Ahhh that makes more sense, I envisioned this taking part after the "we're friends!" Moment, stringing them along until they're forgotten about AGAIN, repeating the process until Kris gets fed up and breaks the cycle, leaving before they can start the song and dance. Then they'll really learn how much their friendship really matters when nobody actually tries. It's an unfortunate thing about Kris as a character, nobody really gives a fuck about them in hometown.

Suselle being bad for Kris doesn't mean it won't/isn't happening. The chapter goes out of its way multiple times to shove it down your throat, and Kris - outside of cutscenes - seems to bury it (if he's upset at all)
