I've always had this schizo theory that weird route is supposed to be done in context of normal route, which will end with susie's death caused by her getting close to noelle (how exactly this happens i'm not sure idk) so the whole route is about bringing her close to kris with the unintended consequence of feeding into noelle's neuroticism to save susie and causing lake skip unintentionally.
