It takes hiring good engineers and designers to make the figures better. That would increase costs rather than lower them to be able to achieve your next goal in lowering prices. Most likely mcfarlane toys lost a lot of money due to the economic chaos of the past roughly 5 years and is now trying to recoup losses with high prices and heavy reuse. Lowering prices would potentially sink the ship if they really are in monetary peril. Likely stopping platinums and assuring everything got preorders would help attain a larger sell through rate but without deeper information it would be uncertain how much.
