I finally know the joy of standing a figure in front of a brick wall. Should I paint it orange as an homage to my number one fan's alley display?

>>11825544A gang of gangbusters is known as a gangbang
>>11825544nice. I’m Gangbustanon and even I only bought two.
I was at Target and saw a couple shopping together in the toy aisle. They went to the McFarlane section in the regular aisle then went to check the Collector's section. They kept watching me and looking at my hands to see what I was holding so I moved to the Lego section to watch them from a distance. They didn't pick up anything from the shelves.Freddy and Black Freddy. Some Batmans. The Mongul and Superman pack.
>>11825593the consensus is that these beast kingdom figures suck, right

Better pic of the Absolute figures. Not my thing and not bothering with the line at all anymore this close to the end, but looks like Todd at least put some effort into them.

Is there really no one else willing to make a good DC General?
>>11825889Not really.

>>11826106I still don't quite understand the value of an op image and how it affects the overall thread or any potential discussions that may be had. Sure, I see the importance of listing the upcoming releases or other pieces of significant information that might be handy to know. Never once understood why it has to be one anon and only that anon who starts a new thread either. Is there a vote to decide who creates a new thread and which image is used and what information is posted in the op? Idk man, I just come here to chill out and possibly see some neat oc or say a few things about whatever catches my attention. Im a fairly well read fan of DC comics and I enjoy action figures and other things related to DC comics, so that's why I come here and that's what I'd like to see here, just anons talking about DC comics and toys made of them. Maybe I'm expecting too much, or maybe I'm just coming to wrong place to enjoy DC stuff.
>>11826126I think people just want the OP to not be such a shitpost every time. Like you said, listing upcoming release info is great. Other threads do it, SHF, Dragon Ball, Marvel, TMNT, Lego. It's just kind of the way things are done around here. It feels like the OP doesn't do it just to be spiteful.

WWE ultimates with ball joint waist.
Marvel legends DC.
Cheaper.
Wired capes.
>>11826636Mattel is more than that. But DC as a license is expensive. People will pay a premium for new DC collectibles soon, anon.
>>11826648See you at comic con.

>>11826664>WWE Ultimates have ball joint waists now.Almost like they’re implementing them across all their collector lines
>>11826636So literally the dc line is literally this?
>>11826657Low or high?
>>11826670There's no reason to include the 'Elite' type body in the mix, must as well just be Ultimate/Chronicles all the way through.
>>11826670Metaphorically speaking?
>>11826672>>11826673Hypothetically
>>11826670Horde the McFarlanes, we will never see their like again.
>>11826677Yes, this would be ideal if they want to stick to this format. We'll get a first look at them soon, if they're as good as Chronicles (and I'd assume they'd be even better by the time of release, and I'd likewise expect Chronicles to have better range of movement at that point) it's going to be a very good line. Only remaining question would be how will the price look, accessories, things like capes, etc. If they have an Ultimate price point line that could be the place to have wired capes, assuming the regular collector figures won't feature them.
>>11826681You realize that "Ultimate" Cody figure looks pretty bad though right? What a weird ass face sculpt and horrible "paint" on the chest.
I’m fine with this. Most figures just need overlays and chest emblems anyway. If there’s a third tier for a deluxe with unique sculpting that can trinkle down to the regular line then that’s fine.
>>11826683Mattel’s real world faces are hit or miss. They have 3d scans of all their wrestlers so it’s the paint that’s the issue which is funny when you realize they’ll cover a figure in accurate tattoos
This means those kids lines figures will work perfectly with the collector line. Bane, joker, Mr freeze and killer croc (could use a wash) could be a one and done cheap purchase with left over figures to give away or use as fodder.
>>11826696Unless you want the figures to, you know, pose like collectibles and not kids toys.
>>11826683Not about the Cody figure, just the format of the figure + articulation. The ideal I'm talking about it basically 1 basic line and 1 collectors line. Whether that collectors line ends up good or not is a different story, but that's basically what I'm trying to say.
>>11826699Homie they’re all going on a shelf most likely in a museum pose or in the most basic of action poses the require very little articulation anyway. Look at Jarret’s display as an example.

>>118268177 inches killed the line before it started
>>11826830>7in is too tallthis means all the marvel legend bafs don't pose well either given they're 7 inch scale
>>11826843They’re engineered to do so from inception. Todd’s team takes a sculpt a freelancer makes and apply their house articulation scheme.
>>11826853Explain your fucking reason you goddamn retard, any action figure can pose except hot toys because they're faggot ass dolls like what mezco makes
Pose harder, DC general
>>11826843Most don't, many are just giant bricks that have to keep both feet on the ground due to their weight. There are some exceptions like Demogoblin. On the extreme other end, ttry doing anything dynamic with The Void without stands and he'll topple like a Jinga tower.
>>11826823>>11826830>>11826831>>11826841genuinely not a problem. learn to play with toys. wasn't a problem when anyone else, including mattel, does 7inch. seek help.
>>11826870The Mattel Masterverse at 7in with both thigh and boot cuts are sort of an exception unless they're really heavy characters. McFarlanes usually do not have thigh and boot cuts though
>>11826670>shaved, growing, full-chestI like these options
>>11826873Todd has done 6 inch fingers and they have awful joints. I think there's either a tech, legal, or contractual issue that holds Mcfarlane back on articulation. Target has a sale on toys so I picked up some of the Spinmaster Superman movie toys they're trying to get of. Had to order Guy online and he came in today.
It's just not safe in Gotham anymore....
>>11828021The Lex figures in power armor and the playset with the yeti that breaks apart make me wonder if we'll ever get a director's cut with deleted scenes. It comes with Ultraman and Gary so I wonder if there was a scene where a yeti escaped and Ultraman ripped it apart, that'd tie in with Superman's line about taking the kaiju to a zoo. I also like the idea of stray yeti just roaming around outside the Fortress.
>>11828028Awesome!
I love being around other high caliber nerds, it's like the only time I get to relax and put all my energy into hiding this madness behind a door that refuses to stay shut.
>>11828082Me too.
>>11828015It's on a different date in some countries. We have it in September in Australia, but we still have Mother's Day at the he same time as America. I think it was to avoid having Father's Day in crappy winter weather.
>>11828089How do you keep your figures from falling off your shelves into space?
>>11828128We don't use shelves. We just store our figures in kangaroo pouches.
Holy shit. Day one purchase. Mafex can't stop winning.
>>11828215Cape and skirt confirmed as removable.
>>11828215Is this look from something in particular? Why the white squares on the side of the boots?
>>11828234It's from the Superman For Tomorrow storyline. This and the newly announced Superman 1.5 are technically from that story arc. The new Superman is just Hush Supes, washed out colors and all, with some new accessories. I kinda want the base to go with Black Hush Batman but I think Superman is an easy skip if you already have the Hush version.
>>11825544Still no smiling Supes. Come on. I thought they were gonna that. Also Wonder Woman with a cute side would have been cool.
>>11828249Smiling head comes with Clark.
>>11828215>>11828219Looks pretty good, but, man, those seams in the torso are an eyesore.
>>11827973I unironically started reading Starman because all the shitposting gave me a 'if you cant beat them might as well join them' mentality
Better shot of Wondy with the soft goods removed.
>>11828267Good choice.
>>11828271I can't believe that there are people out there that consider the McFarlane Wonder Woman to be good when options like this exist.
>>11827971Grim when a sale price on DCMV is 18 bucks and its a swap anyway
>>11828286It seems good for the price. How much is that Mafex?
>>11828291Price doesn't matter when you are looking for the best of something. Buy once, cry once.
>>11828271Fuggo
>>11828293"Best" is relative, you elitist asshole. :)
>>11828271Mafex is subtly bad at female headsculpts
>>11828297Not always. And it's certainly better than the McFarlane.
>>11827933Hasbro and mcfarlane showed them they could get away with it
>>11828286it wasn’t an option and as of now still isn’t an option
>>11828300So you're basically saying "best is relative, except when it isn't." Makes a lot of sense there.
>>11828238>Superman For TomorrowFuck. I get why they're doing it. Hush was Jim Lee doing Batman while For Tomorrow was Jim Lee on Superman but while Loeb had Batman fight a bunch of classic villains, Azzarello had Superman hang out with a priest for 12 issues. Wonder Woman is like the most exciting character that shows up.
>>11828338It'll be an option in a few hours when it goes up for pre-order.
>>11828361Why is this not available on Amiami yet?
>>11828361Can’t wait for Matty to mog this overpriced weeb garbage.
>>11828364Well, not really, because it doesn't release until April next year and that's if there's a miracle and there are no delays.
>>11828373What?
>>11828381Did you not fucking hear what I just said?
>>11828386You posted a text based response, so no. I read it.
>>11828388
>>118283612 expensive
>>11828267>shitpostingJack was delayed for like a year at the exact same time as Todd lost the license and the release of new figures throughout the rest of the year was "lol maybe idkkk"I've seen threads where people talk about living the rest of their lives wishing that last figure in the line had been released and all they have is a jpg of a grey prototype of their favorite characterYou get to the Phantom Lady issue yet?
>>11828397Superman's heads are all trash and they keep using that bright pastel yellow on his costume. Hyped for someone to 3d scan the giant eagle base and post the stl though
That mafex wonder woman looks decent, until you take the cape off. >>11828271See what I mean? >>11828267Jack is okay, you should really get into prince gavyn. He is cooler..
>>11828404Yeah that's the main thing I'd get the new one for, so I'm skipping it. I just want the base since I think it'd be cool to recreate those Jim Lee covers with Batman and Superman. I already have the base for Batman
>>11828411That makes no sense. Just wait for someone to scan it and you can print your own for like fifty cents in resin.
>>11828215Mafex hasn't stopped losing since InArt and LPZZ stepped into the ring.I'll wait for one of them to make WW.
>don't buy domestic slop just wait for the Mafex!
>>11828420I didn't really phrase that clearly, sorry. The only reason for me to get the new Mafex would be the base, I already have the Hush version. So I'm skipping this new one exactly for the reason you stated. I'll just 3D print it when someone scans and uploads it. I have my printer so it would be no big deal.
You will buy my figure now right anon? I even smile!
>>11828361Standard price for mafex.......went up?
>>11828501I already have him pre-ordered. I was planning on buying Clark and Bruce anyway when they showed them off back at whatever convention. The fact that they come with DLC parts for the Batman and Superman figures I already own is just bonus. Stoked to finally get a smiling head for Superman.
>>11828508Looking at HLJ, they're the same price as Punisher is right now. I'm curious to see what Amiami puts them up for later tonight. Kinda surprised they haven't been put up yet tbqh.
DKR Superman remains the best Superman figure ever
>>11828215>>11828219>>11828249>>11828271>>11828361LMFAOI’ll wait for Mattel
don't usually collect dc stuff, only really super into Batman and I got the mafex hush, also mainly because everything macfarlane has shat out has been actual trash, but I just had to say, all of this for 13 bucks? thats genuinely insane, how does mattel do it? tempted to grab some if I see them in the wild.
>>11828623Double jointed knees with no ankle stuff is such a weird choice.
>>11828633It’s for vehicles
>>11828517So $125 is a rather standard price then? I'd be more comfortable with $80. What makes them $125? I obviously don't own any mafex and I'm just curious why they are on the higher end of action figure pricing. I know people will pay it but is there any "special" about them? I'm not being an asshole, I'm just curious what people who do own mafex think about their figures.
>>11828652Overpriced. Check Amazon for reasonable prices
>>11827976
>>11828652Nothing. It’s not like they blow Figuarts or Revoltech out of the water or something. They’re standard Japanese action figures. It’s just that, when it comes to DC specifically, they’re better than some other options. But $130 for that Wonder Woman is bonkers, fuck off.
>>11828669
>>11828652We'll see what Amiami puts them up for. Punisher there is $77 before shipping while he's $93 at HLJ like Wonder Woman currently is. BBTS may be pretty standard pricing after shipping though, so it may not really matter.
>>11828652>What makes them $125Shipping costs. BBTS accounts for the cost of shipping into the price. It used to be that with the Yen to USD exchange, importing would still be cheaper, but now with the added tariffs and shit it works out to be about the same.
Reminder ALL toys are imported
The anime model kit of Wonder woman is the only good figure of her because every other one is so fucking ugly
>>11828689Mezco looks good enough. The best Wonder Woman figure currently is power princess.
>>11828652Brand wars. Mafex is the apple of the toy industry
>>11828652>So $125 is a rather standard price then?for poorfag americans yes you need to fund those wars in the middle east after all
>>11828706Mafex are really generic for imports. They're almost like the Marvel Legends of imports. You can find many companies who do it worse and many who do it better.
Guys I’ve run the numbers and any version of Batman that is half measured is shit. So essentially brave and the bold, btas, begins and Batman v Superman are the only good characterizations.
>>11828669Mafex's most soulful and kino line.
>>11828772just a wholesome gluppo shitterino
I just looked it up and Mcfarlane has made over a 1000 dc releases in 6 years while Mafex has 100 in the past 15.
>>11828215>>11828219Are Mafex figures slime proof? Asking for a friend.
>>11828786Nobody gives a shit
>>11828772I maintain a neck swap, trunks swap and if possible a boot swap would look sick on that supes.
>>11828793That's crazy! I wonder what Mafex would do if they had the master license?
>>11828623What are the discs supposed to be? Landmines, bat-frisbees?
>>11828807Landmines which is kind of dark considering these are made in Vietnam.
>>11828804Here
If you had your own toy company and could only license one DC story arc/tv show/movie what would it be? For me it'd be Filmation Aquaman and every figure comes with a sea creature to help Aquaman.
>>11828816The Flash easily.
>>11828819CW?
>>11828830The Waid run
>>11828830Adding to this>>11828837if if I had to do anything live action it’d be shipp flash
>>11828838This actually wouldn’t be a bad idea for a small company. You get one main wave and could have flash repaints. Shit small one wave legacy lines would be amazing for Carter WW and Reeve Superman
>>11828816Batman Hush
>>11828676And she's $77 on Amiami before shipping. That's where I'm getting her. Even with shipping it works out to about the same if not a couple dollars cheaper still than BBTS. Plus I don't have to put down a deposit.
Two bat pods! Two kits, more accurately.Big one in the back is from MS General, it's listed as 1/10 and comes with an anime Catwoman model. Not a very good Catwoman, between you and me. Both the girl and the bike are stylized and amped up, not very authentic but there's a ton of detail in there. Thinking about hitting it with some red and giving it to my Arkham Knight. Every part on it is articulated though not all of them very well. The other pod is the 1/12 model kit from Modoking. Specifically the one that came with their camo tumblr, which right now I have MAFEX Bane driving around. Not very articulated, it can't really turn and it definitely can't do any of the crazy shit like rolling sideways. But one thing it *can* do is disassemble and plug into the tumbler's undercarriage! I haven't done it yet, but it looks pretty neat in the instruction manual. The tumbler is also very good. Feels very substantial, for a model kit.
Guys I’ve been thinking way too hard about Batman and he’s a terrible character that shouldn’t exist. Bruce Wayne should be green lantern instead.
>>11828943But without Batman how would we ever get Nightwing
>>11828945We wouldn’t. I imagine Bruce would be off earth and never meet dick. Perhaps dick would eventually die and become deadman.
>>11828958>>11828958>>11828958
>>11828945>>11828959Or nightwing would be that earths “Batman” independent of having ever met Bruce. >parents murdered>starts training >eventually dawns a suit>na na na na nightwing
>>11828962Dick got the idea from Superman cause he told him Kandor had it's own Batman and Robin named Nightwing and Flamebird.
>>11828816I would buy Filmation Arthur. But I'm probably one of the few people here who bought a few of the Superfriends figuresI'd like to see an entire set of non-barwank animation related toys. I'd even want to see things for the Showcase animation shorts. Like the Quality characters. And that Spectre or Catwoman with the whip. And the DC Nation bumpers.
>>11828076Snyder really should have gone with long ears for the JL cowl.
