Don't fall for bait or feed the trolls.
Reposting this here. I was really looking forward to this but it ended up being really disappointing. I don't care that much about the price, it would've been worth it to me if it came with good accessories and combination potential. But it doesn't. There's not a single new thing here, everything is recycled from some other clone.
>>11853742What is the price point? Really, though, if it's meant to be an army builder, than having anything higher than standard price already defeats that purpose.
>>11853756Like $60. And I agree, the $40 2 packs were much better for army building and made more sense.I guess it was supposed to be the Star Wars version of picrel but it totally fails. I don't know anything about GI Joe but it looks like you can make some cool loadouts for the figure. But with the clone, the arc trooper gear is incomplete and doesn't match anything or make sense lore wise. And everyone already has a bunch of those blasters, they offer nothing new. There's all kinds of in universe clone weapons and gear that would've been cool to have but nope. Guess I will just stick to 3D printing accessories.
>>11853734What a dead franchise
>>11853742I don't hate the idea necessarily but it's the execution maybe that isn't working. It feels like this is meant to be something for customizers and I like that approach for it. I would have nixed all of the unmaksed heads and DC-17m in favor of the soft goods kama and holsters and a jetpack. And maybe the hologram for a detonator/droid popper.
>>11853795As a customizer, no this is useless and a waste of money. There is a healthy community of 3D print artists that have made a lot of better and far more useful accessories which you would be better off utilizing for whatever clone you want to make and there’s cheaper ways to get a 3.0 clone body.
>>11853734Mousecuck sloppa
>>11853817Yes I'm aware of that but not everybody else is. There are also still people out there that are adamant about only using Hasbro or molded/injected parts for their customs and not 3D printed stuff.
Sweet Christmas
>>11853832>that shit ass attempt at head articulationJesus why even bother?
>>11853832what the fuck
>>11853832yeaaaaaaaaaaah boi
>>11853742I’ve been planning a custom Fordo and this actually has a lot that could help with that as long as it’s on the most updated clone body. It still has to be cost-effective because I’d be cannibalizing it for parts, though. So it can’t be much over $30.
>>11853771Oof $60 is wild
>>11853842You can see a hinge under the base of the neck, and a swivel at the top. So the head articulation actually seems fine.
I picked up Galen, what a seriously awesome figure. I tried to swap on a green lightsaber blade but it’s one with a notch on the lightsaber blade.
>>11853889Yea I am curious to see if they will have a sample this weekend to show it off. I think the break of the sculpt is a bit odd when the head is turned, but that's mainly because every Amanaman figure has always just had a solid, unjointed head and neck so I'm just not used to it. But I appreciate the functionality, especially since these things actually moved on screen instead of being basically statues in the background.
>>11854367>this loser actually watched the """movie"""
>>11854419 I saw it 3 times. Twice in IMAX. And I bought the AT-AT popcorn bucket. You mad?
>>11853832Finally, some fucking food for my Jabba's throne room.
I was wondering something. All those people who just come and complain about the ownership of Star Wars. Why.. And where do they draw the line. Because the Mouse owns everything now. Everything that was ever included in the ip including those first promissory boxes. Or, is it a specific manufacturing date of hate? If so go create a "vintage star wars toys" where you and those with similar interests can share the love of what you proport to love. Or do you need that bitterness so you can live? Genuinely wondering.
I want to swap Fordo’s arms onto the 2023 Phase 1 clone body, does anyone know if this will work or any adjustments I’d need to make?
>>11854694*2024
>>11854687The way I've learned to live with it is to just mentally divorce myself from looking at the current stuff as really being Star Wars. Star Wars to me is the OT, the prequels and all the Expanded Universe media that came out until the Disney buyout. I don't even hate all the new stuff; I thought Andor and Shadowlord were great. But not looking at any of the current canon as 'my' Star Wars really takes the sting out of it when they fuck up.
>>11854687I still like Star Wars, I just ignore everything I dislike, i.e iPhone stormtroopers. Couldn't give less fucks about what corpo fucks me in the ass, it's inevitable anyway in these days.
>>11854687Doesn't matter who owns it, Star Wars is ultra dead. It farts along at retail and isn't bringing in new blood. It's beyond a dinosaur of an IP.
>>11854687Personally I only consider the Lucas stuff to be true Star Wars. I regard the Disney stuff the same way I did the EU: some of it's cool, some of it's crap, but none of it's the true Star Wars.I don't think anyone here genuinely likes Disney but the dudes that come here screaming about Disney are just baiting and don't actually care, half the time they can't even tell if something is Disney or not.
New stuff from the fan breakfast
>>11855077
>>11855081
>>11855085
>>11855077This is abysmal. The uncanny valley on the figure looks awful, just give us actual retro kenner figures and vehicles along with unproduced ones and new stuff in that style.
>>11855077>>11855193Holiday Special colors Luke when?
>>11855091>dog + cloth robesNot surprised that this was coming along.
>>11855193Wait, THATS what it's supposed to be? Modern stuff in the retro style??Who would actually want that?? Genuine question, because I wouldn't.Yeah I agree, either do reproduction of the original stuff, or... Well actually I'm NOT gonna say to do new stuff in the retro style, because I ALWAYS see them rot on pegs, even at discount stores!
>>11855077Yea, I don't really understand this. It's the complete antithesis of what TVC is supposed to be. Why not just release an X-Wing for the Retro collection?
>>11855455>>11855513People like seeing modern figures with retro paint schemes or packaging. Everyone always groans when they do more retro collection because most people don't want reissues of ancient 5 POAs. They are always pegwarmers. But some things work better than others. Boba Fett in the Holiday Special paint scheme for example is cool and Micro Galaxy Squadron is doing a retro Slave I which people also liked. But this Luke and X Wing for example just looks boring and unpainted.
>>11855534Yeah the boba is understandable, as it's a unique color scheme of the character, but this? Well I guess it would make for good custom fodder.....
>>11855534>People like seeing modern figures with retro paint schemes or packaging.Well based on the social chatter, most people don't want this at all and either think it should have been a Retro release or spent the budget to give us an actual TVC Red 3 X-Wing and Biggs figure. Vehicles are few and far between in this line now as it is, so it's really a shame that they wasted a slot for this.
Those newer reveals of black series all suck
>>11853894Isn't it weird they opted for bloody bits on him?
>>11856230Honestly there isn't anything they've shown that's been worth the time. It's even worse if it's mando bullshit. That ship sunk. Stop making toys from it already.
>>11855077>That'll be $120 please
Mr. Stevie did a poll asking if people liked stuff like this X-wing and the results were an overwhelming "NO". Lol.
>>11855091If they reissue this in TCW colors I might consider it
>>11855091Glad I didn’t buy the single packaged figure, phew.
>>11856251It’s like that in game, the outfit is his “training gear” the description in game is: This simple but functional outfit, originally provided by Darth Vader, has survived numerous training sessions and dangerous missions.I kind of took that to mean that Vader’s training is very brutal and Starkiller is always being wounded by Vader or Proxy in training duels or missions.
>>11855081What Doctor Who enemy is this?
>>11853894Man I miss him so much. Everything of the Starkiller’s journey was done so right. An apprentice of the dark side that turns to light
>>11856606I think they're supposed to be scars in game. On the figure it just looks like blood. Should've molded the mark in like lines instead.
>>11856919Gay, Give me Jabba
I wonder if we will see new Bespin Luke in either scales today. Jacen from the 2 pack has all the parts from the duel 2 pack retooled for a clean version so it's only a matter of time>>11856919lol>>11856925They already made Jabba like a year or two ago
>>11856919Another warehouse shelfwarmer.
>>11856925They've already released a TBS Jabba like three times already
>>11856919I didn't expect this but now I kinda want it.
>>11855077I'm buying this. This is the first SW save for retro collection reissue figures that I've been willing to buy in years. And I suspect that it's a teaser to a lot of stuff like this for next year's 50th anniversary. The Luke figure looks boring, and looks like a reissue of the Vintage/Saga collection they put out in the 2006-1012 area.
>>11856919Ollie's welcomes you
>>11856919what are we betting on price? $80? $100?
>>11857066I think I saw $80 somewhere. The ROTJ 40th Jana was $90 and you got the hookah thing and I think Salacious Crumb as well
>>11857066$130. Easily. Overpriced Disney failure toy in today's post economic collapse world?
Who’s ready to be disappointed!?
>>11857553Isn’t being disappointed and complaining the actual hobby?
Nobody posting the reveals?
>>11857619Just started for vintage Super battle droidBattle droidObi
>>11857619>>11857624Pademe
And anakinAll episode 2
Thank you for beta testing Jesse 1.0, please repurchase the figure you already own so you can acquire the helmet he should have always come with!
>>11857641OOF! That face is awful!
>>11857646They specifically talked about how good it was.
>>11857644Since when does vintage get swappable hands!
>>11857641>>11857646>>11857647I actually don’t think the face is that bad, but the hair looks really weird
>>11857641lol wtf
>finally make a new belly Padme>her face is fucked up and looks awful
>nothing but disney shitit's over, I'm fucking done
>>11857638>somehow made Hayden Christensen look like Justin Bieber
Disney made episode 2?
>>11857644How are the sculpts getting worse?
>>11855081>that imageI hate dissney with burning passion.
I try to find something to be positive about usually but honestly this stream was so boring everything just felt like slop we already have>>11857644No fucking way they actually fucked up the knees AGAIN after everyone complained XD>>11857646The regular one has a great face, all they had to do was change the hair. I’m thinking this has to be a hand painted sample and the final will look better
Are we done with Black Series reveals?>>11857702I REALLY wish we got this Ventress in Black Series. Thinking of doing a custom with Bariss Offee
>>11857708Done with? Were there any?
Oh god I hate those new black series boxes they look so ugly and cheap. The current ones were perfect. And I know some people were asking for that Queen Amidala but it’s probably gonna be like a $40 boring statue that comes with zero accessories that you can’t pose or do anything with because she doesn’t do anything in the movie…
Meeeeeh
>>11857649Since Dark Times Darth Vader came out like 4 years ago.
>>11857711If they don't put in any accessories then they better at least make her light up. That's like the iconic thing about that dress.
>>11857742Anon be for real she’s not gonna be light up…
God damn, I hope next year is the end of Retro Collection. All that shit coming out when it should just be money spent on TVC instead.
New packaging
>>11857811Finally, first appearance amidala. This will be the first PreoOrder Ive put down on a Black Series in 3 years.
>>11857811Hate it
Eyy, Jacen and Jaina shipped. Need everyone's advice, should I cancel Carth and Mission and count on them getting a discount at some point on Amazon?
>>11857708>I REALLY wish we got this Ventress in Black Series. Thinking of doing a custom with Bariss OffeeSame, I was super excited when I saw the 2-pack, then deflated when it was Vintage Collection. I am happy for the Vintage Collection collectors though, looks awesome! Fingers crossed for more Black Series Genndy Clone Wars stuff in the future.
>>11857646>>11857699Face looks fine in the video they posted on Pulse. It's the same one as what we got earlier this year.
>>11857878>>Padme Tumidalayes please
>>11857878Why is the hair down on the one side like that? It never looked like that… it throws it all off.
>>11857878still looks like shit
>>11857878That is actually just awful
>>11857811How did they manage to make the packaging even more boring and lifeless?
>>11857905>>11857908I can tell you guys didn't buy the last Padme figure.
>>11857910Reminds me of episode one packaging
>>11857901I think it's supposed to be the strand that's hanging down after she gets knocked off the Oray and she and Anakin are taking cover in the chariot. But obviously it's hard to convey hair like that at this scale so they had to thicken and stylize it a bit.
>>11856372>That ship sunk. Stop making toys from it already. It did well enough in merch sales that Hasbro made note of it in their Q2 report.
>>11858051>It did well enough in merch salesBuuuuullshit
What were the black series reveals? Were there any?
>>11857646>>11857647>>11857663Yeah I agree with >>11857699, I don't see how the face can be worse than the previous version. Must be a render thing or something like that. Both Padme's seem good in their own way, but I don't think I will get this one, because I already have the previous one.>>11857693>>11857697Hell yeah, single carded droids!>>11857637>>11856919Is the TVC just straight up better than the BS in every way!? Looks like TVC has an extra joint on the bottom of the belly, AND at the neck?>11857668Damn, the guy that doesn't own toys can't tell what's Disney era, what a shock...>>11857711Looks like it's cloth, so she might actually have articulation? All in all, TVC stuff looks good.
>>11855077 Honestly in some ways this a better TOY design than the full-sized 1/18 Cylon raider. I mean the Raider is cool as fuck but it's also from what I can see at least bigger than the old Falcon. Spend a little bit more effort in the detailing and there we go.
>>11855229 I want coked out Leia. and a special edition "pop out of her outfit" Slave Leia.
>>11858253The raider is scaled down btw
>>11858190Yeah you can find them if you look around. Stuff from Maul show, Talzin, Ahsoka and Jesse pack, and Rotta>>11858195It is cloth and she will be fully articulated. But what’s the point? What poses will you put her in? All she does in that dress is stand or sit. And I doubt the figure can actually sit from the way they described how they engineered the dress, not that there is a throne for her anyway.
Holy fuck the new Padme has a wrist hinges. Thank the gods they finally figured out how to do that on females again
>>11858384Fat hands. Jesus what a mess.
>>11858195They said the BS version has a squishy belly and skeleton underneath so that they wouldn't let have to break it up into segments. The eyes and mouth also move. It's a cool idea but I would be worried about the integrity of it down the road. I'm kinda glad the TVC didn't copy it in that aspect. Even the bendy tail on that one has me a bit worried.
>>11857641 Good gravy. that's terrible.
>>11857766 I am so sick of companies releasing "nostalgia figures" - All of this "re-action" shit. I didn't want these when I was shoplifting the figures as a kid and I certainly don't want to buy them now. I want toys I can play with - with articulation and detail and also accessories that I can use to expand the characters - and my play.
>>11857878 Isn't that the hair from the Agent's of SHIELD character?
>>11858384 Christ those hands are terrible. The wrists are HUGE.
>>11858384>those wrists Perfect for 3 3/4 handjobs.
It's just more Disney shit, when are we getting actual Star Wars stuff?
>>11858710It's dead, man.
what are these proportionswhy do her hands almost reach her knees
>>11858844This is such a weird figure because some parts of it look like they put some real effort and some parts look so half-assed, it feels like two separate teams did different parts of it and didn't coordinateAlso both of the Rotta figures seem to have a rubber lower body/tail, and the TVC one already looks cracked and deteriorating in the promo pics
>>11858844besides the weird proportions it lokks rather nice, might get this one
>>11858844WOW, I was *just* asking for a mother Talzin figure last thread >>11838648 I couldn't be more excited for this.
>>11858844I think this is a good use of hard plastic and soft fabric parts>>11858878>mfw still no fallen order merrin
>>11858844>>11858855They were hyping her up talking about the texture detail and stuff but they reused someone's shitty old pin joint knees so yeah it's half assed. I don’t know if the proportions are too off, she has a weird design in the show but it’s hard to tell with how her costume is. Still I think the silhouette of the figure doesn’t match the character model, something is off>>11859028Not one gaming greats reveal was really disappointing. That’s mainly what I look forward to now.
Will they reveal more Black Series stuff?>>11858844This is nice although her arms look off.
>>11858844Ick. They keep fucking up these new figures
>>11858855A literal turd
any cool new droids?
>>11859054>Still I think the silhouette of the figure doesn’t match the character model, something is offIt's the proportions. It's not just her arms, her torso is weirdly small which is noticeable because her model makes it look like she's wearing a fairly thick outfit. Add to that, she has an incredibly long neck and she's overall very skinny and lanky. The show model's only real proportional weirdness was that her head seemed elongated, even without the context of her hair. Besides that, she was normally proportioned just very tall for a woman.I think for whatever reason the Black Series team has a very hard time translating stylized animated designs into realistic ones and don't seem to have a good grasp on which parts of the design are just innate to the art style (i.e. TCW characters as a whole look very skinny compared to live action) and which parts are meant to be part of the character's intended design.
>>11859322her hair isn't flush with her shoulders so either the toy photographer forgot to push her head all the way in or they really fucked up and she's just got floating hair
>>11859335I didn't even notice that. I did a quick and dirty fix, turns out lowering her head so that the hair rests on her shoulders does a lot to help. The neck and torso don't look so weird, the arms are still lanky but if you were to drill holes to make the pegs deeper so that they're further into the sleeve it does help mitigate it a bit.
MAFEX Bossk
>>11859424Wow actual hands made for holding his rifle. Who would've thought!
>>11859335That's actually some kind of hood.
Talzin gives me hope that we'll finally get a TCW Hondo
>>11859424Never coming out
>>11859441As opposed to… what? Every figure that holds a gun comes with gun holding hands
You can deluxe lick my ass for that price. Have they lost their goddamn minds?
>>11859996First day as a Star Wars collector? It'll go on clearance, they always do
>>11859996What is deluxe about this figure exactly
>>11860052Big purple dingus
Wait, that is it for Black Series then?Huh, well I guess that is for the best. I need to save up money anyway.
>>11860072For some reason no one's posted but Black Series got a good number of reveals https://www.toyark.com/2026/07/24/sdcc-2026-official-hasbro-star-wars-black-series-and-vintage-collection-photos-and-info-595467
>>11860052Slightly more plastic than a regular figure
>>11860077>For some reason no one's posted but Black Series got a good number of revealsbecause it's all disney shit only shills like you can get excited for it
>>11860077Thanks!Ah, nothing that really interests me, but still good to know.>>11860132On that topic: I thought Mother Talzin was from EU. Am I getting her mixed up with someone else? I could have sworn I had a Star Wars mini of her (that original minifigure game series from years ago) that looked like her. Maybe I'm getting my signals crossed here with a different Nightsister.
>>11860077Because the line is dead
>>11860158Nevermind, I found it. Similar looking, but not the same.
>>11859882As opposed to literally every Bossk figure never being able to. Because they give him basically just open hands or never had the articulation for it.
My Thrawn trilogy pack has finally arrived and I got to say, it was a good first experience with the black series line. Thinking about ironing out Luuke's cape but I also kinda like the ragged look like this. Joruus is highly photogenic and Mara Jade is a great figure apart from the extra head, which I can't connect for the life of me, and I'm scared to apply even more force. My only problem is with Luke, he's too lanky, I know he was like this in ROTJ but I think he needs a dark background for him to look good. Also, he's the hardest to pose without looking zesty. All in all, I got a great deal so I can't complain about the price, but after playing with them for a while, I can't justify spending more than 20€ on a figure, so Kyle Katarn and Vader will have to wait for a decent sale. Now I need some bases so they're more secure. Should I just get them from Ali/Temu?
>>11853734>only one TVC figure im remotely interested in at all was announcedFake and gayAlso i actually really want that roleplay blacked series thermal detonator. Is their any good videos online that show off its sound effects features because the only videos i saw so far where youtube shorts where the dude only fiddled with it for only a few seconds. Also its weird how they didnt bring up the detonator in the hasbro panel at all.
>>11860548You could try heating up Mara's head. I don’t really like that Luke either. The Mandalorian version, which is basically the same just with the ROTJ tunic, has a better silhouette imo and hides the body more
The twins have arrived.
>>11860801Thrilling

>>11862137No it obviously isn't retard. They never reuse heads for different characters.
>>11861440You're a retard then
>>11862272You're correct, but that's the TVC Baylan figure. The Black Series Baylan figure does share more of a resemblance to the new Black Mando.
>>11862304Hairline & beard don't match up.
>>11862304>>11862463It really doesn’t look the same at all. Is this seriously something that needs to be debated? I can’t believe people are so blind…
For some reason I slept on Dagobah Luke all these years and randomly decided to get one now. Can't believe what I was missing, this is a really good figure, has to be one of the best in black series.
>>11862551Looks pretty good. I like that you didn’t have to lean him forwards to balance Yoda.
>>11860801Just got mine too. Have fun anon.
Im so glad my childhood series are worthless. Found Darth Luke today, he's cool looking.
>>11863141I need to re-download all those comics. Boy the people were ugly but I've never seen comics colored like that ever again.
Looks like his chest and head are covered in a rubber skin and he has jaw articulation underneath.
>>11862466dey wacist
>>11863150Yeah they said the lower half is essentially a beanie baby
>>11863150They said he is mostly soft rubber with a skeleton underneath. His eyes are also moveable. It'll let him basically do all the poses you see in the film. It's cool but I doubt it would last a year in my dry ass environment, so I'm passing. Kinda wish they would have copied the TVC approach. Maybe Blokees will make one.
>>11859867Possibly. I've waited longer for figma to release, but you never know. May be holding on to him for the 50th next year.Found the Remant Snowtrooper about a week or two ago. He's not bad, but if you're willing to put him under the blade and Dremel you can get a little more range. At least enough to get him to look down weapon sights anyway. Originally planned on 3-4 with WWII weapons, but we'll see.
Welp YakFace is saying he's taking a break from following and posting updates for Star Wars stuff because he's fed up with Hasbro. That sucks. Is there anyone else that's as reliable with leaks and rumors?
>>11863440Man, Star Wars has gotten so bad it's making people get fed up and step away
>>11863147The artist is Cam Kennedy, if you're interested. He also did some good stuff for 2000AD if I iirc correctly, or at least Judge Dredd.
>>11863440I don't blame him. However, I think Hasbro's Star Wars team has been weird with releases. It seems like Legends is more organized in comparison.>heres this random 2 pack release people have been asking for forever>3 weeks pass>oh here's some other figures we forgot okay bye>2 weeks more>here is a random figure people love and then 10 figures of the latest tv show no one wants>SDCC comes around>uhh here are some clones and repackages, oh this guy too. ..we forgot to show this off when Mandlorian was in theaters, guess we should show it off now.. okay bye againAnd then watch, 4 more weeks will pass and we'll get an unceremonious HK-47, Darth Bane, and Galactic Marine drops followed by more Mandalorian stuff that should have came out 4 months ago
>>11863440That's sad. The state of the IP sucks now
>>11863449NTA, but it really sucks that the glaucoma fucked up his vision so much that he had to stop drawing. I bet his 2000AD stuff is fucking awesome though; that seems like a book very well suited to his style.
>>11863440Not really unfortunately. I appreciate what yakface does but why does he have to be a dramatic faggot like this every once in a while? This guy buys every figure and shills and consooms every single Disney slop media and everything is a masterpiece, all Star Wars is good, if you don’t like Rey you’re sexist, etc. etc. he is that type. So what exactly at SDCC broke him? The fucking dog with Embo? Nothing from SDCC was any different to the usual stuff from Hasbro so not sure what the problem is suddenly.
>>11863716>Nothing from SDCC was any different to the usual stuff from HasbroIt was worse than usual
>>11863721How?
>>11863440Imagine fucking up the number one action figure property so hard that the people reporting on it and collecting all of it for 30 years quit
Mr. Stevie started a debate about if TVC should change the kenner cardback or keep it forever and all the big voices in the community are insisting TVC will literally die if they change the packaging. Is that actually a reasonable fear? I feel like the opinions of people who think the sequel trilogy is a "masterpiece" should not be taken seriously. Let's also keep in mind most of the members in these TVC fan communities are insane. They will buy a dozen copies of figures that aren't even army builders to prove a point. And they are constantly seething and screeching about black series and attacking 6 inch collectors and even inventing slurs for them and just generally are extremely toxic and angry online. I don't know if Hasbro should listen to them.
>>11863804They are insane and I was on board until it became clear that you are an equally insane 6 inch shitter apologist. Modern day toxic toy fandoms were given birth to by 1/12fags and you all deserve the fucking rope. Not a single toy can come out in any other scale than 1/12 without you goddamned retards showing up to say that it should have been in 1/12.
>>11863804What would they gain from changing the cardback though? It’s not like it would attract new customers, it would only piss off long term collectors.
>>11863831Typically line refreshes came to tee up new upcoming projects but also generally had some new level of design ethos and specific focus to the line.TVC has now been around so long that figured don't really feel compatible with many that came before. It's also aimless and directionless, and while they have been *slightly* better with things like a focus on tattooine, now a focus on geonosis etc, it's still very much an aimless mess. I have seen it said before and I agree, the Mandalorian movie should have had its own new line. Come swinging out of the gate with a dozen figures, multiple creatures and vehicles. Instead we got a mess of stuff in 3 different lines and half of it won't be out for months more.
>>11863831Which is the bigger demographic: people who keep toys MOC or people who want to take them out and play with them?
>>11863804I don't care about the cardbacks, I just throw them away
>>11863827>until it became clear that you are an equally insane 6 inch shitter apologist. How did you make that connection, bubby? Seems clear that you are the exact psycho I am talking about that is always screaming and crying about 6 inch. I like and collect both scales. And you can tell just from looking at online discussion that objectively 1/12 collectors are far more chill and don't shit on others while 1/18 collectors are crying and seething constantly because 1/12 lives rent free in their head. >Not a single toy can come out in any other scale than 1/12 without you goddamned retards showing up to say that it should have been in 1/12.Just proving my point and shows how crazy and delusional you people are. Every single post about black series has angry TVC people reeeing about "should've been 3.75" or #balancethescales. Every single one. You are describing yourself.>>11863831It would be nice to have something different. Kenner card has become very stale and boring after all these years. There were frequent refreshes in the old days. 30th anniversary vader helmet, legacy collection stormtrooper helmet, Shadows of the Dark Side blue box, Yoda and Maul boxes, all were pretty cool designs that I feel nostalgic for now. Now there is nothing like that.Ultimately I'm an opener so it's whatever. If carded fags really need their Kenner cards then fine I guess. But I still think some change would be nice to see.
>>11863804Though I generally agree with your sentiment, if they're buying stuff, then their opinion should be heard, because that is the most important metric, after all (though I do accept that they are likely the kind to buy regardless, so that DOES detract from the weight of their input).Personally, packaging has never been important, besides keeping some sort of window because plastic less was such a stupid idea, but I have grown fond of the vintage style card back, as I've started to pin the empty boxes to my wall as decoration (if anything, I think they should change the back to show that figures' wave, because the back of toys showing MORE toys is peak! Right now we have a pic of.... The front of the box ...).I also think it's become iconic, so we probably should keep it.>>11863827Pot meet kettle (not to say that such people do not exist, but you immediately lost the plot by being that which you supposedly hate).>>11863831Yup. At least wait for some line to be drawn, like >>11863840 said, such as M&M movie line.Speaking of, it's definitely late with the M&M figures, ESPECIALLY since the movie was so mid. Like the >>11853832 reveal; who the FUCK is this dude!? Everything else though; a BIG failing that you can't leave the theaters and buy the figures.>>11863842Both are paying customers, so one shouldn't negate the other. Besides, the two groups sort each other out, as one group cares about the packaging, while the other doesn't, so defaulting to the former just makes the most sense.>>11863891The BAAAAAAAAACKS!! oooooOOOOOOoooohhhh!!!
>>11863804There are people that are buying just for the card backs. Some buy multiples to open and keep carded. It's a valid concern that if they took that aspect away, the line would indeed suffer a hit that it might not recover from. I've seen endless comments from people saying they will not start a new carded collection or bother with anything else that's not a vintage style card. Now personally as an opener, I don't care what the card back is and often feel like the TVC format is way too limiting, but at this point we're 400+ figures deep into it so I don't think a line look change would be worth the risk. Sure you could create something more flashy to try and get younger collectors into it but I just don't know if it would be enough to replace what would be lost and I'd rather have TVC than no 3.75 modern figures at all. The best move would probably to evolve it to POTF styled cards so it at least makes sense and would still have the vintage appeal for those collectors. This is why they needed to just finish the O96 forever ago and be done with it. I would have preferred the 3.75 line to keep something close to the OTC that had a good homage to the vintage Kenner cards while also leaving enough bubble space to pack bigger characters in or load up with accessories.
>>11863935Remember the M&M figures? I unironically miss the time when these were out.
>>11863804The vintage packaging doesnt matter i just wanted more 3.75 figures and less 1/12 sloppa focus. Fuck the blacked series that shit ruined star wars toys the way disney and fourth wave feminism ruined star wars as a whole
>>11863891Don't you pull your revisionist fucking bullshit on me faggot. 1/18 fans have had enough, that's why you finally see more pushback now. The entire action figure market moved to 1/12 scale because of bitching. I'm glad 1/18 fans are finally fighting back, but this is 100% a matter of your own making. Kill yourself.
>>11855091Fifty Nine Ninety Nine
>>11864804>>11864866His post hit close to home huh?
>>11865300There is something genuinely wrong with them.
>>11863374I'll never forgive Disney for just giving everyone AK's
>>11865705Disney just isn't interested in being creative...or creating a world.
>>11865705I could see their logic. The OT had everyone using WWII guns with bits glued on to them, so the next generation trilogy should use next generation guns with bits glued onto them. They just should have used more obscure weapons instead of the most recognizable gun in the world. As usual their design team just wasn't up to the task they were given.
>>11865828The important thing is that big banana magazines look out of place in the Star Wars universe. Star Wars blasters should have no magazines or very short ones.
>>11863374What gun is that? >>11865705I actually don’t think the gun he’s using in that picture is even from a Star Wars figure, but I could be wrong. Although, we have gotten this AK with Vel Sartha from Andor. Andor is definitely the most grounded Star Wars media, where it might as well take place IRL and not a fantasy setting.
>>11865850I agree with your sentiment. The standard E-11 Stormtrooper blaster *does* have a prominent magazine, but since it’s on the side, a design which was made obsolete a long time ago IRL, it’s not easily identifiable as just a real gun. I think Disney actually does a pretty solid job with blasters, for the most part. Like Mandalorian’s blaster pistol is based on a very niche, clip fed pistol, the Bergmann 1894 No. 1 semi-automatic pistol, with barely any modifications.
>>11864804TVC gets substantially more than the Black Series.
>>11865997>I think Disney actually does a pretty solid job with blasters, for the most part. They do now, but I don't like the way Resistance weapons in the sequel trilogy were designed. They look too obviously like they were 3D printed.
>>11857644>>11857638Place your bets. New hips or shitty old hips? Don't buy until reviews come out. Don't buy until clearanced or ROSS'd.
>>11865997>I think Disney actually does a pretty solid job with blastersYou're wrong
>>11853832Neat! A different type of alien penis-monster to pose with my Hiya xenos!
>>11866067I agree. “For the most part” was too broad. But they have their moments. For instance, I really like the Dark Trooper’s blaster, which seems to be a stockless Remington 870 with a shortened barrel. But re-cast with added Star Wars-y greebling, and a side-loading magazine like the E-11
>>11866145They've already released figures using those bodies. We know they have the barbell hips.
I’m also a big fan of the PK-23 blaster rifle the Pykes used in Book of Boba Fett (*unfathomably* bad show though). It’s just an unmodified VSS Vintorez, but it works because this was an incredibly obscure Russian firearm from the 80s. Similarly to how Han Solo uses a Mauser C96 that just has a little funnel on the tip.
Been playing through Jedi Outcast and was wanting to get some guns to go with Kyle Katarn
>>11866249It really is insane how much of a retardedly simple layup Boba Fett was, compared to how terrible it turned out. And they’re not even gonna try and do damage control with a second season. Fuck Disney, man.
>>11866067That Resistance trooper reminds me of the Imperial worker enemy type from the Cairn level in Jedi Outcast.
>>11865978AK from one of the Valaverse weapon packs, def inspired by the Elysium movie.
>>11866258They even gave a good set up with Boba brutally murdering Bib and taking Jabba's throne only to then release the limp dick that was BoBF.
>>11866290You didn't like him walking around town without his helmet on the same way in several episodes? It was peak.
>>11866284I knew I recognized it from somewhere!
My mission and carth came from Amazon but it was smashed to bits so hope my replacement won't be.
>>11866250Would print
>>11866634Damn, even Amazon warehouse employees must hate Carth.
>Pulse Premium expired 8 days before the Anakin & Asajj two pack releasesI really don't want to spend $50 just for a better chance of being allowed to spend $52 on something that is worth $30
>>11866001Objectively false, 3.75 as a line was sidelined so hard by 6 inchers blacked series shite that they reduced new 3.75 figures that werent the 5 POA kids line to a walmart exclusive series for several years. Again the vintage packaging is irrelevant to me but in a perfect world TBS would be immediately cancelled and all focus would go back to 3.75 lines for star wars again-the way it should be because real star wars toylines should always be built around figures in that scale primarily
>>11866975>but in a perfect worldNah, doesn't sound perfect to me.
>>11866975>real star wars toylines should always be built around figures in that scale primarilyTrvke but I also prefer 1:18 for non-Star Wars stuff too. It's just objective fact that Star Wars originated at and thrives at the 3.75 scale. You're allowed to like the doll scale BLACKEDseries but you're wrong for doing so.
3.75 collectors don’t deserve anything when this is how they behave
>>11865978>Andor is definitely the most grounded Star Wars media, where it might as well take place IRL and not a fantasy setting.Hence why andor sucks so hard.
>>11866435That movie was cool
>>11866996Doll collectors should be raped and killed in all cases since they are spiritually Israeli faggots
>>11867072Based poster and based post
>>11866897I've only had Premium because of backing the last two TVC Haslabs. But I have found that Pulse at least gets enough exclusives throughout the year that it does make it worthwhile to have and winds up paying for itself pretty quickly. Since next year there are supposed to be more multipacks coming as part of their initiative to support all the previous Haslabs, I'm probably going to re-up my membership when it expires next month.
>>11866975Then why does 3.75 have such a wider range of characters?
>>11867031Glad we can agree it’s fucking bad. For a hundred different reasons.
I don’t get it because whenever I look up a character I want, 3.75 always has it but never 1/12.
>>11866975In a perfect world 3.75 diehards would stop complaining, 3.75 gets characters that Hasbro has been seemingly deliberately ignoring in the Black Series for years, plus it gets actually good sculpts, the 3.75 Fordo is miles ahead of the reused slop 6 inch Fordo.
>>11867118Yes they really are spoiled entitled children. As a TVC collector myself, except one that is actually normal about things, I get wanting new and definitive updates to years old characters, I want them too. But the fact is, a lot of those characters do already exist in the scale. You may not like the quality of those years old figures but it's at least there. And some are still good enough for displays. For example I picked up a POTF 2-1B and feel content with it and don't care if they never make a new one. Same with Taun We from the SAGA Series. They are just background characters anyway.Meanwhile when 6 inch doesn't have any version of that character, I don't get why it's so terrible for them to get one for the first time. There are many, or if anything, more collectors that enjoy 6 inch and want things too. Acting like their wants are invalid and everything should be me me me only is so fucking childish and pathetic. And when they also just can't fathom the economics of it and the reasons WHY there is a disparity in releases, it really shows they are also retarded on top of being selfish.
>>11867214Meanwhile, I remember the mockery 3.75 collectors got when the scale was downsized to 5poa and TVC was "dead" and BS collectors gloating. Surprise surprise, they brought back the scale and now there's whining about how TVC gets more variety than BS. It's almost like the 3.75 business model was designed to facilitate a broader variety of characters, vehicles, and creatures.
>>11867116Trust me i agree hard, andor is "star wars" made by people who hate star wars and want to do anything besides to work on a star wars show so it look, feels, and acts nothing like how star wars should. Its only star wars in name only.
>>11867214>Acting like their wants are invalid and everything should be me me me only is so fucking childish and pathetic.I don't mean to sound childish or like an asshole but I really don't care about what the BLACKEDseries gets because I don't think it should exist. I get that it's too late now to just shutter the entire line since it has too many fans at this point, but I really wish that it had just never existed. Star Wars toys are supposed to be 3.75in scale and that's just the way it is. Having to support two different lines with completely different tooling makes nobody get what they want. I don't understand why 6in fags can't just be happy with import figures which are significantly higher quality anyways.
>>11867444>Star Wars toys are supposed to be 3.75in scale and that's just the way it isB-Because I say so okay!!!
>>11867448>B-Because I say so okay!!!Because it was established at, and invented, the 3.75in scale. 3.75 exists because of Kenner's original line of Star Wars figures. This scale is significantly better for worldbuilding since you can still reasonably make creatures and vehicles that aren't prohibitively large or expensive. It was also perfect for kids to put in their pocket and carry around, the original purpose of toys.
>>11867459Yeah, except toys are by and large collector's items now. You might as well claim that 3.75 figures should never have gotten complex articulation or fancy accessories because it makes them prohibitively expensive as well. Shit changes, get the fuck over it.
>>11867460>get the fuck over itLooks like you are the one who is going to have to "get the fuck over" getting TVC's sloppy seconds 6ingger
>>11867463Unlike you fags I'm secure with the shit I collect and don't have meltdowns at a post correctly calling out your exact behavior.
>>11867465Are you Jewish by chance? You're doing that Jew thing where you start an argument then accuse the other side of doing the thing that you are doing yourself.
>>11867471I think you're the Jewish one by consciously ignoring that this started by someone saying you fags are psychos who seethe about the very existence of 6 inch Star Wars figures and you immediately proved him right. Huh, that even lines up with Jews seething at the existence of other religious groups if you want your /pol/ analogy.
>>11867481I don't believe that they should exist and I believe that Hasbro is wasting already limited resources on a line that isn't even liked by fans. Splitting their output across two lines diminishes the quality of both lines and results in a lose-lose situation for both factions. That isn't "seething about their very existence." If it makes me a psycho to not care about 6ingger feelings, then sure, I am a psycho. 6inggers engaged in their own psycho behavior when TVC was at a low point a while ago >>11867393 so I don't really care if they call me the same. I don't get angry over 6in figures existing, in fact, I don't think about the 6in line at all until uppity 6inggers shit up the thread with their whining about how bad the newest wave of 6in slop is. All that I hear about 6in figures are complaints so I don't understand why people still buy them. TVC has its own issues but it's a pretty great quality line despite 6in slop stealing resources from it.
>>11867509I don't even need to comment.
>>11867515And yet you did, because you have no actual response, but think that being the last reply in a chain means that you "won." At this point it's clear that you are even worse than a Jew, you are, dare I say it, an Indian. 6inggers are spiritually Indian. Entering into a historically 3.75 space and shitting all over the streets, celebrating when you thought TVC was going to die despite benefiting from its existence, and then resorting to playing the victim when your line goes to shit and blaming everything on the meanie TVC collector "psychos." You carry on with this retarded non-argument because you don't want to lose izzat. Bloody benchod basterd bitch I fuck your mother bloody fucker.
what the fuck is even going on here
>>11867552purist crashing out and blaming fellow consumers over choices hasbro made of their own volition
>>11867481I like how your argument just blatantly ignores the seething psychosis of the initial post, and puts it all on the one that responded in kind. That anon was a huge hypocrite, and you are the Jew that is doing exactly what you are accusing anon of by "consciously ignoring that this started by someone saying you fags are psychos".It was always stupid to go into 6" as well, because you give up vehicles and scenery for slightly better details (and not even articulation lol), so go ahead, retort with your shitty cope.... Meanwhile I'm going to load some figures into one of my many vehicles, and swoosh it around :p
>>11853734>>11867214Lmao, they went and IMMEDIATELY proved your point. Nice. The responses to this post just show that TVCbabies are just that, big babies.
>>11867589You are proving his fucking point. Randomly bringing up the Jews really just solidifies that you're a fucking psycho. Get out of your Aunt Becky's basement and touch grass you sniveling little worm.
>>11867575I'm not even a purist for the sake of being a purist, it's just an additional point in favor of it. 3.75 is just a better scale for Star Wars and 6" has nothing but downsides. Worse paint apps, worse articulation somehow, worse selection of characters, very little in the way of vehicles and creatures, zero scenery or diorama type playsets, etc. The only reason I can see for actually wanting 6" Star Wars is if you already collect other 6" lines and want everything to match up on your gay little shelf. Even though there can be considerable variance in scale between lines that all claim to be 6" which kind of invalidates that.>>11867595You can call the Jew all the names you want and they mean nothing but as soon as you call him out for what he really is he crashes out kek
>>11867599Little sister, you're the one having a melty over the very existence of a toy line that no one is forcing you to buy. Calling people Jews and Indians just because they collect something you don't. Sorry, bitch tits, but you can pout, and cry, and stamp your little feetsies all you like., but you've done NOTHING but prove his exact point by reacting the way you do. Your whole argument boils down to "STOP LIKING WHAT I DONT LIKE". Absolutely. Fucking. Pathetic. Get some perspective on your life. I hope you have fun swooshing around your spaceship toy like you're seven years old while probably being in your mid thirties. Yup, you really play with your toys like a child. You sure showed us! Manbaby.
>>11853734>>11867214They also apparently have arrested development and are proud of the fact that they still actually play with their toys.
It all makes sense now. 6inggers are the same kind of people ruining Lego by making dust collector slop that sits static on a shelf extremely profitable while destroying the playsets that made the brand popular in the first place. TVChads actually play with their toys as God intended.
>>11867614Sorry, but proclaiming that you still play with your toys like a six year old is never going to be the own you think it is lmao.
>>11867618It says, collecting toys like a sophisticated "grown-up"
>>11867620Again anon, proclaiming you partake in literal childish behavior is never going to be the one up you are trying to claim it is.
>>11867624Participating in a childish activity but acting like you do it in a mature manner and are therefore superior to others is significantly more pathetic than unabashedly participating in a childish activity.
>>11867628There's a difference between collecting toys and then actually playing with them. Sorry, but there's no refuting this. You even make mention of it somewhere above. Collecting and enjoying things isn't childish. Swooshing your spaceship toy around your bedroom in your 30s is though.
>>11867645>>11867607>>11867599Ah, the "traps aren't gay" cope of the toy world, a true classic.
>>11867662I'm starting to think these responses aren't actual TVC collectors but people trying to run their name through the dirt. I refuse to believe anyone is this lacking in self awareness.
>>11867702I'm starting to think that BLACKEDfags are even bigger fags than I imagined. They buy shitty figures and then put them on a shelf and don't touch them because playing with your toys is gay apparently. I can't even fathom this. If you want something to sit on a shelf and collect dust why the fuck wouldn't you just buy something that actually looks good like Hot Toys or any of the many high quality import figures? Or hell even just statues since articulation doesn't matter at that point?
>>11867713>Still proving anons point You can't make this shit up lmao.
>Something seems to be bothering Carth. Maybe you should speak to him and see if you can get him to open up about it.

One of many perks of the superior 1:18 scale >:)On a somewhat related note: here's some simple customs that I've done recently; a $3 dragon mount from HtTYD, and a holster for the fleet commander's pistol.(I'm going to add some more stuff to the saddle later, like functional or fake pouches)
>>11867896I'm the original "Jewish" anon and haven't said anything since my I don't even need to comment post, I don't know how you fags are still melting down.

>>11867900You fags are writing essays at this point, I don't see how you can claim you aren't absolutely assmad.

>>11867713They were sold a sweet lie that these figures are a premium product because they look better than kenner monkey leia and potf2 he-man sculpts. Don't show anger towards them, feel bad that they think their boxes will be a nu-early bird cardboard one day. Even though at this pace, all of SW will be worth potf2 instead.

>>11867922What revenge lol? I'm enjoying my superior scale, with all of these superior features! Also, that's called "having an imagination", anon, but I suppose NPCs like you are unable to ... :,(
>>11867755>just got this in the mail, was mentally prepared for mission's slenderman arms but not carth's russian stacking doll torsowhat the FUCK is even happening at hasbrohe has pinned legs too; fuck me i gotta stop falling for this shit just because its kotor
>>11868133I cancelled it and am waiting for a sale for a reason
>>11860801Mine came in last week. Ive been getting back into the EU books. Listening to Survivors Quest currently in the evening. Im happy with the figures, despite the flaws as I missed out on the 3.75 inch Jacen and Jaina years ago so this feels full circle almost
Despite the flaws, I'm really happy with Carth and Mission. Can't wait until the rest of the crew is made.
>>11868261Thats a cool diorama. Did you make that or buy it?
>>118682923D printed. Look up LandspeederLuke. He has tons of cool dioramas just like it available.
>>11868219Based, I hope we get some Vong figures down the line if Hasbro is willing to start dipping their toes into NJO stuff. Need Nom Anor at the very least. And Survivor's Quest is a fun read/listen, I read it a few months ago for the first time myself. Wouldn't say it's my favorite Zahn book or anything, but so much of it being about Luke and Mara just being in a stable relationship and working competently together felt so refreshing compared modern SW. You should read or listen Outbound Flight too. That and Survivor's Quest are basically a duology and OF makes a great epilogue for all of the original Thraw cycle.>>11868261This looks fucking awesome, I can hear the Kotor character creation music/main them just looking at it. I'm fine with Mission and Carth despite their shortcomings too. Neither are my favorite party members any way, but Hasbro better put in the effort with HK and Canderous. Also, I see you gave Carth both blasters like I was tempted to.
>>11868133ha I knew I was right to cancel this one
>>11868261oh my fucking god bro
>>11868304man I need to hurry up and clear out all this ebay shit that's taking up 25% of my life so I can get into printing.
>Mockery: "Oh, master, I do not trust you! I cannot trust you or anyone ever again!"
>>11868406Definitely. HK is my number one most wanted figure so if they skimp on him by giving him HK-87 parts, I'm gonna be so disappointed. And yeah, the dual blasters is a must for Carth. I prepared by painting a vibroblade from etsy for Mission.>>11868678It really is the fatal flaw of the figure. I don't know how to fix it unfortunately and it feels bad and looks awful. Will be looking into solutions.>>11868751Great shots.
>>11868678Yeah this Pic convinced me to cancel mine
I got the Target exclusive Arc Trooper for $40, and a 2020 phase 1 trooper for $22 that way I could swap the head and arms to make an accurate Fordo. I made the swap, but the way the paint on the visor is so flawed is really irritating me. If I wanted to paint it myself, what’s the point of getting the Arc Trooper? At this point, I’m debating just selling both of these and using one of the new Blokees troopers instead, which I could just use masking tape to make 100% accurate paint. It’s really frustrating. -_-
>>11868856New Blokees trooper will stick out like a sore thumb. It's significantly smaller than the Black Series despite being a bit bigger than the other Blokees releases.
>>11868876Yes but this was set to be my first ever clone trooper in my collection. The Blokees clones are actually significantly larger than their Stormtroopers, and arguably more in line with 1/12 than the Black Series clones, which are actually quite large compared to the rest of the line. Although I don’t think the BS clone scale is BAD, since i haven’t begun to collect clones I’m thinking I am going to pivot to Blokees.
I mean, BS clones don’t seem bad in general but this kitbash has been a real shit sandwich for me as an intro to clones. They’re actually such fuckers for making this Fordo 10% accurate, to where I’d have to spend 2-3x as much as a single figure just to make it accurate…
>>11868910>cloned from manlet>stand 6'2" without the helmetSomebody make this make sense.>>11868764Doesn't her vibroblade have a black hilt/guard/blade housing? I think poiple was one of the Sith ones.
Welcome to the Lower City, core slimes.>>11868764Nice, that was such a good early game weapon. And thanks anon, Kotor is my favorite Star Wars thing that isn't the OT or Thrawn Trilogy, so related figures always capture my imagination more than the average new arrival. I'll do some more pics with Mission later.>>11869160I just checked the in game model and it looks like a dark purple to me.
Got an email about Pulse's sale going on and decided to check it out to grab some TVC stuff. Got hit with the thought how It's always kind of depressing when the price for stuff on sale is just what the previous retail was only a year or so ago.
>>11869160The colors were sourced from in-game and the render where she's sneaking up on some Gammoreans. >>11869492Same here!>>11868261Made some modifications to my Mission. Shortened forearms, painted kneepads, and drilled into head so that it sits lower. Halfway to the full crew!
>>11869492>>11869620Weird, always looked like a very dark blue to me, same as the Prototype Vibroblade. Guess that's my cue to play the game again to be sure. Also, I always pictured lightsider Revan with orange and teal lightsabers just because those are the two unique Yavin IV colour crystals, but props for sticking with a single saber. Obvious gameplay benefits aside I never liked the dual-wielding look on Revan that the models tend to go with.
>>11869581Yeah that was my same thought everything feels like it’s down to the price it "should be" and even that price is kinda high. Don’t think there’s anything really worth getting there
>>11869581Slim pickings, but it did drive me to finally bite the bullet on the Jabba set and the Jabba's denizens 4 pack
>>11869581Does anyone know how well the weathering on the remnant troopers in the 4 pack compare to the weathering on the newest sandtrooper? I have no interest in Mandoslop but I was wondering how well they would work as background stormtroopers for a Tatooine display.
where's our fucking HK-47 and mandalore?
>>11870023Can you really not look at the two side by side and tell how the weathering compares? The paint on the sandtrooper is shit, not to mention the oversized backpack.
>>11870144>sandtrooperWhat the fuck, looks like he's got old piss stains across his armour.
>>11870144You really are just a miserable joyless fuck, aren't you?
>>11870144I meant someone who actually owns them. I am aware that I can look at the product images on the website. I guess I should have specified since this thread is full of actual antisocial autists.
Are there any other toylines with heads that would fit tvc? want to headswap onto reva but there aren't many generic female heads to choose from, probably fewer with the right size or reciprocal ball
>>11870280I swear, Hasbro does not want you to kitbash, because they always make ball joints different sized, they make pegs and peg holes different widths and length, and so fourth.I wanted to do the same, but ran into this problem, so I just used some cloth to make a vowel/blindfold thingy for her.>>11870274Unfortunately, we have some tourists here who don't own toys, but think they are the authority on the matter, because if he DID own toys, he would know how promo pics are NOT reliable, as *the final product may vary.
>>11870274>>11870417>>11870195You can watch reviews as well if you don’t want to look at promo pics. I am being a jackass because I’m tired of every toy community I go to being filled with low IQs that just don’t get anything. Every site or comment section I go to I see the same stuff over and over, "what’s the difference", "is it the new body or old body", "what scale is this" like no one has eyes. But yes the experienced collector is the tourist, not the people that ask retarded questions. Crazy.
My battle damaged Grievous arrived and it’s fucking awesome. God I loved him since I was a kid I always wanted a General Grievous.I wish they made a figure of Darth Vader from the boss fight in Jedi Survivor where he is wreathed in flames of the burning library. It’d pair so well
Close up
>>11870503>You can watch reviews as well if you don’t want to look at promo pics.Or I can ask people in the toy thread to post pictures of their toys, prompting further toy discussion in the process. No idea why you are being this autistic over toy discussion in a toy thread on a toy board. I went ahead and ordered it anyways so I guess I will be the one to post some pictures of how they look together soon.
>>11870641>I wish they made a figure of Darth Vader from the boss fight in Jedi SurvivorA little surprised they haven’t done it yet with all the Vaders they put out. This Grievous looks cool but I think the Shattered Armor skin could’ve been even cooler if they put little orange paint hits and the tattered cape and broken head with his brain showing through
>Hey, don't treat me like I'm a little girl! I ain't no kid—I'm fourteen years old!
>>11870956Uuuuoooh ToT
>>11870932That sounds awesome. I’m a big fun of battle damage and all. It shows how serious and close a battle can be. A hero giving all to win, or a implacable villain hampered by nothing.
>>11870280It's rare to get a perfect fit because even within the line itself they'll use different sized pegs and sockets. Then there's the fact that TVC is a tad smaller than the 4" figures that are out there, so depending on the body you are using the head might feel out of proportion. The best move I have found is to just get resin printed heads that are meant for 3.75". Yes you gotta paint them but it's whatever and usually some tac is all you will need to attach it onto a neck peg.
Picked this up just now at Wally world, was only $40, when online says MSRP is $50, did I get lucky?>>11870503Nigga, watching the review of one toy is NOT as good as seeing the two side by side, AND getting the insight of someone that owns both. Reviews are done in isolation, and rarely get properly compared to others in a meaningful way, as it would be too much effort to cross check with so many variants, ESPECIALLY STORM TROOPERS!!You can call yourself an experienced collector all you want, but you're still retarded by bitching so much about it.
>>11871332Okay, I'm really happy I got these guys now! I was a bit iffy on just getting another clone, and I admit that it was a bit of an impulse buy, but cody turned out great with all of his kittle bits, and the yellow is a nice shade. There was a bit of an issue with his right antenna and the visor clip, as when it's put on properly, it bends the antenna out a bit, but a little snip of the clip, and a dab of super glue, and the visor is in, perfectly!Anakin is great too, as I always liked this version of him, and getting the updated articulation and all of the tech? And I didn't think I cared about the open hand, until I popped it in!Good job, Hasbro! Now I'm tempted to grab a bunch of yellow clones from AliExpress, but they're out of P1 :,( Yeah, I know, he's a P2, but I want at least ONE of each!
>>11871332You are lucky that you found it in store because they haven't even started shipping the preorders yet. The price thing is an error. They originally went up for $50 but Walmart corrected them and changed it back to $40 like the Obi-Wan and Airborne 2 pack.
>>11871332What a rip off
>reading up on some novels that Jedi and Sith clashed>Obi-Wan is repeatedly stated to use one of the most simple styles that is more of an intermediary to learn more advanced ones>bunch of everyone else are basically spirals of death at least bordering on the Dark Side that are bad matchups for everyone else and would murder everyone on the planet>Obi-Wan is repeatedly the one that has to fight those people or people that learned off from them>and consistently wins because he can hold his own until a split second opening or the opponent tires out>at one point Mace Windu even says it’s too risky for anyone to fight Grievous than Obi-Wan because he even replicated his Vaapad>in one of the entries the duel of Mustafar is that with Anakin eventually losing his edge on the long run so that high ground (and more stability) was a colossal advantageDaaaaamn. Kind of weird you ask me with all the emphasis the Jedi put on protecting that Obi-Wan is their defense master though. I still haven’t gotten to Vader but I assume his style is a mix of this now after losing his mobility
>>11871721It's interesting that Obi-Wan does really well against heavily offensive fighters but hits a wall against precision fighters like Dooku, who was the one repeat opponent he always had trouble with. Even if the lightsaber forms aren't 100% consistent with what's on screen the idea of different styles having strengths and weaknesses against other styles has always been interesting to me.
>>11871721They even took that and factored it into Obi-Wan's stats in Battlefront 2. He has a much higher stamina than any other hero in the game for blocking blasters and sabers. And his defensive rush ability lets him deflect any attacks while he moves in for his most powerful strike.
Why don't Star Wars toys have a clear brand direction? Trying to do everything at once (retro line, TVC vs Black series, actionverse) and trying to please the wildly different fanbase sectors split between OT, PT, animated projects, Nuwars at the same time has throttled everything to a trickle. Prices are up, WAY fucking up, collectors now see the items they want are spread out over five or ten year periods, and the brand doesn't inspire long term confidence with its D+ underperforming and its box office events flopping.
>>11871973You answered your own question, they’re trying to satisfy like 5 different core audiences. It’s really not that bad considering how good quality the actual product is, and only getting better. I mean, I can’t believe how long it took for us to get some of this prequel stuff but I couldn’t be happier with it given the quality. If they’d have come out 10 years ago, they’d just be shitty and need replacing anyways.
>>11871721The way Obi Wan couldn’t help but tell Anakin the flaw in his technique even in their decisive battle breaks my heart. Anakin could have killed Obi Wan if he’d have heeded his advice, but his arrogance got the better of him. Obi Wan didn’t want to have to kill Anakin. And in the end he couldn’t bring himself to.
>>11872243Frankly I'm glad it took them a while to redoing the mains and some of the glups we've gotten recently because it means they get all that premium sculpting and articulation (minus Obi-Wan's knees). I'm sad that a lot of characters done in the past will be forever stuck with swivel hips.
>>11871721The scene where Mace tells Obi-Wan he's the one they're sending him after Grievous is so good because Mace tells him they're sending their best and Obi-Wan is like 'Cool! Who are we sending?'. Such a humble guy that he thinks nothing of his own abilities, especially compared to someone like Mace. But as Mace himself points out, whose skill is greater? The creator of a new lightsaber form? Or the master of its oldest?
Is Quinlan Vos a good figure? He's on sale on Amazon right now.
>>11872316AMAZING figure.
>>11872349NTA, but he does look pretty good and I'm tempted to pick him up while he's discounted. Sort of holding out hope they might do a rerelease with the darker colors from the Legends comics though.
>>11871849Yeah I reached the part they delve more in the forms and the multiple jedi that wrote notes over the book praise or critique the forms in it. They note Dooku’s style had fallen in disuse (meaning less people used to it) while Dooku ridicules the Ataru that Anakin favors>>11871880Man I always feel the videogame writers give their all. The more I’m reading the more I’m seeing them with more respect. They did their homework.>>11872245Obi Wan also shows agreement that multiple dismemberment shouldn’t be done and the Jedi heavily disaprove something like slicing both legs of someone as they note if you reached that point you should be capable of finding another way. Meaning the way he ended the fight with Anakin was both showing how desperate he was and affected himself mentally too.>>11872313I am loving all this so much. It’s something you don’t see lately. Everyone in the new entries is trying to make or be something new, different, while something that survived the test of time did for a good reason.Anakin also has notes that he finds the defensive form incapable of winning since he believes you have to fight back. Ahsoka then points out it’s giving everyone that uses the form a higher chance to survive. Then the book notes the form conserves energy for decisive blows and Anakin repeatedly enforces in later forms to boost yourself with the force. He wastes himself.By emphasis on something so basic and mastering it, Obi Wan became a walking fortress. Nothing fancy but nothing to exploit either.
It's great to have so many of the Kotor 1 party members on one shelf. I continue to be tired of waiting for Black Series HK though, it's way too light side up in here.
>>11872534I really wanna get Carth and Mission but JEEEEZ those arms
>>11868856I'm actually going to have to abandon this Fordo custom. I spent $25 on materials from Hobby Lobby like polystyrene sheets to try and heat form the mantle and belt/holster, but it won't actually form to shape like the internet said it would and it's very brittle anyways. They sell a bunch of custom parts for a Fordo on Etsy, but it'd be $91 to order it all, including shipping. I've already spent around $85 on this thing, between the failed Hobby Lobby materials, and the Arc Trooper & phase 1 clone body. I'm just gonna put the phase 1 clone body back together, I guess. I can't justify spending a further $91 on one figure. I'm a big Black Series glazer but the way they fucked up this Fordo is just unfathomable. I mean it doesn't even look anything like Fordo out of the box. Fuckers. If anyone at Hasbro happens to be here reading this, we need an accurate Fordo.
>>11872534>>11872635They all look off desu, like that photo of the stunt doubles for GotG. I can't believe they used shitty designs for Bastila and Malak from a remake that never even released.
>>11872735Doesn't AliExpress have a bunch of clone variants for like, pretty cheap as well???
>>11872735Could’ve bought phase I Rex from Ahsoka, swap the arms and helmet, paint the pauldron, then all you need is 3D printed Etsy pistols. Painting is unavoidable if you want an accurate Frodo but there were definitely better ways to go about it
>>11872975That’s on the 2024 body so I read that the arms don’t swap in without modification. The mantle still isn’t the correct shape, either. I see what you mean, though. Maybe it’d have worked.
Wish I hadn't been going through health and money problems when the cantina was funding. Really destroyed any desire to pick up any of the ANH related figures.
>>11872983What is a mantle? But that’s true Rex has the O ring shoulder pads so it might not have worked either. I’ve seen a ton of Frodo customs on the black series subreddit maybe you could see what they did unless you already did
>>11873879>what is a mantle The thing that hangs around their shoulders. I did a little bit of research into customs people have made, while I could have finished it with $91 of Etsy parts (including crazy expensive shipping), I already spent too much to justify it. I’ll figure it out eventually but for now I’ve returned both figures to default.
>>11874046Oh most people call that a pauldron, I've never seen mantle before. How the hell did you get $91 though?? I don't believe you because I've ordered 3D printed parts from Etsy before and while they can be expensive, it's never that much for one kit. Unless you were looking at something prepainted or 1/6 scale. I just looked through etsy real quick and saw CoruscantCustoms has a Fordo kit for $20 + $5 shipping (assuming you are in US) and I know that's a legit store. Kama will have to be sourced separately but those shouldn't be that much either. Probably could get everything in $50 max not counting paints. Which I guess is still a lot though for what you're getting.
>>11873875I wish you hadn't either Anon. But there are plenty of Cantinas out there on the secondary market.
>>11872849the best ones all go for retail price these days, but you get more variants and occasionally more effort with different helmets and gear
>>11874259Plus that delicious lead paint smell
>>11874266is that what the smell is? i thought it was the plastic
