I'd imagine Lithier is aware of that pitfall, game design nerd that he is, and the whole pray-to-the-gods-for-greater-power mechanic that's essentially just a combination of your average level-up system and unlocks for the sexual preferences customization menu right now will eventually let the player make some truly world-shattering decisions with appropriately visible consequences. Of course, I'd imagine it'll take quite a bit of grinding to get to that point, so the appeal is still limited to those who like to earn their demigod player character status.

There's a reason text is the primary medium these sorts of games use, and it's a practical one; it's the cheapest, most convenient option when you need lotsa content and have a shoestring budget and one developer to do it with.

Code:B bros had to fight a war on multiple fronts. At first it was a grim situation, barely hovering around 15th and getting beaten by the worst character in the game, Covetous Wolf. Then we rallied around the flag and started making a comeback. It was a brutal back and forth between Code:B bros and Covetousfags. Eventually we broke through and even got ahead of Yugo and Paul. At that point we were getting attacked in 3 directions and had to stave off Yugofags, Paulfags, and Covetousfags. Every vote counted at that point but we ended up beating them all
