Hell yeah, gang. I'm about to be the proud owner of Batzarro, the worst DC toy McFarlane ever made. A two pack that's selling for less than the cost of one figure. Bizarro has been missing for a while, I think I finally have a full Superman Revenge Squad now.If Mattel wants my money they'll devote an entire line to My Adventures with Superman. Managed to pick up the new Mattel Bane and Batman from the DC Premier 3-pack for $20 on their own without Nightwing. With Bane, the design is basically a combination of modern Bane based on Tom King's run between the mask, belt, gloves and Venom rig, but with slight Knightfall embellishments like the more exposed wrestler-style singlet and boots w/ laces. While I was pretty excited for this one, best I can say is it's "alright". Lack of ankles is standard for DC Premier so I expected that, but the lack of thighs really hurts this one, as I genuinely struggled to keep Bane standing in any other pose than a vanilla one. Also I guess to keep budget-friendly, the torso and thighs are hollow and some of the joints feel gummy in places, so it's not as "solid" as I wished it would feel.
>>11873837Worth noting is that the bicep sculpt is pre-posed to face inwards, so the biceps are always at a diagonal position relative to the ball hinge shoulders. I've handled MOTU figures with a similar shoulder setup, so I'm not really surprised but it's not exactly ideal and it makes it so that the figure's biceps are always facing towards the middle. As for other nitpicks, the head can only look up and down with no tilt, so poses are more limited when turning the head from side to side. Also they didn't align the black paint for the singlet underneath the arms so it looks a little goofy when the shoulders are raised.
>>11873840In contrast the Batman figure actually surprised me. More solid pieces, strong joints that feel less gummy, and the thigh swivels work wonders in keeping him stable. I had no problem standing up Batman in pic-related compared to Bane who kept falling over. Honestly besides the lack of ankles and torso articulation, it almost feels like a Hasbro ML and could easily fit alongside similarly scaled figures.
>>11873841Overall, while I did complain about the Bane figure, it's still pretty decent if you can get him at retail price with the set, but do NOT pay for more than that. If you're willing to pay premium for a good Bane, there's far better options out there. Even the old DCUC Collect n' Connect Bane by Mattel in pic-rel still holds up to this day and feels much nicer to pose around. If I had to rank all the comic Bane figures I own it'd be: MAFEX > DCUC CnC > McFarlane (either version) > DC Premier > DCSH.Since I'll be getting a complete set with Nightwing and keeping them stock, I'll probably customize this one to look closer to his original Knightfall design using extra parts I have from the DCUC Bane and I'll use the spare parts to make a separate proper Tom King Bane.

>>11874011I haven't, I'm still waiting for more people to sell of their collection so I can fill in the gaps in my collection I'm guessing people are waiting for the collector's line
>>11874011There are some tasty deals out there if you're quick. Arkham Catwoman went for less than MSRP. I'm seeing a lot of Collector Edition figures selling for at or less than MSRP, and it's always an insane number of them with no theme or style, it's just like someone was being sent cases of promo figures they never opened. Not even old ones, it's stuff like the Batman Returns waves just being put up for auction starting at a dollar with free shipping. No one who paid over $70 retail for those would just dropkick them for a dollar. The only alternative to shills and promoters unloading stuff they don't care about is a vengeful ex wife selling out the toy room for pennies just so she can make her former manchild husband cry.Is it more likely that promo figures are being unloaded en masse or that McFarlanes are being used as weapons in divorce wars? Would be interesting to know the backstory behind figures being dumped for cheap.
>>11874051My guess is its stuff that would've went to Ross but maybe even Ross didn't want them and so they got shoveled off to back channels like local toy stores that buy from McFarlane

>>11874872Do you feel Spider-Man is too conformist of a super hero and dc and marvel need more subversive heroes to get their time to shine?
>>11874880That's a strange question, as if there's a scale between conformist and rebel with superheroes when even someone like Superman is shown waving an American flag around while his first appearance has him smashing into the home of a governor to pardon someone on death row. The act of being a superhero is inherently as rebellious as it is conformist, since they're usually fighting to protect a status quo or for a better world.Do you mean to ask is Man of Spiders overexposed and out of good stories? Yes absolutely, multiverse stories are cancer and the result of writers running out of interesting character stories to tell. But that new movie apparently is doing really well and Spider-Man will always be popular, but it seems like even the movies are locked into cleaning up and retconning things that happened in previous movies. It's a cycle of diminishing returns.I also think he's just bad at his job in general and even random mooks like Starman who don't want to be superheroes can figure out how to save the day, start a family, and escape the grind before it kills them. Batman has a plan for how to save Gotham, and in most future stories he has robots or an army of sidekicks who patrol the city. Spidey is just bumbling through life one day at a time, killing girlfriends, getting possessed by ghosts who make him fuck midgets, just dumb incompetent bullshit.
