Is anyone making Futurama figures, or do I need to go bankrupt getting the Toynami ones?
>>11790800irony poisoned crap doesnt deserve anything
Go for the Toynami, the only other toys from Futurama companies make are Fry and Bender.
the mega construx figures they made of Bender and Fry are cute, and lego compatible, but that's all they made for mega.
>>11790800I mean, do you expect anything official like picrel made in current year? Aside from that new Futurama has become needlessly preachy to still possess any broad appeal.
>>11790917Their NFT episode wasn't subtle at all, not even to the point where they name it something else. They should've named it something else
>>11790945All post revival Futurama trying to desperately to be topical is what really made me lose interest in any continuation. Almost everything from the original run is just humorous speculative fiction. Sure, things that were happening in the world at the time of production would occasionally get touched on, but it all felt pretty self contained.
>>11790963That and the jokes and dialogue just aren’t snappy and clever anymore. Example of your point though is the Hulu Covid episode vs Cold Warriors, same premise but one is good speculative fiction with character stuff for Fry and one is just basing the entire episode on real events like they’re still happening in the same way the year 3000.I think they’re trying to appeal to zoomers who might have binged it on Disney by making their references less millenial/gen x relatable whilst forgetting that those zoomers liked the actual show with all those now very well aged references.
Brickcraft is doing new Futurama stuff. I'd prefer traditional figures, but it's something
>>11790800maybe jakks will take a swing
The best availible now are 3D printed Benders
>>11790974Hulurama basically became Zombie Simpsons with its slow pacing, only a handful of jokes per episode instead of non-stop, elderly voice actors, and too many references to already dated Current Year things.
The problem with Hulurama is, during the Golden Age the writers would have the time to polish a script to perfection. The production schedule for Hulurama meant they could only do a first draft and had to animate that. Hopefully, that's changed with the upcoming production season.
>>11792263There’s also the fact that I think the influx of newer writers just aren’t as good, funny or clever. But then Kaplan also partially wrote one of the most godawful newer episodes and Horsted’s are getting a bit worse each new Futurama iteration, so maybe there’s just a lobotomy machine assigned to the series.
>>11791365At this point I'd be thankful if they just made Bender and Fry. I doubt we could ever get a line as expansive as the toynami collection again.
>>11791365I hope so. The Simpsons line is OK for what it is.
>>11791417>>11792263Billy West is 74 and sounds like it. His Farnsworth voice is literally just his regular voice. It's awful
>>11792498I noticed that too. Futurama should just end with a REAL finale. Simpsons should be the only experiment on how long before anyone especially Julie Kavner can last before they (god forbid soon) pass away
>>11792646Futurama should have ended like 2 endings ago
>>11790800Or you could just buy the current and mainstream stuff
>>11792646I’m happy to think of the real finale as ‘Meanwhile’, it’s a lovely idea for a sci-fi story and implies that everything just keeps going its merry way, but we don’t really need to see it. I don’t think I mind not seeing a bunch of futuristic Fry and Leela kids or adult Cubert’s life or whatever. We could definitely do with an updated Bender though, mine’s looking a bit rough and needs a repaint I’m too shaky-handed to try.>>11795723Never!
>>11790800I still have the toynami bender figure i got from toysrus when i was a kid in 2010
>>11795970Neca isn't fragile, but your mind sure is. Spammer.
>>11790917Sex with Swimsuit Leela
>>11796296Even though she looks lumpy and smells awful?
>>11790800Toynami Fry and Bender (and maybe Leela)? have okay articulation. I have Bender still and he’s fantastic with the bendy wire limbs. If I remember right, those three were made by a different company or years before the others. Every other character seems to have limited articulation like Simpsons World of Springfield stuff (despite being bigger iirc). No idea if that affects your decision but I just feel like the 3-4 poa figures aren’t worth the aftermarket prices. Bender? Maybe.
>>11796296>>11796375Sex with Leela after she loses the swimsuit and is left completely naked.
>>11792646>>11795778>MeanwhileSeconded. I can't imagine there's anything they could do to top it.
