Only thing I'll say that sapphie might play instead would be RTS and maybe some light hearted point n click adventure games whilst bringing in natural income from the fact that she's a genius but works from home, I think her becoming bitter but softening up could have sapphie with a bit of a dark sense of humour or edge, not too much though.

I'm going to be pretty autistic about this but I imagined something along the lines of garnet having a very small business as a clothes designer whilst working part time at a karaoke bar as a means to entertain singular guests, being life long fans of hers of course, so she can keep her business from going bankrupt since she gets extra pay from the traction she causes.

Ruby's a glorified neet or mother at home in a very fortunate position with granite, although their friendship hasn't extended past anything other than it being a good relationship since say sunshine/kira deco.

Diana serving as the main villain albeit with a double personality who seems like a drifter (actually lives in a nice home short of where the season plays out) playing light hearted pranks on the existing jewelpets to cheer them up, the other side of her sporting her oval eyes acting as a magical black(dark) market arms dealer to fund a project of hers where she's purchasing tons of goods that'll increase her magical powers to the point where she can break the 4th wall and make script or animation changes on the fly.

autistic headcanon dump: hell even pulling the staff or crew members currently working on the season into her world just so the show can keep going on indefinitely, until the semi final episode where they relay to her that the show's budget ran out and everything has to be done with motion capture (with models to add) for the rest of the episode where diana has to fix the colossal fuck up she's caused.

and peridot working a different low wage job every episode with sponsorships adding to her attire to fund the jewelpet anime

what i noticed about reboots now is that some try to stick to the source/original vision, even sometimes going to concept art. which is why i'm focusing on the gem trait/toy and profile aspect even if it wasn't really important in the anime. i guess i'm kinda thinking of this like the lilo and stitch cartoon, where every ep they explore a character and try to give them some closure of some kind (with the main three helping them), considering a revival would probably have a really small budget and be like 10 min things on yt. if even that, 5 mins more likely

You're right on the money with the reboot conception which is a running theme that's happening collectively, not TDM related but ojamajo doremi is one anime that has had a movie where the characters enter the show they watched when they were young; 5 minutes plus being on youtube would be the most appropriate nowadays where media consumption is usually if not always online.

Even though the diana being a fat slob on a mobility scooter does sound funny, I can only see it becoming either the funniest thing for people with a sick sense of humour or the most depressing thing you can imagine:

I think your idea of ruby collecting jewelpets for a gacha could be a very entertaining series, but instead of ruby, garnet or sapphie making things better, they just end up making things worse and the climax by the end of it all is every jewelpet finding alternative lifestyles or adding something to their life to bring the best out of themselves out of the pure spite they felt for what was done to them.

Pretty much 180s with a basic example being diana looking lean but a size bigger in her body mass with her magic power increasing alongside, she'd also sport her oval eyes at this point.
