I like the reserve part more, but maybe he can distribute it however he sees fit, so if he has one charge of blackout drunk he *can* make someone blackout drunk instantly, or maybe 2 people half blackout etc and he can tune how much

That's the basic idea yeah but after a while they degrade/go away. It's a use em or lose em scenario

He still feels it, so for example he couldn't makima someone in a drinking competition, but he can distribute his effects however he wants so for example he couldn't give one person 3 blackouts at once
Him deleting the status effect would be kinda cool though, what would be better?

Cool, that's what I thought but confirmation is good. Does he have an internal timer telling him how long he has left on stored effects, or does he have to manually keep track? I'd think it would be a passive knowledge provided by his Semblance, but maybe it isn't and he just has a calendar full of reminders for what he's got stored

I'm of two minds on it. I agree it'd be cool but it might make him too OP if he lost the status once he stored it. He'd be basically immune to any toxins(plus whatever else counts as a status), and not having to suffer the aftereffects of whatever he got hit with could allow for some really cheesy shit. Pumping himself full of tranquilizers to store, hallucinogenics, straight poison if he had to kill people. Maybe it'd work better/be more balanced as a possible Semblance evolution down the line, rather than a baseline feature
