The reason I think Suselle is doomed (hell maybe any romance in general) is because Susie just does not understand love. It's touched on MULTIPLE times in this chapter, from her not really getting what flirting really means, thinking love only happens when someone loves you first, and defaulting to whatever girly thing she thinks will impress Noelle in the moment (getting flowers, baking cookies, wearing ribbons). Each time she asks around if Noelle will like something -- and while the initial reaction is played up for "god will she shut up" it's really because she genuinely has no clue what to do, or how to show affection.

And yet she chases it anyway, either because she's determined to play her part of the prophecy with "love finding its way to the girl", or just because someone being forward with their feelings for her makes her feel wanted and she'll cling to that happy feeling as long as she can. I guarantee if Kris wasn't possessed by us and actually told her how he felt first, she'd have tried to reciprocate.

But I also find that interesting because despite her not even considering what kind of bond she has with Kris, she's already extremely comfortable with him. When you compare how nervous and unsure of her actions she is around Noelle, with how she has no problem being physical, sharing food, and generally picking up on Kris's state of being faster than others. Whether that develops and she finally realizes what it means is still up in the air of course. But seeing her say things like "well however you like me is how I like you" is so un-genuine it kind of makes me sad. Going through the motions in the vain hope that it'll just somehow work if you match the other person's energy without bothering to think about what you want. I hope they all end up happy, but I really don't know if they're all going to get to that place.

I've read some interesting thoughts that Kris has ill feelings towards his humanity not because he's inherently spiteful towards it but because he doesn't know what it means to be human. We're inclined to view the shop darkworld as a product of Asgore's subconscious, but it's still connected via Kris plus the fact that he made it too. The Aqua connection is also the biggest point, representing sides of Kris in more ways than one.

I’m calling it Susie’s acting nutty because the finally tragedy involved the dragon being slain so she’s coping hard by going all in on the girl LARP unintentionally becoming the exact antagonist that would require killing. She’s treating treating castle town as her personal “hoard”, reverted back to many of her worst ch1 tendencies, refuses to let things change, is against sealing castle town’s fountain despite it being required to avoid the roaring, for fucks sakes she wants to invite a “princess” to her “castle”. All the while Kris is losing every reason NOT to start the roaring and Ralsei’s on edge due to realizing that Susie’s actively dooming herself and won’t change shit

Kris resolved to really put Noelle at a distance, because in any timeline he would show one bit of affection to her, it would end up in a WR again. Whatever Kris might do or say there will make her understand that. There is a world where Kris actually moves on and finds a Susie on his way in life.
