Figured I'd take a bit of initiative in starting a thread this week. It's fucking HOT and I'm scraping by through one more day before holiday. Truth is, the vast majority of modern YGO players don't really care much about the card stories and characters and whatnot, they're just in for the game so the small percentage of people who do care have to divide their attention between thousands of characters, and a few end up getting much more love than the rest. Labby for example, sucks. She wasn't never really meta, rogue tier at best when her support released, and her deck is nigh unplayable nowadays despite being only a couple years old. Yet, she stuck with the community mostly because her great design got the snowball rolling. Eclessia on the other hand, somehow remains relatively unknown despite her deck being meta for 5 consecutive years now and being a canon glutton. Older archetypes are pretty much doomed though. I like the idea of some species just being inherently vunerable to WG and modern processed foods. We dicussed a more psychological aspect of that with the Plus Sized Elf cast last time(how if it wasn't for the main character most of the cast would be uncontrollably ballooning and if it wasn't for the portal weight limit they'd bring their bad habits back home with them), but you could also go more biological.Like look at Undyne in this sequence. Imagine going up multi dress sized daily because human food hits you that damn hard, and not being able to stop yourself.
