of kids, zoomers, then those grew up and another gen of zoomers grew on sequels and now that last gen is in their dark age meanwhile they do nostalgia bait sets for PT and TCW fans. And Mandoverse stuff for gen alpha kids. Its a cyclical. They will do a lot of sequel sets when nostalgia kicks in and we did get Kylo shuttle and BB8 this year so Lego acknowledges the anniversary of TFA, don't remember anything for ROTS from Lego this year though...
>>
>>11778909
disney did an internal report about zoomers and star wars and found that they don't give a shit about the sequels and prefer the older stuff much more
the most watched show in the zoomer age range was tcw
and according to their watch data, the sequels didn't event hit the board for watched star wars content
