As an addition to the thread updates, I will also be posting at the start three random birds with their respective images, descriptions and locations, for creativity purposes. Write a story, draw them, or simply read and learn about birds that you probably haven't seen before.

From top to bottom:

Mangrove Kingfisher (https://ebird.org/species/mankin2)
>Mid-sized, big-billed, colorful kingfisher. Adults have an all-red bill and a pale gray head. Found in mangroves, coastal forest, woodland, and scrub. Loud call is an introductory note followed by a “bouncing ball” series of wooden trills. Woodland Kingfisher is similar, but Mangrove is separated by its grayer head and all-red bill. Immatures of the two species are very similar, but Mangrove usually shows a red bill with a black tip, as opposed to a mostly black bill in Woodland.

>Large antpitta of the temperate zone in the Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia. Typical antpitta shape: plump with short tail and long legs. Size alone helps separate from most other antpittas, as does boldly scalloped underparts. Often occurs at higher elevations than other antpittas of similar size such as Giant and Great, but plenty of overlap; note Undulated’s slaty gray (not brown) back and dark mustache stripe. if you're looking for advice i'd say figure out how you want your story to end. if you have an idea of both how it begins and how it ends that helps break things down a lot easier. it's not so bad once you get comfortable writing 1 or 2k words a day.
the hardest part is just not getting burnt out doing that over a long enough period of time like you said, i'm kinda the same way. to compensate i've just been working on other things until i get the itch to write again

Considering those species-swapping pods/fruits exist, it's a possibility. The question is who will change to the other's species. For chicks to happen, Ollie must become a javan; he can change back afterwards.

A few months ago one of the hummingbirds that frequents the feeder I set out hit my window. When I got out he was laying on the ground panting pretty hard, so I put him in a box with a pillow and leftover sugar water. He was in a funk for a few hours and had me kinda worried, but he managed to get up and start fluttering around again. Now he sits on the fence a lot and 'dances' around the feeder whenever I forget to fill it.

Yeah, I'd agree, I played with Japanese voices so I can't speak for the English delivery.
But I did so with the knowledge that something like that was going to happen.
The final boss(es) can get fucked though.
Mostly because if you don't bring in a specific build/characters you'll just hit a brick wall.
