If we exist under the assumption that our physical reality operates under observable laws, including the unquantifiable number of gravitational interactions occurring at an atomic level, then those laws would have to be completely broken for alternate realities to exist. If a leaf detaches from a tree branch, it does so because billions of atomic particles arranged for it to happen. The many-worlds theory would suggest that this arrangement was “random”, thus justifying the existence of a reality where the “randomness” swung in a different direction for an inexplicable reason. But, that is not how physical laws as we know them work. Matter moves in response to matter, consistently in the direction of least resistance, dictated by gravitational forces. And a dozen other forces, I’m sure. That fundamentally sets our reality in stone; any alternate outcome would imply an unexplainable realignment of matter, disregarding the laws we rely upon to understand the universe. I know a lot of your consideration towards the topic was catalyzed by your visit to that cave, which I’m currently blanking on the name of, but I refuse to believe in things I see no explanation for. Because I am stubborn. I am absolutely certain that one day I’ll be proven wrong, but if that happens, I think it’ll be through the introduction of previously unobserved scientific/universal revelations.
