There's likely three contributing factors. One is when the site went down due to the hack where a substantial number of users moved on and didn't return after coming back online. Two is that the vast amount of bots alongside shills being exposed following the files' information being made public. Third is the economy death spiraling further to the point where NEETbucks aren't enough to keep the more frequent American posters, who contribute to the less popular threads, active as they are required to actually seek out employment. /Fit/ got hit particularly hard from all of this and it's been a damn shame

I think it's weird that /ftt/ is a fairly slow thread now when a few years ago it would routinely go through at least 2 threads a day. But I haven't been coming to /trash/ regularly for a while anyways.

There is no way to fix this. 4chan has been losing visitors year after year since 2022. It's only now becoming very apparent to some people (such as threads lasting much longer than they did before). The hack opened up alot of peoples eyes to the reality that mods/staff never gave a shit about the site or its users. And the increasing shit captcha and range ban issues from March 2026 onwards have just pushed more people away.

I had no idea u18 died. It sort of died twice. It had a massive data loss in the 2010s. Came back eventually. I had not visited it in a while, but I remember it had deep archives again going back to the first time they lost their data.
