>>82933685As an aside, the current fad in fiction seems to be dragon shifters, meaning the dragon assumes a humanoid form. Seems like cheating a bit. When dragons feature in my own stories I keep them to more practical sizes and natural instead of supernatural. Anyways, pic related is a series I enjoyed way back when (no, I'm not the author). Still looking around some as well.>>82935973Thank you. I don't see a problem with LLM's employed as grammar checkers as that's working to their strengths in most respects. So back when Digimon Story Time Stranger was out, one of the most reoccurring pictures made was of boys and men bonding with DemiDevimon as their partner, and it jumps to them evolving into a very sexy, evil female digimon, but retaining most of their initial personality, most basically unaware of how their new form affects their friend.I'd like to request a writing that explores that sensation a bit. I'm thinking of a man (or boy) who takes a DemiDevimon under his wing after DemiDevimon's 'friends' basically beat it up and left it for dead. Maybe a time skip happens to show that a now-healthy DemiDevimon sees the man (or boy, now teen/adult) as boss and some of those cute friend interactions? At most they get in trouble together, eat together, play together. Best friends. They get ambushed by DemiDevimon's 'friends' one day, but actually hold them off well enough. But when they do something that would cause great harm to the man, DemiDevimon warp digivolves into Beelstarmon to fend them off. But now she doesn't know how to change back, if she can even do it at all. This makes the man feel things as the same mannerisms, different body from his partner make him ask many questions about his tastes. Can be clean, erotica or smut, up to author, but I do think confronting the feelings should happen.>Suggested tags if lewd: vanilla, groping, fingering, friend to lover, creampie, belly play/kissing, licking, cunninglingusBeelstarmon/DemiDevimon personality isn't fixed, so they can act any wayyou want. It's honestly getting a bit hard to tell. Although the tags make me think she may end up as a masochist, especially with even a wedgie going on.Otherwise, still sexy, but how long will this foreplay game play out? At some point Shantae can only be humiliated so much before you run out of material and finally just fuck her.

Attention Author MissingIdentityStory: White Lion, chapter 2.DA reports this as "This content is unavailable."I don't have a DA account. I try not to feature stuff hidden behind user logins. SAmaster might be able to provide you with work arounds, but I am aware DA has joined the great age verification censorship fiasco so ... dunno. >>82980164>How many?Everyone who does not have an account. I recall running into this with SAmaster way back when. That were just an oops for opening the work to public view. More recently, DA is classifying works as adult and restricting access on that basis. SAmaster commented he has to be very careful not to trip the sensorship scanner now.In my opinion, DA is well passed its prime as a hosting service. While I'm on the topic I'll also mention I find DA is a real chore to navigate.Anyway, for the MB I can't spend time fighting a bad site interface. Problem solved, so let's all get back to writing.
How do you write nonhuman cultures in a way that's actually convincing? I have been meaning to start on a short story for a while now, but I really want to avoid the whole everyone acts exactly like a human thing, especially with species that are extremely outwardly non-human. Like it's easy to make a bulleted list of traits and customs and whatever but converting that into an actual consistent pattern of behaviors is not as easy as I had hoped lol
>>82985871i've sometimes thought about this exact thing just out of curiosity and after pondering it for a while, honestly idk. you have to keep in mind that depending on how large the setting is for your story, the more you'll have to account for. the entire species you're writing shouldn't have one monolithic culture because that's just not how any sapient-like species would work, there'd be sub-cultures, every individual is different, so on and so forthi had a whole thing written up about considering the terrain and environment and how your species would naturally act but i realize you probably mean how they individually would act. you could think about how your species would 'naturally' behave f they were more wild or non-sapient. question yourself about how the traits or customs or anything you've written up and how they'd go about it. how would they think about the world? about other people? about a threat or a partner? just doing that might get you most of the way there, and it's probably what i'd try first. hopefully that's at least a little bit helpful
>>82978342Sure. Occasional use of LLM grammar checking as a last pass before publication. For the writing itself though? No.LLMs can be fun for brainstorming. They may occasionally point out something you have missed, or more rarely have a novel interpretation worth considering. The most successful brainstorming session I've had was a role playing scenario. I played the part of an alien entity interrupting the scene between Neo and the Architect in The Matrix Reloaded. My goal was to convince the machines to leave Earth. The LLM played the part of the Architect and handled his action beats and dialogue resonably well. The high point was when the LLM surprised me by bringing in the Deus Ex Machina to clarify and emphasize the machine's stance. This leant a comedic touch. Logically the alien would not know who the DEM was so I paused for an aside to the Architect. The LLM correctly interpreted my humorous quip. The Architect was not amused.I encourage everyone to take LLMs for a test drive like this to get a feel for what they cannot do, and what little they handle well. It's too easy to exhaust working space with background detail and the relations between, leading the LLM into nonsense. LLMs have great difficulty handling multiple characters. One on one interactions are best. They consistently fail at intuitive logic, emotional insight, detail nuance, coherent prose length, etc. Like word processors, and spell check, they can be a useful aid. Like word processors, and spell check, they can't get the writing done for you beyond an exercise in Sturgeon's law. You still have to put in the effort to make something worth reading.

>>83037818Alright, just finished my second reading. Like how a lot of stuff went unsaid regarding Eindride's mental state rather than have it be explained to the audience. I struggle with stuff like that in my own writing, I get too excited to explain shit rather than trust the reader to come to their own conclusions and I feel like that lessens a lot of the experience. Also enjoyed how the /rgre/ stuff wasn't blatant as hell or stereotypical. A lot of reversed gender role stuff in writing makes people caricatures of themselves rather than thinking individuals raised in a different culture. What was present was subtle and didn't make anyone feel like tropes, so good on you for that. I was originally questioning as to why Eindride's fortune telling tests gets abruptly dropped in The Lovers, but then I thought about it a little and realized that was the point, in that it doesn't matter. It was nice to see Eindride's mindset about the tests change: he didn't care from start to finish, but his reasons for not caring changed from selfish to selfless by the end. I also spotted a few spelling mistakes while I was reading so I'll just post those now.>Twilight squeezed past the two guards ad trotted>Her head whipped up and treated him to the most childish put he'd seen from a grown adult.>"Have rest of the cake. I'm going home."Also noticed how every quote in The Hermit (Reversed) didn't start with a quotation mark. Not sure how that happened but it made it a little difficult to read. Other than that, I enjoyed the story a lot. Thanks for sharing!
>>82928235Requesting anchor?
>>83054301People have tried to get anchors to stick to this writethread multiple times now, but it doesn't seem to really stick. Whether it's due to most writers more interested in doing their own thing than filling requests, or requests not really making the majority of the thread like other creative generals. Not to mention, because writing takes a while, some requesters tend to dip and disappear by the time a piece is done. I'm personally of the belief that people who do want their ideas to be done is to stick around, read other stories in the meantime. You can still try anyway. But assume no one else will do it, so it'll be up to you to make an anchor when a new thread appears.
>>83054507Remember when requests were the thing the thread was for?
>>83054621Not really?Even from the 1st thread in /trash/ requests were allowed (and there was more than what was now because new kind of thread), and some were even delivered, the majority of works were done by authors who just wanted to share the stuff they made or get feedback and insight from other people to help their works. Not sure if it was the same thing in the writethreads from other boards.
>>83054968I know, I know. Other boards banning write threads at the same time /trash/ was gaining traction made me hope it'd be a permanent fixture.
>>83054301>>83054621Anchors and request docs hail from the /tg/ era, and maybe /d/. Nothing wrong with trying to revive that spirit. So, give it go? However, posting an anchor in itself doesn't motivate content creators. Our thread is fairly slow such that what requests are posted are not being overlooked or lost. Mostly the thread seems to be writers showing their works looking for feedback with a little more visibility, and technical questions on the writing arts. Even still, requests have always been a part of these threads. Over the last three years or so I've seen an occasional request fulfilled. If nothing else one can always reply to the OP with the request. That seems to be the current standard, but that's no rule.
