>>11888631that poor dark elf guyLego (finally!) does D&D figures!!!includes generic class figures, but also... named-characters!surely they will use popular dark elf guy!!---- nope!m-maybe they are saving him for a bigger D&D set?? w-when they do a theme spread of sets??- Lego never does D&D again...* fun rant can be used for Animal Crossing, Sonic, Star Trek, Overwatch,... most of the Dimensions properties like A-Team and Dr. Who... among others
It appears my superiority has led to some controversy.
>>11888641>Dr. WhoI don't see the problem in that particular case, since they did do the best Doctor. Twice (Upon a Time), even.
>>11888628This dude clearly has toes and a saddle.
>>11888707Shut the fuck up, faggot.
>>11888707There are still some in the wild. Clearly crossbreeding the domesticated ones and the wild ones yields some strange results. Mixing also clearly has unforeseen side effects. Note it's aversion to sunlight. Yoshi breeding should be handled by professionals. I mean look at what those primitive screw heads did on Isle Delfino, those ones vomit up fruit juice and die if submerged in water.
Did somebody die
>>11888709Even fat yoshi has a saddle.>>11888726>what horrors hath god wrought
>>11888744>>11888726>>11888707>>11888628Some of the beta yoshi designs were shoeless but they ALWAYS had the saddle shell, some of these look like plausible ancestors but I think yoshi didn’t always wear the shoes, just its cultural for em, stuff like them coming out of the shell with them on is more just the guys going “ew I don’t wanna model baby dino feet” more than anything I suspect.
>>11888749It's interesting how wrong Yoshi looks without shoes. The entire top row looks like deranged creepypasta jokes until you get to the rightmost and suddenly he's recognizable.
>>11888749
>>11888788Top row looks strikingly similar to the mario 1 version, also how his shell only got color by g3, genuinely the nintendo gigaleak was very interesting for findind out things, just too bad Leak 3 of Gamecube and beyond or more N64/Nes/Snes stuff never happened
I'm curious which part of "FUCK OFF WITH THE NINTODDLER SHIT" was unclear.
>>11888846Huh?
>>11888661>Batteries not included Sign of a terrible toy.>>11888846Sorry bud, but if you're still a Xbox/GayStation kid in 2026 I just feel sorry for you.
>>11888851>hUh?Colour me surprised.
>>11888860It’s Tablet you’re replying to, also who will get >>11888888
>>11888862Huh?
>>11888862That's not talking about lego related thingsYou faggots are having autism pissing fights over game accuracies for stupid shit
>>11888862Cool moc bro
>>11888883Death Troopers look so dumb in Lego. Their entire thing is being abnormally tall and lanky so when they are made into a squat minifigure shape they just look fat and weird. We really could use minifigure legs that are just a single plate's width longer than normal, inbetween normal legs and Woody legs.
>>11888628>Those boots aren't boots either, something more akin to a hoof.
>>11888623So what's the final consensus on the new sets? I think they are awesome, can't wait to get most of them, a shame Sonic died but this is superior. Curious what sets we get in the summer wave and hopefully they stay affordable and non smart play.
>>11888938fine just already tired of discussion
>>11888938Crazy we got mariokart world sets
Lego was at Pokemon XP this weekend and they teased a few smart play sets coming in 2027 such as Mankey, Grookey, Wingull, Pichu and Charcadet.Plus we already had a couple of next year's smart play Pokémon leaked in a list so we can add Croagunk, Lavritar, Riolu and Scorbunny to the lineup. No idea why they didn't just reveal them fully instead of teasing. Next lego reveals will be at NYCC, they'll be a new anime theme..
>>11888947Something else to add, apparently smart play sells very well (the pokemon line), so in 2027 it will have a global launch so we'll have lots of re-releases for other markets.
>>11888938I think Sonic needs a relaunch, maybe smart play Sonic sets are not a bad idea...>>11888947I hope they reveal Hello Kitty sets soon, crazy that license was at so many brick building companies
>>11888949>smart play sells very well (the pokemon line)Probably despite SP, not because of it thanks to the Pokeyman IP.
>>11888949>>11888947Shut the fuck up shilly.
>>11888938Bowser airship is being teased in the castle
>>11888938I ABSOLUTELY do not buy the idea Sonic is cancelled, yes, I can see Animal Crossing being cancelled but not Sonic. I believe they are changing the release approach and release summer waves going forward like they do with One Piece theme. So instead of 2 sets in winter and 3 in summer we get 4-5 sets in summer. There's still so much to do with Lego Sonic including the fact Mario now has minifigs they are just ruining crossover potential if they cancel it.
>>11888962no one really cares about sonic these days, anon. Mario has much wider appeal and are likely replacing the sonic sets. Animal Crossing is more likely to stick around than sonic.
>>11888970AC will be replaced by Starfox sets
This is all clearly building up to a Super Smash Bros wave and sonic doesn’t make the cut.
Nice moc, bro.
I want more Sonic Crossworlds sets.
>Sonic line gets cancelled>gets replaced with sets based on the movies so they don't have to do any Robotnik-bigfigs or brickbuilt Badniks anymore and can just fill the sets with generic fleshies and the occasional Sonic character (only one per set)
>>11888979I bet we’d still get both these guys in a set.So quirky!Fuck sonic.
>>11888973You can make a classic smash set with Mario, yoshi, pika, and link
>>11888955Supposedly kids like the smart play features but I can totally see them forgetting about them when the brick runs out of charge after a few minutes and just playing without it.
>>11888623>my bootleg Beholder as op picOmg?
>>11889008I'm interested to see you tackle the other animals
>>11888983Wait, they did this meme in the movie?
>>11889026Yes, except it was his granpa.
>>11888938it's not as bad as Animal Crossing was, but I still feel like they need to have a couple more Minifigs. not in EVERY set, like AC seemed, but it's obvious that the $100 Bowser Castle should have had a couple extra Koopa Troopas and Goombas. 1 of each? ridiculous!I bet each one of the sets has the effect where you thought it seemed like a good-enough deal, and you buy it, and you put it together, and afterwards you look at it and think "$100 for THIS? it's kinda not as much as I thought it was...." (and have that little sting of sadness)
>>11888972I highly doubt that. I could see a small run of Star Fox sets though.
>>11889040No, you couldn't, you banal bumpnigger.
>>11888670That's not Eccleston
>>11888972>>11889040>Starfox setsStarfox would totally get the "Zelda" treatment, one giant set with ALL of them together for hundreds of dollars. like four ships on a giant displayslop base. (flip a lever to do a barrel roll!)I bet somebody at Lego already had this discussion, there's no way they could do it for less than $550 and they don't think they could get away with that, Starfox is simply not that popular (popular, sure. but not $550-worth-popular)I triple-dog-dare Lego to try a one ship, all four team members on a tiny display thing, for like, $60. I doubt it would sell like crazy, but I'd love to see the experiment play out.
>>11889118>WAOWIE I sure wish Lego would make [license] merchandise for me to slop up like a good little consoomer!Fuck off, retard.
>>11888938>>11888962I wonder if I should just bite the bullet and get pic related so that I can have him crossover with the Mario Kart sets. I don't really like having duplicates as I already have the campfire set but if we're getting more karts than I'd have to be stupid to not go all in.
Here we fuckin go, freaking peak
>>11889169I would have preferred minifigures.
>>11889170Respectfully disagree. Wallace and Gromit have such unique shapes to them, minifigs would just not have worked. Think of the minifig Gru from that brief Despicable Me Lego series. I'm still not interested in buying the set, but this is one time I think it makes sense for brick built. >>11889140You want to, you just need permission from us to do it. So, bite that bullet and buy the set.
Another booknook
>>11889169when will Lego be defeated?other companies can 100% copy "giant thing built outta bricks" yet nobody is even close to getting even a piece (heh) of the consumer human monies away from Lego
>>11889177>>11889169Fuck off.
>>11889179
>>11889177>1690 pieces>ingots and 1x1sWAHAHAHAHA
The rise and fall of the new legos road plate system.
>>11888641those once a year IP crossover CMFs should have 16 figures. Maybe they could have done a human bard to fit a dark elf in, but I would have way rather had another 4 characters.
>>11888731What did those mixel joints ever do to you?!?
>>11889222Be incompatible, and be only in 2 colors
Decided to continue on my Adventurers MOCing kick, but needed a few more characters to pad things out. Sam Sinister usually switches out his flunkies every year, so here's Felix Sinister (his nephew) and Curator Illsley (the director of the Cairo museum who's been driven crazy by cursed artefacts)
The pair seek the mythical Book of the Dead, and their expedition has led them to the great statue of Anubis... Time to blow it up!
Pressing the (moderately) hidden button at the side of the statue triggers the TNT explosion, and blasts the front facade away
The Book of the Dead is revealed - but so too is its guardian: the accursed sorcerer-king, Khansul-Set!
>>11889250Damn modern lego books are fat
>>11889169Cheeeeese Gromit!
>>11889250Based
Hey guys I heard Lego was doing Star Trek the Next Generation™ sets now! That sounds awesome! I'd love to pick up some small pocket-money sets featuring my favourite characters and moments! Perhaps a little set with Geordie and Data and that little table in engineering, doing an exciting technobabble experiment! Or perhaps Riker and Yar confronting the black slime creature Armus! Or perhaps a loading bay playset featuring Word with a play feature that tilts a shelf, causing blue barrel bricks to roll off! As an adult man I can't wait to purchase these and play with them at my next sleepover. Maybe they could even be combined into some wack-ass creative alt builds! Make it so!
>>11889360I hate the antichrist
I've always thought Lego themes have more sets than they do, and loads of them are just the same basis stuff like a billion versions of a sports car or police car
>>11889360>I'd love to pick up some small pocket-money sets featuring my favorite characters and moments!...you have to make all that yourself, it will cost you $400 for the Minifigs and if you want extras of any of the torsos, that's another $400since you're a grown-up, and not a child, clearly you can spend that kind of money on a toy. please understand Lego is a small family-owned business they have to stop at some point
Lego's newest Christmas sets for purchase on Oct 1st. >40865 Buddy the Elf>$40 with 713 pieces
>40874 Santa's Holiday Countdown>$60 with 873 pieces
>40875 Up-Scaled Mrs. Claus Minifigure>$60 with 904 pieces
>>11889169>>11889644>>11889647>>11889649I admit I don't buy modern sets so I'm not familar with sales trends but are these statueesque sets really selling that well that they're becoming the standard for one time licensed themes? For stylized stuff like Wallace and Gromit I think kt works fine but these and especially the shrek one look awful to me.
>>11889644I'm so glad France is going is going to shit for making me see this shit you fucking frog piece of shit
An example ranking system for lego sets.**1. COOL / AESTHETICS:** Does it look sick on the shelf or is it mid?**2. BUILD / CLEVERNESS:** Good building techniques or just mindless stacking?**3. PLAY / DISPLAY:** Is it sturdy and fun to fiddle with, or a dust trap?**4. PARTS / VALUE:** Am I getting ripped off on price-per-brick and stickers?**5. ALT-BUILD POTENTIAL:** Can I tear it down later to make cool MOCs?Gotta say those Christmas sets there are decidedly mid to low on these factors. You cant even display them all year round if that's your thing. I guess they have bold colours going for them.
