One of the workers told me that they've had an uptick in people trying to adopt more "exotic" pokemon that they aren't able to manage either due to time, patience, or issues with their living conditions. That last one had me a bit worried since my apartment's a bit cramped as is, but the lady was very reassuring.Haven't made a decision yet, but if y'all want to hear about some of the options there I'll go through them in a sec (post getting too long to do it all in one go).

They also had two or three of these red dudes with blades coming out of their torsos in a nearby enclosure, but I didn't see much of them because apparently they had gotten into a fight with each other and staff had to deal with them shortly before I got there.They had a separate area for some of the exotic psychic types to keep them from getting overstimulated. One of them was this little yellow bird that seemed to be levitating off the ground. Kept running into my leg, wasn't sure if that was a sign of affection or if it was trying to headbutt me out of it's space. The other one was this weird gray cat that just kinda stared at me with wide eyes, couldn't decide if it was cute or creepy.They also had a share of normal looking pokemon, like some cats and dogs and whatnot. There was a poochyena there, which surprised me because I didn't think they had those in these parts. Used to be from Hoenn, my family had one growing up. Seemed like there was a kid there interested in adopting it, so I didn't linger much.They also mentioned just getting a sneasel that they were doing some extra exams on it. I asked if it was alright, and they said it was in fine health but was "very purple". I asked whether being purple was a bad thing and they said know, but they weren't sure if it was the kind of purple that's "shiny" or if it was an older breed. The lady I was talking to seemed a bit apprehensive about the details, so I decided to drop the subject.If there's anything y'all want to ask about or suggest, I'm open to it.

This was a particularly long outing, of, stakeout. So to speak. These fish do not surface often. Even less so, when there’s a giant dragonfly staring into their water. Waiting. Unovian waters are unsettling. I am never very comfortable knowing that a Frillish could be nearby.

But, if you felt them, it would likely be akin to touching hard plastic. I doubt they’d be able to lift me if they were made of anything softer, because I do not flap my wings like a bird. I buzz. It is a much faster, more brute-force method of acceleration. If I really did have those concerns while underwater, I’d probably just use Steel Wing to protect them. And then, promptly sink to the bottom of the ocean floor, in all likelihood. Regardless, I think the greater threat would be physical exhaustion. It would be like if you attempted to transport yourself across a room while hopping only on your tail. Your tail would not like that.

I was more so thinking that the thicker viscosity of the water might pose an issue with your wings, if you were to try to pump them hard enough to escape. But yes, exhaustion is also another worry if you’re pulled deep enough. Oh yes I’m well aware, try swimming with clothes on. Drags you down as they get heavier, inundated with water that they are, and the extra surface area causing a great deal of drag which makes swimming even more difficult and exhausting… your wings are highly specialized to move air, not a thicker fluid, and they definitely would not enjoy prolonged exertion doing so

When my wings are being strained, that feeling is usually felt at the joint of where they connect to my body. That’s where my rapid-buzz muscles are. Those are the muscles that start to tire out. It very rarely happens, only ever occurring in extreme weather, when I need to fly against the wind. Nonetheless, it is a feeling most would be wise to avoid.One day, you should blast a water gun at my wings while I’m hovering. It would scatter water absolutely everywhere. Like a Poochyena, drying itself off. We would, preferably, do that within the household of someone we despise.
