Problem there is that the more non-dungeon crawling you include, the less the genre will work as an accurate descriptor of the game. The whole thing became distinguishable from your regular RPGs because, back in day when the split occured, you didn't really have the computing power for an extensively simulated world, so it was always a trade-off between world depth and mechanical depth enforced by hardware limitations. Dungeon crawlers decided to put all their chips on mechanical depth by forgoing an open world for the limited confines of a dungeon, where you don't need to worry about such things as simulated NPC routines or balancing the monetary economy to be useful but not game-breaking.

Would be pretty interesting to see some new experimentation done with the basic mechanics of the genre, though. Toyed a bit with a thought experiment of combining modern survival-crafting base building and such with the basic framework of a multi-person party and grid-based movement of something like Eye of the Beholder or Grimrock. My current idea was something where you could run a party of 1-4 characters (who each might have a 0-4 companion slots like a stack of skeletons or mercenaries or bears or whatever) and with a variety of classes, which encourages doing different builds to cover weaknesses (a tank might have a lot of damage resistance, so they could cross into a thorns or counter build).

The key part would be being able to automate each character's logic like FF12 (cast Cure when ally below 80%, cast fire on weak enemies, cast weakness on resistant enemies etc). Once the party becomes automated you could continue to manage them or zoom out and manage another legacy party with your good loot and automate them, or focus on building your faction.

I imagine grinding up a party optimized for certain stuff (pierce and cold resist, extra damage vs slimes) to farm certain drops or materials you need to craft certain items or research for your towns, or exploit holes in the economy

Good selection of furry, scalie, and human/human adjacent races.
Big party comp focus with up to 6 custom party members split between close to 20 classes.
Good for exploration and dungeon diving.
It's not quite the same as something like Etrian Odyssey or anything though, so if you wanted something very specifically designed like a classic tile-based dungeon crawler, then maybe it's not exactly what you're after.
Legend of Grimrock 1 and 2 are closer to that style, but they've got a heavier focus on puzzles over combat and party composition.

"Only" read up until Scene 14, it didn't really work for me, the fact it is REALLY bad at denoting/differentiating when the MC is having an Internal monologue and when he is speaking, as very vaguely but poetically kinda makes it hard to get invested because it feels more concerned about making a poetic statements then actually SAYING things.

It also hits a Red Flag of mine by naming the MC "Caedren", Im pretty sure anyone who experimented with writing AIs know why that would be concerning.

Cinder is basically Mako, MC can "Pull" it, which makes him desirable, but only so people can use him to death. Sneps old lover had the same talent and died. Honestly it's the dynamic you probably seen before.

Not my first "AI Slop" foray though, i tried Leather and Madness back in the day and some other stuff, Anyway after hitting scene 14 i skipfagged to the end to see how long it is, and i'd say it is pretty fucking long for a first build. in fact i'd say too long since it means i doubt the issues found regarding the writing would be fixed due just how MUCH would need to be addressed. I don't wanna bully the creator but it kinda fell into "Used the ease of using AI to use quantity as a crutch" camp for me.
There's plenty of CGs and overly detailed background, there was effort to make sprites consistent and even animated, i get the vibe the creator WANTED to sperg out about their Original Setting and MC, but it all comes off as very cold, detached and hard to get invested in.

I don't wanna be mean about it though since the creator might be an anon (I think someone mentioned they were gonna release their own "Slop" soon) or it might show up in a vanity search, but i think it focused too much on the visual and the writing, be it AI or Genuine, made choices that hurt the presentation. But at least it wasn't Manifesto Symphonia First Movement and did string me a long for a LONG time before i was willing to give up on it and was still far away from the end when i did.

I've been playing Savage Eclipse lately. Not the biggest fan of the AI slop art, but the AI slop animation is oddly entrancing. The game design is really frustrating at times. Your character has like, five health bars. The armor gauge is a terrible idea. I don't think it's increased a single point so far, and enemies usually deal between ten and twenty armor damage every attack, no matter how strong they are, so your armor gauge is only going to last like ten attacks total, meaning that refilling it is effectively pointless unless you're about to fight a boss or whatever. But if you're at zero armor, you start every encounter already being raped, meaning that you're taking sanity, lust, and exhaustion damage with every encounter. I really just wish the game would let you run from battles. I guess it's pointless anyway. Losing just sends you back to the starting town with all of your items, exp, and money intact, so the most efficient way to grind is to make a suicide run as far as you can go until you get raped into submission, and then do it again.

Also, it's really lame that impregnating the enemy just refills their health, but I guess it does actually make the condom item/skill actually useful.
