maybe coming here everyday is just making the wait for new stuff I want feel longer
>>11877499I've still got a nice backlog of new stuff I've barely messed with yet. But I get it because part of the problem is they tease the new stuff so far in advance and then drag it out for an eternity. Like, we first saw pictures of Swindle over a fucking year ago and he's only now just trickling out (for some people, mind you).
I wonder what's the holdup on the new Haslab. At this rate Hasbro going to be asking for a few hundred bucks just before people start their Christmas shopping.
>>11877506in my case there's honestly not many bots I care about and far fewer that actually drive a toy purchase for me, and then on top of that who knows if what's available will satisfy me
>>11877487This image feels like it was made by someone who just entered the hobby
>>11877507>I wonder what's the holdup on the new Haslab.Europe.Speculation is that they're waiting until Liokaiser is released in all markets before showing off the next one and Europe aren't getting him until September.
>>11877505that actually.. works.
It's been about a minute. Right? So, yeah, no QC issues so far that stick out.
The shoulder pylon slid off with a little pressure, but it's a mushroom peg so A little glue will fix
I really like it and the price was under $30So a big fuck you to Hasbro
>>11877520>>11877525close up on the face?
Wish the converting missles were blue.Still cool.
>>11877511>Europe aren't getting him until SeptemberTaking into account we're mid August and I still haven't received the address confirmation mail, we'll be lucky if we get Liokaiser in September here in Europe.
>>11877505a daring synthesis
>>11877526He came with 3 interchangeable faces.
>>11877527Is there any place where you can get this with non rape prices for shipment
>>11877540What are non-rape prices to you? That thing is all over Aliexpress for under $30 shipped.
>>11877542Well where i live the shipment costs like nearly $200
>>11877545You're lying. Where do you live?
>>11877552north sentinel island
>>11877553Damn, you guys modernized fast
>>11877506God, those “tilts” on Bruticus look so bad.
>>11877505How do you have Sentinel already?!?
>>11877552South america, specifically inbetween the borders of brazil, the shipments cost exactly 136 bucks
>>11877553how are you enjoying fire? pretty sweet, right?
>>11877505Actually not bad but still not buying this overpiced fuck
>>11877565I wish cybertronian vehicles often had fun stuff like this.
>>11877557Your mom, that's how.
>>11877505Which Optimus is that over on the left?
>>11877560I'm seeing $9-11 shipped anywhere in South America. Try harder.

>>11877589>venezuelaHAHAHAHA
>>11877589My apologies for doubting you LOL get fucked then, I guess.
The GPS Vector Prime looks so much nicer with the other Primes.Might actually get that DNA kit for him if that pops about.
You'll not catch me buying KOs
>>11877606Good for you
>>11877606I'm perfectly fine with KOs if I know that's what I'm buying.
KO Thundercracker's face looks bloated, especially in the comparison pictures. I like the other changes though.

>I'm priced out of transformers
>>11877665I think the way forward is just watching other people's reviews of Transformers. I think I got more out of that person who sometimes posts images of ones they just got and their feelings than myself with recent ones I got.
>>11877674>big bad cuck scam priceskek good one
>>11877681Where can you find Animation Type Soundwave for below $170?
>>11877683At the moment Hobby Genki has it for $125.https://hobby-genki.com/en/transformers/96264-missing-link-d-02-soundwave-anime-type-action-figure-4904810077916.htmlMind you this is before shipping/tariff charges so it may bring you to the BBTS price. However you won't pay the taxes and shipping that you'll be charged with at BBTS/TCP/TFSource.
>>11877674Use a better website, it costs that much for me in AUD
>>11877694It will bring you to around the BBTS price. I had to pay 50 fucking dollars to ship my Color Evolution D-Arcs out of Japan so I imagine a larger item like Soundwave would be more. Especially if you're stupid enough to buy both.
>>11877735Jeez. And I thought paying 30-odd for shipping for the Pen6/7 from a HK store was a lot. Shipping has negative connotations in both common meanings.
>got Liege Maximo>got Razorclaw>got Megazarak>Jalopy and Animated Wreck-Gar look ass in person>don't care about SS86What new/current releases should I get hyped about besides Sideways?
>>11877674I know this is supposed to be sarcastic But couldn't people wait for the listing on Hasbro pulse to be up before crying about the price. I doubt it would be the same as BTS.We even have channels "threaten" to get the KO as if Hasbro/TT cares about poorfags with missing link
>>11877754BWII Galvatron.
>>11877754Commander Armada Jetfire (and Optimus if you don’t have him already)
>>11877779... he does look pretty cool. I guess I'll get him... someday..

Transformers make me happy so...whatever.I will have Bruticus. I WILL HAVE BRUTICUS!I WILLBECOME THE KING OF BRUTICUSES!!!!
>>11877506will there be an upgrade kit for Bruticus hands?he desperately need BIG bad grabby hands!is it even easy to replace his hands? Now he has tiny fists...
>go to Transformerland after a while>CW and POTP are almost cleared out of combiner figuresHuh?
Paint scratching on the new Blitzwing SS86 figure. Um, so is Overcharge worth getting at $37 instead?
Takara about to be cucked for once?
>>11878127Hasbro can actually, literally, do ANYTHING and it will be better than these.
>>11878127As a Godzilla and Sonic fan I not only have zero faith in any Transformers collab, I actually have genuine contempt for the idea.
>>11878132The optimus one is kinda cool though....
>>11878146It's a fine color scheme in a void but it's the lamest tribute to Kiryu Mechagodzilla they could have possibly done + has a Godzilla stamp on his chest.
I like the blue of the ko ss86 thundercracker more
>>11877772>But couldn't people wait for the listing on Hasbro pulse to be up before crying about the price. I doubt it would be the same as BTS.this didn't age well huh
>>11878151you know what would have been rad, if still just as much of a stretch? Dinobot recolor. His robot mode isn't too far off from this if you squint.
>>11878127well I know what that Asain guy was talking about when he mentioned TM1 Megs had a alt licensed beast head now.
>>11878132I'd be shocked if they managed to make something worse, but I could still see it happening. this is Hasbro we're talking about after all
How do you feel about interchangeable hands (and faces I guess)? On one hand they help make a figure so much more expressive, but I guess in the end they can become a hassle, they have to be removed for transformation, and you now have to keep a bag or box to store them. I know they're a common things for other poseable figures but for some reason they feel like they don't belong on Transformers.
>>11878171I'd rather the parts transform naturally, like the faceplate swings out, flips, then swings back in, that kinda thing. Hands should just open with hinges, but the problem with that is, nothing holds a weapon quite like a dedicated hole-hand
>>11878158... I mean actually, you're not totally wrong. I guess I could see it. They probably wanted him to scale equal to the Godzillatron one, though. At least that kit has an upgrade out there that makes it work damn near perfectly.
>>11878156Are 199.99/164.99 not cheaper than 209.99/174.99?>209.99/174.99 :^(>199.09/164.99 :^O
>>11878152I so want a seeker
>>11877674>>11878190You would think the animation one would be more expensive.
>>11878195Vac metal chrome, that’s why.
>>11878171Options are choices are good
>>11878201how have they still not invented a cheap scratchproof coating for that?
>>11877589>>11877644Can't you get it shipped to a neighboring country for cheap and then have it shipped from there to Venezuela?
>>11878213my friend from Argentina said that's how he had to have everything done. or more often, you pay someone foreign to smuggle it in past customs. Only way to get decent electronics in.
>>11878127Can't be worse than the last one....right?
>>11877589>>11878214Is this true?
I live in Chile and our customs has shit the bed of late. My last two deliveries were kept longer than 3 months for inspection and they weren't even large packages. I just wanna finish Bruticus...
This is a much bigger problem than people realize. Autists returning dozens of these figures due to imperceptibly small defects
Typical Starscream fan
Turns out Starscream has painted forearms that rub during transformation. Wow
>>11878261the white stripe looks fine to me, what's he talking about?>>11878261I mean QC is definitely fuckawful these days, but yeah I do not get a lot of these concerns>>11878266seriously.. clear coat spray. how fucking hard can it be to add?
>>11878267>the white stripe looks fine to me, what's he talking about?I could be wrong, but I *think* it's that the white stripe is supposed to go right up flush against the red stripe, but there's some unpainted gray in between the two stripes?
>>11878263I mean, they are called TRANSformers.
>>11878222HUH, never thought about this, thanks anon
>>11878301hmm maybe. i took that as the edge of the plastic, and/or missing RED paint
>>11877772>>11878156>>11878190This lines up with how they're already priced on Japanese sites too. The anime version is notably cheaper than the regular one.
>>11878266It was already brought up a while ago. For some reason, they didn't mold most of the arms using the same mold as the feet, they seem to have molded them to the head, with the under arm being molded to the feet (siege did the reverse with the arms, the top had the right color, bottom is grey).
I wish they would de-greeble this guy and release him in studio series.
>>11878375I think current Hasbro is stuck in this bizarre limbo where they are still relying on manual labor to make up whatever molding/casting shortfalls when labor costs are increasing faster than the general cost of living in most of Hasbro's markets. Yet, to avoid more labor costs, you need more investment in the design/engineering to have better or more dies-something they are unwilling to do because additional molding/casting is really expensive in the short run.Like Starscream's arms. Would it be that hard to have the color molded in the right color by having additional dies for them? No, but it will cost more for the qarter report- It would be cheaper to have workers paint the arms. But, then again, you are looking at running into QC issues which pissing off fans. But again, hasbro is not selling these toys like Bandai with their model kits (making the same thing for 20/30 years), once the season is over, a new version of the character will be out to replace the old one.And with SS being really close to screen accurate, short of MP, will people buy another new version of the same character, or will this design be it for the next decade? Will people be OK to see the same SS starscream in their local stores for the next 10 years?
>>11878171I think there are two schools of thought on this one. For display and dynamic posing, more options are better! You aren't storing blast effects on an alt mode, and you won't be storing extra hands/heads either. They can each go in their own dedicated little baggy when you actually want to handle the toy. It's nice to have expressive hands! Sometimes, the articulated ones are excessively fragile, or can't hold weapons very well.As far as practicality and playability goes, having a solid option is better. A 10-year old me couldn't care any less if the robot's fist is a cube with a hole drilled through it, so long as he can hold his CYBER SWORD. For a toy to be a toy, playability is key. Sometimes less parts to lose is better. The worst of both worlds is a toy with little display options that falls apart easily (looking at you Beastwars 2020's ReIssues). If the limbs just pop off and can't stay together in a backpack, or be solid enough to hold a pose, what you've got is a floppy piece of crap.
>>11878376why Studio Series? He had 5 minutes in the cartoon.
>>11878376Make him a haslab and unicron size.
>>11878376Should completely redo him. Being a retool of Metroplex hindered this guy.
>>11878449Speaking of, apparently Titan Class isn't enough for Metroplex so the next original G1 Metroplex we're getting is going to be Haslab most likely.
>>11878454>will be unicron sized>next unicron will be the size of a playhouse
>>11878454I read that blurb tooAnd to me it just sounded like they'll move him back to previous titan size, rather than this Star Convoy/Grimlock size we're at now
>>11878454It's going to be an indian kid in a costume so they don't get tariffed
When your Thundercracker harem sees you playing with the Slipstream transfer
>>11878376That mold is shit and should be forgotten. Fortress Maximus needs his own mold and Metroplex a way better one.
>>11878376I think Metroplex is fine honestly but this figure was never good.
>>11878547I want grandus goddamnit
>Runabout reissue sold out immediatelyNever should have bothered with the Runamuck reissue. Goddamn it.
>>11878614Wait, when did they even announce it?
>>11878614BBTS still has it
>>11877507My guess is Haslabs are on freeze until the tariff chaos is over (so 2029), they complete the move to Boston, and they're hoping the wars calm down by then too. Things are too hectic right now for them to plan how they should price things so far in the future.
Isn't BBTS putting their relationship with Hasbro in jeopardy by importing MTME Starscream from Asia and selling it in the US when that is supposed to be a Target exclusive?
I want them to reissue Earthrise Doubledealer now.
I'll grab Runabout if I see him on shelves, but I need TFCC Over-run to go with my TFCC Runamuck
>>11878657ER doubledealer is sold at ebay for roughly modern leader price, its one of those figures that are really good but nobody seems to care
>>11878656No, because Hasbro and BBTS usually don’t have any exclusivity deals for each other, it’s the same reason why BBTS can also sell direct Takara stock despite the usual case of Hasbro handling Transformers outside Japan
>>11878393>will people buy another new version of the same character, or will this design be it for the next decadeBoth. These people literally cannot help themselves and are never satisfied but at the same time, hastak will do the bare minimum and use the molds until they wear out like ER.
Finally got my Haslab Liokaiser, so here's my opinions on it:-Heads are too small for most members and there's really no excuse for it, having certain parts of the head fold away and using certain areas better, they absolutely could have made them look normal.-I already knew this going in, but zero connections for the spears to make the giant spear for the combiner, you can only make the nunchucks version. Even worse, they only included 6 full size staffs, but didn't include the shorter versions so the individual bots could wield them like nunchucks, meaning only the combiner can do this gimmick properly (and even then, it also used the shorter staffs as well). -Deathcobra feels compromised. I get ehat they were going for, but this design needed more work. Mine also came with a loose elbow, and it's pinned so it can hold fuck all.-Again, already knew about the breast animal issues, but the lack of filler for several members is frustrating. Only 4 look decent without them, with 3 having these gaping holes on their chests. It's even worse for Jaruga since his original toy had a spring loaded chest piece that worked after removing his animal.-The combined mode joints aren't as solid as I'd like. The vertical shoulder joints, knees, and thigh swivels can hold a pose, but just barely.-For theLiokaiser combination, there's a gap visible on the side of the torso, while Liozack does combine with Jaruga, it doesn't perfectly connect, not sure why they didn't do it, there's certainly enough of Jaruga left over to fill that.-The way they sculpted the index finger on Liokaiser is weird, it doesn't straighten out so pointing with it looks awkward, it's only usable as a trigger finger.-Most Breast animals struggle to fit anywhere thanks to the short pegs hasbro loves so much. All in all, I don't hate it, but I don't feel like I got my money's worth.
Bruticus bros...not like this...
>>11878657I have him with both his "power master" buddies I'm trying to get rid of.

i just want the chinks to wake the fuck up and start making KOs of molds from siege and onwards
>BW Galvatron's empty calves, and yes, they -could've- added a cover for themNo, they literally couldn't - not without compromising the tank mode. Do you even own the original toy?
>>11878870huh? owning toys?
>>11878836Vector Prime got a perfect toy 20 years ago. Jhiaxus never even got one that was even the right color up until now. If it's a toy from after 1996 you can't upgrade it, those toys are already modern.
>>11878836I agree with all these decisions. What's the problem?

Lol stop buying hasbros dogshit
>>11878923Megatron is butterfree?
>>11878836It's not really about priorities, it's just weird decisions in general:-Jhiaxus getting his own toy is fine, why the fuck did they retool need to be vector instead of another G2 character or trooper? Vector was a major character in Cybertron and had the easiest transformation in existence.-Nexus is Hasbro being retarded, nothing was stopping them from making him out of Bruticus.-Sideburn was also a victim of retardation. The priority was sideburns, but they didn't feel like going for vehicle likeness or shelling out for his licensed alt mode, so they went with generic car and decided to do Shadow Striker because the original shared a mold (it wouldn't surprise me if wires got crossed and they used the wrong Shadow Striker).
>>11878927>(it wouldn't surprise me if wires got crossed and they used the wrong Shadow Striker).Hasbro was in their "that's good enough everyone's the same" phase when they did that, same reason Prime Skyquake has so much G1 Skyquake DNA in him.

>>11879113Cyberworld?
>>11879002>because they couldn't be bothered to checkIf we're talking about Velocitron/Speedia Scourge, then it's worse than simply not bothering to check. The guy who designed his deco (Sam Smith, I think?) said that it was a conscious choice on his part to change the colors on his robot mode chest because he thought these colors ought to match the front of his truck mode cab. So it was more a case of a designer thinking he knew better than the source he was adapting, and trying to fix something that wasn't even broken, thus breaking it in the process. But not all the blame necessarily falls on him, because at the end of the day, the deco had to be approved by his boss (presumably Mark), who probably should have sent him back and had him redo it correctly.
>>11879129At the end of the day it doesnt matter as that deco is the one use of the mold that didnt went into clearance hell
>>11879042>this is so close to a cool dragon mode, could they not have had the treads kinda become big thighs or fold into the tummy area or something? Not just hanging off his calves...They're not supposed to hang off his calves; that anon mistransformed him. They're supposed to swing all the way up and merge with his robot thighs to thicken them out. It's not very elegant, but remember that he was a triple-changer that was made back in '98 - they didn't really have the engineering to make it look elegant and still be functional back then. Could it be handled better today? Probably, but the point of the new toy is to be a faithful recreation of the character as he was seen on the show, and having the treads become dummy thicc thunder thighs in robot mode is how it has to be.
>>11879130Depends where you live, I guess. The Walmart by my place flooded their shelves with 18 of 'em! Seriously, 18, at just one store, with most of them stacked up on the top shelf! And no matter how long they sat there, they would NOT move. The next time they did a reset, they must've unloaded them all onto Ross or something.
>>11879043why did they ban you?
Anyone know why Jarugar from the Haslab Liokaiser set has extra articulation for the front of the vehicle? It has an extra pivot downward that isn't used for anything.
>>11879013
>>11878881>If it's a toy from after 1996 you can't upgrade itLaser Optimus Prime is from 1995 and somehow they still can't make a version that's better than the original

>>11879263>Remember how the original G1 toy had a sliding chest mechanismAs a matter of fact, I don't Maybe I'm the weird one but I've never owned a G1 Liokaiser
>>11879307>Maybe I'm the weird one but I've never owned a G1 LiokaiserYou don't really need to own the toy to know these things, specially if you've been a Transformers fan for a long time. It's just a matter of curiosity.
>>11879316>honestly bubby, straight up, no funny business about it, but if you ain't a gosh dar rooting tootin sun of a gun that knows a chunky little thing or two about this brand you've obviously know this little known fact
My order for Cybertread is processing but Cybertronic is still at preorder.
>be me>be very interested in Overgear>watch the TSpark videos very closelyYeah I’m pretty sure those designs have been sitting on a shelf for 15 or so years. Their engineering reeks of RotF era. I guarantee Overgear was designed in 2009 and were supposed to cost $60. Fast forward to 2026, there is absolutely nothing groundbreaking about them except how overpriced they are.
>>11879051Mine turned out alright, he's worth it if you don't already have the Blitzwing mold though.
>>11879376>Their engineering reeks of the last time official Transformers were still worth buying.
>>11879376The designers explicitly said they're based on HFTD era figuresWhich is based because that's when the quality of these figures peaked
>>11879129>So it was more a case of a designer thinking he knew better than the source he was adapting, and trying to fix something that wasn't even broken, thus breaking it in the process.Scourge looked good though, so who cares? I'm more concerned if something looks cool than if it looks "accurate".Meanwhile, you know full well a lot of the people complaining about Velocitron Scourge are the same ones calling people "tooners" for wanting accurate colors for G1 guys. Certain series are ok to want the characters of to be accurate and some aren't, apparently.
>>11879376>old style at new prices BAD>new slop at new prices GOODok
>>11879403I think it would've been cool had Scourge been more accurate because it makes him more distinct from Nemesis Primes. But that's really difficult to accomplish within the constraints of the mold so it's whatever. But give me US toy colors for the Commandos.
Whenever I feel like it low-effort review.Today, I got a really big box with a much smaller box. I ordered three things from a different online retailer than usual, but only one was in-stock while the others arrive later this month (not TF related). Dunno why so huge for a small object. There was a lot of paper inserted.
>>11879451that's a nice box.
>>11879400wish I could've snagged the G.I. Joe repaint
>>11879451It's Airachnid! Her actual box was really dusty for some reason, but it was undamaged. Lots of interesting details to her, but her torso seems squished. Don't remember if that is accurate to the movie. About the level of mold flash and scrapes you'd expect from a TF. Her thighs having joints to increase range by removing a lot of them are a very particular to robots thing, so it feels good. She has a crapton of hinges in her ... other limbs(?) so I'm sure someone can do a cool pose with them, but her leg bits seem to pop out easily. On both of the thin ones, there seems to be a point where they seem to be too wide and seem like they are warped, and am I not sure if that is intentional.
>>11879458Trying to do the thing. Her head can't look up enough to be practical, but it balances her weight on the other legs.
>>11879231in fairness i don't think they could top laser prime like at all, one is a toy made out of desperation and ingenuity so they had to make it with a shitload of stuff to attract kids while the other is made out of corporate pandering, in a era where hasbro controls the toy market and can do the bare minimun and overcharge for these """"adults""""If g2 laser prime gets released nowadays it would be at best commander price, at worst titan price
>>11879460Vehicle mode. Her front has lots of interesting movements and all parts fit together securely. If that was all of her, I'd highly recommend it. The back though feels weird. Even after consulting the instructions, I'm not sure if it is correct since the propeller doesn't spin freely.Easy to understand as a helicopter despite being a Cybertronian altmode. Overall, I like her.
>>11879465>I'm not sure if it is correct since the propeller doesn't spin freely.I think you did something wrong cause mine spins so loosely it does like a full circle if I just tilt it to the side
>>11879198okay this is far more agreeable.
>>11879198>Could it be handled better today? Peerobably, but the point of the new toy is to be a faithful recreation of the character as he was seen on the show, and having the treads become dummy thicc thunder thighs in robot mode is how it has to be.How many times does this need to be said about this line
>>11879457In what way is this a GI Joe repaint? Granted, I'm a complete casual with GI Joe, but the only hovercraft I know of from that series was the Whale, but the colors on Deep Dive don't really match that.
>>11879400>The designers explicitly said they're based on HFTD era figuresWow, I was exactly right huh?
Here's your scramble city bro
>>11879457Is it gone forever?
>got my eye on the new Studio Series Cliffjumper>he’s got those gray bits sticking out of the car mode Disgusting >realize the headsculpt looks familiar >its literally the Earthrise head reused It’s a great face but damn
>>11878614He's still avilable on BBTS, I just pre-ordered him there. I went to see if I can also buy Runamuck, only to see him sold out on BBTS, Pulse, and Amazon. Only just a couple days ago I remember seeing him instock in all those places...
>>11879587>buy this figure you own as another character you already own >>11879589Decepticons cars outside of the Stunticons were a mistake
>>11879462What bugs me is how they even fuck it up in the first place. It's such a simple design too.The 2010 one I can understand, it's doing something entirely different and is built around posing with the sword. The 2017 one is supposed to be Octane so it doesn't really count. The Legacy leader on the other hand literally has no excuse. Everything about that figure is wrong for absolutely no reason other than they wanted to reinvent the wheel and reuse Earthrise prime's shitty legs and torso because they thought they knew better. Dr Wu literally made a miniature version that transforms the same as the original and it looks far better for it.
>>11879596Again, no matter what they do it WILL be worse than the og for the mere fact they will never use that much plastic due to greed
>>11879580We all knew this and you're acting like you made some groundbreaking discovery. Are you retarded?
>>11879376I always say as bad as hasbro prices are people always give Takara a pass for having even worse ones
>>11879642The Soundwave Missing Link is bullshit no matter how you cut it.It's like they knew people had micro cassettes they would use as filler so they jacked up Soundwave's price to compensate
>>11879596huge missed opportunity if they don't do a universe spychanger redeco of lil laser prime
>>11879636>we all knew this I didn’t read that anywhere and I noticed the striking amount of design similarities on my own. I’m very interested in the line. Could you possibly link me to the source of where the designer said they are HFTD designs?
>>11879411>old styleNo bro, I love the styling. I’m totally into what Overgear is going for. What I don’t like is paying 2026 prices for 2011 engineering. Ironhide looks fiddly, and Blackout looks to have potential to be even worse in that regard. Optimus’ articulation isn’t good enough. Theyre all going to “feel” exactly like HFTD figures for better and for worse, while they’re gonna “feel” like getting bent over a barrel paying for them.
>>11879514It's not officially a G.I. Joe repaint, but people said it was a loose homage to the Whale
>>11879582just expensive as all fuck on Ebay.I have the other two decos though so it's not horrible
>onslaught, a fucking commander doesnt come with his own gunWhat the fuck?
>>11879758Because Hasbro
>>11879758Technically Motormaster didn't either.
>>11879780He came with a sword
>>11879758It's weird, everyone else came with theirs, why was it so hard to add that?
>>11879758And that's a good thing!
>>11879758Uhmmm aktually he comes with a massive gun
>>11879758I made my own.
>>11878953How you wake up every morning and don't wanna paint the walls with your sludge brain is a mystery
>>11878917>>11878921Glad I saw your post. I've started seeing Him and Megatron pop up around town, and considered grabbing one. The weaponizers on the other hand I'll grab asap so I can do more silly little builds.
>>11879341Probably shipping in solid cases.
>>11879758Yeah it’s daft. I just bought a G1 rifle for a few quid off eBay.
>>11879758I've had mine for a month and that plus not being able to fully assemble Bruticus until Swindle is out has really hampered my motivation to unbox. Like, what am I supposed to do with him besides putting him in alt? Pose him flexing?
>>11879458Unfortunately Anon, I think the leg joints come out of the box warped. They did on my copy anyway. It's a shame because the design is so fresh, really all it needed was a few more metal pins to hold it together better. Maybe they wagered that it would be better for the toy to come apart than to shear off entirely? Regardless, it results in a faulty product. Still, I think it's cool that they found a way to release the figure at all. I just wish it was a little better.
>>11878376I think all figures should have greebling again
>>11879231Reveal the Shield Optimus is better
>>11880082based
Does anyone have Autobot Blanker yet? I heard the hips are loose on the new version.
>>11879846God I love blast effects so much. When are they gonna make some that don't explode your toys
>>11880179>When are they gonna make some that don't explode your toysThey're fine as long as you keep them away from paint.
>>11880082i like it but eeehh, small sword
Just picked up fugitive Wasp since I just started watching Animated for the first time and I like the little guy, I can see it joining devastation Sideswipe as a desk toy to transform now and again, and i really love how his colours look in person. I hope they keep doing more Animated stuff since I just got to the dinobots robot forms showing up and they look neat.
>buy a suspicious listing of the comic edition Grimlock, without the accesories for a very low price>It actually arrivedI can't believe this wasn't a scam. Paint is also flawless. Even the visor looks good.
>>11880190They also melt certain plastic if they're in contact long enough.
>>11880212do they melt each other if you keep them in separate baggie?
>>11880209It's easily the better use of the mold thanks to the sharper deco choices and opaque glass. Bee's clear plastic makes drags it down a few notches.
>>11880240Yeah when I was looking In to Wasp before buying it i found the Bee version and the window is one thing but all that fully clear plastic under his head looks terrible.
>>11880250I've got wasp and he looks good but I really wish he felt better to transform into his car mode. so many parts just barely don't line up right no matter how you fiddle with it
>>11880250I have Legacy Bee and Optimus, I like em. I might try getting the new Ratchet that recently released
So where did hundreds of thousands of Starscreams go? They're not on the secondary market. Is there a chance the ship carrying them was one of the ones that were sunk in the Strait of Hormuz?
>>11880255>new Ratchet that recently releasedI've noticed that is starting to drop in price over here in the UK so if he keeps sliding down I will probably grab one.
>>11880196Sword size is the same proportionally but I really do love the RTS version. Not as much as the original but it's good in it's own right
>>11880272it's actually a pretty dense toy for a modern deluxe and comes with a lot of stuff
>>11880271They are sitting in a warehouse and accruing value
>got that new megazarak in the mail today Cool, thought it wasnt out until next month. Shame gold Vector Prime didnt show up too.
>>11880271>So where did hundreds of thousands of Starscreams go?Asia, apparently. Which is why there are so many on aliexpress.
>>11880271they're all at Sipher's house
Since SS86 has a notable paint chipping issue (really Hasbro, you couldn’t mold the hips and purple?) and the legacy version long gone., is Overcharge a good substitute? Any QC issues, looseness?
Damn, when did it become mandatory to purchase upgrade kits for the full experience?
>>11880347when did Kingdom come out?
>>11880347Uhhh...Nova Prime is the first that comes to mind I guess? If we want to get really picky then even as far back as Classics Ultra Magnus and the City Commander armor.
>>11880250>all this clear plastic instead of just painting the window blue
>>11880342rent free
>>11880346you can still get the legacy one for a decent price, they reiussed that thing like 3 timesovercharge is a good deco but be reminded hes an army builder
Got some Action Masters as an early birthday present to myself. I'll build Soundwave later.
>>11880371Chopperface you just put pre-assembled parts together. I think he looks great. Very shiny boy.
>>11880372Why is his butt on the front?
>>11880372Very cool
>>11880373Because I'm stupid and thought the spine parts all connected in the back. Now the rest of my photo shoot is ruined...
>Dinobot, put me down right now or I'll-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
In conclusion, dinosaurs are cool.
>>11880377I guarantee it was, at one point, til a modeler switched the pelvis around to make dick jokes
>>11880388A fascinating theory...Oh, another thing to mention with this guy, his paint scratches extremely easily. Just posing him normally and I can see little bits of paint chipped off his thighs and helmet. MP quality he ain't, but for 30-ish bucks he's great for what he is.
>>11880377>>11880379>>11880396He looks really expressive
>>11880404His faces are great but sadly not as customizable as I'd like, the laser eyes only work with the open snarling face for example. Also his standard closed mouth has an articulated hinge but it's not great because there's a blue tab when you open it and it looks off.My gripes aside I still really like him and I hope Yolopark continues the BW line because I really want a Rattrap to fuck around with Dinobot and having Megatron would be cool too and would make me get the Primal to go with him.
>bent the knee to Studio Series >see this on the box Oui! Oui!
>>11880423Le Film? What the hell is that?
>>11880347>he dosent have an iGear head on his Generations Kup
First impression of opening my first SS86 Seeker>I think it’s a bit shocking how light it is when you open the box, strictly for the fact that he looks so nice you *almost* think you’re opening a Masterpiece figureAlmost >his fuselage chest won’t stay tabbed in Instant ptsd from the old MP Starscream. I can fix this issue but it dosent make it any less of a seeker curse. >no wing hinge Instantly missing Earthrise’s wing hinges, badly. I always have their wings angled back. While untabbing the wings is possible, and at least they can put their arms back a little bit this way, it’s not a substitute for the hinge at all >shoulders are too far back, the head is too far forward 40 years to get this right and we still goof up stupid shit like this and >can’t point his toes Ugh I’m not feeling totally negative though. He looks awesome. I will be happier once I get his torso lock more solid
>>11880363can't take a joke, Sipher?
>>11880427bless you, Anon. I almost said that myself.
People actually use toe point?
>>11880457Foot articulation I find to be some of the most important articulation you can put into a robot, so yes.
>>11880457If the option is there, why not?
>>11880383>>11880372BEAST WARS!!!!I like him, anon! I'm glad that the hand articulation is as good as it is on the model kit. You've got some pretty good posing there.
>>11880500nice broken pic porko
>just learned that here in Asia we stole all the runabout Hilarious
>>11880434Remember that for both tabbing and untabbing his torso, NEVER pull on it upwards or push it down, as you'll slowly damage the T- shaped piece, just slide the cockpit forward to unlock and back to lock in securely. Also have care with the front of his arms when transforming it to alt mode (they face inwards and shouldn't scrape against anything) and you'll get no paint chipping issues.
What do you guys want to seeThey have a exhibition at "local" shopping mall this weekA lot of early release like amrada Jetfire and swindleThey also got display of the coming MP and special takara release
For people who ordered anime ML grimlockHe is better looking in personAll the chrome is now yellew plastic.
>>11880524As a holder of one, they are prone to cracking and exposed gaps when transformed.
What Else They also have them hereThe new hot rod looks just like the SS versionBlack Star Optimus looks great but the price.. Not to mention having the regular one on the desk right now is already take out a huge spot
Close up...Some complaints So I got swindle, cyclonous and roundabout The new cycl is generally fine. They barely have any paint so most of the figures I saw are good Oh but with swindle Damn the shelf have 20 of them but it's like only two of them are ok with the paint job. For some reasons most of them have issues with the eyes or the chest silver parts are either scratched badly or have bunch of "pubs" on themIn comparison nearly all the old siege runabout got perfectly painted chest. Does 6 years in term of production differences made that much difference?
>>11880524No wonder i see them on aliexpress
>>11880500if you showed this to me as a kid, I'd lose my absolute mind
>>11880388as funny as that would be, the front faceing spine part down the pelvis is actually present on the toy. It's normally obscured by the raptor head.
No ever posted about it, but Breakaway has some kinda crazy torso articulation
>>11880547Hot Rod looks good but if I already have both studio series what's the point of getting this one?
they made every single character imaginable except the fucking laser rods
>>11880211eBay or Marketplace?
>>11880578I actually did a review of him here when he first came out. He's a surprisingly good toy, and (as I said back then) it would be cool to get a modern Krok out of this mold to be his rival (maybe packed in with a repainted ROTB Skullcruncher to be his buddy Gatoraider).
>>11880590They haven't even remade all the G1 guys, so that is a while away.
>>11880590They did Road Pig and Road Rocket already. That being said, they haven't touched the Axelerators/Skyscorchers at all.
>>11880597>They did Road Pig and Road Rocket already. Those are not laser rods
>>11880598I'll show you a laser rod.
>>11880593Ebay.
>>11880590I'm still waiting for G2 Smokescreen and Dreadwing. I'll be pissed if they half ass them.
>>11880590I'm still waiting for a new Grand Convoy. It's insane that an Optimus combiner in the style of G1 gestalts have never crossed their minds somehow.
>>11880614
>>11880576oh okay. even weirder then that that means they extrapolated that detail to his backI do like how the old beastformers had kinda body horror shaped internals
>>11880615It's not the same even though he has the details. I just want my Optimus to do a drill kick and drill punch. I have the original but it has shown its age so it would be great to get a new one with all the modern articulation one can get as a Combiner. Bonus if they somehow make a new Grand Convoy as tall as a G1 Combiner but that might border on Titan class.
>>11880615To be fair, they're redoing the G1 Combiners and out of all characters in Energon/Superink, Optimus is the one most look forward to. So it is a surprise that they never tried to kill two birds with one stone by updating E/SL Optimus as the 'first' proper Energon update as well as cash in the fact it can be retooled to be CW Optimus Maximus later as they're still in the Combiner-heat phase right now.
>>11880582For the size?It is significantly larger than the SS version which should go well with the MP10/44 or even the new one. To be fair the new leader class are much smaller than before. the old leader primes usually able match the height of the MP prime even give the engineering was way less complicated
>>11880590There are a bunch of late G1 guys (like the more obscure Pretenders), late Euro G1, G2 (Cyberjets, Laser Rods, Rotor Force) that they haven't touched yet. Also we still don't have complete set of Autobot Targetmasters and Triggerbots. And the Omnibots. Probably the most forgotten corner of G1.
>>11880617>even weirder then that that means they extrapolated that detail to his backWell, his toy has his back completely covered in raptor flesh, so there was no spine visible at all. They pretty much skinned his back for the cartoon, and had to put something there so that it wouldn't look bare.
>>11880590I want my Firecons first
>americans couldn't afford this
>>11880611My hope is for Takara to do accurate BWII Starscream and BB for New Legends then Hasbro can do the G2 versions.>>11880614I expect it’s been brought up a bunch of times but always knocked back because of the negative stigma surrounding Energon. Hopefully that’s changing since we’re supposed to be getting Energon Scorponok and Tidal Wave in the near future.
>>11880679Looks fantastic. Genuinely don’t see the point in the headphones though if he doesn’t function as a cassette recorder… well, aside from as something to bump up the price.
>>11880679This raises the question of how did they screw up SS86 Soundwave in the ways they did. There’s no excuse for gaps and fake parts when this is possible.
>>11880650I'm satisfied with mine
>>11880500>I'm glad that the hand articulation is as good as it is on the model kit.I wish the fingers were a bit more articulated, and I wish the wrists were the kind of joint that has a peg for both the arm and hand connection. Thank you regardless. You won't be getting any insane Revoltech tier poses out of him but he is fun to mess around with. I wish I could collect all those really cool BW MPs and 3rd Party MPs but I ain't got the budget for it.
>>11880718Missing Link has been a constant "What if the toys weren't Hasbro cheaping out" with all the releases. Which is why you get things like Ultra Magnus restoring all his Diaclone functionality and coming with his minicar, Grimlock's sword getting its chrome back, and now Soundwave keeping his Microchange headphones.
finally started building Bruticus. he's so big and cool.I don't have legs for him yet but he already looks dangerous even like that.I can see him like one of those bosses from old school 2D sidescroller games.A lot of them had a boss that chasing you. And sometimes it was a legless boss like that giant minotaur from Castlevania that was crawling towards you.I can see bruticus being like that. A giant monstrous transformer chasing that Jazz. Also i dont think that Bruticus needs a gun (neither Devastator). Both of them are super GIANT and powerful. Guns is too OP for them. I kind of like them like in early Skybound issues - two giant monsters using their strength and hands. If it catches you - you are pretty much dead. You will be squished and crished. Why would they need a gun...they are already demigod-like beings
>>11880775too much broken enRish. But this is the boss i was talking about
>>11880630most of the Pretenders have been ignored.and where's the Throttlebots damnit?
>>11879691Anon it's been almost 20 years later and the Overgear stuff has slightly more consistent paint apps, more articulation, and is a smaller run aimed at a single small island than a global release tied into a blockbuster sequel to a proven success. Budget cuts have been a thing but 2008-2010 was an unprecedented budget boost that we already saw it scaled back by DOTM in 2011.
>>11880725SS86 Soundwave’s release is exactly when ai stepped away for a bit. I didn’t see anything about him? What can I expect from him?
>>11877507Next haslab is a mark project and mark only just got back from paternity leave, theyve had Eric Siebenaler covering for him on the latest aotp waves
I almost FOMO-bought a $20 Runamuck at Wal-mart but I don't need it (looks kinda shit tbqhwy)
>>11880858Same but with AOTP Breaker. I’ll wait for it to go on sale if anything because I doubt that it’ll be something that will sell out immediately.
>>11880853Given development timelines wouldn't that actually be Age of Evolution waves?
>>11880849He's good, about the best you can expect for a non-MP Soundwave figure.
>>11880679I’m getting the toon one for sure
Think we'll ever get "Retro" Decepticons? I want some toy color seekers
>>11880899Seems possible, but they have a jillion seekers already.
>they fucking painted Blitzwing’s crotch for some reasonThis went from “maybe I’ll buy if it gets heavily discounted” to “total skip”
>>11880881I assume well see a lot more of the results of his work on later stuff because they often talk about things about 1.5 years ahead but they specifically credited Eric on the deco for Joyride, but only the deco as the molding was decided during that figures development, so I'm guessing specific paint choices is decided very late in dev which he oversaw
>>11880914Why does Hasbro insist on painting friction areas?
>>11880970>I couldn’t resist, I pre-ordered Breaker, but if I hear, bad reviews, I’ll take off the pre-order. The new head and sold color chest definitely looks much better than the previous one. Does anyone have? Cybertread and or Cybertronic yet?
>>11881575It doesn't even matter unless you're severely autistic too. Like I have the SS86 seekers and Legacy Blitzwing next to 86 Megatron, Soundwave, and Siege Shockwave, they all look fine.
>>11881247A huge chunk of the truck is his backpack, what do you think?
Teams almost complete!Found Brawl at a secondhand toy store today for a reasonable price, just gotta get Swindle now.
I guess I post my haul>cyclonusHe is OKI wish I could say great, but his joints are rather loose all around. They don't flap around, but they feel a lot weaker than the old mold. The knees can't hold the body's weight. The paint on the bot mode is decent, but there are a bunch of dents and chips here and there in the jet mode and a long scratch on the forehead- I am pretending it's battle damage from the movie. And yes, jet mode has no nozzle.Overall, it is a good cartoon cyclonus (could have better QC), and I doubt they can do better. Even if they do make a MP I don't see the point of getting it.>SwindleNot much to complain about. The chest windshield/hood is not "locked," so it does move around when you touch it, but it is a hard friction turn, so it is not that big of a deal. I took the best looking one from the shelf, unfortunately when flipping the windshield up, the purple on the hood missed a large spot. Another slightly annoying thing, like Brawl, because of his sideway waist joint for the combined mode, the right side of him doesn't really click in place so he leans a bit left when standing. Not noticeable in bot mode, but you can see the car is not straight in Jeep. >RunaboutNice little car. Though, I don't like how half of the figure is made of clear plastic. I really missed the Bay 1/2 era, where they separated the door and the window with clear plastic and normal plastic. If they did that here, there won't be any mismatching color, and there won't be any red that got on the black (which I got). But even with the minor paint smears, the overall paint is a lot better than the previous 2 figures, with almost no dents or chips. Is runamuck a good companion to this? All the images I see all got really bad white color matching. >PaintjobIs it just me, or is the paint application in general getting worst than ever?
>>11881723>I wish I could say great, but his joints are rather loose all aroundget the kingdom one
>>11881723>Is runamuck a good companion to this? All the images I see all got really bad white color matching.Runamuck color matches fine, at least in real life. He has notoriously worse QC though
>>11881723>Is it just me, or is the paint application in general getting worst than ever?its not just you, there is a ton of figures where the paint is noticeably worse
>>11881723>Finally release another Cyclonus>Ruin it entirely So skip it and wait for a Dramatic Capture set from Takara to do it right?>SwindleHe truly just does not look good to me but I just wanna find him asap so he goes perma leg mode basically and I have a complete Bruticus to mess with and get 3P touch ups to later go "wow it didn't improve at all" and keep my UW>>11881728Kingdom yellows horrendously and it's an issue with %100 of them
I just started collecting, I've got ss 86 soundwave, and aotp blast off and vortex on the way this week. Not sure what I'll go for once I finish Bruticus.
>>11881723>>11881723>Is runamuck a good companion to this? All the images I see all got really bad white color matching.Definitely worth getting. The two complement each other very well. I just wish the car parts got some retooling.Any paint matching issue you're seeing is because all the car parts are painted white, even the white plastic, which means the car is a uniform shade but it causes a bit of a discrepancy in bot mode against the unpainted head, collar, arms, hips and thighs. It’s not nearly as noticeable in hand as it is in pictures (it looks particularly bad in my pic for some reason) but honestly, I think it adds a necessary bit of variety to his otherwise bland colour scheme. And just a quick PSA: turn the head 180° and tilt it back when transforming to car mode so it doesn't get caught during transformation back to bot mode.
>>11881756>>Swindle>He truly just does not look good to meIt's unfortunate that the team has to end on a bit of a downer toy.
>>11881773>on a bit of a downer toy.thats onslaught to me, the alt mode is dogshit and he lacks accessories for a fucking commander
>>11881800Both are applicable. The Combaticons peaked with Brawl.
>>11881771>And just a quick PSA: turn the head 180° and tilt it back when transforming to car mode so it doesn't get caught during transformation back to bot mode.NTA but thank you, life saverI still need to sand down my Runamuck's door pegs because they don't fully connectAny tips for shifting the roof section up and down, especially when getting them out of car mode? The pressure you have to apply to a part that's half-clear plastic scares me.
>>11881800Onslaught is prob my second fav of the group honestly. Yea he needs a gun but Alt Mode isn't that bad, just looks a bit off without the trailer
>>11881806>Any tips for shifting the roof section up and down, especially when getting them out of car mode? The only thing I can suggest is to place your finger under the roof and push directly on the black part of the hinge. Won't put any pressure on the clear plastic that way.
>>11881817For me the best is Blast Off easily. Really good in both modes, a good toy on his own. The Combaticons as a whole ended up being the best team all in all, probably. Vortex's a little weak but because of build quality, he still looks awesome.
I'm having an evil thought. I can get a sealed Universe figure from a guy locally for really cheap, it's one that I've wanted for a while.Should I just open it? How many of these are left in the world? People don't really care to preserve these, there's no PSA for Transformers because no one gives a shit. Maybe a hundred, in the world? I... think I'm gonna do it
How is Swerve? He has a frequently returned notice on Amazon.
>>11881853Yes, you should open toys you want?
>>11881853I think you should keep it sealed in a cool and dark environment. Every so often you can check up on it and consider selling. But don’t! Diamond hands. You can always have a dream that one day you will be the last man on earth with a sealed copy of this mysterious figure. Then surely at that point you will be rich. Hold fast, ponder what a wonderful heirloom it will be to pass down to your son on your deathbed. It could bring generational wealth to your entire bloodline if they have the same steadfast willpower as you. >>11881876Whatever you do, don’t listen to this anon
>>11881853I opened a MISB Beast Wars II Hellscream this year. You'll be fine anon.
>>11881850I grew to like him a lot more than I thought. I'm eyeing the 3P hands for him tho
>>11881892You planing on keeping him on bot mode?
>>11881884Looks sick
>>11881892>I'm eyeing the 3P hands for him thoI'm waiting to see if DNA does anything on that front but yeah, Blast Off turned out better than expected. Just a solid, chunky deluxe with simple but fun transformation and one of the better alt modes in recent times.
>>11881853I can't think of any Universe figure that'd be crazy high sealed except the Ultra Magnus? That's a 2 pack maybe???
>>11881876>>11881884NTA but I can't be the only one who doesn't like opening vintage stuff. I get absolutely nothing out of the packaging given that I want to actually play with my toys, but it costs more money sealed and if I ever end up selling it I'm potentially losing a ton of money. I never buy sealed stuff for this reason. Maybe I'm just retarded
>>11881853I know the feeling but unless it's a rare figure there's no reason to be precious about it
>>11882004I do think if you have the option of packaged or unpackaged but in good condition, and you plan to actually play with it, you'd be an idiot not to save money by buying it unpackaged, and leaving the MiB one for the MiB collectors. after all, when they die, we get pristine toyshowever, I have occasionally felt guilty about opening extremely vintage zoids, since for model kits, you are genuinely altering them.. plus there's always a chance of motors or lights no longer working. sometimes they're stupidly rare, and once you've built it, it's a lot harder to let someone clone it someday by bootlegging the molds or whatever.
>>11882063>and you plan to actually play with it, you'd be an idiot not to save money by buying it unpackaged, and leaving the MiB one for the MiB collectors. after all, when they die, we get pristine toysI have been considering this. There are no cons even remotely close to me but if I ever went to one I'd try to trade it for an unboxed one and 20 bucks. I don't WANT to make money on it, but I also don't want to sit on something MISB that I don't get anything out of and if I can get two figures for my one then why wouldn't I take that
>>11882077trading is always a valid idea. Dangle it out there, never know what you might find.Sometimes you might have the inferior american version of something, to you, but it turns out that version is a novelty to someone else who only has the japanese version, and you can trade and both be happy. That's the great river of wealth.
>>11882097It's a sealed Animated Oil Slick. I bought it because as someone who has no real toy stores around him it felt crazy to find something I actually wanted in a physical store. I eventually want to make an animated villain displays with him, Lockdown and Lugnut, but... That's not gonna happen with him sealed. Got it for cheaper than a complete one out of box seems to go for on Ebay so I don't feel too bad.
>>11882118I don't think you should worry that hard about a massmarket figure from like 20 years ago. it's not like you have a pristine comic book from the 60s, it's more like you have a pristine comic book from the 2000s. read it, enjoy it.
>>11882128No, yeah, you're probably right. I talked about this before in /tfg/ but I have this irrational fear of getting rid of any collectible that might accrue value on the off-chance that in 20 years I'll need emergency money for medical bills or something and realize that damn, if I hadn't unboxed or sold my old figured that all turned out to be Black Lotuses I could've paid for my chemo or whatever. I know itr's absurd but it's anxiety and fundamentally retarded
Is Bruticus's gun supposed to be two of Swindle's combined? Because it's not in the instruction manual and doing it feels too tight like it's not intended.
>>11882131I sometimes ask myself if I should have just never bought anything for myself, since I've spent 66-75% of my life with it in boxes due to not having space, and having life setbacksbut when I think about quitting, all I can think is what an idiot I'll feel like someday when I'm rich but don't have all that stuff from all these years. so... it's okay. I'm just gonna be patient. and, in all likelihood, end up an elderly homeless person and die quietly.
>>11881853This post is making me want to open up something sealed. Let's have anon help me pick;>Energon Arcee>Energon Snowcat>Beast Machine Tankor

>>11881853I had old toybiz video game toys I wanted to keep in the packaging but once I saw they were leaking plasticizer I opened them and wiped them down. I actually enjoy them much more as you know, toys.
>>11882137toys are like vegetables.. sometimes keeping them wrapped helps, sometimes it hurts.
i WILL release my toys from their cardboard prision, no matter how rareIf you dont play with them you dont deserve them, simple as
>>11882143Holy based
>>11882143Yeah, they're action figures. You'd figure they'd want some action.
>>11882132This is aesthetically awful and the proportions are wonky.Glad I stopped at Vortex.
>>11882174His proportions are fine in all the in-hand pics I've seen. I swear that render is ever so slightly stretched horizontally.
>>11882172Back in my days those were called dolls
>>11882193Doll's ability to function as a doll is unrelated to articulation. For example, dolls made of paper are not designed to move or be viewed from other sides.
>>11882198I would say the definition of a doll is a toy that is meant to let you emulate a normal life functiona baby doll is for practicing parenthood, a Barbie is for dressing up, a 60s GI Joe is for playing soldier, a My Buddy is for pretending you have friends, etc.when it becomes an action figure is when the scenarios you're playing out have no bearing on real life, like 80s GI Joes and their crazy laser fights with metalfaced guys, robots, mutants, superheroes, whatever.WWF Wrestling Buddies straddle the line, as you are practicing fighting, which is a real skill, but you're patterning it after the extremely fictional and choreographed pro wrestling.
>>11882211So if I reenact A Nightmare on Elm Street with Barbies, they stop being dolls?
>>11882174>stopped at Vortex I did too but I’m not glad about it
>>11882143I tend to agree, but there's a few figures I've kept packaged up just cuz I like the look of it, and I get nostalgic for things I saw in the toy aisle as a kid. The packaging is a huge part of that. The reptilian eye on the Beast Wars packaging, shouting Cheetor on Beast Machines stuff, that dark red to white hot orange gradient on RiD2001, the contrasting red and blue from Armada that's accented by a character card, the velcro panel on classics 2006...all that stuff made such an impression on me. Is it as important to the experience as the toys themselves? Definitely not. But I don't believe it's worthy of being discounted all together.
>>11882229> packaged up just cuz I like the look of it, and I get nostalgic for things I saw in the toy aisle as a kid. The packaging is a huge part of that. The reptilian eye on the Beast Wars packaging, shouting Cheetor on Beast Machines stuff, that dark red to white hot orange gradient on RiD2001Going from the beautiful, soulful painted Beast wars art to screaming CGI Cheetor on every package was such a disappointment as a kid, same with the over photoshopped RID pics. It was one of the first times I felt disappointed in change, especially since I used to clip out the old painted art from boxes.I was happy to see the original art per character return for Armada even if the Dreamwave style art wasn’t as cool.

Thoughts on AotP G2 Snarl and Slag? In the pictures the colours don't look as eye cancer inducing as my poor boy Swoop's so while they would stand out from the rest being g1 if I complete the set I'm tempted since I can get that duo at a decent price.
>>11882765They are showing up at Ross and getting snapped up with a quickness. Is your decent price from Ross? Does it beat Ross’ price? Did you see them there and assume they’ll still be there when you go back?
>>11882765Hi, I have that set and they’re very good. The only thing I would say that had QC issues is one of. Slug’s elbow joints was loose, but since it’s double jointed, it holds up with the other part of the elbow.. and also it’s hard to get the 2/2 of Snarl together in Stegosaurus mode, but it holds together if you put the sword underneath. If they have it on sale then yes I definitely recommend it
>>11882774I have no idea what Ross is since i am a bong, G1 Snarl is currently at best £50 from what i have seen while that G2 set works out at £37 each.

It takes a little bit of doing to find what her lega consider straight. The built in heels and odd shapes of her thighs and calves, doing what instinctively felt natural had her leaning forward a lot
That BigFig Optimus does NOT look worth 30 bucks.
I was going through my parts box looking for a weapon for Bruticus and found some extra Perfect Effect hands that I completely forgot I had. They're blue ones, but they work pretty good for Devastator.Found a grey pair, too, and might see if I can find a way to put them on Bruticus

>>11883565The shape of the chevrons are different, and the front of the helmet has a different pattern, and he doesn't have the side bumps. It is one of those things where despite the toys being identical, the models were different. Sideswipe/Red Alert is the weirdest case of this since they straight up follow different design logic like Red Alert having visible wheels despite that they should be the same or their heads being very different even outside of Red's being turned red.

>>11883631if they insist on sky blue windows they should at least give them a deco like the devastation line has
>>11883661I totally disagree. Thats just making it even worse. If they insist on painting them they should be black and nothing else. But here we are with blue painted with white highlights, flat blue, black, also clear windows in blue, clear, tinted..so there’s like 10 different styles of windows floating around aimlessly in the mainline while the team also can’t decide on greebling amounts. The whole mainline looks actually like a mishmash of different aesthetics that are not cohesive at all when you really examine them
>>11883661I honestly like that on my Sideswipe, I just wish they did that effect on all the windows like in the game.
>>11883306It's so she can pose with her bow weapon.Side note: I do like how the 2007 movie deluxe Arcee is just a more refined version of the old energon mold. Even including a similar bow weapon except the 2007 is more of a crossbow rather than a traditional bow and arrow
>>11883631It is strange how inconsistent they are with that. Like clearly they are trending towards opaque windows for the G1 cartoon stuff but then you get things like Windcharger and the Seekers. Perhaps it's just left to the designers discretion?

>>11884463titan class high tide...gotta believe...2059...
what are the opinions on these two and which is better?
>>11884501Legacy Antagony/Inferno is such a fun figure, it even comes with a whole different head to use
>>11884501buzzsaw is a disappointing version of a flawed mold. the green eyes are cool but the clear black wings are odd. and anyway he always felt kinda.. same-colors-as-waspinatorAntagony is an excellent paint job of a terrible mold, with a head that at least lets you reuse your Inferno if you had to get him as part of the Takara 2-pack, and turn him into a different guyI spent ages cutting and drilling and jointing the crooked and weird ant legs
>>11883948Today
>>11884517I've kept my Antagony stock, so what do the new legs look like?
>Newest LG comic ends with Superlink Elita in one her forms from her Alternity days, a Headmaster.Man, they're just picking from everything.
>>11884577Also, they brought up that the last reveal for the Unicron storyline would be huge, and this comic showed they're going to continue the unresolved Earthspark cliffhanger with Megatron. This might be nothing, but they did have ES Optimus become Star Optimus, so will they release a Super Megatron to go with it?
>>11884417Zero, sadly. What's more disappointing is that they're reissuing this instead of using the opportunity to slap those colors on his Legacy toy so we can finally have him in his proper body.
>>11884542not perfect, but I used her as a practice for Inferno which came out a bit better.
>>11884577>>11884584And the par I completely forgot and most people will care about, next release is apparently Delta Magnus using the 86 mold. Takara mentioned wanting to retool the mold to have an inner robot, no idea if they'll actually do it.
>>11884417That's why they're reissuing it. There have been no figures yellowing in years.
>>11884463Chase spoiled us, Heatwave was such a downer
>>11884611if they manage to make this rerelease yellow too I'm gonna laugh my ass off
>>11884490I love this photo
>>11884627Agreed. And yet he somehow managed to sell out everywhere without ever hitting clearance
>>11884711That IS surprising
New Wild King toys.
>>11884759
This red guy is awesome
>>11884759>>11884760>>11884768No pictures of Spinoescudo and Rexblade in full until tomorrow, when pre-orders open... Ugh, more work.
>>11884759I wish the aesthetics of toys like this could be used on ... other toys, that actually have decent proportions.
>>11884759Dragnus has died fighting the Balrog. Dragnus the White has returned!
>>11884808The white one is kinda like TMII Megs
>>11884592Imagine
>>11884768>>11884759That white dragon dude looks like ass. ASS. He doesnt even transform. You just flip his dragon head backwards and thats it.
>>11884759>>11884760>>11884768Genuinely can't stand this stylization China slopThey wanna be Metal Cardbot and Mugenbine so bad
>>11884916I never liked Chinese designs on any toy or game.
>>11884916Aren't those Korean and Japanese respectively? Chinamen like spiky robots.
>>11884768rare to see a TF get WHITED
>>11884916>Genuinely can't stand this stylization China slopYou mean korea slop. Anyway, the future is now, old man.
Behold, the objectively superior Onslaught base mode!(I can't be the first person to do this right?)
I can't believe I actually went and got the AM PredakingLast time I got something this expensive was with daiclones Big powered. Have not get into the combined mode yet, still trying things around with individual figures. ObservationsThe paint job is really good. Not perfect but really good. You still can see some splashes of paint, dust that got caught during painting and paint went over the line here and there but it still good. Though, it is still pale to big powered which I find it literally free of visible paint defects. I guess we not going back with them quality controlThe strength of the joints are a bit all over the place. Nothing flops but pinned crotch joints are definitely the weaker ones. A lot of exposed area and large chunks of things just hanging around here and there for the bot mode. Which is understandable being need to combine. last thing, I wouldn't be surprised if future mainline Predaking follows this design. There is nothing really too complicated about the general design. If they simplify things I don't see how a mainline Predaking wouldn't work based on this. I am going to put Predaking next to the devastator and bruticus. >NO IT'S TOO SMALLI think of the Predacons as precursor to the later beast former so they are smaller than cars and vehicles.
>>11885291Seems like a waste of 400 bucks
>>11884800
>>11885291You gonna post more pics or what
>>11885205>>11885329>>11885331>>11885335These are so fucking uglyThat's not TF
>>11885331This thing fucks severely
>>11885428U r like little baby, watch this
>>11885348Robots that turn into animals and combine? That's not TF!!!Out of images but imagine I posted a pic of G1 predaking.
>>11884417Mine's been in the box 90% of the time I've owned it. It's yellowed already.
>>11885448we have >>11882784 this one even though OP didn't do it right
>>11885291To be honest, I prefer they scale well as Predaking to match the other combiners. Wake me up when T-SPARK eventually reveals MPG Overlord, then we'll talk.
Cullen fucking died
>>11886028Anyone got the gif of Optimus being dead?
Cullen just passed away..
F.....
welp the franchise is over, pack it up

Peter Cullen has died. Tim, Peter... I swear I'll hang myself if Frank dies next.
>>11886028F
ITS OVER
>>11886160bro, he's 85 and fought cancer twice and was in the hospital last monthpeople die
>>11886160It's an inevitability, bro. No one lives forever. He WILL die within your lifetime, and given his age and the fact that he has a history of cancer, the odds are good it'll be sooner than you think.
that apology tour shit looks even more retarded now lolfuck hasbro
New thread that isn't a shitshow?
If we still had Botcons they'd probably redeco Rex Blade and five others into a six member Volcanicus, you just know.
>>11886266I think you confused Peter with Garry Chalk, the second voice of Optimus who beat cancer twice and is currently 74.He voiced Optimus in all the anime dubs
>>11887271I think you confused who was being talked about read >>11886160
>>11886430bro, people can't even take the energy to comprehended reply chains, and you really think you are going to get a good thread out of this place? ever?
>>11887324It's clearly a redeco anon
>>11887271How did you get Garry Chalk out of 84 and cancer twice? Did you even see who anon was replying too?
>>11887322>>11887328>>11886339Because articles were popping up months ago saying "Voice of Optimus Prime has cancer" with bayformers and G1 thumbnails to trick tourists and normies into thinking Garry Chalk was Peter CullenFuck the image limit. Google "Garry Chalk cancer"
>>11887338They were talking about Frank Welker see >>11886160 most are going to think you are ESL, a bot, or just retarded for missing that
