Anyone else refraining from rushing out and buying the Super Mario sets on day 1? I'm worried about cracks and I doubt that Yoshi's going to be gatekept behind that single, ugly, overpriced Mario's house set so the same goes for the other characters. I ain't spending $100 just to get Peach.

Easy, because it's a cheap looking and overly simple house design that doesn't resemble any depictions of Mario's actual house and that same Goomba is already easily available in the pipe set which is the cheaper option if you're fine with not getting Yoshi anytime soon or the more expensive kart set which at least includes Bowser, Toad, and Cow as well as their respective karts. When comparing this set to those two, it's the worst in terms of bang for your buck. I would have rather gotten a Yoshi's food truck to further go with the Mario Kart theme.

I'm looking for scans of those leaflets that came in old sets showcasing other sets that left kids salivating for more, some even had those fancy promo dioramas. Is there some kind of online repository for those?

Im even very nostalgic for super mario world, mario 64, kart 64 and party 1 to 3 but at the end of the day there is nothing engaging, cool or interesting about the mario universe.

I still bugs the shit out of me that they didn't fully color his feet brown. They didn't pull that shit with Sonic so why cut corners here? I'm also getting used to Yoshi but part of me still thinks he could have been better. Either remove the removable shell play feature so that he'd be less stocky or give him moveable legs that are split apart from each other.

Not to be racist but who is even the target audience for this? It feels like the kind of set that was only made for LAN members to talk about the "sick building techniques" and "awesome parts usage" and never be seen or discussed again after the review drops. Like what kind of person meets all these criteria:

Maybe someone who is already really into modulars with a whole city with plenty more money to spare and a desire to make a vacation spot adjacent to their city? This wouldn't really fit into an existing modular city since the building design is so different.

That's a really good point, I could tell you my favourites from Pokemon, AC and Zelda, but Mario is just so bland that I honestly struggle to care about it outside of playing it.
