BREAKING NEWS

Paris store owner Paul Poncet has been killed while defending his dildo store from rioters. Police have apprehended three Sudanese nationals as suspects, who were not wearing any clothes at the time. Paul is remembered by his family as a prominent figure in the French LGBT+ community, specifically the MAP community, and an avid Lego fan with a collection of 2 sets, which were also looted.

I own 0 Lego but want to hit up a PAB wall and start building something, idk what. There's a Lego store ~10 minutes away from me, is there an optimal time of day to go?
>>
>>11929598
You should look on Facebook Marketplace for a tub of 2nd hand bricks to start you off, way better value than PaB except for some specific parts/minifigs. Look for ones from the 90s that have a bunch of basic bricks in basic colors (red/white/blue/yellow). Remember you can haggle the price, keep in mind that most people posting these have no real idea of the value so they can post something really good at a cheap price (and it goes instantly) or something meh for a high price (and it stays up for ages).
Wash the bricks before using them as well.

I'm fully certain that's the case of Lego being paid to make these shit cars. Same with the World Cup sets this year. Usually Lego takes years betwenen a license's heyday and the sets (like with Overwatch), but they were on time here Not to mention the publicity with the four players building that cup set. It's the same money moving trite like the F1 movie, which even had sets to coincide with its release.

>>
>>11931381
I bought both it and the 3 in 1 at the same time and built them both a few days apart. I was expecting to like the 3 in 1 a lot better but I actually love the manor. I am a sucker for dollhouse type builds and a lot of the techniques used reminded me of the interior of the LKC which is a set I really enjoyed building. The minifigures in the 3 in 1 are definitely way better overall but I do like the ghost maid a lot. I got it for 20% off and thought it was worth it

Its one of my favorite sets of the year. I thought it looked good just in pics, but I liked it even more in person. However, I just have to make it bigger, so I am probably going to get a 2-3 more copies and mix it with the 3-in-1 haunted house.

>>11931464
The 3-in-1 has great minifigures, but that is about all it has going for it. The only other defense I've seen for it is that it has a lot of sand green parts, but it isn't like, 2012 anymore, sand green isn't really that rare anymore.

My bricklink order arrived damaged - I got a silver the hedgehog minifig, but it looks like the nose poked out of the envelope and got broken off in transit (the envelope and the baggie the minifig was in both have a hole matching the size of the nose)

What's normal in a situation like this? Would the bricklink seller offer a partial refund/discount, would I need to send it back (expensive international postage) or am I shit out of luck because it was during transit and that's not their fault?

>are you happy with the halloween manor?

I'm exhausted with hundred dollar sets having only a couple of figures WHYYYYY!!!???

Lego has been doing Xmas display houses for years now, it's about time they did Halloween ones. personally I like the ceramic ones with all the quirky wacky characters around them, Lego could use more of that

but... part of the appeal of these displays is that they are LIGHTED. Lego spends a billion dollars on a Smart Brick when simple lights would SELL SETS like crazy. figure THAT out, Lego
>>
>>11932197
It's funny that you mention light bricks because Mayor Manor was very clearly designed to have a light brick in its fireplace but there is instead just a giant empty space in the chimney where the light brick should be. There is even an obvious place on the exterior where the button should go. It feels like it was designed to have one but it was cut late in the development process.

>I was just asking whether people have experience with damaged bricklink orders and what sort of outcome I can expect

If the nose hasn't completely fallen off you can use a toothpick with a dab of superglue on the tip to reattach his nose. If there is still visible crack marks around the nose, you can get a dollar store bottle of gloss black acrylic paint you can apply with the toothpick to hide the marks. That's how I cover up fatigue marks on old action figures-mix paint colors to match, and then the paint usually fills the marks and blends in. If the paint doesn't look glossy enough after drying, there are also dollar store bottles of clear gloss paint that can be layered over it. I say to try paint first because a sharpie marker might be too large and make it easier to make a mistake, which you'd have to use a Q-tip and alcohol to clean up and I don't know if the decals would react well to the alcohol. Marker ink also has a purpleish-brown hue when light shines on it a certain way, so it doesn't always blend very well with gloss black.
