Star is just confused they all laugh, it's obviously a belly cart. Jackie lifts her massive gut to reveal a slightly larger one tucked under it allowing her to still waddle even though she's gotten so fat her belly should drag. Star is just holding up her old one that she replaced after hitting 800 (now not only are weights normalizing they're proudly trying to get fatter)

Something I do remember of the original pitch was...basically the levels of extreme would be stuck trending upwards exponentially, but characters relations to eachother would remain internally consistent...ok too many words.The girls who were less prim and proper and more slobby to start with will always be slobbier than average, even as everyone gets slobbier and slobbier and what was 'slob girl behavior' a month or two ago might be 'prim and proper overly polite' girl behavior now. Same with weight, characters like Pie-Girl or the troll teacher would always be fatter than everyone else no matter what the norm(if the average weight is 800, Pie Girl is probably over 1000) . Girls who were fat to start with will always be heavier than chubby girls who would always be heavier than average girls who would always be heavier than the sporty fit girls who would always be heavier than the twigs.To go back to the Star idea, Janna and Jackie would both probably be behind the curve on weight gain as Janna is pretty average on that front and Jackie is sporty and a bit toned. Not as behind the curve as the former cheerleaders, but still the average student body would be plumping up first. However, they're both tomboyish and a bit crude and would probably get shameless and slobby ahead of the others(especially Janna). All to say it would probably be a while before Star realized anything was wrong, and even longer before she realized the scale of things
