All there really is to know is:

It's kind of supposed to be ambiguous. There is no definitive species beyond just feline of some sort. Don't know if she was a deity or a respected ruler, she just is. The simplicity of it and anons jokingly being enraptured by it spun it into it's own thing. I know it feels like there isn't much to work with but I had a great idea you'll all see soon enough. The beauty lies in this undefined nature to sandbox with because it forces creativity and focus to be the surrounding situation of the Idol.

There isn't really a magic system that's set in stone, but now she's teaching the main character magic so we may get some more concrete rules.
