With statues you have to have everything done with painting and that can be costly and harder to mass produce. But dolls you can get a lot done with soft goods and save money with shared bodies underneath most of the time. With action figures you have this dilemma of expected pricing even though they require many molds and decent amount of painting, but with these fancy dolls you somehow feel they are worth the high pricing. With the right IPs they make tons of money probably.

Statues are a big commitment and you have to really like the scene they're depicting.
