Genuinely surprised and disappointed Mcfarlanes never rereleased the old GL power batteries especially when they had access to the molds
>>11884789>no ryan reynolds green lantern>no jack black green lanternAre Green Lantern fans the most punished subfaction of the DC fandom? Flash fans have had it pretty rough, too. Was thinking about picking up their Kryptonite replica thing but it's battery powered instead of a power cord, so no, I'll just buy a cluster of real crystals instead.
>>11884670>>Wave 2 of DC Premiere (Superman, Jon Stewart, Jokerized Batman, Batman (Stealth Suit)Are these in stores? It looks like Mattel is sending them out to consumers directly, but some other sites either don't have them listed at all, still show pre-order or don't have ALL of those as in-stock?
>>11884826Available on Amazon the past 2 weeks
I’m starting to think figures shouldn’t move at the waist at all and instead should prioritize a ball joint in the chest that has a “drop down” like feature you can pull to get more range.
>>11884826I've seen them at Target, but it's pretty sporadic, mostly because of them only giving the line 1 peg. And if Flash, or Batman clogs the peg, well...
>>11884516There's a level of irony posting that with a picture of Conan figure that uses the old He-Man Classics body.
>>11884701>The Mattel Superman (the one with the trunks at least) isn't in stores yet.I was going off BBTS' pre-order listing that said it was coming in August, and it is in stock there, but I both don't really wanna pay for the shipping if it is gonna show up in stores here a week or so later, and also I enjoy finding toys in the wild if I can, which given how shitty the toy retail market here is, is not a very common thing.I'm also tempted by the 12 inch figure. I'm bummed that they're making it with rigid plastic, I was hoping that maybe they're go back to the vinyl style of yester-year.
>>11884834Yeah, that I saw - for $2+ more than Mattel, which is $1 more than Target and Walmart has had them. Don't need to pay some premium for a kid's toy that will likely be on sale at some point this black friday.>>11884842yeah, me too, just the first wave and the 12inchers
>>11884857Yeah it's kinda garbage but it's the only perfect movie ever made and he can do the iconic pose. Really hyped for the Belit and Conan figures from Boss Fight that are supposed to ship soonish. McFarlane's old Belit was pretty fun to repaint. Also hyped for Monolith's new Conan kickstarter with two new expansions. I've been all in for every campaign since their first one about a decade ago and still haven't painted half the minis. But I always say yes to more Conan and have the rest of my life to paint them.I grew up reading Conan books and comics and watching the movie on repeat with my dad. He-Man is some weird effeminate knock-off Mattel made because they were scared of making figures for the Arnie movie, right?I guess if you're like 50 and grew up with it then it's cool, but if you don't have any sort of nostalgic attachment to Masters of the Universe then it's pretty uhhhh flamboyant and the bright neon colors are pretty like a Lisa Frank painting. Which is cool. Super cool. And manly.
I need fat Catman now.
>>11884870You sound insecure.
>>11884870The movies are garbage adaptations of Conan and even Arnold has far better films. Funny how you make fun of others for their nostalgia when most of your toy ramblings are full of it.
>>11884692I can't speak for your Mezco, but all the Toddslop, including the bright knight crap you passed on, sold out.I'm sure Todd is sleeping erect all night long knowing that in 20 years, his plastic crack will have FOMO increased in value by .02%
>>11884870>He-Man is some weird effeminate knock-off Mattel made because they were scared of making figures for the Arnie movie, right? That was the rumour because Mattel were approached to do a toyline, but realised that the content of the movie wasn't suitable for a children's toyline.Really He-Man was made because the higher ups at Mattel were still kicking themselves for saying no to picking up the license for Star Wars when they had the opportunity, so really MOTU is more a rip-off of Star Wars, the fact that there is such a strong Sword and Sorcery element is because Roger Sweet thought that stuff was cool. The "effeminate" aspect was entirely because the cartoon was done by Filmation who turned everything into a comedy. On a personal note, I kind of hate the Filmation cartoon for what it turned MOTU into, if you read the original mini-comics they are way darker and more interesting, Prince Adam is a Filmation original idea and kinda ruins the character.
>>11884911Robert E. Howard's stuff was about the rejection of society, about how people are evil and will only try to fuck you over so the only thing you can trust is your own strength to wield a sword. Conan's women die and he has different arcs and phases in his life as he matures, there are actual stakes and lessons learned from the scars knitting his body.He-Man is Sesame Street with swords, it's meant to teach children not to steal and to always love your family. I don't know how many different ways to say I missed the window on He-Man and it's never going to be interesting to me.
>>11884870>tripfag (confirmed homosexual)>enraged by He-ManMore evidence that He-Man is based.
>>11884946>He-Man is Sesame Street with swordsFilmation He-Man is this, but other comic iterations have largely moved away from this, even if they continue to use elements from the Filmation lore. The 2021 CGI series is easily the best He-Man thing since the original mini-comics. The original Mini-comics themselves are wildly different from the cartoon because they were written before the Filmation stuff came out.I'm not saying you HAVE to like He-Man, but don't discount the entire franchise because of one instance. That would be like throwing out all of DC because of Super Friends or Teen Titans Go!
>>11884889We really need more figures based on the animated series - and I don't mean more Timm crap.
>>11884905I'm going to assume those are third party scalpers
>>11884907>but all the Toddslop, including the bright knight crap you passed on, sold outOk? Why do I care that he only made 3000 units for his artificial scarcity fomo bullshit? I don't collect that crap.
>>11885055You don't think Target has added "Ross Exclusives" to their inventory? Some idiots probably do but then there's actually very little, McFart-wise, you can order from Actual Target on their website since no product that the Toddler has released - since probably last summer - has made it onto the Target website FOR actual shipping or delivery. There's literally three things you can buy - all pre-2021 peg-warmers.
>>11885136Hasbro is catching on to Todd's game. They made the retro Lizard and Venom reissues $35 and very limited and they sold out everywhere
>>11885266The reissues are only $35 because of prices increases to everything else. Lizard was a $30 Walmart exclusive and Venom was a $31 Pulse exclusive. They've only increased in price in line with the rest of ML's price increases.
>>11884990I disagree. Filmation's He-man broke censorship boundaries when it came to cartoon violence while fending off Satanic Panic speculators. I've been re-watching it with my kids and it holds up way better than Super Friends which just out refused to balance it's cast even into the Super Powers era. He-man also had a great group of writers working on it J. Michael Straczynski, Paul Dini, Brynne Stephens, Larry DiTillio, David Wise, and Tom Ruegger.
>>11885321And Todd also made his sdcc exclusives cost more. Everyone does that. But the small production run combined with higher prices. That is the mark of the Todd

I heard him tell at least two other people about that scene and both times it ended with, "it's a great show, you should watch it."He also followed a lot of trans people on tiktok and we're all pretty sure his wife was cheating on him. That's the type who likes that stuff, I guess.Of course, the real reason we should be angry is they used Earth X and wanted to show people dicks instead of the Freedom Fighters. I guess Uncle Sam, Phantom Lady, and The Ray are lower priority than gay porn for modern DC. What a time to be alive.
>>11885523well game of thrones being so popular tricked slopbrains into thinking nudity was a prerequisite for "prestige" TV but #MeToo destroyed Hollywood's ability to show tits and womens' asses, let alone fake pubic hair, and that's why for the past ten years most of the nudity has been male ass and flaccid cocks and sex scenes where the girl is still wearing her bra or shirtyou can basically pinpoint when it happened during whichever season of game of thrones when the ratio of tits to dicks shifted

>>11885548maggots > faggots
Well anyway. I just finished adding leaves to my first couple squads of Waffen SS for a Phantom Lady miniatures game. I printed about 30 more but they'll just be regular Wermacht. There's a sniper team, a machinegun team, and instead of full team of panzergrenadiers there's just one guy dual wielding potato mashers with two panzerfausts strapped to his back.I also painted a 101st Airborne paratrooper with a requisitioned MG42 to help Phantom Lady fight Nazis.I finally have enough bad guys to play a full game this weekend, and only a couple more squads until I can play a full game of Bolt Action or Konflikt 47.Every day I'm checking McFarlane's site and watching preorders become available. Catwoman and Doomsday might ship by the end of the week.

>>11886543It's a really popular toyline outside the internet and has a lot of speculators thinking these end of the line figures are going to have huge resale value. Target is even giving it a lot of real estate in it's shrunken toy sections. Make no mistake though 90% of what's getting bought now is staying inbox with it's QC issues. That's the reason I tapped out already. I've had 4 figures in a row with something I have to fix out of the box. I even found Bloodwynd out in the wild today and left him. But compare the McFart containment sub on reddit with DC Cinematic (which the Snyder Cult took captive after 2017 and still had a stronghold on it up until reddit started firing mods (circa lockdown) when they were trying to monetize that shit-hole site. The DCEU sub had hundreds of thousands of members, posts in the millions of upvotes (even if many of those were manufactured bot upvotes), and a lot of engagement and activity. The McFarlane sub has probably less than 10% of that. But inb4 anyone starts going all 'plebbit' - you can also just do a Google Trends chart or one of those social media rankings off x-shitter, and see that things like 250 Anniversary Duke (GI Joe's) or Maximum Spider-Man (Hasbro) will get far more mentions (recorded, registered) of any actual kind of social media sites.

>>11886418>Todd could probably make an invisible figure with nothing but gloves and shoes in the box and it'd sell.Anon, you sassy bitch!
>>11886543>>11886556>>11886955>I really don't even understand why people ever jumped into this line in the first placeBecause it's DC, and outside of imports or stuff aimed at small children it's all there is.Also for all the jokes about how many Batman figures Todd makes, the Multiverse line has been extremely diverse in character selections, it also helped that there was a lot of unique sculpting for the figures as opposed to when Mattel last had the license and put every single figure on the same three base bodies.I think if McFarlane hadn't hobbled the line by making it 7 inch it would probably have done much better. I initially stayed clear of the line because it wouldn't mix with any of my existing DC figures, but it's hard to deny that there are some genuinely great figures, easily the best Christopher Reeve Superman since the Hot Toys, he's the only one that has done a Brandon Routh Superman since the original movie tie-in line. I just wish he'd done a George Reeves and Dean Cain Superman as well.
>>11886948How does this company get any sales?
>>11886543Don't worry, you're not the only one. I've tried numerous times over the years to get into the line and every single time I get a figure from Todd, I'm always met with some level of frustration or annoyance. If it isn't the weird proportions or the articulation scheme getting in the way of what should be simple movement, it's stuff like the the ratchets in the joints settling either too far forward or too far back to have a figure properly stand. So I don't get it, I really don't. Some of his big figs aren't outright terrible, but honestly, most of his stuff is pretty bad.
>>11887036>the ratchets in the joints settling either too far forward or too far back to have a figure properly stand. This is a major problem, I like the McFarlane stuff (what little I've bought) but this is something that really fucks up the enjoyment I have. Honestly I just don't get McFarlane's idea of articulation.
>>11887010>I just wish he'd done a George Reeves and Dean Cain Superman as well.I know we're not supposed to like Dean Cain anymore, but he was a genuinely great Superman, and for a lot older fans like myself he's easily in the top 3. I don't get why we can't have a figure of him.
>>11885801Papa Smurf?
>>11886567>>11886568Nice accessories.
>>11887045Why aren't we allowed to like Dean Cain? He doesn't seem like the sex pest type, was it thought crimes on the internet? The Action Comics reprint with the shiny S might end up being my Dean Cain. There are a couple headaculpts out there, but I'm hoping someday someone realizes how much money a Lois & Clark pack would make.I think we'd all want a Teri Hatcher Lois more than another Superman.
Didn't have any dc figures before todd besides the mafex Batman and was instantly put off by how bad the scale and proportions were. Came back for the titans wave and only get the ones I like and limit doubles to being each a different outfit for a specific team, JLU, Lego, and B B&B batmen for example. But fuck me you gotta customize each one and the women only have 2 body styles; wonder woman and black cat. I won't be getting Mattel, they sucked then, they suck now, and they'll suck down the line but so did mcfarts.
>>11887121>was it thought crimes on the internet?Yeah, he openly supports Trump, he recently joined ICE, makes fun of Trannies and admitted to laughing at a joke about Milly Alcock looking like a caveman. These are all unforgivable sins according to some, which is why he was fired from the Supergirl series and they killed off his character off-screen. Which sucks because firstly he was great as Superman, and secondly he is also consistently described by co-stars like Teri Hatcher as being a really nice and caring guy, but in "current year" you're not allowed to have facets.>I think we'd all want a Teri Hatcher Lois more than another Superman.Teri Hatcher is easily the best Lois Lane. I've been rewatching Lois & Clark for the first time since it originally aired in the 90s and I'd forgotten just how perfect Teri is, she's easily the sexiest, but she also captures that "get the story first, worry about the bullets second" mentality that gets Lois into trouble all the time.

>>11887010>it's all there is.I'm the third person you're responding to, the one who referenced social.I don't disagree with you about, conceptually, the Toddster being the only game in town. But the FOMO, the cult aspect, the helping to gin up the False Scarcity, The Scalper Effects, and most importantly, the entire "do not open the box" / "these are investments" mentality of SOME of the collectors, who got very loud and did thing that encouraged other collectors (e.g. Captain Carrot, Beast Boy, the original Kon-El Superboy) into paying absurd prices for shoddy junk, etc. etc. What you are talking about is the people who buy 1-2 figures ever so often. What I am talking about are the people who didn't just drink the Kool-Aide but guzzle it down like new borns who need their first meal. The ones who order ever pre-order, and bitch when their boxes are damaged, even if the box contents are perfectly fine, etc. etc.
>>11887180>the entire "do not open the box" / "these are investments" mentality of SOME of the collectorsI fortunately don't see a lot of that. I'll keep a backing card if the art is nice, but I genuinely hate the mentality of toys being catered to or treated as exclusively collector items. Sure it means that companies are innovating with articulation or sculpt or face-printing which is kinda nice, but it's also why toys cost 5 to 10 times more than what they used to regardless of inflation or how much actual fucking plastic is in the box. I saw a god damn Vintage Series Star Wars figure going for more than the Black Series figures on the peg above it in a store the other day because it was "deluxe."The whole industry and far too many collectors take toys too seriously these days, and there is way too much predatory shit from the companies making them.
>>11887195nigga there's a guy in these very fucking threads who never shuts up about buying 8 of the same catwoman figure or whatever

>another sun has set>I'm still not holding my second Doomsday, fourth Catwoman, or my sixteenth and seventeenth SupermenMaybe Monday. This is the last weekend I have to sigh at this tiny dick midget Doomsday from DC Direct who's been locked in A pose since 2007.
Ever since I saw the Imaginext Doomsday set I've wanted a Doomsday big enough for Superman to ride into battle like a tamed beast he lets hang out in the Fortress of Solitude. I might pick up a couple more of the old Kryptonian battlesuits as Doomsday killer armor for the Fortress bots to keep him from getting rowdy while Superman's busy.
My DCMV Bronze Tiger broke right out of the box a few weeks ago. I just got in this black Batman today so I can do this custom. I can't decide if I want to paint some of the accents brown or just paint some orange stripes on his arms and legs.

I know it's probably really difficult to do, but I wish more toy companies would give Batman enough cape to at least get close to this, instead of always just having a rectangle that went straight down the back.
>>11887965nah
>>11887988Don't be a scallywag.
>>11887965I'm suprised the premium companies don't just give him multiple capes for different display options.
>>11887992Even the premium companies are trying to keep costs down because they know once you get into that $140 range you're competing with InArt and ain't nobody wants to compete with InArt
>>11887996Okay, why doesn't InArt do it then?
>>11888005They probably haven't thought of it. Someone needs to open designers up to the idea that people want these different cape styles. The closest someone came was somehow Todd with that one Batman that was either encased in a giant insane plastic cape and became a statue or was out and had a cloth cape. That isn't the same thing as a normal closed cape like >>11887965 though

Any of you collect the Kenner TAS Batman stuff?
>>11888125Back in the Starman 90s series. Saw a youtube video on it and thought it was interesting given we have our local Starman #1 fan roaming this gen. Before him I had never heard of the character.
>>11888355I had like maybe 1-2 back when they came out but never focused on them in modern times. I assume this gen is mostly focused on newer figures or the Todd TAS releases rather than vintage. Vintage stuff doesn't seem to get talked about much here (except guys trying to exclaim that Total Justice is coming back somehow in a joking manner)
>>11888404Yeah it's one of my favorite scenes in the entire series. Jack stops blasting Grundy and shows him compassion, letting him stay with Ted and Starman Michael. Grundy and Michael actually become best bros and hang out together, and Grundy getting hurt is what triggers Michael into remembering how to use his powers.Grundy's always been a big retard the League just pummels, something that distracts Superman for a couple seconds so the rest of the team can square off with dipshits like Copperhead and Killer Frost for a couple seconds until Superman decides he's tired of fucking around with Grundy and saves the day for everyone. Jack finds another solution that doesn't involve blowing things up, he just tries talking to Grundy like a normal person. It's one of the coolest things about Jack, his greatest strength isn't the cosmic staff, it's his heart and sincerity. The issue where he meets Superman is really cool. Starman seems like an edgy superhero with the goggles and tattoos but under that he's all about family and trying to do the right thing.
>>11888051That figure looks good, but 1. Price, and 2. I don't need ANOTHER Hush Batman (seriously why is it always Hush Batman these days?). I'm not saying that people shouldn't be excited for the figure or that it doesn't do what I was talking about, I'd just like to see the closed cape adopted on a wider scale.
>>11888355I had a whole bunch as a kid, Infrared Batman, Mech-Wing Batman, the Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson figures you could turn into Batman and Robin, the Ninja Batman and Robin (which for some reason I always used as villainous dopplegangers), bunch of the vehicles too. I still have them all in storage right now, but a few years back I see about picking up the screen-accurate figures, I got Joker, Harley, a Robin, the Batmobile which replaced the incomplete one I had from childhood (a shithead kid I knew stole the inner jet thing), and of course Combat Belt Batman.I keep meaning to buy some custom capes for Batman and Robin, hence Robin's lack of cloth here.
Blog time. Opening this 2 pack is the closest I felt to those halcyon days of McFarlane's early DC output, since I never got the original Batman Who Keks and Merciless. Exploring how totally unknown molds with crazy sculpted designs articulated and looking at the little sculpted details--that was the feeling of the early days of the line. Every figure was like a new discovery and quite different from other figures. There was something earnest about the line then even if it was clumsily engineered and had problems. It was like somewhat incompetent artists with little engineering experience giving their best effort.Didn't hurt that the 2 pack was on sale for mid-$40s, down from the obscene $80 MSRP, so closer to the old prices too.Now though the typical release just doesn't have that old feel due to endless waves of reuse and the designs chosen. There's nothing really new to discover and the molds usually lack many unique sculpted details. Plus the sculpted details that are present often don't work for the character due to inappropriate reuse from a different figure.
