These mtg figures got their msrp raised to 46.99 awhile after they came out didn't they? Any hope this wave will still be 39.99?

I don't recall that. I only got battle damaged Spidey and Man Wolf and they were discounted. Hell, Target accidentally sent me two Spidey's when I ordered him so really, it was even cheaper than the discounted price I paid.

I like waist swivel. Anyone who prefers the diaphram ball joint is a LARPer. Single joint elbows can be preferable as long as they’re able to reach an acute angle past 90 degrees.

Double elbows wouldn't really work with arms that thick.

I dunno what you're talking about but I'm able to get the figure into pretty much any pose I need him to, except for the thunderclap which, I don't even really remember the Prof using. I'm able to recreate the iconic cover, so that's good enough for me imo.

>>waist on a swivel
I don't get why some of you make this a big deal.

>>shoulders placed way too low on frame
They do this to accommodate the butterfly joint. They could switch to the ball and cap method that they've started doing with figures like Astonishing Colossus but that doesn't quite get the same range as butterflies.

>>no toe joints
Probably so nothing would interfere with the bunny slippers. They are on there pretty snug.

Really it just sounds like you're coming up with things to bitch about for the sake of it. Your opinions aren't objective fact anon, just because you don't like something doesn't mean everyone else has to.

They don't get quite as much forward and back range as most figures, it's pretty close and the ability to move the shoulders up and down more than makes up for it, but it's still slightly less, unless it's on the front of the Hulk, since Hasbro didn't want to cut into his pecs to give it decent forward range, but other figures that have more regular sized cuts get more range.

>Double elbows wouldn't work arms that thick? have you seen storm's zangief
You mean the figure that has the elbows with the same range of motion as Hulks? Not really a good argument, I personally don't care if the joint is single or double if it's getting essentially the same range of motion either way.

>>
>>11875828
Doom 2099 is a universe hopping Doom ala Rick Sanchez. He came from a universe where Reed managed to keep Doom from doing the experiment that disfigured him so his face never got fucked up. While fucking around with his time machine this Doom found how to travel the multiverse and ended up in the 2099 universe, where he found Latvervia under the control of an evil cyborg who disfigured Doom's face and left him to die. But a bunch of gypsy cyberpunks nursed Doom back to health and helped him build a new set of armor.

Most of the run is Doom in a William Gibson cyberpunk novel... Then Warren Ellis took over and ditched all the cyberpunk stuff and wrote him like regular Doom except he manages to conquer America.
>>
>>11875832
Most nerds stopped reading Doom 2099 after the first couple of issues or only read the last couple of issues from the Ellis run. As such, it's not well documented online who exactly Doom 2099 really was, especially since Orlando, Spencer, etc who writes modern day 2099 stuff wrote him under the debunked fanon that Doom 2099 was the real Doom slumming around in the future when he and Reed were presumed dead

why not take this to the extreme and just buy a statue? I mean, you're just gonna leave it on the shelf in one pose so why bother with articulation at all? You're starting to sound like McFarlane fanboys. Just buy a statue
>>
>>11874940
Firestar comes to mind because that's needed to complete Maximum Carnage, and they haven't thrown us any figures to do that lately.
>>
I want to collect more Spider-Man (series) figures, but all of his villains are in this grey area where they’re like 4-5 years old so they’re somewhat antiquated with pins and weird faces, and have inaccuracies. But they’re also extremely expensive, if I wanted to get a basic Vulture figure it’s $70. They need to do a six pack with the updated Sinister Six. Or 3 two packs, or something.
>>
>>11875638
This is why single jointed elbows are good btw. Star Wars Black Series has great single jointed elbows.
>>
Should I get Maximum Hulk or wait?

Some more Broodverine. Fun figure, really love how wide the jaw can open.
>>
>>11875934
Funny, I was thinking how nice double-jointed elbows and properly-implemented ball/swivel wrists would be as I was hacking on a Remnant Snowtrooper, trying to get some better-than-minimal functionality out of the bastard.
>>
>>11875934
>this is why single jointed elbows are good. because...fat character arms can't bend more than 90 on double jointed elbows
what kinda retard logic is this? dont get me wrong, single joint can achieve more than 90 even on thin characters, rarely a complete fold but it just looks ugly as can be seen on newer mafexes. absolutely retarded design.
>>
>>11876040
boys fans deserve to suffer
but if mafex ever made firecracker, I'd buy her
>>
>>11876040
Honestly, what does it matter what type of joint it is if they're going to give similar ranges of motion. Sure, double jointed works with thinner characters but the Zangief example posted earlier shows that double elbows on thicker characters get about the same range as a single jointed elbow. So if that's the case, I'd prefer single elbows since it breaks up the sculpt less. I don't think that figure looks bad. In fact for bare arms and legs I prefer single joints. Double jointed knees on bare legs looks so bad. Look at the ML Gwenpool for any further explanation. So, I can see why Mafex is doing single elbows on its short sleeved characters.
>>
>>11876054
the upcoming moon knight has the same style joint, even peacemaker and robin. iceman seemed to have normal joints
>>11876062
its like you didnt even bother reading. the issue with singe joint elbows in my post was that it looks fucking ugly. if you looked at zangief's elbow >>11875638 here it actually looks like a fucking elbow that has bones where was with hulk >>11875629 the elbow protrudes awkwardly like a chicken wing or with new mafexes >>11876040 looks like complete dogshit
>>
>>11876071
The Hulk yeah I'll give you but the Mafex Boys fig looks fine. I have Tim Drake Robin that uses the same system and my only gripe is it doesn't get the full range double elbows should, but it looks a lot better than a double elbows on bare skin. Double joints on bare skin will never look good to me and there's nothing you can do to convince me otherwise unless you think it's natural for your knee to look like a knee pad.

>>
>>11875472
>no toe joints
I've never understood the obsession with toe joints, its probably one of the least necessary POA out there. More people should be concerned about decent ankle articulation, thats the POA thats actually going to get your figure into solid poses without the need for a stand. I have so many figures that just have to stand in a neutral pose because they cant support a dynamic pose from gimped ankle range.
>>
>>11876150
you CAN have both toe and ankle joint you know? it doesnt cost figure companies much at all to implement toe joints. not having them is retarded and yes, ankle swivel is more important and hasbro seems to be the only major company retarded enough to omit it, so much so to the point that retarded ML collectors think that boot cuts are the normal standard verison of these ankle swivels when in reality it's hasbro's retarded workaround.
>>
>>11876159
actually, it being a separate part that needs to be molded on it's own is probably the biggest cost factor into a figure you can have.
>>
>>11876159
but whats the POINT of having a toe joint on a figure? I've never had my overall experience with a toy impacted by it having or not having a toe joint. I just don't understand why its such a common talking point when I never see anyone actually actively using toe joints or celebrating toe joints. It seems like a non-issue when so many other aspects of a figure's engineering are much more crucial to enjoying a toy.
>>
>>11876161
they're molded on runners and cut off. you really only need to design this in the fucking 3d software. SHF can do it, Mafex can do it, Revoltech can do it, Mess toys can do it, Jada can do it, Storm can do it, hell even Blokees's non-model kit figures can do it. This is an "issue" only unique to a company from 15 years ago which is what hasbro is since they cant stop reusing molds
>>11876167
the point is that the toe bends. what's the point of having articulation at all? go buy a fucking statue lmao
>celebrating toe joints
lol this is only something that ML fanboys do because getting a toe joint is so rare its worth celebrating. its the bare minimum for other more competent companies though.
>>
>>11876171
>if you don't care about toe joints you might as well buy a statue.

>>11876071
You’ve got things totally backwards, that Zangief’s elbow totally vanishes as his arm bends like a curly fry. Meanwhile, A-Train’s single jointed elbow actually maintains a single pointed sharp “elbow” like the way real anatomy works.
>>
>>11876150
>>11876167
It just helps a lot of poses look more natural. Or to create a point to balance the figure’s second foot on, if their leg is extending at an angle.

Of all the Maximum releases so far, he is definitely the weakest imo. Like the other anon said, I'm really not sure how well that chest piece is going to hold up in the long run. And then there's the fact it's essentially just the same as the other Hulks we've gotten except for the chest gimmick. The accessories are fine but I feel like he could've used more than just the missile. Then the heads, the heads are all just various degrees of bad, and Hasbro wasn't even nice enough to let him have the same neck peg as the other Hulks, making head swaps difficult. He's not worth it imo, and I got him for like $45 or $40, something like that. I still use the 80th Anniversary Hulk as my main display Hulk with the rest of my classic Avengers, I just have Maximum hang out with the more modern versions of these guys.

Boring, flavor of the month choice.

>>
>>11876742
Obsession was finished and shopped around for years before it got a wide release.
I just think it speaks to a lack of vision, Disney has recurring problem with casting actors because they were trending at the moment, and ultimately it just hurts a project.
Outside of Pedro Pascal, it's happened with every Game of Thrones actor they shoved into their projects.

The company wars stuff is bullshit. But it’s funny Blokees gets so much credit despite not really having a much better value proposition at around the same price, articulation and quality paint/printing. Realistically they’re pretty much on par, no? It comes down to uber-specific qualities per-figure, like Moon Knight having a cloth cape. Which is valid. Maybe if they made some sexier characters Marvel Legends wouldn’t make it’d be an advantage.
>>
>>11877385
That costs 19.99. You know, what Marvel Legends should cost.
>>
>>11877395
The articulation is clearly better than MLs. MLs only have hinge wrists, one point at the head typically, while this has articulation at the head and neck. This has toe hinges, MLs don't except for rare cases, usually costing more. They also just have waist cuts rather than ball hinges at the waist, and some female MLs only have one torso joint. Where blokees actually suffers is in missing paint, the fact you have to build it yourself, and their ABS plastic is much more fragile than MLs so they have to be handled more carefully.

My brother in Doom. I've been maining him too, his moveset just clicks with me in a way none of the other characters have so far. Though I'm playing around with Magneto too now that I've gotten somewhat comfortable with the basic mechanics of the game and he's fun too, though he does sort of feel like Doom Lite to me due to also being a zoner.

I don't have a Doom figure in my collection currently, but everyone says Mezco Doom is awesome. I'm holding out for some kind of MvC Doom. I love Victor, but not to the point where I'm willing to pay nearly 200 dollars for a figure that falls a little outside the purview of what I collect.

And I hope we got some Tokon figures eventually, but who knows? I think the designs kick the shit out of Rivals, but fighting games are always going to be much more niche in popularity than a free to play hero shooter.

>>11878229
Tokon is basically a UMVC3 that isn't miserable to play. And that's always the struggle, though Tokon is maybe the most new player friendly fighting game I've ever played due to its excellent tutorials and giving everyone auto combo moves. I'm pretty garbage at most fighting games and I'm not getting steam rolled nearly as much as I thought I would. And if you hate the default designs, Steve and Tony have amazing classic skins (though they are unfortunately locked to the ultimate edition).

Might me the best Hulk yet, for me at least.

Looks kinda mcu-ish for me, but yeah definitely the best looking Hulk on the market.

I'm just saying bruh. You really spend a lot of time shitting on Hasbro to what has to amount to like twenty random people tops. Not sure what you hope to accomplish but you do you.

I actually am interested in the Green Golem. I didn't even know this company was making Hulks or any Marvel figs. Just saw they also did the Green Scar. I was just talking about how I want a figure of that version of Hulk. I may grab this 6inch+ version if it's not too pricey.
>>
>>11878532
Oh wait lmao, these are like $150-$200. I'll pass, I don't like Hulk enough to pay those prices. They do look really good though, definitely better than the Maximum Hulk, but for three times the price, I certainly would hope so lol.

I don't care what anyone says, the 80th Hulk from the 2 pack with first appearance Wolverine is still the best ML Hulk they've done. The retro carded one had the dopey looking Paul Harding headsculpt that looks bad imo and Maximum is Maximum. It's criminal how there isn't more figures of just a generic looking Hulk.

Retro carded Mysterio is getting reissued, if anyone wants that particular color scheme.
>>
>>11878570
Yeah I’ve been wracking my brain trying to decide which Hulk to get and this seems like the move. The effects that come with the Maximum are really awesome at least so I’m sure it’d be enjoyable, but the inconsistent heads and chest potentially becoming damaged sway me away from it.
>>
>>11878377
They actually really bother me since I consider pinless a straight upgrade with no downsides. Even customizers rarely ever need to have interchangeable forearms and biceps. It makes the figure so much less cheap looking. Especially figured like Spider-Man where the red pin would always stick out under his blue biceps. It really makes me sore whenever a new figure i want has pins because it just means it’s not definitive.
>>
>>11878374
I really hated how they changed the gameplay in MVC3 from 2, I could never get into it. Infinite had better gameplay, even.
>>
>>11878570
Great looking Hulk. I don't have a Hulk yet either, but Professor Hulk basically confirmed I'll get a Marvel vs Capcom Hulk if I wait long enough, so I'm holding out for that. I also want to get Hulk 2099 at some point (even if it's not the best translation of that design), but I'm waiting for that to go on sale.

>>11878595
Infinite could have been great if it didn't look like shit and was allowed to have the X-Men in the game. Alas, it came out during the reign of the Inhumans.
>>
>>11878582
He doesn't appear to have the green skull thing
>>
>>11878595
Really? I enjoyed 3 and will still reinstall it every now and again. I've never played Infinite.

>>11878604
It's under the helmet, you just can't see it because the helmet is opaque.
>>
>>11878496
Give it 20 years and they'll introduce something similar.
>>
>>11878604
Green was a special chase variant.
>>
>>11878607
If they start charging $200 for it probably.
>>
>>11878608
From the image it looks like green is what is getting re-released.
>>
>>11878611
This is the green skull chase variant.
>>
>>11878613
The retro card is a different release than the regular one. I don't recall there being any chase variants of the retro carded one, and I don't remember what the color of the skull on it was, as I only have the one you posted and the TAM release.
>>
>>11878606
I think 3 was the biggest one, really popular in it’s time and a huge fanbase. It’s not bad at all but they totally reimagined the controls and I could never get into it after having the original control scheme burned into my brain so much. It went from a 6 button fighter like Street Fighter in Marvel VS Capcom 1, to a 4 button fighter in 2, to only having 3 attack buttons and a dedicated launch button in 3. Then back to 6 buttons in Infinite, more control over what move you pull off IMO. I still would have liked to see a new MVC, but Tokon seems quality. Just have to wait for a cheap ass sale.
>>
>>11878601
>Infinite could have been great if it didn't look like shit and was allowed to have the X-Men in the game.

I waited in line for the midnight release of Infinite, guy in front of me says he’s stoked to play Wolverine, I had to tell him wasn’t in it and he walked out pissed off without buying it. Those were dark times indeed. So glad we have the X-Men back, just crazy it took an ethically questionable multi billion dollar merger.
>>
>>11878613
that's not a "variant" that's a standard BAF wave release from a 2/3 years prior to the retro carded one
>>
>>11878621
The BAF release did have a variant where one head was white and the other green. I don't remember which was which, but going off what anon said, it was the green one. I need to look at mine, I don't remember which one I have, but it's in a tub right now as the TAS one is on my shelf currently.
>>
>>11878621
Wrong. There was a white skull and green. Green was the rare one which would mean it was a variation of the white. Hence variant.
>>
>>11878626
>green was the rare one
green is the one one I've ever seen, in person and in pictures

is this not the chase version?
most of the pictures from reviews I see on google (and the promo pics) show the green one
>>
>>11878703
No, the green was the rare one. They were and still sell for over a hundred bucks.
>>
>>11878703
Google says that the green head version is one that was the running change and is rarer. I just checked mine and I have the white one.
>>
>>11878707
I wanted the white head but got the green one, you're telling me it's actually worth a decent amount of money?
>>
>>11878532
shut up dude you just can't stand hasbro criticism even though maxium hulk is universally panned and even the hardest ML collectors hate it. youre different though, youre hasbro's strongest warrior and cannot stand seeing the brand in any negative light
>>
>>11878717
If that's what you need to tell yourself lil guy
>>
>>11878713
Yes, I'm about to buy a used one for like 50. Brand new sealed last year were like 130. Now they are like 100.
>>
>>11878717
Also, I've stated numerous times in these threads that Maximum Hulk is not worth it and anyone in the market for a Hulk should get something else. But go ahead and keep making up arguments in your own head just to get mad at.

You faggots are fucking psycho and shouldn't be allowed to operate a motor vehicle.
>>
What marvel should do is just make like a definitive version of whoever and sell expansion kits made to order or something. The smaller toy companies do that and it clearly works.
>>
>>11878732
that would be a massive shift for the mass market
even with boutique shit like haslabs, there's always so much hype around the pack-in figures just as much, if not sometimes more so than the main offering
>>
>>11878731
why'd you get mad then lol
>>
>>11878743
I didn't. I just pointed out that you do this same thing a lot.
