We’ve heard that Target is rethinking their support of NECA Ulitmates and how much to carry. I don’t remember seeing an in-store sale like this in the past? Might be winding down the line and testing the numbers. Then again I’ve rarely been to single Target that had two figures I wanted at the same time…

The article makes it seem like a big deal for Ad Populum but then you read what other assets the other companies have and it seems like a raw deal for them. They only own the IP in Canada, and they're losing 11 of the 38 stores operating in the country. (Putnam Investments could choose to license the brand through Ad Populum past January of next year but I think that's unlikely as they can just convert the stores to another brand in their portfolio. They likely absorbed those stores because of location and profitability, not for the Toys r Us model.) This doesn't seem like much of a win for them at the moment, but it could bear fruit down the line if they're able to get control over more of the assets as the company is picked apart through bankruptcy.
