Thanks. Unlike a lot of people, I actually like the bright colored plastic and lack of paint on sh figuarts. The concept of giving a figure a "Wash" or the McFarlane/Neca shading as I often think of it, has always been ugly to me and makes figures look grubby imo.

I prefer the ZT for the hair and the faces. The body will also be consistent with my other brolys.

Aside from the qc stuff. His faces are garbage, DF tier for double the price & the paint is sloppy. This is a sidegrade to the Dragon Stars not an upgrade. If any company makes another Cell, I'll guarantee you'll throw it instantly for a better one.

On that topic, it bothers me to no end that Figuarts almost always refuses to make a more comical or happy face plate for Vegeta in any of their releases. It's always, stoic, angry, yelling, or smug...but never any of the more fun faces that are included with 3P shit.

That's what I thought until someone said in a Transformers thread "if it has a neutral face I can imagine it having any expression I want" and maybe I'm just autistic but if you're using your imagination anyway does it really matter? I guess if you pose your figures hugging if the face is screaming it's less believable.
I know people who just pose their figures in standing poses get mad at things with non at ease expressions (google image search GI Joe Classified Crazylegs) but I always go for action poses so I'm not too bothered by it.

An interesting note the dragon stars figures are actually designed in Japan. The bandai america people have said they go to Japan to check on the designers for the figures. The neutral face is probably by nature of them only having one face included. They have the screaming faces on them with the power up packs.

Got some cool usb powered showcase lights from aliexpress for my SHF collection (mainly for dbz). I'm probably going to get more. They look really good and they're bright. They're all around $4 each. Need some blues and yellows for kamehameha and aura effects.

You just remove the plugged in plastic cape flaps and glue the top of the cape to the inside of the shoulder piece.

You sort of get the best of both worlds, you keep the structure/sculpt of the shoulder piece but get the fabric cape.

Yeah it's annoying to spend some money to 'fix' the figure, but if, as you say, it would have been an insta-buy otherwise, then it sounds like the $20-ish USD might be worth it for you (it's easy to find on eBay by searching for "piccolo cape").

But, they also might pull a Premium Color Vegeta and release this, then immediately announce an updated Piccolo.
