“Well now,” Katz purrs, “another animal playing pretend. Let’s see how you scream.”

A nearby exhibit shifts. Feathers McGraw removes a rubber glove disguise, revealing his cold, unblinking stare. He says nothing. He never does.

Katz lunges, claws flashing, moving with elastic, cartoonish speed. Feathers ducks, rolls, and snaps a remote. The lights cut out. A trapdoor opens. Katz drops through, landing hard in a maintenance corridor.

“Hah! Clever toy,” Katz laughs, violin bow snapping into a blade. “But I always win.”

Feathers presses another button. The corridor fills with automated pistons and sliding walls. Katz dodges, slicing through metal with ease, advancing despite the traps.

Feathers waits. Perfect timing. As Katz springs forward, Feathers fires a grappling launcher, snaring Katz’s limbs midair. Katz snarls, struggling, grin cracking for the first time.

A desert amphitheater flickers into existence under a warped sunset. Eight figures in skeleton suits stride onto the stage, instruments in hand. Oingo Boingo is ready.

From the opposite side, two figures appear in a haze of distortion and brown light. Ween stands calmly, eyes half-lidded, as if the universe itself is a joke they already understand.

Danny Elfman grins. “Alright, weirdos. Let’s see whose chaos has better rhythm.”

Gene Ween smiles faintly. “Chaos is cute. We prefer corruption.”

The fight begins as sound. Oingo Boingo explodes into frantic ska-punk, horns blasting like weapons, rhythms accelerating until the air vibrates. The sheer manic energy warps the stage, reality bending with each note. Danny sings like a mad prophet, sound waves cracking stone.

Ween answers slowly. A low, grimy groove rolls out, thick and oppressive. Their music seeps into the cracks of the world, rusting the rules instead of breaking them. The amphitheater decays. Colors drain. Time feels wrong.

Elfman pushes harder. “Dead man’s party!” The horns scream, summoning kinetic force that slams into Ween like a sonic hurricane.

Boomer darts in, laughing wildly, knocking Numbuh 3 aside with a sonic clap. “Tag! You’re it!”

Weird Headcannon:
The Affini don't believe in birthdays.
Their cycle of blooming, decaying, and reblooming means they age in a fundamentally different way than we do. And while blooms probably have some fanfare surrounding them within Affini culture they're also a phenomenon unique to the Affini. By comparison using the number of concurrent orbits of the specific planet you're standing on relative to its specific star to tell time and/or age is nonsensical, asinine, and doesn't scale at all to the needs of an intergalactic empire.
