What are you talking about, that looks fucking awesome. Little heavy on the shading for my taste, but sculpt-wise it's fantastic.
I bought the earlier black cape Hush Bats from McFarlane and was recently debating buying the recent blue cape one just for the wired cape, now I'm just gonna wait for the regular release of this figure.
I'm curious to see what they do with Superman, will they also go Hush or will it be a more evergreen design? I hope they go for more of a John Byrne look, or Dan Mora.

Nah I always said I was done collecting DC stuff when Todd stops releasing figures, and it's because I knew this is what Mattel's stuff would look like. They're even showing off the blank buck they're going to use for the line lmao
I'll pick up a Power Girl or Phantom Lady, but I hate everything about Mattel's proportions and aesthetics, there's some kind of greasy pleading desperation their stuff has that I find inherently repulsive.
Blokees is really exciting though, if Catwoman is fun to put together I'll come back for all their DC releases.

>>

>>
>>11917874
Fun fact bitch tits, you don't NEED any of this. And no one is forcing you to buy this set if you don't want to. You guys are all acting like this is standard when they said it literally isn't, and that you're being forced at gunpoint to buy it. Cut it out. Don't like it don't buy it. I think it's pretty cool and nicely done, but I already have a Hush Batman with a rooftop diorama all set so it's a skip for me, but you don't see me getting all pissy because they did something I already have.
>>
>>11917875
Honestly, outside of imports, it's the best we've gotten for DC figures. Certainly better than the Toddslop we've been forced to eat for the past 6 years.
>>
>>11917874

Why are you replying to yourself? You know nobody is falling for this, right?
>>
>>11917885

>>
>>11917884
>>11917883
fuck off both of you. if I wanted to get an opinion of the batman figure that will start a collectible line then I shouldn't be expected to fork over a premium for some bullshit diorama. it's Mattel who didn't have to do this.
this thing is a scam and you're all sheep. die.
>>
>>11917792
>this being a figure locked behind $100 web exclusive
it's fucking Batman, they're gonna release it standalone
>>
>>11917885
Exactly. This Mattel stuff looks as mid as Hasbro's ML has been. Maybe even worse since the articulation on Hush Batman isn't very good. But even Hasbro level or slightly worse than that is still better than McFarlane stuff that was like a decade behind the times. McFarlane didn't even have pinless joints which has been the industry standard for many years now
>>
>>11917894
marvel legends still have pins and the articulation is worse than mcfarlane. you people have no toys.
>>
>>11917746
The face sculpt is a miss and I wish the knees were better but it's otherwise exactly what I expected.

I get the feeling that these DC figures are probably gonna adapt the MOTU stuff, just that this was in development by a different team.

Firstly you don't have to put the cape right against the water vapour if you're that paranoid, secondly the only way it would soak the cape is if you pressed it right against the vapour and then left it there running for hours on end. And even if it did soak the cape, all you need to do is move it to a dry environment and let the water evaporate off, as for where the cape meets the plastic, the absorbent nature of the fabric will wick water away from the plastic and spread it through the rest of the cape where it will dry out.
For mould to grow you would need to keep the figure in a warm, moist environment 24/7.
And if you're that fucking paranoid about all of that, then simply don't use the vapour feature, or just wait for the single release that doesn't come with the rooftop.

Also mould spores are literally everywhere, you're breathing the spores in right now, the only thing that causes them to propagate is warmth and moisture, a toy with a small vaporiser is not going to be adding enough moisture to create mould in your house unless it's already dank as fuck. I think the hair isn't big enough to balance out the jaw which doesn't look as sharp as the artwork, but that also might be the lighting and the lens. The premier Superman also has a very prominent jaw (quite Schwarzenegger-esque) but the hair helps square the head and balance it. If we're lucky then the neck balls will be the same and you can just switch them. Though I'm sure Mattel will release another Superman with a different head later on anyway.

Absolute Batman, Catwoman, Hawkman, Flash, Superman, and Wonder Woman with a BAF Bane? That's a pretty incredible wave. But given that the big 3 are all in this wave, I'd have to think that any other Absolute figures will just be one-offs in other waves. I'll definitely be getting wave 1 if that's it, will wait and see for more. Hawkman is a pretty wild choice, but I'm not mad at it. He's kind of an anti-hero, so I guess it's just him and Bane.

Like others said, it just indicates that they're trying to stick closely to current comics. The original Mattel era basically started the same, but more with the four Horsemen's own interpretations of the modern costumes, before Scott Neitlich steered it to being mostly focused on 70's/80's designs with some exceptions, until the line petered out with the last few waves attempting to cover the modern Lanterns so you had a bunch of 80's era designs sticking out next to modern day Lanterns. A mess all around.
Then they tried to relaunch keeping up with New 52 and later Rebirth, but the quality went even shittier.

The amount of time and energy wasted on stupid fucking shit only Scott liked in DCUC is amazing. You got some of the best sculptors in toys and DC in a pretty peak era in the mid/late 2000's before New 52 and you have them wasted on Golden Pharoah and Cyclotron. No modern Superboy(until much later), no Jason Todd Red Hood, no Miss Martian, no Batwoman, no Stephanie Brown Batgirl, no Dick Bat and Damian Robin. When we got some of those they were way shittier.
At least this time they seem to be catering more to what's relevant.

You'd think they'd put the Bane piece with the no tits version to boost the sales. Seriously, is there anyone that would bother with the non-cleavage version when the other is available?
>>
>>11918289
Do we really want to be getting into variants again like with Todd's bullshit? If it's a variant with no way to preorder that specifically I'm not buying.
>>
>>11918310
>catering more to what's relevant.
Dc itself is barely relevant sadly thats why hush (2000s) is the focus

Absolute is outselling Marvel

>Eat shit, the Mattel figures ALL look good
they look like literal baby toys, same as the last time they had the license
>>
>>11918316
NoTits is army builder. There are many catwomen in her comics.
>>
>>11918323
willing to bet the dullest no-name manga is mogging marvel right now probably not really a great feat
>>
>>11918317
I don't like variant shit but also this >>11918300 could be the case where it's different accessories between the BAF piece vs the gun she normally comes with.

>>11918316
Yep. I'm surprised it's the other way around in this case.
>>
>>11918316
It seems to have the masked helmet, so that's something. Surely it isn't trading in a little submachinegun for the entirety of the baf parts.
>>
>>11918331
>There are many catwomen in her comics.
Oh damn I didn't think of that but you're right. Actually neat they'd make the army builder one without the BAF piece then.
>>
>>11918310
They should have put a mandate that out of every wave at least two figures had to be modern versions of the characters. Scott getting to treat DC and MOTU as his personal playground, including re-writing MOTU lore and convincing the higher-ups that MOTU wouldn't sell at retail and should be an online exclusive, would have tanked the company if Barbie and Hot Wheels didn't guarantee income.
Thank fuck Hasbro fumbled the Jurassic World line and Mattel got the license for Fallen Kingdom. Those Jurassic Park/World dinosaur toys fucking rule.
>>
>>11918336
Accessories dont matter. It doesn't make it a different figure. Now if they will put both up for preorder and let you pick which you want, sure. But if they send you whichever they want in a mystery box like Todd did, fuck no

That makes sense then. I haven't been reading the Absolute comics, her being more brown and sporting a nice rack is as far as I know this iteration of Catwoman.
>>
>>11918317
mattel does variants in the wwe line
they also have tons of exclusives
have fun getting what you asked for :)
>>

I was team Todd, anon
>>
>>11918177
Nothing. These are not good enough to start over.
>>
>>11918177
I'll probably do Absolute Catwoman and that's really all that appeals to me from these reveals

I dig Absolute Flash's outfit though, if InArt does it might pick it up
>>
>>11918342
They did do modern variants but they were often pretty mediocre and often based on which classic version could easily get slightly remolded to the modern one.
The selection of who got a modern version and who got a classic look was really random too. They did a OYL/modern Tim Drake Robin early on but then a 90's Superboy and the Kid Flash was Wally so you couldn't make any modern version of the Titans, only the 80's team

>toy line is both an homage to, and an aesthetic continuance of, an old toy line
>REEEE WHY THEY MAKE CYCLOTRON
Idiot. And it barely mattered since DCUC was Buck: The Line
>>
>>11918111
I've played with my AY Batman tons and none of the paint wore off, just don't eat nuggies and play with your figures at the same time
>>
>>11918111
Why would you allow your figure to shelf dive?
>>
>>11918795
I'm just saying, paint rub and scuffing can be issue, if it wasn't Japanese companies wouldn't stick plastic sheets in all the joints to protect them during transport.

You're kidding, right?
