Have you gotten your tooner Starscream yet, /tfg/? You didn't pay ebay scalper prices after Target nuked nearly everyone's orders, did you?Previous:>>11867044
But I've already gotten like 5 Starscreams.
>>11873065I'm still actually mad about this. First time in years that toys made me actually upset. And I don't even like TFs that much. This is just bullshit.
>>11873065got mine in late June, EBGames got him early.
>>11873065Ah, I remember posters in the /tfg/ saying that there won't be any exclusive seekers this time.
>>11873110If they absolutely had to make one an exclusive, they should have picked Skywarp like the good ol days
>>11873114I know for absolute certain that this was available at Walmart back then, I know because I passed it up one day and regretted it.
>>11873082Same, though most of my rage stems from Starscream being one of my all time favorite Transformers and this being exactly what I want the G1 version to look like. Kind of want to check my local Targets still, but I feel like it would just be wasted time and effort at this point.
>>11873125Nah, Walmart had the Masterpiece Skywarp (which sold so badly you could get it for $20)
>>11873065>And all 5 to rub them in your faces!
>>11873127>nahI was there, I saw it. I got the Floptimus/Megatron 2pack instead and regretted never getting Classics Skywarp. I know it wasn't a Target, my town does not have one of those.
>>11873114people believed that because they saw Skywarp and Thundercracker slated for general retail that there wouldn't be an exclusive.
Jem Blaster and Cereal Prime are up on Pulse.>ships September 1Thats hella stupid.
>>11873165I assumed they were out, wtf
>>11873166This is the first time they've been available outside SDCC.
>>11873167Yeah so I assumed it was stock of what didn't sell at SDCC, not a pre-order.
>>11873170Yeah, I dunno why they waited so long either.
>>11873065There's a rumor going around about the reason these figures were canceled.
>>11873179This guy is making it sound like Target is dumping Transformers all together.
>>11873179>Once things get back to normal (2029)These people have way too much hope
People are very angry at Target right now. This is another reason why preorders should not exist as some others have mentioned on /toy/ recently. If they only put up the orders once the figure arrives in the US, then there would not be these cases of failure to fulfill preorders.
Do you think moving the factories to another country would alleviate costs?
>>11873198Only if its a country not affected by tariffs.
>>11873198No, in fact it would realistically still raise costs for the time it takes to get the new factories and workers up to speed due to inefficiencies that come with work force training and startup costs. And that is assuming a business in those countries would even be open to the endeavor. Only a few countries have businesses that are on the ground running and able to do the complex type of injection molding, painting and assembly of complex plastic toys like Transformers. So there is basically no getting out of this beyond removal of the tariffs.
Imagine if America had toy factories that made the Transformers instead of having them assembled in Vietnam and shipped to the other side of the world.
>>11873179>>11873065Are other countries drowning in Starscreams right now?
>>11873209Lets be honest, even when the tariffs are gone companies won't lower prices again. They'll see that customers are willing to pay more and keep things the way they are.
>>11873082Back when MP Soundwave came out as a TRU exclusive I went around looking for one but they sold out pretty much instantly at every location near me. Then I saw an ebay listing where they had a literal stack of 20 in the photo. Probably the same rage you feel now.
Can I put the original beast wars megatron's head on the reissue version?
>>11873212Then the prices would be triple. So this Starscream people are up in arms about would be about $128.97 instead of $42.99.You underestimate labor costs, overhead and regulatory costs in the US.
>>11873216True but they would stop rising for awhile.
>>11873224What's the profit margin for toys, somehow I get the feeling that we're all being fleeced hard but that's just me.
>>11873220Soundwave was the most bullshit because even if you ordered online it'd go up for for like 30 seconds at 2 in the morning. I know because that's how I got mine.
Maybe I'll use Bishoujo Starscream as a placeholder
>>11873216If customers withold from purchasing at inflated "tariff pricing" they'll lower them back down real quick. People are willing to pay it if tariffs exist, but I for one would go as far as actively cancelling preorders if prices remain high in the absence of a tariff.
>>11873233Yeah, I remember I didn't manage to get it online, so I called around the next morning to see if anyone had it in stock and the only one that did said they weren't allowed to hold one for me. When I got there they were sold out and the employee said I should have called and had them hold one for me. I was so mad
>>11873198No, the pedo in chief just showed that doesn’t even work as he just slapped tariffs on several countries even higher than the ones he has on China.
>>11873138I mean, no one thought making Starscream the exclusive because making Starscream the exclusive is down right retarded.
>>11873229It's hard to get details down to just toys, but Hasbro itself has a gross profit margin of 67.48% as of June 30, 2026*. For toys that would be a bit less because we have to take into account that Wizards is under Hasbro which bolsters their margins higher as Wizards sells people literal cardboard for insanely inflated prices. But you have to also take into account that there is some leeway in MSRP for the store selling the toy itself to also get its own cut, so that leads to even more fleecing of the consumer.* https://trendonify.com/quote/HAS/gross-marginBut we're definitely getting fleeced in some form or fashion.
>>11873237Most people don't even think there are tariffs anymore because news widely reported the supreme court struck down "the tariffs" but few paid enough attention to know that was only a portion of them, and He Who Shall Not Be Named has people working to find new justifications to work around that ruling.Even if most did know, I doubt a significant amount of collectors would have the willpower to stop buying toys they "need" in protest of MSRP remaining high.
>>11873247and Hasbro said "hold my beer"
>>11873247It makes perfect sense for Hasbro.Target says "We need an exclusive toy".Hasbro says "We'll give you this very important character that collectors all want but you need to pay us X million dollars".Target says "Deal".Target pays Hasbro and Hasbro is satisfied after receiving their X million dollars.
>>11872943fun!>>11873001that's when you get legal armor instead
>>11873198If they weren't outsourcing everything for dirt cheap and ducking costs to scam customers they wouldn't be hit by Tarrifs>>11873245Actual and unironically mentally raped child
>>11873247>>11873259There is a leader class Starscream next year. It should be obvious what they are doing here, the Target exclusive is just the core Screamer and the Leader next year will have all the coronation accessories again.
>>11873259>Hasbro: "I consent!">Target: "I consent!">Customer: "Isn't there someone you forgot to ask?"
>>11873263>Comes with coronation set.>tfw also grey become it's also dead Starscream
>>11873263They tend to do this tacit don't they? Get the super popular figure isolated as an exclusive and then later rereleases them again but with more junk to inflate the price.
>>11873263which will also be an exclusive
>>11873265It's rather a shock the Target one wasn't that version since the other two this year were damaged Prime and Megs. Same with the Insecticons, I was full expecting battle damaged decos at at least.
>the company that uses slave labor vs the company that doesn't pay a living wage vs the government making consumer goods more expensivewe live in a society
>>11873269So far the track record the last 5 years has shown they just drop it in the mainline 12+ months later.
>>11873237When has this ever, in the history of the world, worked on a non-essential good?
>>11873271meant for >>11873267
>>11873264Like they ever ask for our consent
>>11873270I think the more obvious issue is people are losing their shit missing out over a toy that they keep making new versions of over and over again, but are not shaking as bad about everything else they will never have due to what's going on. I watched a 41 yo NEET lose his shit he didn't get his Marvel figures when he should have been going insane he's in a world where he can't even escape his parents roof.
>>11873262You can’t even spell the word tariff correctly and you’re calling me a child. Shut the fuck up you mental midget.
>>11873267That hasn't been the MO for awhile, even Crasher and the G2 stuticons were being rolled out into the mainline.
>>11873179Fun idea but these products would have been out at sea back before the preorders went live, they would have arrived here weeks before the official roll out. I think they just canned the preorders then or not have them at all. What I think happen here is what always happens with Target and they don't hold preorders, they just go to the stores to get distributed and that means you are trusting the employees even know they are preorders when they get the cases in and they can hold off the crazy retards crying for toys that come into their stores. My Target got 3 cases of Screamer, Prowl and the Bugs, all were listed as in stock on the app, I was told customers forced the crews to break them out and a few days later all these preorder cancellations happen because the back room lit up with orders to be filled for items we no longer had. Again this isn't the first time they have done that, corporate just assumes all the grunts rolling out the items know everything is on hold with no warning or indicator that the stock that came to store was for preorders. Only way you can make sure you get you item is to either work there or have a friend who works there that can secure it for you.
>>11873294worth noting Walmart also does this with most of their preorders as well. They have the stores fulfill the preorders like it was a main order.
>>11873294When did this change from the old way of doing it where it went to a Target warehouse and they shipped it from there?
>>118732972020 fucked everything up, they couldn't just let product sit in the warehouses for any length so they streamlined the processes, many goods just go straight from the docks to the stores now, most warehouses operate like amazon where they hold 3rd party goods that pay a fee to be listed on Target and others are just "seasonal storage"
>>11873297No room. Some of it is >>11873299 but sales are not doing that great and they just can't afford warehouse full of junk, it's why some Target got Halloween goods back in May and June and why some are now getting Christmas products out now. They are just getting everything out to the stores and the stores are getting very full. Like Kmart before bankruptcy full, so anything that can be put on shelf is being out out.
>>11873294>>11873296>>11873297>>11873299>>11873300Also this is all there is for Warehouses in the US. There is no way all this product goes to those to just sit. More so when most of it comes from the coasts.
>>11873127That two pack was a Target exclusive too, this is all well recorded, basically any TF retail release since 1995 is archived and its availability and price recorded out there on the internet.
>>11873306And this is Walmarts, a little better but consider how many more stores they have vs Targets
>>11873272until very recently, supply and demand was a law.now they just fudge all their numbers and spin yarns for their bosses, and the roles that used to have a vested interest in the economic situation improving are now very much opposed.
>>11873284anon, those go togetheri'm currently in a shitty family home situation that's about to get worse, and anything that interferes with my ability to just have some entertainment, some toys, whatever, makes it ten times worse. because that was my escape.
>>11873306U.S. strategic nuclear target map
>>11873316Yeah for essential goods sure. For non essential goods like toys, if no one buys them, they'll just stop making them. Simple as. How many lines have you seen disappear over the years because people don't buy into them?
>>11873325essential goods can do whatever they want, they're essential. people buy them practically at gunpoint.lines disappear at random because of a random executive choice. But overall, everything does poorly, and many things continue in spite of that.
>>11873316>until very recently, supply and demand was a law.>now they just fudge all their numbers and spin yarns for their bosses,>Mattel, and its co-founders, Ruth and Elliot Handler. Stung by supply chain issues, factory fires, and slumping profits, Mattel executives cooked the books between 1971 and 1973—falsifying financial records and reporting unfulfilled toy orders (including Hot Wheels and Barbie inventory) as actual sales to deceive the SEC and shareholders. It's always been like this.
>>11873284Thanks for dropping by, anon
>>11873317> and anything that interferes with my ability to just have some entertainment, some toys, whatever, makes it ten times worse. Then you understand why they even offered it to you. Imagine how things could have been better if you had no distractions all those years ago? They made you numb to the damage you were doing to yourself. Thanks for playing
>>11873287eventually
>>11873328okay, I guess I meant, the laws worked during the sensible era, the time when toylines and cartoons were huge and made money. Not so much the 70s.
>>11873330It was just making a tease at >>11873270 even your pick relates more to that than my post, clown is trying to talk about all this fuck up stuff when he can't get his toy rather than the last few decades that got him here. Be like getting mad the fire burning down your house caught fire to some of the yard, by that point it's way to late to care.
>>11873335Numbers were cooked then as well. Look at the Enron scandal, the 2008 crash, etc, hell just how did the great depression and Black Monday events even happen?. Just how many bad situations need to happen before people get there were never "good days" it was just a question making a good life.
Takara if you can hear me, please save us
>>11873342Sorry we can't help you as China is closer and buying everything from us
>>11873306How does one of the big 2 US department stores have so few warehouses in the US? Only 10 in the entire US?!
>>11873350technically some of those have two in those dots Such as Pennsylvania and New Jersey both have one in that dots location but it's because what was already mentioned: those warehouses are not mean to store anything long term, it's like a truck pit stop where everything that gets there, leaves usually in the same day. It's suppose to work like a sorting system for the stores where everything gets there gets loaded to trucks asap and then get moving. It's like how UPS and FedEx work, the stores are not suppose to hold things for any length, they are meant to move the product as soon as it gets there.
>>11873354> It's suppose to work like a sorting system for the stores where everything gets there gets loaded to trucks asap and then get moving.Correct and this is never done right which is what leads to those horror stories where one anon checks 9 Walmart's for Ghost Viper and finds nothing while the other anon near a warehouse has an endcap with 40+ of the figure.Trucks just dump everything close by and say "good enough" because the goods are not "evergreen" items that have to be at all stores so they are cataloged in the distribution programs properly.

>>11873491Your half right, they worked because the bubbles didn't burst, they worked because they could influence the money with other cash they had, they worked because someone would take the hit. What you saw was when it worked for you rather than a functioning system that you always thought was there. It's like someone eating 5000 calories a day, to then become morbidly obese, and complain how eating that much when he started wasn't making him "fat" and something must have changed because he was eating clean and exercising when the reality was he was always reckless with volume and paid the price for it. These actions and bad practices have always been a thing it's just a question of how long they can keep it up vs when it's time to pay the piper. >>11874039I know, I'm just using Starscream as an example due to this latest cancelation making it questionable why people are at the level of outrage as if their collection is now incomplete without this Starscream. I see everyone or maybe just one person is having a breakdown over Starscream but don't forget to get your earthspark soundwave and cosmos :)
>>11874081>Their last Starscream should be enough for them to say "this is shitty but oh well".This is pretty much my mindset right now. The new one looks much better than the ER one I have, but I'll be alright. It's not like this is going to detract me from collecting altogether. I do think some folks are making too big of a deal about this. Like you say, yeah it sucks, but oh well.
>>11874085It's definitely more than one guy, as we can see on the TFW forums. Dozens and dozens of posters are melting down about this. What's wrong with the Earthrise ver? He looks serviceable to me. Too small?
>>11874100He is imo. Yeah, the new one looks a lot better, but the ER one is perfectly fine. It's the one I have on my shelf and will be for the foreseeable future unless I somehow stumble upon the SS86 at a random Target.

Starscream is the single worst character to have fumbled this badly. Starscream himself is one of the most detestable cartoon characters ever conceived: a cowardly, treacherous, self-obsessed failure whose defining traits are incompetence, desperation, and an almost pathological need for attention. And then there’s the old saying that we tend to see something of ourselves in the characters we love. If that’s true, Starscream fans have some serious explaining to do.There is no character whose fanbase seems to embody the character’s worst qualities more completely. The level of unironic manchild behavior surrounding Starscream is genuinely extraordinary. To not merely enjoy him, but to deeply relate to him, requires such an astonishing degree of self-identification with cowardice, insecurity, treachery, and pathetic ambition that it borders on psychological self-parody. This Target debacle has unearthed the worst of this community and unleashed them upon the general public.
>>11874152Seems like you're blaming the victims here, anon. Target is the one who opened preorders it couldn't fulfill and then canceled them.

>>11874193I think what Anon is saying is he DOES enjoy playing with it, but not transformingmaking it move into different poses, perform actions, etc.. that part's fun, but changing the toy's two modes isn'tthe inverse would be a flip-changer, where transforming it is fun, but the result is a brick
>>11874109Inferno and Roadblock are both excellent, in every mode as well, pants have a smart transformation and shirt has cool cannons
>>11874197anon transforming is part of the play pattern, whenever you transform it or not does not matter as that is for you to decide, i just think those people saying "muh articulation muh transformation" are just people that are ashamed of owning toys for playing
>>11874193Articulation of the robot mode matters more to some. Joy of the transformation matters more to others.
>>11874203yes, and the legs are part of the bodybut you can say you like how someone looks, you just think they have shitty legs. that's how 'parts' work. liking any part, means you like it. disliking a part doesn't necessarily mean you dislike it on the whole. It just means that it's definitely not perfect to you.
Is Big Convoy worth it at full priceI'm so tired
Man, I don't even wanna pay $25 for a Voyager when I find one at freaking Ollies, fuck paying $30 retail for a fucking Deluxe LMAO.Shit's really gone straight downhill with Transformers these past few years, and they still manage to make things worse, goddamn. The day Hasbro gets theirs will be a sweet one, I'm telling 'ya.
>>11874222No
>>11874227Oh
>>11874225Why do you type like someone who gets anons to jerk off on /v/
>>11874222>are you a Beast Wars collector? Yes >are you just bored and looking to grab something? NoI really like him. He’s got shelf presence and he’s actually fun to transform. His kibble is slightly obtrusive to his articulation but it’s not the least bit floppy or unwieldy like the original. His biggest flaw is his kinda small and his proportions are a bit squat. I use his heel spurs to get his legs looking more dynamic. As for the Mammoth mode, I only wish they had done something to cover his chest up. It’s pretty awkward looking. Finally I am really tempted to paint his eyes green like the toy bc currently his eyes look off. I see this guy sitting a lot of places, I do expect him to hit clearance prices but personally I don’t like gambling on this shit anymore bc in my area the instant they hit these prices they vanish.
>>11874225And then what? You pay the same price+price for more paint apps+ import fees or more for Takara's stuff? You buy the $60 3P Legends figures?Who saves you from Hasbro prices?
>>11874225Most likely Hasbro will transition to selling some other kind of product in place of toys, so I'm skeptical the company will ever collapse from their misdeeds
>>11874230I wanted a Big Convoy for years, but was rather unenthused about the figure and Hasbro in general these days. From some photos and angles, it looked like he lacked presence compared to the original, both in terms of height and width, whereas in other photos he looked fine. I never expected him to do that much in mammoth mode other than exist, the chest being visible is a bit disappointing but probably the least worst part to see. I grabbed Grimlock for similar prices recently and he's alright, I think if he can at least pose well, is fun to transform back and forth endlessly, and at least in robot mode has a wide presence, AND goes on sale, I think he'd be alright to buy I think.
>>11873784>anon, they're massive and ridiculousyes that's why they're cool. The original had claws big enough to crush basics and hold deluxes. That's fun play value. I'm glad you will never work on real toys.
Uhh...hasbro is going to make G2 Motormaster right? Asking for a very nervous friend.
>>11874240Yeah, they said so at SDCC.
>>11874236I hope the knock offs for the new seeker mold sell well

They should've made all the G2 Stunticons into OC Glup Shittos. It would've tickled my autism and made me buy them.
>>11874261Nothing stopping you from renaming them.
>>11874261Oh, dang! All they had to do was print some different names on the box and THATS what would have got you to finally plunk down the dosh, eh?
>>11873969I’ve never gotten a G1 Starscream, and the SS mold is really good. I’ve only semi recently been actually getting together a G1 lineup.
>>11874257it's somewhat crazy that this G2 stunticon theme started back in 2022 and 5 years later Hasbro still hasn't finished it.
>>11874261Didn't they do that with Dragstrip?
>>11874239by all means, scale him up! I'm super okay with his claws still being able to hold deluxes. We're just tweaking proportions here.
>>11874225You are going to pay $55 for a "Premium" boat that stands on the smaller half of a deluxe.
Toys will die by the end of this decade so better enjoy it while you can
>>11874111I dropped out of buying for a while and I'll be honest, I never really looked up what I had missed but assumed I had seen mostly everything already. But I somehow missed a brand new Optimal Optimus that can also transform into his original robot mode?
>how many versions of (insert character) do you need?Just one version that is representative of the character should be enough if you are not a die hard completionistLike this thing is more than enough to act as MP blaster to go with your Soundwave unless you are a Blaster collectorWith the main line going full cartoon accurate (as best they can, of course). Unless you started collecting a decade ago, there is no reason for you to have more than 2 similar size versions of the same character in 2026. Like did you people actually brought ER Megatron when siege was more functional and superior than ER? And the last good G1 meg before Siege is Titans Return which is almost 10 years ago?
>>11874325Maybe "toys" will, but there will always be things for collectors. Honestly I can't even imagine kids asking their parents for a Transformer nowadays.
>>11874349what are you basing that on? I mean maybe 3d printing will survive, but industry on the whole is going to crash pretty hard. I don't think there's going to be any more injection molders. Can you really imagine a modern young person growing up to operate one?
>>11874349kids WANTS transformers but they do not want the gimmick slop, they want the studio series ones, and its a problem when you have pokemon card tier mafias around
>>11874353This, if you look at any toy reviewer for Transformers or Godzilla there's a ton of kids in the comments who clearly want these toys, but they aren't in their price range. They know the forbidden fruit and can't settle for cheap crap that looks much worse than things in the same budget range from 20 years ago.
Do illegal migrants buy Transformers?
>>11874325Maybe toys you buy, mine are fine. Actually getting my hands on them though is a different story...

>>11874230I wish hasbro would reverse engineer beastformers from their beast mode first, this is a great example why. >>11874353>>11874367>but they do not want the gimmick slopIt's collectors that don't like gimmicks. Gimmick slop has worked for a good 30 years. The real problem with nu-formers is the abysmal engineering and quality. Kids just want fun figures and the figures they're getting aren't fun.
>>11874582this has not been the case in the last 10 years when the gimmick is so unbeliably shoddy, shit man i've seen some kids setting up for core class kingdom figures back when those were a thing
>>11874236>You buy the $60 3P Legends figures? These figures have more articulation, better paint, more accessories and swappable hands. The problem with collecting is that so many of them are doing it out of obligation to fill the nostalgia void in their soul instead of just collecting because they like transforming toys.
why are transformers fans gay and sad and only care about the dumb lore of this series and not the actual toys?
>>11874605I get the opposite impression. When do they ever talk bout lore except the most normie parts of G1 that everyone knows?
>>11874607Most of the lore is contradictory or just stupid to begin with
>>11874236>56.99>3.9 inch figureShit's fucked. I might hate hasbro but at least they can make figures bigger than the palm of your hand for that price.
>>11874120>hard to ignore how they just straight up deleted a whole alt mode from the designThat is bullshit. But, at the same time, at least they added the gorilla hoverboard mode. If I were a Transformer and I had to get somewhere in a hurry, I'd definitely opt for that over the ground assault vehicle mode.
>>11874609Yeah, why go small when you could go big
>>11874230So, I bought the new one, and a few months later found the original in an estate sale lot. They're both good for different reasons. The new one is the most practical: everything fits together nicely and the transformation sequence makes sense. He holds poses better in robot mode, and you really don't have to worry about any joints or kibble flopping about. Unfortunately, it feels like the new model misses the design vision of the original. His proportions are squat and unimpressive. It feels like they also didn't choose to embelish his asymmetry in robot mode. His arms and legs just feel too short. The designers also included features which aren't fully, ehh.., actualized? His anchor misses and tonfas are present, but both are pitifully small and near-nonfunctional. They are present in name only. He's not bad, I DO like him, he just seems that the designers "watered him down" to make him work.
>>11874230>>11874650The original Big Convoy has a lot to love. There's plenty of missile launchers and play features, and the springs all seem like they've held up marvelously. Beast mode even has a soft plastic trunk that moves up and down via a lever in his head! The tusks are also made of a flexible plastic, easier to notice if you happen to heat it up. Robot mode features Vac-metal eyes and a matrix, as well as clear red plastic for one arm and his chest plate. There's everything to love about the presence this guy brings to a shelf, and he. Is. HUGE. Big Convoy dwarfs the original Magmatron like nothing else. Size-mogs like it's his job. His cannon can also be held in one hand, so he can wave it around like a pistol if you so choose. Tonfas and nice and long, perfect for beating the snot out of your other figs. Unfortunately, the guy is a floppy, kibbly MESS. Actually setting him up for a pose is a project in and of itself. Nearly every piece of mammoth is attached via ball join, strut, or both, and it just makes handling him a nightmare. His leg guns are the least issue out of all the kibble, because they rest on collapsible cylinders that slide into the calf and clip in. The transformation is pretty awful too. Everything needs to slot in perfectly to result in an elephant-shaped brick. He's alright to look at, but certainly not impressive. His belly or fur hangs so low at the midsection that he almost seems ball-shaped. I was thrilled to buy this, and still am to own it, but at this point I'm hoping for a masterpiece budget big Convoy that fixes the flaws of both of these guys. There's plenty to love, but neither are perfect. I'll post pics of the old toy after work.

>>11874508NTA but look up the July 8 2026 customs rule changes. Anything imported with a customs code conceivably for children now requires a child safety cert, which are usually handled b2b. There is no exemption for small or single item shipments. Customs is also being super strict about what safety docs they will accept. Ostensibly this was because of china knockoffs and cheap dollar store tat with dangerous materials, but it effectively killed individuals' ability to import anything toy or toy-adjacent.

There was a time, not too long ago, where pre-ordering meant you were actually guaranteed to get your figure (as is the whole point). People jump through hoops to pre-order these things during a narrow release window only for Target to go "lol nah j/k". I can certainly see why people are upset. Someone was asleep at the wheel here, either Hasbro or Target or more likely both. It's like that Seinfeld episode when the restaurant took his reservation without actually holding it.

>>11874336>But I somehow missed a brand new Optimal Optimus that can also transform into his original robot mode?the genesis of it was amusing, basically they set up a vote for who would be the new POTP Prime toy, with Primal being the one non-G1 choice, with a lot of people assuming they were trying to load odds in favor of characters like Magnus, Deathsaurus, Star Saber, or Arcee. but having one BW character meant all the BW fan votes went to Primal and tipped the scales. Hasbro was probably dumbfounded by this which is why POTP Optimal is sort of a hodgepodge of ideas. Star saber and Deathsaurus would go on to be realized as haslabs, but we never would learn what the other plans would've been. Some might've been reworked in later lines.Magnus probably would've just been his white Optimus base into Magnus, Shockwave might've has his Siege armor. Arcee, Hound, and Megatron would presumably have gotten new designs. Thunderwing would likely have his Ultra Armor from IDW

It's not satisfying, and Google images can show what he looks like just as well. If you want him, more power to you! I forgot to mention the amount of articulation in his arms. It's all balljoints and hinges, but they're tight enough that it really works. If you'd like him, buy him, but don't overpay. You won't be transforming him back and forth for fun. As a display piece, he's great. As a desk figure, go with the new model.
>>11874957
>>11874821>>11874957>>11874959A final comparison photo for you, anon. Out of the two, the Original release is definitely the pretty boy, but the newer version is the more practical figure. The best version would have the panel folding kibble that our new release sports, with the proportions and aesthetic that the og uses. They're both great, but I have an inkling of a feeling you'll be able to buy the new one for around $30 this year. I hope this helps!
>>11874957I agree with the anon who points out he is not perfect. I really don't care for the silly segmented rubber trunk.do his shoulders actually pivot up and down like that? Or are they just always tilted? man I need to go check my copy. We need a lot more of that joint in toys, yknow let the guys put their arms forward for flying/swimming heroic moves
>>11874970Here are his articulation points. The shoulders do pivot! It's a transformation thing, but we take those wins too
>>11874973exactly. that's what made 90s transformers so good. I have a lot of issues with the japanese exclusives for their tendency to add bizarre gimmicks, awkwardly include the beast kibble such as shellforming, and just generally forget how to be cool, but... you can't deny they have amazing joints and great transformation clearances and junk.
>>11874928Buy the four pack, you get a Sunstorm and three pieces of custom fodder you can mess up on
>>11874999YOU'RE CRAAAAAAZY
>>11874967Thanks for the write-up anonI've got a Blue Big Convoy but Encore Big Convoy has entered my sights as well and I've been starting to keep feelers out for one

>>11875029>Encore Big Convoyencore as a whole is such a massive shitfest that better not

>>11875058I wish I could say I'm surprised by the "it didn't work the last 3 times, let's keep doing it until it does" mentality of modern businesses, but that's how every female in my family behaves. >>11875055>MW Megatron is a Deluxe>RID Skyfire is a VoyagerWhy? These molds are supposed to be the same size. MW Megatron will be shorter than the potential MW Thundercracker and Skywarp. BWII Thrust will be shorter than Dirge.
>>11875056Potentially cool.
Might be able to get a Thunderclash if they are going down the MW route.
>>11875058I hope so, I love the old deluxe jet molds>>11875110My guess is that Skyfire is a retool or redeco that was planned before they knew they were making an updated MW mold so Dirge and Thrust will probably both be made out of the new mold instead
>>11875056I hope it scales with the Hot Wheels collabs
>>11875115Supposedly Motormaster has had a Thunderclash retool ready since Legacy.
>>11875120then why the fuck they arent releasing it
>>11875128They can't even get G2 Motormaster out.
>>11875056They will probably fuck it up big time but I really hope its good. Just refine Animated Blurr's transformation.
>>11874876This image is funny because it combines two things I like, but at the same time my Idolmaster lore autism is deeply triggered by it. First, whenever we see Risa spending her own money by herself it tends to be at cafes and such (and she is usually accompanied by Rika and Mary then). Second, there is a piece of official art where we see her at a toy store, and as you can see, her preference is clearly plushies, play pretend adult stuff and snacks - there are some mecha toys in the background, but you'll notice none of them are near her basket. Three, one of the extra chapters in the U149 manga has Momoka confused about the idea of candy toys, and Risa is the one to explain them but lacks the emotional reaction to them others (like Haru) demonstrate. Therefore, while funny, this idea just doesn't sit right with me. Perhaps next time try having the image feature Tokiko looking with contempt at the viewer for purchasing a Starscream or Reina buying several of them just to sell them for ridiculous scalper prices...just my two cents :)
>>11875120I did not know that. Was this just for Motormaster or were there rumors of retooling the remaining Stunticons into the other 4 car based Turbomasters too?Would of been neat to see either way I guess.
>>11875134Not the slopper but I read all of this

Uhhh if it's not too much trouble, could you have OG Big Convoy just the way he normally is, but make Legacy's profile as wide and impressive as possible? You should have an idea of what I mean because you have the original toy.>I have an inkling of a feeling you'll be able to buy the new one for around $30 this yearIt's 77 CAD or 55 USD right now, what do you know anon, what are you planning on doing to bring the prices down, I'm frightened

>>11875096racer X recolor is certainly likely
>>11875146He's a classic shellformer, and while I think people exaggerate how hard his parts are to get lined up (I've definitely had worse), they are not super easy, and none of them feel SUPPORTED in beast mode. The beast mode is quite hollow-feeling. a little tab here and there is all you get to keep it steady>>11875159I think he meant a REAL leader
>>11875158Gimme. Also>implying that we'll ever get as decent of a sale like that in Canada as the States seem to routinely doI don't know if we ever got those clearanced titans that you guys seemed to regularly get>>11875175>people exaggerate how hard his parts are to get lined up (I've definitely had worse)I have Break and somewhere there should be Dead End and they were rather rather difficult to deal with as a kid, particularly Dead End to get perfectly right. Try finding a copy of the latter if you ever worry you have low blood pressure
>>11875181Dead End? I assumed he just folded up and fit into the shell halves. like, the shell looks significantly roomier than it needs to be, as if the robot mode should have been scaled up to be more proportionate. I mean, the beast mode non-shell parts are already his entire torso
>>11875158Ross sounds useful, but the nearest one is about 40 minutes away by highway.
>>11875158Wow
>>11875055I've got the OGs but I like clones
>>11875188I couldn't tell you, since it's been over ten years since I hid him somewhere away at home to be a fossil for my other robots to find, but the angling had to be perfect for the shell halves to close perfectly, otherwise you'd have unsightly gaps: it literally came perfectly closed in the packaging and then it was difficult to replicate
>>11875214man that sounds dumb.. so weird that that happened.
What mold are we expecting for MW Megs? Or is this one for MW Screamer?
>>11875223That'll be MW Botcon Megaplex
>>11875223I believe MW Megatron will be a repaint and retool of Needlenose since he's a Deluxe class. Unless Mark the designer somehow manages to make a new mold for him which I doubt. MW Starscream is definitely a repaint of Legacy Skyquake.
>>11875223It'll definitely be that mold but I hope they do it right and retool the thruster cape onto him, gives it a very distinctive look.
>>11873567Upscaled means it's the exact same mold but bigger. It is absolutely not the same mold as the Classics seeker.
>>11873757What the fuck are you talking about? Shrink the legs and claws down? What for? The huge kibble is part of his design, he's supposed to be this massive, hulking monster and the wide shoulders and huge legs help sell that.
>>11875249I could easily take Rampage

>>11875062Machine Wars is cool, that's why.
i usually didn't care about pricec in this hobby but this is the first time i'm finally priced out of the hobby...I won't be able to complete Bruticus.Onslaught costs amolst 200 euros on ebay because there is no way to find it anywhere.I got just Vortex and it was 28euros which is INSANE. it's...like i bought Vortex last August in another world... There is no way im spending all those money (Brawl is around 80 eur what the fuck?!) on Bruticus.Starscream can go fuck himself.PS:The only cheap thing that i want to buy is that blue Grimlock. he's still around 40 eur and nobody wants him.I will get that grimlock and get out of this hobby. it can go fuck itself.fuck transformers.PS:I wanted to buy Onslaught with Klarna in 3 payments (around 50-60eur each month)....but what the fucknow we are buying transformers and being in debt?what a souless garbagePPS:At least i have Devastator. it's insane how cheap he was compared to what came next...
>>11875229I'm annoyed we're getting this bland ass deco before G1 skyquake
>>11875314>Brawl is around 80 eur what the fuck?!What? I'm European too and Brawl was 42 (already too much anyways). Also Onslaught releases at the end of the month, keep searching to see if some store has stock then and stop looking at retarded ebay prices.
>$30 deluxes by the end of the yearand the worst part the fandom will keep eating it like good goym
>>11875401even if the economy and tariffs get unfucked any time soon (they won't) I guarantee hasbro will keep the new pricing scheme. shit sucks.
of course they're getting price raises loltarget just told hasbro to fuck off with an entire wave because it wasn't worth it for them to deal with
>>11874773It was a car rental reservation.
>>11875396my amazon has just Swindle for preorder. Everybody else is out of stock or overpriced.I just pre ordered him.fuck it...i will build Bruticus and it will be my last transformer. my amazon don't have Onslaught anymore - i wanted to buy him yesterday for 100 eur but...he went out of stock. Maybe your country is different.i will be fine building bruticus as a budget-stretched project over a few months I guess.WOW IS THIS FUN?IS THIS WHAT HOBBY WILL BE NOW FOR US GAMERS????
Hoping leaders stay $60 for 2027 at least.Would be surprised if they go to $65 though.
>>11875407this garbage is not an excuse specially since target just told toys in general to fuck off, not just hasbro>>11875403it's very transparently just greed, i don't give a shit if i kept being called a poorfag but once i get g2 grimlock and maybe big convy i'm done with this shit and just straight up go with knock offs

>>11875314I'm waiting for a complete set like they did with Menasor, but with the deluxe price hike I'm terrified of the price.
With this said why is people so harsh on figure packs? aren't they technically cheaper than buying them individually?
>>11875453>I'm waiting for a complete set like they did with Menasorwho the hell wants to pay all that price at once?complete set bruticus will be super giga expensive as well due to him being more wanted by people and current resellers marketThe whole point of combiners if you can just buy 1 toy once (spending around 20bucks on 1 limb) in a while until it's all complete as a robot.
>>11875413>- i wanted to buy him yesterday for 100 eur but...he went out of stock. Maybe your country is different.Onslaught's Amazon preorders are also sold out in my country, what I'm saying is that just after the release date maybe you can find more stock if you search, wouldn't be the first time this happens.
>>11875456Because a lot of the time people only want a couple of figures, if not only one figure, from the set and have to buy a bunch of unwanted figures in order to get them

>>11875158Im so sick of seeing these amazing ross finds bros, i have 3 near me and none of them ever have shit, i guess i should check in more frequently...
Eh...i was excited for Bruticus at first but there are some parts of it that made me stop caring.1) Swindle is way too yellow and it triggers me with how much he stands out. Just buy Brawl - he's the best as a single transformer.2) I hate how his legs crack in the middle if you pose him.3) Those prices. Blastoff and Swindle are huge ripoffs. If you are not a huge turbo dork - don't buy him. You will be just fine without this expensive huge toy.PS:It blows my mind how great SS86 Devastator is compared to Bruticus. Devy is basically PERFECT.and he has even articulated hands while Bruticus has tiny fists. why... whatever
What the designer of the new Studio Series seeker did was kept the exact same incorrect proportions from the Masterpiece. Yolopark actually perfected the proportions, shoulda copied that. Pic rel, Yolopark on the left MP on the right
>>11875496The reasons you listed are the exact reasons I decided against him. Swindle’s yellow and the retarded ankles were dealbreakers for me. Unfortunately I preemptively sold my CW set so now I have no Bruticus. I also sold my Defensor mistakenly assuming he would be started by now.
Wow, already got my Jem Blaster. Nice.
>>11875500>retarded ankles were dealbreakers for meIt's the main dealbreaker for me. i imagine every time i would want to pose him i would cringe because i don't want to "break" his legs so my autistic fart-brain would stop me from making cool poses because i would think he has his legs broken ...
>>11875503He’s completely fucked from the knees down. Ankles be damned the actual problem is the leg bots are about 50% of the size they should be. He very much has the proportions of a midget or somegnome or something as a result

>>11875519When they ship.
>>11875518I personally don’t have a problem with them but I can understand how it could be annoying for people trying to collect certain groups, like the Deluxe Insecticons or the Decepticon Headmaster Jrs>>11875519Next year when they ship

I love the SS86 seeker mold and I'm glad I grabbed a Starscream from Ali mere days before the whole Target deal exploded and made him skyrocket in price, he's really cool. I'm only missing Skywarp who's on his way. As for Bruticus I'm waiting for Onslaught and Swindle to get here but other than Vortex who looks really cool, but is a little flimsy, Brawl and Blast Off are really neat toys on their own even without combining. Once I've completed these though... I'm not sure if I'll be buying much else with what a hassle it's become. Maybe that new Lugnut that was announced/leaked? It'll depend on how good it is.
New Bruticus can't Scramble City on account of the frame stuff, can he? I was just thinking about Takara doing a Baldigus repaint in the future, and realized he couldn't be put into his other limb configurations if that was the case...
>>11875694Typical neet lib take. So there's a rumor going around about a Megatron combiner. Does anyone know where it came from or if it's credible?
>>11875839Someone on TFW who apparently has leaked details in the past made some comment a little while back about the 2027 combiner being made up of Megatrons, but English isn't the leaker's first language, and it's unclear if it was meant to be a joke or not. But then fast-forward to yesterday's news that there's going to be a deluxe scale Machine Wars Megatron, and when you combine that with previous leaks of a voyager class G2 Megatron, and a Beast Wars Transmetal 1 Megatron, and the abundance of three upcoming Megatrons has got people thinking maybe the combiner thing is real. Unfortunately, that would suggest G2 Megs would just a be a Brawl retool, and MW Megs would likely be retooled from one of the Aerialbots. No clue if BW TM Megs would be a whole new mold, or possibly even unrelated to the combiner rumor since there aren't any obvious choices from Superion or Bruticus to retool into a dinosaur.
>>11875852>But then fast-forward to yesterday's news that there's going to be a deluxe scale Machine Wars Megatron, and when you combine that with previous leaks of a voyager class G2 Megatron, and a Beast Wars Transmetal 1 MegatronDon't forget the TLK Megatron that we saw not too long ago - there really does seem to be a lot of upcoming Megatrons.
>>11875631Gangmolding issues... This took them too long to give the Eject mold his guns, and they were gangmolded with the Jem keytar! Still, the Jem collab felt like an excuse to fit in the Kiss Players cassettes. Also, my blood boils after finally confirming that the Nexus Prime fiasco is all Hasbro and no input from Takara Tomy. Now I'm sure this time that Takara Tomy are scrambling hard at this point to complete the real Nexus Prime we all know and love from FunPub for their New Legends line. After seeing what the fuck they did to Landquake by making him a jet, I am already convinced to say enough is enough, and put the whole thing in the dirt for Takara Tomy to clean up.
i know they need to reuse the molds, but why do they make shit like this and clear red optimus? does anybody actually buy them?
>>11875863Honestly, the best we can hope is Takara pulling a Menasor and just doing the whole thing as a box set. They can reuse the Superion frame (in red and blue), but with some retooling, like a new chest piece.
wheres enemy anyway
>>11875804>can't do land missionI can't say that bothers me all that much, but yeah.
>>11875870FUCK YOU! NO RECOLOR BULLSHIT! All they have to do is to make everyone from scratch. Design SG Heatwave to not need to detach from the frame as a standalone robot, for example, and reshell the hell out of Blast Off so that he looks a lot like Skyfall this time, including the head.
>>11875880>All they have to do is to make everyone from scratch. So all they have to do... is do absolutely everything. Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer that as well, but that's a pretty big demand for Takara just to clean up Hasbro's mess, so I don't know how likely that'd be.
>>11875852That all sounds like bullshit to me unless Hasbro wants a repeat of Nexus prime by making another frame combiner with no frame.
>>11875869I could have seen buying shadow Panther if they used the tigatron mold instead of inexplicably using cheetor
>>11875873another box set with Soundwave three years from nownot Soundblaster because that would make sense
>>11875889that's because he was always a nemeis prime deco for cheetor, he never used tigatron as a base
>>11875893why do you think that instead of thinking the more obvious other way? he was always meant to be 'kind of Ravage' and Ravage in BW even used Tigatron's face. plus a tiger looks more like a jaguar/panther than a cheetah does.
>>11875897because he LITERALLY was a cheetor redeco before ravage was introduced in the cartoon, while said season ravage debuted in quite literally killed interest in beast wars over there in nipland
>>11875900the original cheetor toy's mold was a tiger. that was the initial concept for the toy, cheetor came later, when obviously they went "oh wait, smaller yellow guy, Bumblebee, of course" but shadow panther was not 'literally a cheetor redeco and not a tigatron redeco' because it was the same mold.>season 3 badthat's not a valid argument
>>11875839>>11875852I’m taking overall with a grain of salt since one of the AoEv leaks also said the main theme is meant to be the rise of Megatron after the fall of the Primes, so there being a ton of unrelated Megatron molds also makes sense to me>>11875891Who do we think is going to come with Soundblaster? I’m assuming it’ll be a new Ratbat for sure, and then maybe Wingthing and Flip Sides/Enemy. Either that or they do new mold Overkill and Slugfest, but that’s really pushing it to me
>>11875903>the original cheetor toy's mold was a tiger. that was the initial concept for the toy, cheetor came latercheetor came in the very first wave while tigatron came in the third wave, whatever concepts they planned before release is irrelevant>season 3 bad is not a valid argumentit literally is as its the reason takara don't ever acknowledge transmetal designs (and also because ravage is in S2)
so you are just bad at arguing, okay.
Okay faggot, keep being in laraland lmao
>>11875904I'd be shocked if they did new molds to go with Soundblaster. best we could hope for is Enemy, Howlback, and Garboil, though I wouldn't out it past them to rehash Wingthing

>>11875915Yeah, wet paper towel usually.
>>11875924metallic
>>11875924Get both so you're prepared for the eventual toy deco set.
>>11875920>mark ruins it with a retarded gimmickIf a toy isn't ruined by a gimmick, then it'll be ruined by lack of budget, factory misassemblies (or actual design flaws) that are difficult to fix, using unofficial pictures they found online as reference materials (which are either mistransformed, a fan-made custom with wrong colors, or have stickers applied wrong, to name a few examples), or just inexplicably bizarre choices made by the designers since they know they'll be able to get the fans to double-dip by releasing a slightly improved version of the figure a few years later rather than trying to get it right the first time. We've gotten to the point where so many easily avoidable mistakes keep happening that whenever a character I like is leaked as getting a new toy, instead of being excited to see it, I find myself dreading whatever's going to be inevitably wrong with it. But then again, maybe my newfound pessimism has just as much to do with how ridiculously high prices have gotten, and maybe I'd be more forgiving if these figures were at a more reasonable cost.
>>11875852really hoping that combiner rumor was just a joke because I swear to God if they fuck up G2 Megatron AGAIN to make him a fucking Brawl repaint...It's the most straightforward tank transformation of all time how is it that the only time they actually bothered to do it properly it was the Classics Deluxe??
>>11875936Same, except I'm actually pretty happy that nobody I care about has been made in ages....but I'm hearing about transmetal megatron and suddenly I'm like, dammit. This will probably be terrible, but even if it's not, I really don't have a fun budget anymore.
>>11875937it is a very straightforward tank transformation, but I feel it still needs work. The way his hands can't clear his massive chest, and how his shins are inherently hollow, has never rubbed me right. Slight modifications, i say. Leave him looking mostly like the original, which was like my favorite transformer before Beast Wars came out. Hell, keep the missile gimmick if you can, because it was the only missile that didn't need a stupid notch at the end for a spring-loaded clip to grip onto. it just flung the shits out, like Iron Kong.
>>11875939oh and the tiny toes. Not saying make them huge, I like that he has bellbottoms on, but.. a little bigger and yknow, real hands. actually, having the hands extend out of the arms a bit would solve that AND the chest clearance issue.
>>11875937>the only time they actually bothered to do it properly it was the Classics DeluxeAnd even that one was hindered by its goofy spinning arm gimmick. Honestly, the closest we've ever gotten to a truly proper G2 Megatron update was probably the tiny legends-scaled figure from the 2008 Universe toyline. It's especially disappointing that Hasbro hasn't faithfully revisited this design at a normal scale considering their insistence on having Megatron transform into a tank. But I guess the problem is they still want his robot mode to look like his G1 gun design, and they're too scared to fully depart from that.
>>11875055>>11875056Reminder that the Mach 5 is actually a white and blue car and if it's solid white that means Hasbro fucked up looking at American exclusive merchandise again.
>>11875689He’s a music themed Transformer. That’s all.
>>11875941>But I guess the problem is they still want his robot mode to look like his G1 gun designLiterally the root issue of megatron's alt mode issue
>>11875939>>11875941I shamefully forgor about the Legends figure. If that thing just had little elbow hinges it would be perfect for the size.My ideal G2 megatron update would be something like the ER seeker where they reused the old classics seeker engineering but for the Classics Deluxe Megs. Same engineering, but with a more accurate sculpt, ankle tilts, wrist swivels, none of that stupid spinny arm shit, and upscaled to Voyager size. It's the easiest slam dunk of all time which is how you know that's exactly what they're NOT gonna do
>>11875942>Reminder that the Mach 5 is actually a white and blue carNot in the anime
>>11875942they can always make two versions, i mean we have red hot rod and pink hot rod.
>>11875926>>11875927I think I will.get both and also get the feetI doubt I will get another Bruticus recolor though and I highly doubt Hasbro can even produce one within a 5 years period. Takara might come out with a gift boxset though- battle Gaia?
>>11875852>Unfortunately, that would suggest G2 Megs would just a be a Brawl retoolDon't piss me off today seriously
>>11875937>how is it that the only time they actually bothered to do it properly it was the Classics Deluxe??Because the Hero mold was so good they didn't need to make another version of it.>>11875939Just change the arms so they work on a turntable system that way the turret can rotate. I feel like current release standards have twisted the way we see these figures and what actually made them so good.
is there a reason Transformers sucks when Americans do it but work great when Japan does it?
>>11875981It varies from shot to shot - sometimes it's all white, and sometimes it has a blue bottom half. The eyecatches before and after commercial breaks tend to show it as the latter.
>>11876025Hasnt it always been japanese engineering to some extent?
>>11876055To most extent I'll say. Every single time the American designers credit some clever transformation they mention a Takara employee. Pretty sure the American side just decides which characters to make, the decos, and what things need to be reworked on a Takara design so it doesn't go over budget.
>>11876025Japanese have higher IQs.
>>11876055Yes, Takara has always developed most of the engineering. And yes, that means also the bad figures. But you have retards like the one going "Takara is now SCRAMBLING to fix these figures and give us our beloved characters as they were INTENDED", but that guy's probably a falseflagging troll since he never actually posts any of his cool Takara figures, and he's probably just trying to start some stupid brand war like they try to do in a lot of other threads here.
Honestly I would pay extra for a Takara fix-it like Leo Convoy on a few figuers. Definitely Armada Starscream with an actual wing sword and port on his back.

>>11876304>yeah americans are great at adapting japanese things.Maybe 30 years ago but the talent pool has dried up thanks to nepohires, credentialism and the shareholder economy. Guys like Kubalsky, Siebenaler and Archer actually had some experience engineering and designed figured around the fact they would transform instead of drawing a robot and a car then calling it a dayThis is even reflected in a lot of the art too. >>11876356Shredhead, Arcee Magnus, Elita Prime, and the new Optimus designs are all really lame. Of them Shredhead is the only one that's kinda cool but it's entirely because of the cool wizard art on the van mode, everything else is just pure autopilot generic car robot design. like asking anyone off the street what they think a "transformer" looks like. And that's kind of my problem with the few original designs so far, they're so bland. There's been uglier transformers, more nonsensical transformers, and aesthetics that I just don't like, but nothing has been this bland and thoughtless to me before. >>11875852G2 Megs has been leaked as a leader class. It's likely just the 86 series retooled and would explain some of the strange part assembly like the chest.

But this time, Starscream is the exclusive.Adding to this, Prowl and his Earth mold is next to impossible to find outside a massive expensive as fuck multi pack that Hasbro has been piecemeal releasing individually, combined with the Insecticons suffering from the fact that became of how full of bullshit shelf warmers, Shrapnel and Bombshell were next to impossible to find at retail and the only option to get them is buy the Jap exclusive four pack with skywarp
>>11876912Well they can't do shit in the short term. Even longer if they decide to incentivize people to try again through the new release who had pre-orders and got cancelled for some reason.
Huh. Satsuki's Japanese VA did Blackarachnia all the and BA-likes. So Whitearachnia with a sword and abdomen or chest markings somewhat like a happy face spider seems viable.
>>11876810>Can't speak for myself but everyone says its a huge improvement over Earthrise. Not me. I prefer the Earthrise. The 86, at best, is a sidegrade. What really disappointed me was how much more posable it was supposed to be, and it isn't. Yeah, there's a (slight) waist swivel, but I got pretty good at angle faking with ER mold by twisting their legs. Meanwhile, 86 can't even fold its wings back (so actually less posable in at least one aspect than ER) and doesn't even have a display stand port, so there goes a lot of dynamic poses and displays for the supposed upgrade.
lol
>>11877004You fucking nigger
>>11876806>what makes him special over the other screamer figures? The ER screamer is badly outdated, no waist, nosecone flopping around, outdated transformation, no landing gear, etc. And the 86 one fixes all of that. So of course they made it fucking impossible to get in the US while hong kong and whoever else get it for free.
>>11876981Christ anon I get you are trying hard to downplay a clearly better figure but lol. The wings get out of the way just fine if you simply unpeg them and that (((slight))) waist swivel is enough for most poses besides robotic breaking the back shit. You completely forgot about the back bend to improve flying poses like yours too. I do agree there should've been a robot mode stand port but there's a perfect place for a stand claw behind the waist that is secure. The 86 mold also has a proper stand port for fighter instead of the awful thing on the ER.
>>11877004>43.48The fuck, when did they get so expensive?
>>11877004Sometimes at my usual Walmarts new toys take so fucking long to actually make it to the shelves that by the time they do they're already marked down. So it can be a gamble of actually fucking finding anything at all or finding it randomly at a good price, gotta love it.
>>11877025>The wings get out of the way just fine if you simply unpeg themNo they don't you fucking retard, they unclip away from the shoulder on a completely different plane of motion, but we're talking about being able to hinge and flap like a bird's wings (which they did in the cartoon) which the ER can do and the 86 cannot. All the rest is a lot of seethe and cope just because you don't agree with me.
>>11877037LOL I didn't expect you to break down crying in the first response. I'm sorry I scared you. You're right, ER is the superior toy, don't cry.

It might be a bit insensitive for me to ask this when the thread is all about how Tfs are getting more expensive, butIs this a good toy to get?Yes I have the moneyand if I do get it, I will put it next to the current Combiners
So what makes it an "Age of Evolution"?
>>11877167From the reviews I have watched it is not worth the money at all. He's small, there are loads of QC issues that lead to weak floppy joints, and the individual robots are pretty lackluster. Which is one thing for a regular retail combiner but when you're paying 500 dollars you expect quality. A new Predaking will come sooner rather than later just wait and see.
>>11877167From what I've seen hes smaller than the current line of frame combiners. I think hes cool looking though, not worth the price to me but if you really like the stylized anime aesthetic I don't think you are going to find a better looking Predaking that transforms.
>>11877153Inflation isn't real.
>>11877045Try harder, faggot.>>11877069>I need my toys to be cartoon accurate!>no not like that!I *don't* care about my figs looking like an animation cell come to life; that's your thing. But if I did...them not having an anatomical ability they did in the cartoon should be at least as much of a blemish to accuracy as perfect cartoon proportions (which the 86 doesn't have either).
>>11877182In the Binder of Revealation story lore bible, its the period that succeds the Age of the Primes. Not much really is done with it, though in the Alligned continuity it's where and when the Predacons came from.
>>11877271I won't say you're wrong for wanting a wing hinge on the SS86 mold, it definitely would be nice, but it's not remotely the issue you're making it out to be. The hinge was a necessity for Earthrise to get them out of the way of the null rays but that's simply not a problem for the SS86 mold. Moving the weapons to the biceps gives them enough clearance from the wings in most poses.
>>11877264It sure feels real
>>11877290I don't want the wings to be able to move just to accommodate the arms or null rays. I want the wings to be able to move for its own sake. The way you feel about the wings is the way I feel about the wrists. There were people beating the drum about wrist rotation a few posts up and while wrist rotation would be nice to have, I guess, ultimately I really just don't care. Meanwhile to me winged characters being able to move and pose their wings is a much bigger deal.
>>11877300Also note that the Datsun molds (both Siege and ER) can move their door wings, the Skids mold can move its wings, etc. So it's not even like hinging wings should be some impossible, super high-end MP level feature here. But because the 86 seeker ticks people's autism box of looking like sweatshop animation, suddenly they don't care.
>>11877300>>11877301Of course putting a hinge in the wings isn't impossible, my point was that it would be a superfluous piece of articulation on the SS86 mold. The examples you offered of the Datsuns and Skids don't really apply to your argument because in both cases the doors articulate the way they do for transformation, not simply for aesthetics.Again, it is unfortunate that the SS86 mold doesn't have hinged wings but clearly Takara ultimately decided it was unnecessary and that wrist and waist swivels would be far more desirable.
The wing hinge on the ER mold isn't very good anyway since it's on the middle of the wing instead of the base so the bend looks bad. Anyway I fully support giving Hasbro shit when they do retarded stuff but it's also funny to poke fun at Takara dickriders. Remember how you were tricked into getting the Dramatic Capture toys and now are reduced to defend the earthrise mold to cope? And that Takara knew we'd be getting a new, actually good seeker mold, new shockwave, new Megatron (I'll give them a pass on Astrotrain, but oh look Takara designed SS86 Astrotrain too!) Remember when they sold you pic related and carefully angled every promo picture so you couldn't see how his legs are planks (much like they avoid showing BW Galvatron's empty calves, and yes, they -could've- added a cover for them). That's not even counting all the dumb design decisions that they definitely are responsible for, or all those gewunner MPs with shit QC. Or Raiden. Or Ginrai. The funniest thing is how Takara boy starts crying immediately when any of this is pointed out to him and moves goalposts and creates excuses for his beloved japanese company because it's cool when they do it. But wait, there's more: he doesn't even own any of them, he just likes to stir shit fellating Takara when he doesn't even buy their releases.
>>11873179>>11873935>They ship all the GIJoe, Marvel Legend, Star Wars to all the Target store no issues>but they claim Target cancel the only set of figures not manufactured in Asia You guys aren't actually believing this made up bullshit right? Something went wrong for sure but the fact no one has confirmed these lies makes it clear it's just someone trying to fuck over you all. It's like how Facebook just tolls old people, the whole goal here is to make your old asses believe whatever you read.
>>11877360BWII Galvatron has a really wide A-stance and I am getting worried he won't be able to stand naturally.
847 posts without a new thread, very impressive
>>11877360Wait so who is "Takara boy" supposed to be here? The guy arguing in favor of Takara seeker design A or Takara seeker design B?inb4>hurr durr they both suck, I am le epic third party fanboy
Oh what the fuck is this shit?
Goddammit a box
I said no box I better not have been charged
Oh wow, I'll get back to you in a minute
Its been over a minute. I hope anon didn't die while trying to kill off the thread with his personal blog.
>>11877365>but they claim Target cancel the only set of figures not manufactured in AsiaVietnam isn't in Asia? GI Joe, Marvel and Star Wars aren't also made in Vietnam?
>>11877407Anon, these threads are only one of two things; blogging or bitching
>>11877407I hope he did.
>>11877402you can ask to not have a box, to get your toys cheaper??
>>11877418If they ask on Ali, yes
>>11877407>no don’t turn this into your blog about toys you bought, it’s my blog about comics and cartoons I pirate
>>11877372well spam of images will help the guy make his new thread where he can talk to himself a lot again
>>11877414>this is your brain on no new toys
>>11877430Im quite interested in his opinions
>>11877409>GI Joe, Marvel and Star Wars aren't also made in Vietnam? No, all the 6inch figures are still made in mainland China, That's Marvel Legends Star Wars, and GIJoe. Mattel makes their MOTU and Wrestlers in Vietnam which Target got plenty of for the current "geek out" event that's what makes this all strange is it's just the Transformers that went this bad, just about everything else had it's distribution just fine.
>>11877432Yes yes I'm sure (You) are. Enjoy your kingdom of samefagging.

>>11877436Don't involve me in your faggotry
>>11877407I'd much rather have an anon share his experience regarding a new KO of a highly valued mold than the usual yapping. Most anons don't even post pictures of their toys.
>>11877436honestly it's rather fun to think most of this thread was some desperate anon just spamming post over and over again to just try and get replies from real anons.
>>11877438Then why didn't he share it instead of multiple pointless pictures of opening a box at the end of a thread? I'm interested in the KO too, I'll probably buy a Sunstorm version.
>>11877433You sure about that?
>>11877433>>11877444Factories are split and you can find just as many that show both, for example, the retro carded ML Onslaught states it was made in China like most if not all the retro carded X-men figures, likewise the Black series will have China but the first editions for Target that rolled out recently were Vietnam.
>>11877438If you want shared experience 4chan isn't the place for it.Not anymore at least.
>>11877436And yet...>>11877438>I'd much rather have an anon share his experienceExcept that's not what's happening, he's just attention-whoring and posting pictures of a fucking box.>Most anons don't even post pictures of their toys.I agree with this 100%, but I also post pics of my bots all the time, so can't help you there.
>>11877444>Which is a KIND of China
