I'm surprised the mando Snowtrooper comes with the classic helmet with mouth cover. I might actually get this then because I can't resist dirty troopers.

But what the hell is going on with the kama? Is this ai slop? It's a plastic piece, no way it can move like that...

These are the best reveals ever! I loved Mandalorian and Grogu, it's perfect like all Disney Star Wars! You must love the yucky conservative Old Trilogy with its lack of feminism and diversity! Thank science that Disney finally made Star Wars progressive and anti-white!

Vintage.
I know the "shills!" Faggit will get triggered, but I actually like this wave, because I've been pining for that sand trooper from the three pack, and now I don't NEED to get the other two!

i would love to just go all in on 3.75 but tbs has released more figures that i care about in the last ~7 years than tvc has
although i usually just get the ones i care about, which mostly comprise of jedi, sith, ayys, and droids
>>

>>
>>11798687
I'm torn. I like Snowtroopers, and there are three mask options so that's great, but, man, I hate Black Series' articulation scheme.

>>11798827

>>
>>11798762
I went to Black Series when the 3.75" started becoming 5POA. Then around 2022 I began buying TVC because the articulation was finally good enough and I was splitting my budget between the two lines pretty equally. Now I'm pretty much just TVC because BS kept raising prices and removing articulation without really giving much in terms of value. Plus TVC is a lot more fun with all the creatures, playsets, and vehicles.
>>
>>11798687
I actually don't have any Snowtroopers somehow, Imissed grabbing them during the ESB anniversary, so I'll grab one of this guy. I won't lie, the fact that you can mix and match helmets is really tempting to grab a second one as well.
>>
>>11798879
Ban evading is against the rules, you know...
>>
>>11798863
Yeah, no one with a better articulation set-up is gonna do a snowtrooper, and if they did they sure as hell wouldn't be at an armybuilder price.
I may be able to wring some more range out of them, it works with Classified, it may be doable here.

Snowtrooper one looks very strange, there's folds and creases in the crouching kama that aren't in the standing pose. It almost looks like two swappable pieces.

I've had two snowtroopers from black series and weirdly, one was thick and very solid kama that basically made him into a standee instead of an action figure and the other was a soft and supple plastic that would easily open up for any kind of pose.
>>
>>11798687
What would be the ideal material for a soft goods snowtrooper kama anyways? I've seen them with both a fabric texture and a synthetic texture. Does it vary by rank? I've never had a good eye for costume detail.
>>
>>11798944
Okay! But the echo isn't as big as the one from your mom's box
>>11798945
Yep. It's funny too, you see them desperately leaking "suggestions" to see how the public reacts. Those youtube retards served as "useful idiots" when they had proxies reach out to them and "leak" "plans" to "reboot" the sequels just to do market research and see what the community actually thinks of the idea. In the long run, I simply don't fucking care. You had ONE CHANCE to bring back Hamill, Fisher & Ford, you don't get a "do-over" from me, I'll wait for the fans to do an AI fan film instead.
>>
>>11798673
Repacking that sandtrooper is so retarded. The backpack is oversized, the belt is wrong, the weathering paint apps are terrible, and we know they can do better because of the remnant stormies have much better weathering. And they still did not update the hips.

Disney has to use Prequel stuff now. They fucked their shit up entirely. Hell, Groglett is a box office bomb now.

>>
>“The Mandalorian and Grogu” has turned up with one of the lowest numbers in the Star Wars franchise’s history on the weekend of its opening at the box office. This major flop has raised a big question of how poorly things are going for Disney, and many cannot look the other way.
>>
>>11799238
They are. They just have the legends banner.
>>
>>11799237
The best part of that is that in the announcement that the EU was ending they literally stated they were still going to keep publishing the books with the Legends label, so the people who came up with this conspiracy theory didn't even bother to read the initial announcement and just assumed bookstores were going to burn all non-Disney or something

I really don't get why they are so harsh on it. It is really just for fans of the show. Had good development for Grogu and gave Mando a wake up call to the reality of his relationship. And I guess the sword for the new black series mando and grogu was literally nothing?
>>
>>11799266

It really isn't. The show was going downhill fast, and the movie is a big symptom of WHY. You have to have to be the biggest apologist yet to not see that.

Agreed. I'm glad to see some cool aliens and not just human in brown jacket figures. Plus I actually liked the first couple seasons of Rebels.
>>
>>11799235
This was the biggest lie I believed because I saw it thrown around so often. They bought it outright and Lucas gets no risiduals. There is no monetary incentive to withhold products with OT and PT content. Which makes the state of Star Wars toys since Disney even more frustrating.
>>
My desert land speeder FINALLY came in (I fucking hate eBay sellers that take more than 3 days to ship! This one took like 5 days!)
It's pretty good for less than $20, though I already lost a missile lmao! It's a bit smaller than I thought, but still good for the price point.

Man, some of the random vehicles from Disney era have been pretty decent and cheap.
>>
>>11799525
Pretty cool! 3.75 scale vehicles are fun and the whole point of the scale. I still have an old landspeeder because I find the springy wheel "hover" gimmick so much fun. Vehicles with spring missiles are also pretty great though. Hopefully you find it.

I was worried that if they used the deluxe IG-12 body as the basis for a new IG-11 that they'd also make it a deluxe so seeing it as a regular release is a relief, because that means that the inevitable IG-88 is likely going to be a regular release
>>
>>11799632
I accept your surrender.
Also, your retarded ass accusation doesn't even make sense; Disney is paying me to push sales of a 10 year old toy, that is only available from second hand sellers, and that wasn't even in the movies, that are rumored to get retconned??
>>
>>11799651
>that are rumored to get retconned?
Why did this become a thing recently? I know people have been wishing for the ST to get retconned for years but why did it suddenly blow up to the point where people genuinely believe it's going to happen?
>>
>>11799659
*Shrugs*
Cope? Willing it into existence?
I mean, the direction SW is going has been bad, something HAS got to give, and resetting the canon (again) doesn't seem like the worst idea, as they DID do it once already. I mean, what do we lose of any value? Mandalorian S1? Even that one had issues, just axe it all and reboot it.
I will say, though, that as long as Filoni is there, it would be for naught.
(Anybody that believes Filoni is the future of SW are the biggest fools around!)
>>
>>11799670
I'm not saying we need to keep the current canon, but I just don't see any reason why Disney would ever drop it, or why in the last like 3 weeks everyone's suddenly talking about it like it's a sure thing.
>>
>>11799672
>Why they would drop it
It's poison! Every movie after TLJ has been doing worse and worse. Their only hit (mandalorian) is now dog water.
Even theTOYS are suffering!
Ahsoka? CHOKING shelves to this day!
Acolyte? Laughed when they were on pegs, and you can basically buy any figure from that series at Ross/discount stores for a quarter of the price or less.
Skeletal Crew? I kid you not, they went straight to the discount stores!!
It's also MUCH easier to do something else that conflicts with that canon, than to try to work around it (mando did, and look at how well that show turned out!)
>Rumors
Hey, like I said, it could be cope.
>>
>>11799680
But what actual reason does Disney have for dropping it? Making that stuff non-canon doesn't change anything, it won't gain them any goodwill and it's not like you can do the sequels over again. The damage is done. There's zero incentive for them to drop any of this from canon.
>>
>>11799672
Disney is never going to retcon any of this because that's an admission of failure, the conversation basically stops there
>>
>>11798987

>>
>>11799685

Are the heads swappable between the two Krennics? Because while the one on the right was reissued with updated photoreal, the Andor dress version on the left still manages to have a better skintone and photoreal than the reissue.
>>
>>11800288
NTA, but the rumor was that they were going hit the reset button on the sequels if Mando and Grogu didn't hit the numbers Disney wanted it to. It didn't, but time will ultimately tell. I don't feel like they really have anything to lose by throwing it out though, literally no one likes those movies regardless of how they feel about Disney canon as a whole.
>>
>>11800439
Mandoverse can just as easily divert to a new timeline since it's just fresh off of ROTJ anyway. It's the really just the fact that the sequels always get in the way of anything post-OT.

In that pic, the one on the right is the original Rogue One release, but while the recent reissue is better, it's still not as nice looking as the Andor dress uniform version in that pic which somehow had sharper details on the photoreal and a better choice of color for the plastic skintone. Pic-related is the original compared to the reissue.

If it were me, I would:
>Get two of those Aaylas
>Get new Padme
>Remove head, torso, arms, and legs at the thigh swivel on Padme and both right arms from Aaylas
>Dye torso and leg pieces black
>Paint hip and upper leg pieces gray
>Assemble back together (the sculpt of Aayla's arm is pretty simple and you shouldn't notice that it's just been flipped around other than that it won't quite rest as close to her body as the other one)
>Find some bit of plastic and cut it into strips to glue around where the cut for the thigh swivel is create the cuff of her boots
>Glue on some Gundam pieces for the kneepads
>Source a vest (Aphra is probably the best bet) and repaint it
Also if I may suggest just getting this Mission Vao head form Scoundrel's Stock.

Disney wars maybe.
>>
>>11800822
From the OT probably. Though maybe not with every single background character that was in the scene present. Not sure about PT. There's a number of small scenes with rando minor characters. I thought about some like Ric Ollie talking to Anakin, Sio Bible talking about invasion, Sly Moore being told to leave for the tragedy of Darth Plgaueis. But I just checked and all three of them actually do have figures kek though they can't sit which they were doing so in most of their scenes.

Also thought about scenes without characters that would need a diorama like the Falcon flying out of the Exogorth. While I don't think Hasbro ever made one, there seems to be a statue that would cover it. Is there any character from the 6 films with a speaking part that doesn't have a 3.75" figure? Even Sleazebagganno has one. Maybe it is possible if you are allowed to use everything like statues and christmas tree ornaments and stuff like that. Can't think of what scenes wouldn't be possible off the top of my head.
>>
>>11800080
Isn't the black series using a lot of Aphra parts? Then maybe you can just use TVC Aphra
>>
>>11800854

>>
>>11800860

>>11800854
We're still missing like a third of the Cantina patrons alone
Are you counting just modern lines or everything since kenner? I think you can do all of the action and dialogue scenes which is what would matter most. It would be impossible to 100% every background extra

>>11800863
You primarily just need Motti and Tarkin for that scene but we do have others to fill the chairs. They made a battlepack specifically for that meeting didn't they? Don't know that it included every officer though but the way I am thinking about it, if someone were to make a stop motion and have the right figure for every dialogue and action, that is close enough for this hypothetical recreation

Shame you euro bros dont have ROSS dress for less. We'll be getting these slop for $6-7 in a few months. Stacks of Mandolrians alreay hitting ROSS shelves. Full waves of ANDOR, Wokelyte, Skelly Crew, Ghost Quigons, even Maul. Only thing propping up retail SW is Clone Wars. That shit flies off the shelves and preorder stock.

It was a meh version. The one with the sofgoods cape came out at the same time as this one and both were even on the Target pegs at one point. I recommend just sticking to your favorite characters. Less is more. Have your small HT display tell a story.

If you start buying troopers, secondary characters, etc, it turns into a mess and it's still expensive and the need for space becomes a real issue.

My HT display now is only Qui Gon-Obi Wan-Anakin/Vader-Luke with the latter 3 having multiple iterations. I have 1/12 for the larger scope of Star Wars.
>>
>>11801627
I actually have a sneaking suspicion that we will be seeing plenty of M&G TVC at Ross, soon enough, because I've only seen them on shelves for a single case, if even, unlike the other wave that had two or more cases each store.
I jumped the gun and bought the remnant troopers, but I won't say no to a second of each at $5 each. The inquisitors would be nice at that price point as well :p

They need to uncouple themselves from the idea of having the Haslabs be big ticket items and use them to crowdfund fan pleasers that don't translate to mass market. Make a TVC wave specifically for the people who want every single background cantina patron. Give us a KotOR wave, or one for Andor, Skeleton Crew, or some area of the EU. Eight figure batches or thereabouts so the pledge costs and tiers don't get too crazy. Everyone is broke because the dollar is cratering and collectors who did the previous Haslabs don't have space for a sixth fuckhuge ship or playset so only do those every five years or something.
>>
>>11802496
Honestly we're also running out of viable options. There's only so many ships/playsets that people will want to shell out big bucks for. The gunship struggled to make it to the end and even with a last minute FOMO push it still only unlocked one tier. I think doing a collection of figures would be a smarter idea, though even then I'd rather they do it as a made-to-order thing like they've been doing with Marvel Legends as opposed to a crowdfund that needs to hit X number of goals.
>>
>>11802580

>>
>>11802749
They are in panic mode because they suffered way too many losses. I don’t get how the industry works but it’s clear any of those companies can afford some misses.
Disney has been repeatedly missing for a decade and not just with Star Wars. They are being forced to admit their “creative” ideas don’t work even with a famous IP and are running out of chances.
So rather than being in panic because those aren’t doing money, they dished them out because they were in panic and that’s all they had some faith in. Now we are just seeing the mask of confidence they put up fall apart since that emergency button they had failed.
Mandalorian wasn’t even bad I’ll give them that. But it isn’t something that good either. Personally I didn’t recommend to anyone.

How much was Mando's budget again? If it was relatively lower budget, even bombing it might still make Disney a small profit.
>>
>>11803773
It is a much lower budget, but it's not going to make profit. It's doing THAT bad.
>>
>>11803773
According to Wikipedia it's $165m, with a current box office of $246.6m. Not sure what the marketing costs, but unless it was close to $100m which I doubt, it's on track to make a small profit. It's kind of weird that people keep comparing it to Solo when a big part of Solo's problem was how expensive it was due to having to reshoot almost the entire movie. M&G doesn't even have to do Solo numbers to be profitable.

But honestly none of this matters without knowing just what Disney themselves were expecting. If they expected this to make $500m+ they'd be complete idiots setting themselves up for disappointment. The fact that they didn't seem to want to spend all that much on this movie tells me they're expecting a modest profit and not a huge blockbuster.

M&G is probably going to do okay. Not amazing, not great, but just okay. The bigger problem though is that Disney has another big SW movie on the horizon and they probably released M&G as a low budget test to see if there's still any enthusiasm for a theatrical Star Wars movie after all these years. There isn't, it's clear that the brand is still in trouble and you can't just slap Star Wars on something and have it print money. Starfighter doesn't even have the benefit of being connected to a popular show, and Ryan Gosling is only going to draw in so many people. So the problem for Disney isn't that M&G wasn't a massive hit, it's that Starfighter is now being set up for failure.
>>
>>11804071
It's being compared to Solo because Solo sucked ass.
>>
>>11802496
a TVC squad of Mudtroopers would make me happy.

I picked up the Blokees Stormtrooper, well specifically the disguised Han Solo, out of curiosity after seeing how hard Blokees is being shilled lately. The people saying these are better than Hasbro are retarded or are blinded by the price and the couple extra not particularly useful accessories you get. I mean yeah for $15 it's a nice toy but still has a lot of the problems of a model kit. Plus it just doesn't look good or accurate. I'm not going to collect these or get them over Black Series.
>>
>>11806916
Anon, when considering the overall grade of an item, price is a very big factor, and shouldn't be disregarded. I know for a FACT that if even the "perfect" toy was $10,000, then it would be anything but.

Here is an older picture I took a few years ago of the Combat Assault Tank and the troopers that do not come with it. I haven't checked in awhile, but the price on them used to be silly expensive in the TVC. I ended up picking up the Jedha Revolt Pack for the pilot and TVC Commander I pre ordered and got it at MSRP
>>
>>11806969
Sure it is a good product and high quality for the price. Maybe I downplayed that which I didn’t mean to. Considering the overall package it is solid value. But I don’t like it as an action figure and would get more satisfaction from a Hasbro figure. Black series can be bought for a few bucks more especially since they always go on sale and feel much better to play with, the joints feel better to move, and I’m pretty sure there is better articulation in certain areas on the TBS stormtrooper.

As for looks, I guess that is subjective but I don’t think it looks that good because it’s sort of cartoony. The shoulders are very broad, the helmet is off, the way the armor is sculpted doesn’t seem to quite match any particular source material. It’s like their own stylization. Which is fine, I just prefer screen accuracy. But I think objectively ugly are the knee joints. They are very thin and look ridiculous. It’s still cool but not my definitive Stormtrooper fig.

>>11806980
I think it’s fine to like 'em, they are good products. But some are acting like these are the best toys ever. In the price range? Perhaps. But that should be specified. Plus they are model kits so really I’m not sure if they should even be compared to regular figures because both feel very different.

More importantly, they're concerned with the precedent it sets seeing a big figure company give in to a couple of hostile online comments.

I know no one cares but I'm really curious about what this is. The ultimate decked out clone has been a dream of mine for a long time. I know it will probably end up being disappointing but I would love if it was something like this:
>plain white armor, no markings
>phase 1 standard helmet
>phase 1 rangefinder helmet
>phase 2 standard helmet
>phase 2 binoculars helmet
>regular crew cut head, buzz cut, crew cut with beard/mustache
>backpack
>thermal detonators that can fit inside backpack
>DC-15 rifle and carbine
>DC-17 pistol
>z-6 rotary cannon
>RPS-6 rocket launcher

No way it will have all those accessories though. The rumor lists 3 pauldrons which seems unnecessary and I'm not sure if there are even that many variants? Maybe one is the Neyo/Airborne trooper chest straps I don't know what a third would be unless it's animated and movie versions.

The costume in that scene is strongly based on her second outfit from the animated series, except they toned it down as well. They removed the diamond-shaped holes in her pants and changed her top so it would show less skin.

it isn’t Star Wars but it’s like there is this feeling I missed so much. Something that most scifi lack that Star Wars does. This spirituality you know?
You think we will ever get back to those things? I know there is Jedi Survivor but even that I feel it lacks something compared to Old Republic and Jedi Academy. It’s like… there is a difference when the setting has more Jedi and Sith around and that helps nail these things better.
>>
>>11810464
Because people seem to react with "muh religion bad" with anything spiritual these days, even in fiction. I don't think it's completely gone though, it's just a matter of finding good writers who's into that stuff.

Im fucking pissed. Not only should this retro collection six pack have been solicited online months ago since hasbro took way too long revealing the figures in the whole set, when it finally does go up for sale its a goddamn preorder. Theres no excuse for this sheer lazyness on hasbros part, the set should've been out by april or may after they first revealed garindan or whatever all those months back but it definitely shouldnt be a goddamn preorder. They absolutely could start shipping them now but hasbro is too lazy and inept to even be competent anymore. I fucking hate how everything is a preorder now. And target has some superfluous street date on the set for july 19 so even if they get it in stores before hand itll probably be register locked because target in particular are street date nazis. Fuck street dates and fuck preorders, their is no fucking excuse that this set which shouldve already been out months ago wont start shipping to us until a month and a half from when its first goes up for sale.

>>
>>11810506
Now that you mention it I think you are right. I never valued that stuff when I was a child, but it’s strangely fulfilling when a character has a creed or follows an order of sorts. It’s as if there is meaning in what he is doing, something he is carrying.
I’m not even a devout or anything deeper, but it’s like the difference from simply someone having powers and being a proper Jedi/Sith. It’s more than that.
>>
>>11810464
Notice how all these flops like mando and anbore and really majority of the stuff Disney has made do not have Jedi or lightsabers, at least not in a prominent way. Benching a core element of the franchise is retarded. Of course there is the High Republic and Acolyte filled with Jedi... But those feel like weirdo authors indulging their gay fetish fantasies, not real Star Wars. If I remember correctly there is a lot of weird sex positive messaging in the high republic books, even ones for kids. I think that is way creepier than a Hot Toys Ahsoka.

Mando wasn't a flop until the movie and that's more of a case of waiting three years to drop a continuation to a TV series that just felt like more of the same. The show was literally one of the most popular series in the world, even with it's decline in S3. Crapped all over jedi focused series like Obi-Wan and Ahsoka in viewership and reception.
>>
>>11810569
Mando as a series has a lot of spirituality though, between Grogu being Force sensitive and the Mandalorians being framed harder as a religious bunch, even more so than they were in the Clone Wars. Even Boba Fett's show played into this with Tuskens which was the best part of that series. The problem is that the rest of the franchise has been in this huge lull since the sequels and them not capitalizing hard enough on Mando's popularity until it was too late shows that timing is everything.

That said, on my periphery a bunch people I know are only just getting into SW completely blind thanks to the Mando movie.
>>
>>11810614
I get the feeling a lot of people are waiting for the movie to come to Disney+, it might make up for its theatrical bombing by having decent streaming numbers though I have no idea just how much of that translates into actual profit
>>
>>11810569
I like Maul. Though probably because it was the first time in years I finally saw these lightsaber combats back
>>11810577
>>11810614
This. Actually ironically S3 is the one that brings this best. Bo Katan kept talking about the traditions being theatrics to control people, but Mando goes on to explain that the Mandalorians were scattered like stars and the creed was the only thing uniting them. He was apostate, their way of life is what screwed him over to fulfill the mission for Grogu. He accepted and still went through it for his penitence. And then the following adventures with Bo Katan has her fumble here and there while Mando’s respect for other cultures like the engineers got them to help him.
The story messes up with the whole “Bo Katan belongs to both worlds!” “Bo Katan saw the Mythosaurus” “Bo Katan earned the Darksaber and shall unite the tribes!”
When you take Bo Katan out of focus, it’s actually doing a proper job with Mando teaching her mandalorian values that she gave no worth and show her how those things matter. His quest, apostasy and redemption indirectly reunited the tribes after the purge of Mandore. His faith was rewarded.
>>
>>11810677
has anyone called out bo katan for being a dumb bitch who only brings ruin to the mandalorians every time she attempts leadership or are they still pretending that doesn't keep happening
>>
>>11810963
This is why she needs Din to temper her and so Grogu can have a mother.
>>
>>11810963
No. At most her faction seemed to build to that but the crux of their issue was that Din Djarin had the Darksaber right there and she could be dueling him for it.

The Darksaber thing pissed me off so much. Din earns it in true combat from the Empire and that sets up an opportunity for a great arc of him becoming the new Mandalore but they give it to Bo on a technicality.

Also pic related.
>>
>>11811109
>writers were to making something amazing, but THEY just kept on fumbling it
It's same with Grogu, I already can picture execs screaming "YOU DID HWHAT?!" when they heard that Mando dumped his ass in Luke's Academy, so they had to haphazardly reunite them again in separate series cameo.
>>
>>11811109
>>11811306
>>11811391
It really feels like there was a division among the writers. As if half of them wanting one thing tying up with old lore and building with Mando, while the other half wanted to keep things as they were, getting rid of his weapons and sending him off with Grogu to the stars than either of them starting the new generation of Mandalorians and Jedi.

The new TVC Cody reveal has made me want to get some 212th troopers but the 4-pack released a while ago uses the shitty removeable helmet. I hope either Hasbro or that AliExpress store will put some new ones out using the non-removable helmet that the recent 501st has.
>>
>>11814687
I got the aliexpress ones with the removable helmets and they are shit, not just because of the helmets but overall. So I’m hoping Hasbro does a single card.

I still don’t know which clones to load up the haslab gunship with. Usually I only get two per legion but I will need more for the gunship. 501st is kinda boring for me
>>
>>11814922
What was bad about the AE ones? I got some of the Wolfpack clones when they first went up and found they were pretty close in quality to Hasbro, aside from the strong chemical smell, but I haven't grabbed anymore since then. I'd definitely prefer to buy official ones, just for the sake of consistency at the very least.

>I still don’t know which clones to load up the haslab gunship with. Usually I only get two per legion but I will need more for the gunship. 501st is kinda boring for me
I'm stuck on that too. 501st is the only faction I have enough of to actually fill it enough, otherwise it's just gonna be plain white ones. I was hoping these new Walmart two-packs were going to be the new version of those Target Order 66 sets and give us Jedi + Commander and then that would give Hasbro an easy way to offer more army builder sets that would coincide with their respective officers.
>>
>>11814999
The smell is the worst part for me, I could never get it out no matter what I tried and even just holding them makes my hands smell lol. Also I had some warping on the blasters and legs and I hate the VC45 clone hands they use for whatever reason.

I'm very sure we were supposed to get a whole season without Grogu while Mando sorts all of his shit out. That way they can both develop and a reunion wouldve been more earned. The story was always going to be about Mando and Grogu, thats for certain. I doubt they planned for Mando to be THE Mandalorian and became the next ruler or someshit. That just wasnt his character. He is just a simple Mandalorian who finally found a small measure of peace. However disney got fucking scared of losing their literal only money maker after the actual disaster of the franchise so they decided to point a gun at Favreau's head and demand to cut all that and just have them reunite and milk the ever loving fuck and ruin the only good thing they had. The writers of Andor must have threatened to whistleblow disney pedos because how that shit did not get fucked with is beyond me. Regardless I will continue to enjoy Mando and Grogu adventures, but it did get ruined and it sucks.

I want the Scout Trooper too
>>
Anakin and Cody pack ended up at $45 rather than the $50 and $40 that was going around before.

I might just preorder because I didn't preorder the black series purge trooper 2 pack and then it went up $10 and never came down. The Obi-Wan and Airborne pack hasn't gone down in price either so not sure there is any point in waiting.
>>
>>11817806
The $40 price was confirmed in store. This $45 is something that is happening online for whatever reason. Maybe they will adjust it but I'm just going to take a chance and wait for it to hit the pegs. There's still plenty of the Obi-Wan set at my store so I'm not gonna worry about grabbing this one straight away.

>We want definitive figures of the main movie characters
>Hasbro: okay we heard you. Here is revenge of the sith Anakin and Obi-Wan!
>but we reused parts on Obi-Wan so we had to give him ugly knees
>also if you want them you have to pay double and get two clones with them
>and you can only get them from walmart
what a fail. Emily would never have done this.
>>
>>11817812
Waste of money
>>
>>11817924
I'm assuming this is the kind of situation where they wouldn't have been able to afford producing these figures at all without making a deal with Walmart so they had to just make up some bullshit
>>
>>11818398
That's what Chris or someone said about the first two pack, that it was the only way to put those characters out. Not sure if that refers to Obi-Wan or the airborne or both but either way that doesn't really make sense to me. Obi-Wan shouldn't have had any compromises and he deserved a full new tool mainline slot and the airborne is whatever, just a clone retool, not a priority. I won't pretend to know how their budgeting works but it feels like they often rush out something cheap instead of waiting to get the budget to do it right.

Reminds me of the Stunticons and Menasor. They were doing so well until the last one. Instead of waiting to do a proper Breakdown, they rushed him out as a Wildrider repaint. Sometimes that's fine like the legs on that one Cassian Andor because who really gives a fuck but certain characters need to be done right like Obi-Wan or clone commandos and if it means waiting longer, so be it.
>>
>>11817812
What a ridiculous idea to get rid of both the Dark Saber and the Beskar Spear. Can’t let him have anything cool.
>>
>>11818569
Weapons are my religion
>allows everything to be confiscated/taken
>>
>>11818569
Eh I get why they did it. They're never going to radically change his costume the way they do with most characters, so the best next thing is to constantly swap out his weaponry. But he will probably never be cooler than he was in BOBF when he walked around all kitted out with the spear and saber. At least with the movie he obtained the pulse rifle back and got to use some swords.
>>
>>11818842
I don't know WHY he never painted his armor! His old design is waaaay cooler, in my opinion, because it felt more HIS, whereas the beskar armor felt like an upgrade, yeah, but after a while, it also felt barren and naked, plain, cold, standard issue.
They should've had him paint it at some point, both to show character growth, as well as to spice up the constant figure releases :/

Also spear was peak, especially after losing his rifle; it kept that silhouette going. Darksaber was always a stupid donut steel lightsaber, just like Asohka's white sabers.
If they really did want to do the whole "beskar is meant to protect", then just have smith change the tip to something else.
>>
>>11818842
Agreed. It could be redundant to have two melee weapons, but it was awesome to have them specially for different situations. Felt like a true warrior. The spear in particular, in a setting everyone had lightsaber variants made it feel there was a difference for Mandalorians in particular. And it actually balanced out with Darksaber’s weighted blows.
>>11818864
The spear is the one I’m most bummed about him losing.

>>
>>11818908
>The spear is the one I’m most bummed about him losing.
At least that had a good explanation for the reasoning behind it. Unlike the transfer of the Darksaber and no mandalorian acknowledging the significance of his achievement in reclaiming it. But as soon as Bo has it suddenly she's the special one who can walk two paths.
>>
Did it, things weren't nearly as easy as I had hoped :/
>>
>>11819228
Ok, the elbows bugged me, went back on most of the swaps lol
I was also very confused at how a lot of what seems like similar parts, were actually SLIGHTLY different, which made part swapping unnecessarily difficult, which leaves me to believe that Hasbro did this on purpose.
Eh, whatever, guess I'll just have to paint a lot of these guys with silver paint... (Better than some of these schemes...)
>>
>>11819228
>>11819308
what are you actually doing
>>
>>11819496
I WAS trying to address the horrible color combinations of these mandalorians armor, but it wasn't as easy as I thought. Still managed some swaps between the two normal mandalorians in the shriek pack, so they're good looking now, so I'm just going to paint the taller one and the female one to have better colors.
>>
Have any of you done the home depot lightsaber thing?
>>
>>11819661
No, what kind of sex position is that?
>>
>>11819661
What's funny is back in high school metal shop, I had the idea to do something like that.... At the last week, when it was kinda too late...
>>
>>11819783
It's when you put a pipe coupling around the base of your dong and then you swing it around and duel with your friends.
>>
>>11819228
I did some parts swapping recently. It was to put the torso of the Mando that came with the N-1 onto the Imperial Base Mando legs. Now I have my definitive version of him with all his weapons, compatible with his jet pack, and has the barbell hips. So I guess thanks for nothing Hasbro, for not including the new hips on the N-1 version and forcing me to pick another Mando up at Ross.

Yeah, my Ross consistently gets both black series and TVC. Also universal studios (monsters, e.t., BttF) Neca and Tmnt Neca.
>>
>>11820742
What TVC have you seen recently? Last ones I saw was IG-12 and Thrawn. Haven't even seen the usual suspects like Mando, Bo, or the acolyte shit for like a solid month.
>>
>>11820749
Last thing I got was actually some 501st clones (Kenobi flashback) my friend saw and picked up for me.
>>
Custom painted the tall mandalorian, which I forgot to NOT wash, so now it doesn't match lol
W/e, better than default rainbow armor.
Also added some bullets to the two blue mandalorians for some extra details.
Judge has a custom disintegrator, and the stock has been reduced a bit on the grenade launcher, so they can actually shoulder it.
>>
>>11820749
I've got like six 501st clones and that mando supercommando

Looks like the Traya/Nihilus two packs are starting to ship. Mine should get here Sunday.

>I got this

I don't know
The figure comes under 1/10 scale
I do like the mold and the general look

But the paint job is a bit shoddy.
All the white armor parts are painted
You would think that's a good thing but not really. You know how with Black Series you have splashes of black paint on the white time to time. In this case, the non white and white paint jobs are not apply evenly.

Most of the articulation are there
But the way how high side thigh "spikes" on the hip, they did not do any special so even with a pull down hips you can't do kneeling pose.

I just found it really strange they didn't use white plastic instead of full paint.

Overall, coming in at 20 usd I won't say I can't recommend it. It does look good on the shelf from a distance with how big it is. If they come out with a 2.0 fixing all the minor gripes I have with the design production I think this trooper would be great.

I hope Vader will turn out better
>>
>>11821049
Oh yeah, I got those too. Army builders are eating good at Ross lately. Hoping those Gamerverse tvc stormtroopers hit at some point.
>>
>>11821643
I hadn't seen anyone post these, I didn't know they were already out. Actually not sure where you can even get them from. 1/10 scale already turned me off but too bad quality isn't that good either. I never understand why companies paint parts that could easily be cast in a single solid color. It's more expensive to paint too.
>>
Traya and nihilus should be here Friday.
>>
>>11820135
As someone just getting into Black series over the last year because of the increased amount of prequel figures; I think it’s the opposite. I collect Marvel Legends, Storm Arena, Jada and Figuarts and the modern Black Series actually has some of the most unique sculpting, very good face printing, and a nice mixture of cloth goods, and I’m not even usually a cloth goods enjoyer. A lot of them could use some more accessories like hands or interchangeable expressions, for sure. But I feel like his point of them making “premium” figures; they KINDA try to do that. Within the scope of a Marvel Legends style, American retail line.

I am looking forward to Valaverse’s “extras” line of figures, which are basically just generic thugs like Shartimus Prime tried to make with his failed “Street Humans” kickstarter campaign. So I’ll give him props for that.

>>11821019

>>
>>11823760
Yes black series figures can be quite good when they are all new tools and not repaints of 10 year old molds or inaccurate kitbashes. It’s not a bad line at all, the people that hate really just don’t know anything or don't have enough experience with toys.

Ooh, that looks nice!
Man, though, you reminded me that I never got a tie pilot! Does anybody know if the ones available in TVC have the ball hip joints? I remember an anon said that the swivel+hinge hips are functionally the same so there's no point in changing them; fak u! I wish they'd upgrade the storm troopers already! I'm never going back!
>>

>>11825283

I can't believe we finally have a Kreia figure
>>
>>11825578
If they do Sion, HK or VIsas they could make so much money. HK especially I don't understand how they haven't made. Easy repaints between KOTOR and TSL plus the HK50s and 51s if they wanted to
>>
Any good B1 Battle Droids besides the Black Series? I heard they can’t stand up well.
>>
>>11825578
>>11825698
I hope Sion is packed with The Exile, who should be female, that's not even a controversial statement.
They could probably do an Exile 2 pack, one male one female. People would pay for that.
>>
>>11826170
i think scion should be paired with kreia, they do have a history and all that
an exile two pack is a good idea, especially if it came with alternate heads and saber colours, but i highly doubt hasbro would be that generous
>>
>>11825283

I don’t get why they keep reusing those shit Leia legs from like 2015 on female figures with skirts. Well I guess these are technically Shaak Ti’s with the retooled boots. But they’ve made better female legs with pinless knees that they could reuse instead. All the molds prior to about 2020 need to go away for good.
