I was actually considering what it would take to make a Jan Ors custom recently, so I’ll mention some things I found. First of all, the Endor Leia with her poncho removed is probably the closest to Jan Ors’ torso, it’s got one of those shirts with the same type of sleeves as Jan Ors. Although Jan has a popped collar and some extra details like a walkie-talkie. Also, Jan has long sleeves while Leia’s are rolled up. But long sleeved forearms could likely be swapped into the Endor Leia biceps. Also, Chewbacca from Solo comes with the best goggles for a Jan Ors figure since Tech’s from Bad Batch’s is too big and specific. I feel like there must be a good, simple realistic brunette headsculpt with a ponytail from one of Hasbro’s photoreal lines between the MCU, Star Wars and Power Rangers. But I haven’t found the perfect Jan Ors head substitute yet.

It feels like the people in charge are like pic related. It really shouldn't be that hard to make Star Wars appealing again. Make a new movie like Rogue One and have it be REALLY GOOD with both a hero and heroine people like with actors and actresses people like, and leave the politics at the door. Have any of you tried putting the tvc forge helmets on shriekhawks? Was wondering if there was any solution to the balls being loose in the necks as they're a bit smaller than the default ones. Swapping the original balls in was a thought but I think they might be too big for the helmets, perhaps I need to reheat and clamp the neck a bit to tighten it? I've heard wood varnish/polish is good for loose joints so maybe might give a bit of stability here.

If you were willing to spend a lot of money then don't bother with the random shit and make your room themed to a specific location/vibe, like the cantina or a Star destroyer or whatever. But you don't want to spend a money yet already spent a bunch of money on random shit, so you'll inevitably just leave it on the table and on a counter and on a shelf and think that you did a great job.

The problem with turning a room into a Star wars themed room is that you really need to cover at least some of the walls and some specific styled furniture to get anything close to the proper vibe. You could do this for relatively cheap but you'd need a good amount of time and craft a lot of it yourself. Or you can get some of it pre made off etsy and shit but will cost some money.

You often see people make little Star wars rooms or Star wars themed bars like this because it needs to be a more permanent thing to look good(or at least, spend time and money on larger items that look good and take up or cover a good amount of space). There's no scenario where a helmet and some lightsaber hilts set up on a table are going to do much of anything for actually giving your room a sw vibe outside of you being a consoomer who buys star wars shit.

All it needs, literally all it needs, is cool designs and then to make a bunch of cool toys out of these designs. SW made the majority of its money off its toy sales.
The movies are almost irrelevant. The prequels were not good, and even if you personally think they are it doesn't matter because when they came out they were objectively a disappointment in the zeitgeist. It didn't matter. Everyone still bought the toys, people loved the toys. The movies were a canvas that allowed the toys to be a canvas for people to do anything with. A space war with countless aliens and countless jedi and countless robots and a ton of vehicles and a bunch of bad guys.

If the designs were good and the toyline was a sprawling decent connected thing instead of split into 5 lines of varying scale that no one can use together then you'd see more people interested, more people try to get everything, etc, just like how it used to be. If 90% of SW merchandise was all compatible instead of a bunch of random bullshit, it would all sell just as much as now for sure and potentially much more. That's where the money is. A decent toyline, and if you doubt it, look that 80% of SW revenue is from the merchandise, not the films. The fact it has been mismanaged so badly has almost nothing to do with the media, that's just the final nail in the coffin.

I worked at Toysrus before TFA and after TLJ, and I didn't buy a single thing that was sequels themed. I would say that "I hope nobody else did either", but I don't have to hope because I know a bunch of the sequels toys were deadstock before our liquidation sales even started.
I did get one of these during the liquidation though, and was pleasantly surprised to know that it could guess EU characters like Exar Kun and Revan.

It's not though, it matches Kyle in the FMV cutscenes pretty well. The pants shade matches JKDF2's blackish pants much more than JO's tan pants and the face is very much young Kyle rather than JO Kyle. It matches the JKDF2 novella images the most. I believe they specifically said they were going for JKDF2 Kyle but went with the blue Outcast lightsaber because it's more iconic.

The only ones I ever got were the TVC repack of Kylo and one Sith trooper. I kind of wish we got more, honestly, and some updates to what we did get. I'd like an older Luke, but neither of the ones they made are all that great. A TROS Emperor would be nice too. I doubt it will happen now and in terms of sales they're probably better off not. They could probably reuse some parts for an older EU-sourced Luke of some kind, though.

Based opinion. Actually during the time TVC was on haitus in favor of the 5poa force links line, I was actively collecting these instead. Occasionally I would find a saga collection or episode 2 era figure for a good price but it reminded me that figures like PotF2 Greedo and random background aliens/droids were among my favorites as a child because I could make up my own stories for them easier.

They haven't done accessory packs since prequels, no. The closest was during the Clone Wars like was running and one of their lines had extra weapons packed in with each figure. That was honestly a great value at the time, but never any extra lightsabers or unique weapons.

It's not super high on my want list, though. An up-to-standard RotJ Emperor should come first. A RotS/arrest scene Palpatine would be nice too.

The problem is even the The Black Series ones look pretty dodgy with the fabric. It's one thing for Obi-Wan to have a good outer robe but it's another to have an entire figure draped in it. Even the new RotS Palpatine with Mace Windu looks rough. I'd still like to see TVC give it a whirl, though. If they made something better than TBS it wouldn't be the first time.

Would anyone know if the SHF Obi-Wan (Phantom Menace) has any differences between its original and reissues? Paint, better print, etc?

I'm assuming you would want something that's easy to film so a cockpit actually built into an actual vehicle would be kind of annoying. I couldn't think of anything that's specifically like a mecha cockpit but Ramen Toys sells pic related that is meant to upgrade the McFarlane Batmobile. It's less than $30 and you could set up some things around the sides with fake screens and greebles glued on and you'll sell the illusion of it being enclosed without getting frustrated that you can't get the angles you want. Just find a way to mod the steering wheel more into a flight/control stick which should be easy if you can find some junk model kits at a thrift store or something. Plus it's meant for 7" figures so that tank driver should have no problems fitting in.

I don't think I would mind the getting more 5/6 POA figures. But damn the recent stuff are just bore.
Yes I know people love their classic vintage figures from wayback but it's 2026 already no reason to have the modern figures aping the original Kenner pose.
Just have the figure in some kind of action poses or even stylized standing goes a long way to make a figure appealing.
The last modern five POA figure I got was The saga legend rebel snowtrooper (Came out in 2014? OMG where did last 10 years go?)

Comparing that to this, this one has a lot more shelf presence. Maybe it has to do with the more exaggerated body and slightly wider arms/legs pose?

Ask for the figure itself, he's still hold up pretty well after 30 years. I think the biggest complain is they didn't do a separate mold with the neck. So the neck connection it's made of the same material as the head, which is the rubber like material you can't really turn his head properly without feeling you are twisting off the neck (because you are)

Last thing- I think this figure looks better than the last TVC version. That one got extreme tiny head syndrome.

Why? If it's fixed in an action pose, it's basically a statue and what few points of articulation it has are made almost completely worthless.

I would rather have fixed neutral poses. The 5POA is still basically worthless but at least you can stand them in the background to fill out a display. I have some of the senators from the SAGA series which are essentially statues but I still like them because those characters don't move around much anyway and are good enough to set up senate/coruscant scenes.

Yeah I got 2-1B from POTF and love him. Again neutral pose with nearly useless articulation but that's basically how the actual film prop was so it's kind of perfect. I don't even want an updated TVC and all the joints would make it harder to get the stiff robotic pose. Just look at the Mandalorian Dark Troopers.

i'll risk sounding like an ancientfag with this one, but for whatever reason the older, less articulated figures from the late '90s to 2007 feel more like star wars figures than the newer more articulated ones
maybe it's because i was a kid in that era, but having picked up a couple figures i never knew about as a kid/ were slightly before my time i was surprised how much i liked them, limited articulation and all
the 1999 tpm and potj figures really stand out to me, for whatever reason

Maybe I would do a TCW movie set up with crumb bomber nose panel and no bubble turrets but we are missing phase I Rex. There is actually so much shit missing to do majority of scenes gunships are in like so many Jedi and clone battalions and their commanders. I’m sure Yoda at the very least is coming but crazy there’s still no actual word on him when he’s key for the Geonosis gunship landing scene they are building everything around. Oh yeah and there are no phase II pilots when 501st and 212th and shock troopers are all phase II… So unless you get them from an old line it doesn’t work. Of course you can get most everything from older lines but that’s lame.

You are getting like 7 or 8 nose art decals but there is only one set of blank panels which you will need to keep blank if you want a clean movie version… wtf is this bullshit? And there is no way to get more nose panels unless you backed additional $500 gunships. The Epic series figure is actually a pretty decent stand in. You can find it for like $7 or $8 on Amazon usually. And since it's pretty cheap, it won't be much of a loss if/when the TVC version comes along. At the very least you would get a blaster with a firing effect out of it, you just have to paint the gun part of it black.

desu they released too many phase II Rexs. Bracca is good and definitive but the 3.75 black series repack and the inaccurate poncho one in the Bad Batch 4 pack both were bad and unnecessary and could’ve been replaced with a phase I

tbs got a couple decent never evers like kyle and the two kotor packs, but lackluster everything else (watto and nala su are cool but there isn't much to do with them), the genosian is cool if you want to army build as well
tvc got a couple neat figures but most of them are remakes or stuck in exclusive hell

tbs tooled an entirely new base mold that is arguably the best one done in 1/12 scale and has only used it for r2, r5, and some random r4 i've never seen before from mando, not counting the christmas variant
afaik the most recent easily available astromech in tvc was the rogue one r2, and all the others being exclusives or droid factory
why is hasbro like this? in the past there was always some sort of glup shitto astromech on the market

The overuse of 2-packs is the main issue to me. For characters like Dogma and Hardcase, sure, whatever, but why is Traya in a 2-pack with Nihilus? Most everyone now has him as a result of the rerun, most people just want Traya. Same with Jacen and Jaina. Many people already have Jaina and even if they might want to rebuy her for a better face she should be separated from Jacen so people can just get him if they're fine with the old Jaina. At this point HK-47 is probably going to be paired with Revan which means I would have to get him for the third time just to get HK-47.

Is there even a good protocol sculpt in either scale? The Disney Droid Factory 3.75 are always pumping out astromechs or do you want them in 6 inch? I’m not sure why they don’t make more repaints of the black series astromech when they have a good mold. There’s a similar problem with clones. I know clone haters feel like there’s too many clones but in actuality they haven’t scratched the surface. I am guessing it’s because of things like factory scheduling and lucasfilm mandates. I don’t really want to say consumer demands because they often make unpopular characters that are destined to be peg warmers. Maybe it’s just not a priority for them and no one on the character selection teams ever pitches them.

it's been a while since i've messed around with it but i remember the black series 3p0 sculpt from the escape from bespin pack from 2020ish was pretty good, far better than the original one anyways
3.25 has had a couple of 'fine' sculpts for protocol droids but most of them are either pretty limited, which is normal because all they do is stand around anyways, or try some gimmick and is compromised because of it, like the dogshit 3p0 we've had for 16 years at this point
even if there were mandates, surely they would know that astro droids at the very least would sell, they've always had dedicated collectors
