You know, while I'm happy to see /toon/ very alive, especially against many other generals that seem close to deaths door (as well as this very website), I can't help but feel its not the same /toon/ I knew.I mostly remember them being straight focused. These threads came from the wb girls/disney girl threads this board had. Now it feels so much more gay male in the OP and scattered everywhere else in the thread. I think gay male toons had their own thread at one point too. Either way, not really a fan of it but I guess that's the standard now.The second thing is that it sometimes feels what is considered /toon/ has had the bar lowered, sometimes I scroll these threads and think "what the fuck is this doing here" when it may barely be considered toon material, or it has its own general elsewhere like Zootopia stuff. Not everything cartoon related can be /toon/ related. At least that's what I think.On that last point, I don't know when this bar was lowered, but it has lead to more active threads. In fact they are busier now/in the last few months then I ever remember them being a few years ago. But it feels that faster activty came at a price of basically opening the flood gates to allow basically anything to be considered /toon/. Not sure how I feel about that.Just my thoughts on the matter.

The WB girls threads have kept the usual Fifi and Babs posting away from here, plus there are more male toons in general so i can see why it ends up looking male-focused. There's no "bar being lowered", if you want to see more of the type of content you want to see, you have to contribute. That encourages others to discuss those themes and contribute the same type of stuff. I had gotten tired of seeing the same Fifi pics circulating older threads over and over again

These were always bi threads with a leaning towards gay. I do not think that really changed even if the lean towards gay might be excessive. I think the main difference is they only went from solely golden age toons + Tiny Toons + Animaniacs to a wider range of toons. It is logical because if you restrict yourself to only so many characters a thread can die or just repeat the same material constantly. I do think the characters posted are toony and still fit the ideal of the thread. Only some I would say do not fit, and you cannot exactly stop people posting them here lol
