/RAPT/ General - Back online edition.Welcome to the RAPT general. This general is mainly for these franchises. You can talk about modern lines (except for NECA), but the main focus is on the older vintage stuff from Kenner, Toy Island, etc.Discussion of the films and other media is also welcome.Discussion of other similar films and toylines like Rambo, Last Action Hero, Congo, Demolition Man, even Waterworld, is cool. Especially if it pertains to part swapping, customs, or features for wishful toylines you'd like to see.NECA discussion is Off-topic, and should be ignored.
Previous thread is nowhere near bump or image limit, why a new thread already?
I know plenty of people stick to a particular scale when it comes to their collections, but one advantage of grabbing toylines of varying scales is it gives your toys their own toys to play with.
>>11798012Someone in that thread >>11795439 summed it up pretty nicely.
Best xenos out there.
>>11798007That makes me wanna dig out my old endoskeleton, and grab that old Alien/Predator two pack.
>>11798045Oh man, you gotta, they're so good.
If this got made, would you buy it? (obviously the packaging might need some rewording).

>>11798007Your toy pics are the life essence of these threads OP. Really gallery worthy stuff.>>11798010God even now these old timers demand so much attention. Crazy how much prescence the kenner line had. Sort of related, do you have any thoughts on the vintage 18 inch figure? I know some reproductions have been made over the years. That toy really deserves better in anycase. Just like the Shogun Warriors, I find myself wishing for a mass market reissue of that beauty,
>>11798104How do the old T2 figures scale with the Kenner Xenos and Preds?
>>11798131Nah, its the sort of gag item that loses its luster pretty fast. Alot of the funko reaction releases are kind of like that too.
>>11798228
>>11798208I'm really tempted to buy John next despite still not having pulled the trigger on Kromium or Cybergrip yet. It's the slippery slope of collecting vintage, even when it's affordable, how do you best prioritize purchases? On a related note pic related still captures my imagination. Not just the reuse but the actual box art. I used AI to enlarge and clean up a battered boxed example I saw online. This thing really feels like a missing link to the original line.
Aforementioned boxed specimen

>>11798237I really like that dog. It looks cool.
>>11798223Thank you, just for fun here is an alternate idea that I though about going with where the Alien was facing the wrong direction, because they don't have eyes and wouldn't be able to see the screen, but I wasn't sure if the joke would land.>do you have any thoughts on the vintage 18 inch figure?I think the figure is honestly a work of art, the inner jaw mechanism, the glow in the dark paint under the dome, the curled tail acting as hook so you could hand it like the alien does hanging from the chains in the film. Really great play ideas, the figure is one of my true final grails, unfortunately every year they get harder to find and more expensive. There will probably have to be a mass die-off of older collectors to bring them back into the market. The fact that because of the controversy bunches of the figure were apparently clearanced out for a couple bucks toward the end blows my mind. Makes me wish I had a time machine to go back and grab a brand new one.
>>11798223>>11798671Just get the 1/4 NECA Big Chap, it’s far more accurate and affordable.
>>11798224Honestly not well. If were go by Arnold's height and the animatronic Endo then the T-600 should be 6'2" and the Endo should be 6'. Preds are supposed to be around seven and a half feet tall, and standard Xenos are between 8 and 9 feet tall. So the scale is all outta whack. The Toy Island Endo is way too small as well (though if you get the recent Marvel Legends Retro 3.75 inch scale Silver Surfer it does scale accurately for a T-1000).
>>11798231>how do you best prioritize purchases?I mainly focus on how close to screen accurate the figures are and how central a character, so I would absolutely grab John before Kromium or Cybergrip. In fact I've kinda written off Cybergrip entirely because I'm worried about GPS, but also I am trying to limit my collection to just what I really want. When I watch any of the RAPT movies I like to grab the figures off the shelf sometimes and have them on the couch to mess around with while watching, and Kromium and Cybergrip just don't fit into that.
>>11798231>>11798233I find it weird that they decided the helicopter should be another hero vehicle for the Terminator, especially given the it's the T-1000 that flies the chopper in the film.Actually if the budget were there, and given how popular fake damage toys were in the 90s, it would have been awesome to have the chopper and the SWAT van that had compatible breakaway parts so you could crash the chopper into the back of the SWAT van. Maybe it even activates some kind of sled/go-kart thing that launches out the front. I can just hear the toy voice over guy now "The Evil T-1000 crashes his Crash and Ram Chopper into the heroic Terminator Super Van, but the Heroic T-800 keeps going in the Escape Sled!" then a shot of the sled driving into the distance while some kid shakes the T-1000 "I'll get you next time Terminator!"
>>11798743>>11798744These are sick as hell.
>>11798744
>>11798743>>11798744>>11798747>>11798753Have they ever reissued the 1/4 Terminator stuff? I haven’t looked at after market prices but I’m assuming they’re pricey if not.
>>11798765They have not...sadly. Now that they're getting back into doing more 18", it'd be nice if we saw those again.
>>11798768Especially since they're doing the Jungle Hunter with the electronics again.
>>11798228>>11798230>>11798280>your usual neca fig>>11798010>>11798104I love that Alien Queen with the egg sac, any figure with slime/goo is based in my book
>>11798929Ah look, the usual troll post.
>>11798943hi necaschizo
>>11798957Seems kinda light on accessories
>>11798965
>>11798212>not split head apartI know thats not possible because how these rock them sock them game is build, but they missed that.
>>11798929hey man, neca figures are off limits in this thread.
>>11799050I just can't deal with Arnold's weird malformed face.
>>11798671Heh I didnt pick up on the joke until you pointed it out but I appreciated it anyways. Great stuff anon seriously.>The fact that because of the controversy bunches of the figure were apparently clearanced out for a couple bucks toward the end blows my mind. Makes me wish I had a time machine to go back and grab a brand new one.Oh man the stories I've heard from older collectors over the years. I'm pretty sure there are photos of clearance bins from long defunct toy stores brimming with those xenos. There's nothing sadder to me than visuals like that. Atleast the stuff that pegwarms nowadays is just legitimately crap for the most part. That xeno really was a true and honest toy. The platonic ideal of what a boy's toy should strive to be. I feel the same way about Shogun Warriors and vintage MOTU.>>11798679>Kenner Batman scales better with the predator and xeno lines than terminator I really wonder what compelled the T2 designers to go with that 5.5 scale instead of 4.5 like all these other lines. From the looks of it I bet the Swamp Thing toys scale with these guys just as swimmingly. Shit imagine if they'ed thought to reuse the swamp trap or the endor tree fort for the pred line. Hell thinking about it now they could have released a Batman and Predator pack to coinside with the comic's release.>>11798688In Cybergrip's defense I havent seen many broken examples online, just incomplete ones. Kromium's a bit more difficult because his springs tend to give out. I get your logic in anycase. I just know I'll leap frog from one line to the next. My collection still lacks a Jack Slater lol.
>>11798694It likely just boils down to them having the mold then putting two and two together. The original Rambo iteration already looks cool on its own. Bringing the neon red and chrome camo from the kenner assault coupe just gave it such a distinct personality. It's hard not to appreciate what a difference a different color palette can make. Your old Terminator photo set led to me editing pic related together for my own amusement. The Crash Test Dummy gimmicks really dont see enough use these days right? I'm surprised they werent cribbed more often back then.
Samurai Realization Robocop when?
>>11799269
>>11799253Never, that’s a dumb idea.
>>11799273>>11799278I never picked up the Red Queen, but damn that looks badass. How come they never reissue that one?
>>11799240>ArnoldNah, that’s Joey from ‘Friends’.
>>11799253>Yameiro, in za neimu of za raw!
>>11798007that’s a pretty awesome picthat said didn’t I see every one of these other pics spammed in another thread
>HSSSSSSSSSSSS!>No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die.
>>11799925KINO!
>>11799359>didn’t I see every one of these other pics spammed in another threadYeah, that's NECA anon continuing to throw his little tantrum, just hide them.
>>11799990You should cry like a bitch more.
>>11799990Every time he posts a figure, I check how much I can get for it. He has done a great job of encouraging me to sell my collection.
>>11800308Good, shows what a loser you are.
