lol just lol. Why does this company absolutely refuse to improve their product to match modern standards?
>>
>>11821983
I mean they’re budget figures, they’re not that bad when you remember that
>>
>>11821983
Those are OK aside from the glasses. What do they retail for?
>>
>>11821996
>overscaled
>$25
>budget
I wish FucMarlane went bankrupt
>>
>>11822004
What's the scale?
>>
>>11821983
They set the modern standards. Unlike imports you can actually play with them, and unlike BLACKED series they're not midgets. These indesputable facts are why (You) and the rest of the faggots on /toy/ feel so insecure about them and constantly need to bark about how much you hate Todd.
>>
>>11822021
>They set the modern standards
Keep dreaming Todd.
>>
>>11822004
25??? these are going to be 35 at least, 50 if they decide to put these in the "collectors" or "elite" editions, and since these look like they have the slightest amount of paint on them, theyre definitely going to be 50.
plus wtf am i going to do with a 7 inch anime figure? it wont scale with anything else.
>>
>>11821983
As usual, Todd can't do anime faces.
>>
Dragon Ball license when?
>>
>>11822004
>>11822036
That's now budget. Figmas cost like $80 even before importing them. being $30 cheaper makes them the much more budget option.
>>
>>11822041
This one actually doesn’t look that bad… probably because his face is mostly covered though
>>
>>11822054
just because its cheaper than figma doesnt mean its "budget"
>>
>>11821983
Have you ever considered that it's not a refusal to try and improve but instead they are flat out incapable of improvement?
>>
>>11822033
Excellent dubs, but when do you suppose was the point where tod went from pioneer to industry lolcow?
>>
>>11821983
jesus todd still sculpts anime characters the same way toy companies did in the early 2000s literally every other company has moved on from that uncanny valley attempt at sculpting anime characters and the others do it way better now
>>
>>11821983
It's just the knees that get me
>>
>>11822033
Keep coping, because you will never be Japanese. The entire nip industry was literally revolutionized by looking at McFarlane's output.
>>

>>11821983
I'm sorry, but these are just bad. Not expecting import quality, but fucking Jazwares of all companies proved good domestic anime figures can be done when a bit of effort is put in. And I'm pretty sure these are $5-10 cheaper than the McFarlanes will be.
>>
>>11821983
It really feels like McFarlane really don't want to do these licenses but grabs them anyways because they're cheap enough and he needs to diversify beyond spawn and batman to stay afloat, but he half ass it so hard just hoping the kids that buy these dont learn about import figures
>>
>>11822127
prob when he made the walking dead figs and his bootleg legos.
>>11822146
that was 25 years ago, the nips are the modern standard now for figs. They took what todd made and improved on it 10 folds just like the nips do with anything, while todd has regressed and is stuck in the past with those god awful face print tech. Cope harder, you'll never be canadian.
>>
>>11821996
>it's budget its fine
meanwhile Jada dropped figures like this for the same price, theres zero excuse for what Todd shits out
>>
File: croc.jpg (42 KB, 720x720)

>>11821996
I don't think anyone considers McFarlane a budget line. Their fans think they are premium and highly detailed figures. Sure they are retards that don't know better but also their recent prices are not indicative of a budget line. Even if it can be called as such, that's still no excuse because even other budget figures have better engineering and pinless joints. The stuff from Jazwares or Jada, or Bandai's budget lines is far better.
>>
>>11821983
Jesus fucking christ. If i didn't know any better, I'd thought it's an shf/figma knockoff. Just look at Momo's knees. Holy shit.
What the fuck is wrong with McFarlane? First, he fucked up dc, then mortal kombat, and now anime.
>>
>>11821983
Welp, the SHF can feel better about herself now.
>>
>>11822051
He's gonna get literally zero sales. The fans are already have so many good figures to choose from between shf and the 100+ 3rd party companies.
>>
>>11821983
Unless there are alt faces/heads with different expressions, these neutral faces are the cherry on top to how bad these are.
>>
>>11821983
I don't get the hate, those look great. Todd really nailed the "cosplayer wearing shitty masks" look. There's already figures of these characters, so going for the "random people wearing bad costumes" approach instead is a genius idea.
>>
>>11822164
>>11822181
T-toddsisters... our response?
>>
>>11821983
Todd wins again.
>>
>>11822051
>kong sized lanky abominations that cost more than the already made budget SHFs
LMAO
>>
>>11822229
GIGA KEK
>>
>>11822229
more like fuzzma
>>
>>11822164
>he thinks that abominable shoulder looks good
Then again it is Slop Fighter. If you had any standards you wouldn't be interested in Slop Fighter in the first place.
>>
>>11821983
Because people keep buying their toys anyway
>>
>>11822229
>flat spoonlike face with printed details
>flat spoonlike face with printed details
>detailed face
All this is telling me is that tranimes are still allergic to noses and consider them a design flaw.
>>
>>11822229
All the money went to paint on the mcfarlane and the engineering budget is literally 0
>>
>>11822550
Only westerners obsessed with realism want their figures to have noses. I for one welcome our noseless overlords.
>>
>>11822549
Because they're the only option for people who can't or haven't realized they could import, seriously the only ones buying these are kids who don't have figma or even Shf money and won't settle for a cheap prize figure instead for some reason, it's the same with how Todd was literally the only option for Batman outside of expensive imports
>>
>>11822054
No it's not. Anime Heroes and Ultimate Legends are respectively lower
>>
>>11821996
Except they aren't cheaper than any other domestic toy company and they suck even by domestic standards..
>>
>>11821983
I like to think it’s a desire to stay as close to a “decent sculpt” without introducing a lot of cuts, while also trying to be highly articulated.

Like if these just added more tolerance/room around the diaper piece and under the torso, then they would be pretty decent figures.

Also fuck their weird 1/10-1/12 scale.
>>
>>11822548
Yawn... post your toys with a message, Glorp
>>
>>11822561
Ignore the /tv/fag, he's retarded
>>
>>11822577
>it's the same with how Todd was literally the only option for Batman outside of expensive imports
Yeah, can't wait for the Mattel ones, MOTU Chronicles are solid
>>
>>11822146
>you will never be Japanese
And you will never be American.
>inb4 Todd-sama invented Pop Up Parade and Revortech because inferior Nihonjin never thought of prastic statue or spheres. Onry superior Gaijin rike Kamitoddsu know sphere capabirity
>>
>>11822557
>All the money went to paint
What money? 2 dollars and a ham sandwich? The paint is fucking horrible especially the skin tones.
>>
>>11822607
But even without joint cuts the sculpts are ugly. And proportions look freakishly tall I guess because of their retarded scale
>>
>>11822229
That figuarts arm looks absolutely ridiculously overengineered and ugly as sin. Figma is the only one that makes sense.
>>
>>11822577
Spinmaster sold Batman figures too and those were affordable. And don't say those are for kids when you see the Mattel core line getting praised everywhere here
>>
>>11822884
>Figma is the only one that makes sense
until you take off the soft goods (cheap see-through shit) and see what demonic shit underneath is. luckily the price of shf is low enough that you can still buy 3rd party soft goods (good quality) and still have money to spare vs figma's 2 hunk of plastic hands tax
>>
>>11822895
What in the goddamn are those shoulders? Figma normally does a good job with schoolgirl-type characters too. It doesn't even look like Figma engineering.
>>
>>11822895
Yeah that's ugly too. Don't take off the soft goods
>>

>>11821996
>>11822054
are you retarded? Storm arena and Jada figures are 30 dollars with the bigger ones being like 35. Those are budget figures that completely shit on the mcfarlane dandadan line. Are we really defending these dogshit figures that look like they were made in 1998? For MCFARLANE???
>>
>>11822903
They've been trying to cut costs wherever they can. Literally sent a survey out a while back asking buyers what they could cut and how much they'd still be willing to pay.
>>
>>11822934
Toys are returning from whence they came. Get all you can now, for in a few decades there will be no more. One more example of the toy market collapsing: >>11822161
>>
>>11822895
>Split figure into parts
>ROOOK! SO LOUSY!!! NIPPON BAD!!!
>>
>>11822895
I mean, it's a shame you can't get rid of the sweater and have a perfectly functional body under it.
But I don't see what about this is so damning about the Figma?
>>
>>11821996
Budget figures.
Trying to scam customers.
The product looks THIS bad.
What the actual fuck....honestly mcfartline should just close shop. They prove time and time again they produce garbage. Why not focus on making a few actual good figures that would sell and get praise rather than producing a mountain full of star wars Rose ching chong toys
>>
>>11822998
The problem is these bad figures do sell. McFarlane produces such low quantities now that not too many figures truly shelf warm, even $60 abominations like Elite Editions
>>
>>11822150
These things are fucking great for their price.
I mean they aren't Figuarts quality, but they actually look like someone tried and are a perfect price point for characters I want but don't really consider favorites either.
Just wish they released more.
>>
>>11822229
Why the soft good top? She wouldn't even fit in with other Figma.
>>
>>11822986
if this is what you got out of the post, you're a lost cause. or really brown. same thing
>>11822990
because the actual figure underneath is also badly designed. like I mentioned earlier, the only thing saving Figma is the cheap soft goods hiding the badly designed joints and like I also mentioned, if you bothered to read, you can buy the figuarts AND third-party soft goods of high quality and still have spare money to spend compared to the price of the Figma.
>>
>>11821983
>Todd announces these
>hours before news break that importing to the US is basically over
Todd wins again, enjoy your domestically made McFarlane figures as your one and only option for anime characters forever!
>>
>>11823091
What's badly designed? Doesn't it work? Is it fragile?
Because it doesn't matter what it looks like if you're never supposed to see it.

>>11823050
Figma designers saw a Chinese clothes mod was being used on shf Momo to greatly improve her range and look and decided to just do that rather than engineer a way for her shirt to look good articulated.

what if we want it to look like the source material instead of a fucking mannequin, cletus?
>>
>>11823198
I swear they have done girls with similar clothes well as Figma in the past.
>>
>>11823200
Why is she so pink? I'm surprised mcfarlane made this given he should know it would never sell at US retail
>>
>>11822998
And the thigh upgrades
>>
>>11823130
>I-Importing is totally over!
>For real this time!
>Trust me, this time bro!
>Just two more weeks bro!
Nothing. Ever. Happens.
>>
>>11823200
>that face
I'll give Todd this, he makes good fucked up horror versions of anime characters jesus fucking christ
>>
>>11823208
I believe they’ve only done full cloth outfits for Styles, otherwise just a few cloth skirts for their licensed characters. Oh, and the Love Is War cloth sacks, lel
>>
>>11823281
Importing is over for me. I won't buy from a store that doesn't ship from the US again just due to all the bullshit and anxiety it causes. Gradually it'll happen to more and more people.
